It's a cool place. I spent the entire second half of the day and night walking around Sylva and popping into places. This was my fist pop-in and didn't know I would be back later and find a bluegrass band playing--and some stoned guy in a red hat and a blanket dancing to the music that later told me Burt Reynolds was in The Thing and that's why it was his favorite movie. Hmmm.... Anyway, a really cool vibe and all the patrons here were super chill. You also get an interesting mix of mountain folk and way far left but nobody cares and it's a just a time to unwind and not bother with that stuff for a while. Good bartenders too. This restaurant/bar has such a cool vibe! Relaxed atmosphere,outgoing staff and delicious food make this a place I know we will be back to when in town! They have tables and booths inside as well as a bar area you can sit at to order food and drink. We went on a Saturday morning,right as they opened at 11 for brunch. Naturally, we had to get mimosas since it's in the book of brunch etiquette) but they do offer plenty of other options for drinks as they have a full bar, local beers, wine and seltzers to pick from. The menu was a little small for brunch but great options. I had the Bacon and the fixins'( blt on the softest roll ever) and he had the Mama Fried ( chicken and waffles) We were served quickly ans the waiter came back often to check in. They are open and serve from their maim menu until 2 am. Next time in town, we will head here late for drinks and food!! Do yourself a favor and pop in to check them out! read more

Breadhead's just opened about 2 months ago in downtown Sylva and we are very excited to have them here. We were walking around downtown and saw the sign and new we had to check them out. I love what they did with the inside. They really are making it look like a Tiki Shak and I love that. I will say they don't open till 3:00PM so they are not open of lunch. We started off with drinks they have the Tiki drinks you would expect. I went with the Polynesian which was a bourbon based cocktail but for sure has the island vibes. I really enjoyed it. We also had to get the Korean Corndogs for an appetizer since they are one of our favorites and you can't find them often. I will say these could use some work. I was a fan of the batter and sauce but they for sure didn't get cooked long enough. The cheese had no pull and was warm at best. For my entrée I technically went with and appetizer that being the Pork Nacho Mountain and let me tell you it was for sure a mountain. This was a massive serving with plenty of pulled pork, queso, and housemade potato chips. I'm a real sucker for homemade chips. The only thing I would change is maybe putting the ranch on the said because it times it was a little much. Ashley had the Blackened Shrimp Tacos. She liked them but did say the shrimp could have for sure used more blackeneding seasonings. Love the feel and vibe here. The corn dogs are amazing. They had a southwest eggroll special which was great. Their Cuban sandwich was a really good version of it and I will back for it. Don't sleep on the tomato soup. They are really nice and the service is friendly. Highly recommended read more

Breadhead Tiki Shak is a new restaurant in Sylva with a big name and a big menu! We were looking for somewhere to eat the day before Thanksgiving and there weren't many places open in town but luckily Breadhead was open and had one table left open! We had a very nice server who was patient while we took a pretty long time to look through the menu. For my drink I ordered the Zombie which tasted exactly like a Zombie drink, it was delicious and quite strong. For food I ordered the Korean corn dogs to start and then the shrimp tacos blackened for my meal. Being a newer restaurant (I think they are only a few weeks since opening) I know typically there are a few things they need to work out. I was surprised they had it together as much as they did! The Korean corn dogs were probably my least favorite but they seemed to be rushed as the cheese wasn't totally melted. It was however crispy on the outside and it had so much potential to be good. The shrimp tacos were delicious but the shrimp was not at all blackened or at least I wouldn't have called it blackened. The tacos themselves have tons of flavor and the shrimp complemented it perfectly. The sweet potato fries were the correct choice, they were so good and spoke for themselves..... they even reheated well!!! I cannot wait to come back and try Breadheads again when I am back in town, I have a feeling this place will become a great addition to the Sylva community! read more

I can't say enough good things about this special spot. The food is ON POINT, The drinks are so fun and every week they have cool events. It's such a comfortable and fun environment. Great for families Durring the day and such a good time late night. The service is top notch and they have the best poke this side of the mountain. It's just what this town needed! My husband and I loved this place! What a hidden gem, nestled in the mountains in downtown Sylva, NC. The fried pickle spears, best I've ever had. You will compare every other fried pickle to this. Amazing! The pork nacho mountain, bring your friends because this dish is enough to share. At first bite, you'll want to share with everyone just how delicious they are! Love this new place. Since I'm the first review I'll try to do it justice. First up, the place is cute and has a fun atmosphere. The front opens up to the street and gives you a great open air feeling. The inside is fun and definitely has an eclectic feel to it. Second up, the menu has great choices for just about anyone coming in for a meal. Everything is cooked fresh. Don't believe me? You can see the cooks in the back. It's nice to go to a place that doesn't reheat food from a bag. And the prices are solid. Finally, the staff were all very friendly. No problems getting waited on or asking for tweaks to my order. The owners were on premises and genuinely interested in feedback. So if your in Sylva or close enough, stop in and grab a meal or grab a snack. It's worth it. Food was ok. Very limited menu. Atmosphere was uncomfortable, very loud music and so cold inside we just wanted to leave. Service was the only good thing on this visit. Overall, I would not visit this restaurant again. read more

Super fun and adorable place! We pass through this town a few times a year and this spot will always be our go to! The ambiance is amazing and the staff is awesome. The food is so delicious and hits the spot. The cocktails are to die for as well. My husband and I are in love with this joint and the owners are so cute! They also have fun theme nights.
