The food was really good and came out quick. We received the sweat fire blt tacos and the boxcar piggy. Both were really good. The restaurant is very nice. Nice bar area. It's not a huge place but very welcoming. The service was a little lacking. For the amount of space and number of servers. The service could have been a little better. read more

We drive between Franklin and Hayesville on the regular. We always stop at another place on the way, but they were closed. So we gave this a try. Can't believe I have been passing this up all these years. I got the catch of the day. It happened to be blue berry trout. Perfectly pan sautéed with panko and parmesan cheese and drizzled with blueberry compote. You choose 2 sides and let met tell you that was a hard choice. I got brussel sprouts, and I wanted to lick the bowl. It was a delightful meal. Hubby got a hamburger cooked perfectly. We think the cut used was more lean than the ground chuck we use at home. He said it was dressed just right, but he missed some flavor. Cute bar, a bit rustic, just right for travelers, locals and college kids. The service was perfect, even down to giving me ice water for my thermal cup. I am looking forward to going back. read more

The food wasn't that good. My husband and I had the sweet tea chicken tacos. Also, the margaritas were watered down. It was priced to high for the quality of food you get. read more

One of the best eateries in the area. The staff is always amazing! Hands down my absolute favorite place for a burger. I honestly can't think of a single item on the menu that I have had and not thoroughly enjoyed. Every server there is extremely courteous and thoughtful. My husband can come up with some odd requests sometimes. Never one time have not done their best to accommodate us. They always make every visit feel like lunch with friends or dinner with family. The kitchen staff is very talented and creative. Every bite is always consistently yummy and perfect. Thank you Foragers for every smile and full belly and happiness you have brought me, and many more to come. read more

So good. We're in from out of town for a wedding and stopped in off-peak. The grilled cheese was amazing and the cluckin' chips were to die for. Such a cute place. read more

We stopped in here for some lunch on a Sunday afternoon. We had our dog with us and the team was super accommodating in finding us a picnic table in the back. Our server, Caroline, was so friendly and hospitable. The burger was amazing- a highly recommend it along with the fries and the sweet potato tots (we liked salty). The grilled chicken sandwich wasn't the best but it was definitely a solid 4 stars. We look forward to coming back! read more

Gnocchi was fantastic. Bread wonderful with a blueberry sauce to dip!! Rich and balanced flavors!!

Wow the food here is incredible!! Loved the shrimp and grits and you have to order the Brussel sprouts!! The service was amazing and worth the 45 minute drive. They have all the Covid precautions in place and I felt very safe. read more

Wow! Had the best burger here: delicious patty with fried green tomatoes, pimento cheese and candied bacon. Yum! And the Brussels sprouts are amazing! Did I mention that I ate this next to a babbling creek? My favorite restaurant in town! read more

Darrell our server was great! Food was tremendous. Cool, eclectic atmosphere. A must do if you're hungry in Dillsboro.

Loved our trip to Dillsboro, happy we decided to lunch at Foragers. We love farm to table. My boyfriend had the Chili Mac Burger - locally sourced beef, bacon, chili and a fried Mac & cheese medallion. Delicious! They had many burger options, all as creative. I tried the Southwest Burger which is a black bean burger. Best black bean burger I've ever had! Flavors were excellent and a wonderful crispness to it. I tried the Dixie slaw as my side. It's not your average slaw. Mayo based but light, seasoned well with green apples. A winner - and I'm particular with coleslaw! Great location too, nestled between railroad tracks and the river, nice outside seating area. If you dine here, make sure you visit the nearby shops. Great variety, friendly people. Just plain enjoyable place to visit. read more

DO NOT ORDER A BURGER! DO NOT ORDER A BURGER! DO NOT ORDER A BURGER! Old World Yard Bird: Excellent! Brussels Sprouts: Outstanding! Collard Greens: Good but a little too spicy for many people. I like spicy but in this case, the greens would actually be better with a little less spice. Kitchen Sink Burger requested to be cooked Medium: Awful. The burger was cooked beyond well-done to the point of being dry; so bad that it was sent back. They sent out another burger that was a "juicy well-done". We gave up. Apparently the chef has no ability to put out a burger as requested even though they ask you how you want it cooked. read more

We were looking for a place to eat lunch outside with our dogs and to be as covid conscience as possible. This restaurant had been recommended to us by the goofiest people we know, and man...it did not disappoint. The river provided the perfect backdrop to the delicious food and refreshing beers. The food was outstanding, with small blasts of flavor (like the home pickled beets on the goat cheese salad and the blueberry compote on the fish taco) were such a welcome surprise. Our server, Caroline, was friendly and provided excellent service as well as feedback on the area. We'll be back for sure. This place is a hidden gem of delicious, creative, simple and fresh food. read more

Waited only 15 minutes at the bar for a table on a Friday night. Decent start. Service wasn't bad but not great either. Daryl from California is past his prime and others were picking up his slack. Food was OK but overpriced for the quality. Scallops and street corn was amazeballs though. Seafood pasta was pretty decent but a medium burger coming out well done should've been sent back. Along with the chicken fillet sandwich that must have been twice fried. Cobbler required a crumbled top. What was provided? Was a flight of fruity gelatin Overall 2.5 stars=so so, I'll try others before going back. read more

