Only a brief wait for the eight of us. Called ahead and found out they could get us in. Staff was extremely attentive, and when it took a little longer than expected, they needlessly apologized. Once seated, we were promptly served and received our drinks. Great options in beverages and a couple of really good appetizers. Several main courses were tried, but I had the blackened grouper sandwich with a side of the amazing Parmesan rosemary potato wedges. Fried in beef tallow, they were life-changing. Others at the table, tried some of the bowls and no one at the dinner left hungry or disappointed. Portions were generous, and if you don't want something too large they do offer a little smaller sized serving at a discount. If you want a variety of options and some extremely good food at an extremely reasonable price, You Must try Fuego. read more

Stopped by here on our way do to SC. Excellent find because the food was amazing, and priced very reasonably. Ordered the hot honey chicken tacos. Thought that it may not be enough food (since there were only 2) but they were huge and filling. Also I liked that it wasnt overly sweet like at other hot honey spots. The best were the wedges though. Easily the best wedges that I've ever had. They are cooked in tallow and they were so crispy and delicious. Even though all of the food was good, would come back just for the wedges. Service was friendly, and parking is available. read more

Like many others, we stayed in Lake Junaluska for a week on vacation. We were initially going to go somewhere else but the wait was too long so we came here. When we called, we were told no wait which was both a huge green flag but also a red flag.. we came here and are so glad we did! (Later on I overhead they had a wait because the kitchen started to back up, so we just got lucky!). This place is pretty tiny, but our party of 6 was promptly seated. They serve a pretty decent selection of beers as well as THC beverages (not for me). They have a wide variety of food available. I got the Nashville Honey Hot chicken tacos. I usually NEVER get chicken tacos because I think that they're dry and inferior to beef -- but I was intrigued. These were the best chicken tacos I have ever had in my life. Full stop. Need the recipe. Got it with an Apple and Daikon salad which was good. Rest of the party got an assortment of chicken, fish and Bang Bang shrimp but I only had eyes for those chicken tacos. One member of our party thought the fish he had been served was not red snapper but another variety such as tilapia -- he's a fishing guide down in Florida so I will deferred to him, but if there was some tom foolery with fish its hard to tell if it was the restaurant's fault or the supply chain -- he said it was good either way. Street corn was good, pork bowl was outstanding, fried okra good etc. My Mom insisted on paying when the time came and accidentally forgot her card at the restaurant. We called the restaurant at 11pm, we'll past closing and someone answered. When we told them we needed to come pick it up because they were closed Monday when my Mom flew out, they said it was fine to come pick it up. The owner walked her card out to us (apparently she also cooks and helps clean up; a great owner operator!). Great experience, would go back again. Great food, good people. read more

One more delicious meal at Fuego! One of my typical meals is the spicy honey chicken tacos. It's always a great choice as it mixes sweet and spicy flavors that put a smile on my lips. The restaurant is always clean and the staff is very helpful and accommodating. I'm looking forward to my next visit. read more

They have really good food most of the time, but my experience this time was a waitress named Nicole that highly dislikes me for personal reasons that wasn't even our personal waitress & wanted nothing to do with us until it was time for our food. She decided to deliver our food and when I received it, there was a fresh cricket in it!!!!! This has never happened before and would hope next time we go she no longer works there! read more

Adorable ambiance. Friendly staff. Delicious food! I've been to many small mountain towns in the southeast (and country), and there are rarely any restaurants where the food is amazing. This really is great place, to include food! read more

Ordered ahi tuna bowl and there was a literal shard of metal in it. Gave them another chance and went back and table next to us came in 10 minutes after us, ordered and got their food as we sat there for 30 minutes without anyone even taking our order. Hour and a half of sitting here before we even got our food. Don't think we're gonna come back read more

Great service, great food, great ambiance. Quaint, homey feel with so many options. Superb beer/wine lists and they cover all the bases when it comes to american fusion. Tasteful combinations, no gimmicks. No doubt this place will have you arguing with yourself over what to get. It all looks good. Compliments to the chefs and staff all around. 10/10 will be back. read more

The interior is pretty simple and no-frills, nothing that screams "destination dining." But the moment the food hits the table, none of that matters. I ordered the hot honey chicken tacos (with grilled chicken), and they absolutely delivered. The flavor balance was spot-on--sweet, savory, and just enough heat to keep things interesting without overpowering the dish. Every bite felt intentional and well-executed. The wait staff were also genuinely friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. This is one of those places where the kitchen is clearly the focus, and it shows. If you care more about what's on your plate than what's on the walls, Fuego is 100% worth a visit. I'll definitely be back. read more

We must be snobs. 2 sandwiches, a water and a soda. $50?? Pass thanks - expected better

Went to Fuego a few days ago for lunch. There were four of us and we had the Fuego Burger with potato wedges, Korean Bowl, Classic Burger, and BBQ pulled pork sandwich with fried okra. All of our meals were excellent. We were seated right away. The restaurant was immaculately clean. Our server (Noodles, yes, that is her name) was efficient, friendly, and professional. In fact, I really liked that she stopped by our table three times just to see how we were enjoying our meal. Great place. read more

