I had Matt's special-grilled chicken breast. The sandwich was pretty good. The chipotle-lime slaw was dry. Service was friendly. Ambiance was ok. I probably won't be rushing back.

We never thought we'd ever be in this part of the country to eat here again but here we are. Just over a year later we got to stop back by and eat at Kanini's again. Still the same great Diego pork tacos that are sweet and savory as well as great chips and salsa. However this time the chocolate chip cookies weren't quiet as fresh, they were hard and crunchy and nowhere near as great as they were last time. Still, if you're in the area def give their food a try, I believe you won't be disappointed.

    Burnt chicken waffle

Sorry to have to do this.....first place I wanted to eat at post-covid lockdown...ordered chicken waffle...after a LONG wait (my dinner companion had finished his meal) and assurances mine was coming soon, I was served a chicken salad sandwich. Asked where the chicken waffle was and was told they had run out of waffle mix. The young lady at the front who handled this whole debacle had no business working anywhere near a customer. Rude and dull. Finally got a refund and went down the street for a pizza. Flash forward two years; finally ventured back for my chicken waffle (to-go this time). Ordered, waited, not busy at all, bought a brownie, got order, paid, went to car, thought I'd better have a look to make sure I got what I ordered....it was a chicken waffle alright but the two extremely small pieces of chicken were burnt! Took it back in....waited another 15...staff not friendly at all...took the meal...looked inside, looked a little better...got home....they had turned the burnt side to the bottom!!! Never again! I used to take everyone who visited here to Kanini's for lunch...great concept....food was good, but it is run by amateurs who make the experience crappy. Called to speak to an adult a day or so later and was hung up on twice and then put on endless hold. Sucks.

Great food, creative menu. Every ingredient is carefully selected to complement the sandwich.

Service is terrible and staff is rude. Hard to imagine how a business with such rude and disinterested staff remains in business.

Nice hometown deli. Very large selection of sandwiches and baked goods. Great macaroons! Off the beaten path but well worth the find!

I ordered the hot honey chicken tacos (with grilled chicken), and they absolutely delivered. The flavor balance was spot-on--sweet, savory, and just enough heat to keep things interesting without overpowering the dish. Every bite felt intentional and well-executed. The wait staff were also genuinely friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. This is one of those places where the kitchen is clearly the focus, and it shows. If you care more about what's on your plate than what's on the walls, Fuego is 100% worth a visit. I'll definitely be back.

When we called, we were told no wait which was both a huge green flag but also a red flag.. we came here and are so glad we did! (Later on I overhead they had a wait because the kitchen started to back up, so we just got lucky!). This place is pretty tiny, but our party of 6 was promptly seated. They serve a pretty decent selection of beers as well as THC beverages (not for me). They have a wide variety of food available. I got the Nashville Honey Hot chicken tacos. I usually NEVER get chicken tacos because I think that they're dry and inferior to beef -- but I was intrigued. These were the best chicken tacos I have ever had in my life. Full stop. Need the recipe. Got it with an Apple and Daikon salad which was good. Rest of the party got an assortment of chicken, fish and Bang Bang shrimp but I only had eyes for those chicken tacos. One member of our party thought the fish he had been served was not red snapper but another variety such as tilapia -- he's a fishing guide down in Florida so I will deferred to him, but if there was some tom foolery with fish its hard to tell if it was the restaurant's fault or the supply chain -- he said it was good either way. Street corn was good, pork bowl was outstanding, fried okra good etc. My Mom insisted on paying when the time came and accidentally forgot her card at the restaurant. We called the restaurant at 11pm, we'll past closing and someone answered. When we told them we needed to come pick it up because they were closed Monday when my Mom flew out, they said it was fine to come pick it up. The owner walked her card out to us (apparently she also cooks and helps clean up; a great owner operator!). Great experience, would go back again. Great food, good people.

We started with the okra (incredible) and a cucumber salad, and everything tasted SO fresh and local. For our entrées, we ordered the steak and the salmon pasta BOTH were absolutely phenomenal. There were so many things we wanted to try on the menu, and our server made the experience even better. They were honest, knowledgeable, and took the time to break down each dish, even down to the smallest ingredients, which really helped us decide. The vibe at The Sweet Onion is intimate and personal without feeling cramped or crowded. It's that perfect balance of casual and upscale! You could easily dress up for a date night or come in more relaxed for drinks and dinner. On top of that, the prices were extremely good for the quality of food and the level of service. I would 100% recommend this spot to both locals and visitors!!! I genuinely think about this place at least once a week, and if I still lived locally, I'd be dining here a few times a month without hesitation.

First, the location itself is really unique... years ago this was a Greyhound bus station! The whole asthetic was very unique, and beautifully refurbished. We did have to wait an hour for a table (make a reservation!), but it was comfortable and the staff were ALL very friendly! Once seated, our server Nicole was amazing! We were pretty much ready with our order after looking at the menu while waiting. My MIL and I both got the open faced roast beef sandwich, and both with garlic mashed potatoes. I also got a side salad (soooo good, the candy pecans and ranch, wow!), and she got the French onion soup. It looked great, I'll have to try it next time! My bread was slightly burnt on the edges, and while the au jus that comes with it was ok, we ordered some of the brown gravy (that comes with the meatloaf) and it elevated it so much! If the staff reed this, that would be a smart move! My wife got the 12oz ribeye, and she kindly gave me a few bites. OMG, one of the top 3 steaks I've ever had!!! We both don't like anything on our steaks, and the natural flavor was unbelievable! It was cooked perfectly! All in all, it was a great experience and we WILL be back next time we are in town!