We were out looking for a place to eat a quick lunch, then we saw this very nice new restaurant. We went in to be seated, everyone was so welcoming. If you get an appetizer try the fried deviled eggs, or the breaded fried mushrooms. I think I got a burger loaded. It was the best burger I've ever had in my life!! If you're in Dillsboro head over to Foragers Canteen for great food in a relaxed environment. read more

Excellent restaurant near the train tracks in downtown Dillsboro. Name "canteen" is a little misleading because they have a full "farm to table" menu. We enjoyed dinner plates of filet with the Brussels & Gouda grits. Also had a kitchen sink burger with sweet potato tots. Huge burger with double meat, all toppings including fried egg. All food was prime, excellent quality and expertly prepared and served Also serve an awesome breakfast. The Foragers omelet was great, made with at least 3-4 eggs. Home fries fresh & crispy. Have a fresh Jelly and butter bar to get biscuit toppings. read more

Food was perfect in every way. Zero complaints. It's unassuming because it's behind another place that seemed busier than it but don't be fooled. Literally one of the best restaurants I've been to in a while read more

Fantastic food! Ordered takeout: smokehouse burger, pineapple slaw, Dixie slaw, granny's greek kettle chips, and spectacular sprouts. The Smokehouse burger is a 5/5. Great flavor, beef is flavorful, the bacon is peppered!! Would order again. Pineapple slaw is a 1/5. I wasn't sure what to expect but it tasted like coleslaw mix with maybe a bit of pepper on it and a few pieces of pineapple. Skip it. Dixie slaw is a 3/5, good flavor but just your standard coleslaw. Good standard. Granny greek kettle chips are a 4/5. They don't travel well (we got takeout) and were a bit soggy. But the balsamic sauce and tzatziki sauce are delicious delicious with the chips. Definitely a flavor combination to try! Spectacular sprouts are a 4/5. A bit on the sweeter side but absolutley delightful. Something I want to try to recreate at home. All in all great experience with takeout. There is a brewery right next door if you want to grab a brew. The packaging for takeout was awesome and they even gave us utensils! If I was back in the area I would definitely come back. read more

Best fried chicken sandwich I ever had! Large chicken breast that was hot, fresh, & juicy. Perfect with some spicy pickles. No Mayo needed. We had brussel sprouts as a side & they could truly be a meal by themselves. Braised with balsamic vinegar & a sprinkle of cheese on top. Yum! I also had pork tacos. Amazing barbeque sauces & coleslaw was chunky & flavorful. I honestly wanted to try 1 of everything on the menu. Great options for vegetarians too. Server was friendly & on top of it! read more

I have been eating at foragers for 3 years. We always bring our family and friends here when in town. The food was good shrimp and grits, steak tips alfredo and chicken. Maple Brussel sprouts. Gnocchi with chicken tasty. The only reason I have to give a 3 is we had the worst service from Chandler. When she took our drink order never said can I get you an appetizer. Turned and left had to call her back to order cluckers. She didn't refill drinks when asked had an attitude like a teenager. Then filled some drinks left had to ask for unsweetened tea which had already been waiting awhile for two of us. Her response was give me a minute. The waitress next to us was so good polite. Other waitress told people I'll get your dog some water when I come back. Our waitress never asked if she could get water for our dog. I have to say in 3 years service has always been great. This is the only time I have had to write a negative review for foragers I still said please and Thank you but this was poor service. I will still eat at foragers but would not have Chandler as a waitress. read more

Great food and location! Highly recommend. Located next to a brewery. Service was fast.

This place is an absolute gem . The energy here is like no other as it is situated directly on the water where you can choose to dine in or dine outside while sitting next to the sounds of the rushing water. The food is quality farm to table fare where you can taste the love . We enjoyed the fried shrimp tacos with fries and a side of the Dixie slaw ( which was incredible! ) even the iced tea had soul to it . It's so refreshing to have came across a restaurant that is mindful with local sourcing and providing eco conscious utensils tableware . Highly highly recommended. Thanks to Thomas for the awesome suggestions from to finish . Truly a pleasure read more

Attention!! Before you think this is about the food it isn't! The food was delicious! If I was reviewing solely off the food it would be a 5 star review.. but our service wasn't great. We waited 20 or 30 mins just to get our drinks. Once we received our appetizer 30 mins later she had only been over 1 time, we then received our dinner an hour after the appetizer. Which our server never came over to check on us at all. She came over and brought my wife a box and the check and that was it.. we don't mind waiting for good food, but we would also like our drinks refilled or at least ask us if we are doing okay while we were waiting. Disappointed in service, not in the food. read more

The only chance I got to eat here was when we came up for a food tasting for our wedding. The service from the manager AND chef who came out to greet us was amazing. The food was also some of the best food I've had in WNC. We immediately booked them to cater our wedding. Of the 80+ guests we had all we heard was great things about their dinners!