Small brick and mortar upgrade from food truck. Excellent eclectic menu, we appreciate the small/large option on most menu items. Kitchen can be slow but alwys produces a top quality meal. Check Facebook for daily specials. Never disappointed. read more

Really interesting spot! I've had the steak quesadilla which was pretty decent and the portions were better than what I expected for the price. The folks that work there are nice but the pickup spot is right in front of the door to the kitchen so be careful when you're waiting to pick up food. When you're inside it's as if you're in a house that was just converted into a restaurant cafe so it's kind of unique in that sense, and they do have a few different selections for beer which is awesome. Very unassuming location but great in a pinch. read more

Best food around. I have ate at the Fuego food truck since 2020 but the restaurant is also great! We had the best service and the hostess did a great job too! I got the adobo chicken nachos and then the pork bowl, best meal I've had at a restaurant in a very long time. The building is small but they still have a lot of seating and even a few tables outside. Eat here! 10/10 recommend! read more

food was really good the seafood burger was amazing 10/10 service was good took a little bit but it's ok

Went for lunch and ordered bang bang tacos. Pretty good. But as I was leaving the woman from last week ran out to say that I was not welcome. She was ugly and mean, like before, and apparently furious I had dared to write the review of last week. I told the truth and I stand by what I wrote. What is so curious to me is that instead of wanting to please a customer, her idea of good customer relations is that the customer always be flattering. I have lived toooooo long. I thought we were supposed to tell the truth.Anyway, I did tell the truth and I am sorry if she couldn't handle it. read more

Sorry but was not impressed, I got the Birria brisket tacos and didn't like the flavor, tasted like too much allspice or something like that. I only ate 1 of 2. The queso was too thick and bland but edible after I added salsa and milk to thin it out. Maybe just a matter of taste so don't want this review to impact their customers. Also quite pricey $16.00 for 2 tacos and small queso with chips read more

I love everything about this little gem of a restaurant. The food is creative and top notch. I especially love the chicken sliders and the chicken and bacon quesadilla. The servers are always friendly and knowledgable about the menu. The is the restaurant I love to bring friends and out-of-towners to. It never disappoints. read more

Arrived this evening around 7:15. There were only a few people dining due to a festival in the neighboring town. We were promptly seated and our server was Bridget. We had never been here before and although not celiac we inquired about some gluten free options and Bridget went over and above to make suggestions and offer accommodations. My husband had the lobster burger with truffle fries and fried okra- he stated it was perfectly cooked and decadent - and the truffle fries were some of the best he's had. I had the sticky pork bowl- the small was enough to feed two people- and they have a large! Also delicious and fresh. Bridget ensured we were happy and needed for nothing. When we left my husband stated that it had been a long time since he enjoyed going out for food in Waynesville and Fuego was the best he had had in years! 10 out of 10! read more

Excellent food!!! We had the shrimp tacos, the ahi appetizer, the Korean BBQ and the soft shell crab sandwich. All were amazing. As a bonus their french fries are outstanding. Be warned - you might over eat because it is all so good. Service is almost as good as the food ;-) read more

Oh my....one of the best burgers I have ever had...EVER. My friend had the tacos and they looked to die for. Service and ambiance are top-notch!! The patio is lovely. I took the baked potato home....it wasn't anything special, just okay. read more

Wow wow wow is all I can say. I stopped in expecting a food truck experience. Boy was I wrong. The food was on point. Perhaps one of the best past dishes I have had in the area. The service was outstanding. Portion sizes were generous. My pasta was a small size and I could barely finish it. Seriously this place is a top contender in the area. We recently moved to Waynesville and took a break from unpacking. We decided to try Fuego as it had great reviews. We weren't disappointed. Our server was so polite and welcoming. I'm probably spelling her name wrong but it's Saylor. She made a great impression and the food was delicious! We will be back! read more

This place is phenomenal! Clean, friendly, prices right, and the food is absolutely perfect.

Truly a gem of the Waynesville food scene, Fuego has it all: delicious and unique food, fair prices, and friendly service. There truly is not a single "bad" thing on the menu and I promise that whatever you choose to eat will quickly become a new favorite meal in your Rolodex. My wife and I have been eating Fuego since it was a food truck and it has always been a favorite of ours (even so much they catered our wedding's rehearsal dinner). Do yourself a favor and order up some fried ribs, a steak quesadilla, and a strawberry lemonade and make Fuego a part of your night out! read more

I had lunch today. My first time at the restaurant. I had the Korean BBQ Bowl. It was amazing. The combination of steak, pickled onions and rice was so good. The staff was attentive and professional. An absolutely amazing menu, I almost couldn't pick one thing. Ultimately decided on the Sticky Pork Rice Bowl and was not disappointed!!
