What a great location and place to grab lunch with a friend. The fish and chips are really good and we're very generous. The price is really good for what you get. I love the interior that is rustic and open. The staff are very friendly and very accommodating. The food was great and the service was quick.

Went to dinner with family and had another wonderful meal at this restaurant. Although owned by Boojum brewery they also have a full bar. We had the fried pickles and calamari to start both were very tasty. One niece had the waffle which was huge but she ate the entire thing. Several of us had wings which were also cooked great. Crispy. One had chicken fried steak and one had fish and chips. Wa have been several times and they are very consistent Our server was so cheerful, funny and helpful. They are lucky to have him working there. We wlll definitely return again !! Thank you for all the beautiful decorations. It was very festive.

Our first impression is that the service isn't going to be great/slow. The staff seem a little on the slow moving side perhaps due to being busy? Our waitress who was the bartender is tending to the whole bar (about 6 people), a group of 6 (us) and a family of 10. They have two separate menus with different offerings for lunch & dinner. I have attached photos of the dinner menu. The food came out quickly and our Waitress, Heather took good care of us and ensured we had everything. Grandma didn't like her Fish so they refunded it for her. The price is a solid $$.

Great southern meal at The Red Fox. We started with the Pimento Cheese Skillet, it was good, just needed to include more slices of bread. We ordered Steak Bowls, Blackened Chicken Alfredo, Brisket Egg-rolls, and the Tortilla Soup for our mains. Everything was simple but delicious. The restaurant's decor is Mountain-cute.

We had lunch today at Red Fox. We had the Maple Chicken and Waffle sandwich and the BBQ Cowboy Tacos. The chicken sandwich was nice and spicy (as advertised). The waffles were outstanding. Really flavorful! As for the tacos, they were tasty as well. We all had fries as our side dish, and they were crispy, fresh, and well seasoned. Although this restaurant is owned by the same people that own Boojum Brewing Company on Main Street, the menus are definitely different (so it's not like just eating at Boojum in a different location. The restaurant itself is spacious, clean, and well arranged regarding seating (booths, tables, and bar). It's nice that they have a full bar with a nice selection (for those that want a drink). There were plenty of people working, so the service was fast and friendly. Despite the current construction on Russ avenue, the Red Fox is easy to get in and out of. This restaurant is a nice addition to the already wonderful assortment of great restaurants in Waynesville.

Our salads were amazing!! I ordered seafood and Jeff ordered steak . The steak was cooked perfectly and the seafood was so good. I had never tried cod but it was delicious. The food came out quickly and our server even invited us to come back at Christmas time to see the over the top decorations

The Red Fox is new in town but my B&B said it was getting good reviews having just opened. I went twice during my visit to Waynesville. For the first visit I got the Country Fried Steak. The steak tasked like they hand pounded it on the spot and breaded and cooked it and was clearly not a precooked reheat from a supplier. The mashed potatoes were hand mashed and had some chunky texture and tasted great. Oh the Broccolini...i think it qualifies as an addictive drug. It is coated in a perfectly salt/olive oil/butter mixture and cooked al dente. I'm not one to like broccoli stalk but with that coating i had to and wanted to just suck it off of it. A fantastic meal for sure. I tried the peach cobbler and the topping tastes more like a cake topping that a granola. It is small so if someone in your party says I'll just try a bite slap that spoon out of their hand and tell them to get their own so not shareable in my opinion but maybe i have an issue!! For my second visit i tried the Trout and Grits. the trout was lightly breaded and fried. the cheese grits were really good and the sauce was just fantastic that tied it all together. another must try. i tried the panacotta for dessert and it had some crispy topping to go with the fresh strawberries. it was a solid panacotta and would say it is a best option so far. also small so not sharable. the staff on the two visit were friendly and helpful and attentive. You should come try them for sure.

Taco Tuesday!!! 2 steak tip, one chicken and one shrimp!

We started with the okra (incredible) and a cucumber salad, and everything tasted SO fresh and local. For our entrées, we ordered the steak and the salmon pasta BOTH were absolutely phenomenal. There were so many things we wanted to try on the menu, and our server made the experience even better. They were honest, knowledgeable, and took the time to break down each dish, even down to the smallest ingredients, which really helped us decide. The vibe at The Sweet Onion is intimate and personal without feeling cramped or crowded. It's that perfect balance of casual and upscale! You could easily dress up for a date night or come in more relaxed for drinks and dinner. On top of that, the prices were extremely good for the quality of food and the level of service. I would 100% recommend this spot to both locals and visitors!!! I genuinely think about this place at least once a week, and if I still lived locally, I'd be dining here a few times a month without hesitation.

First, the location itself is really unique... years ago this was a Greyhound bus station! The whole asthetic was very unique, and beautifully refurbished. We did have to wait an hour for a table (make a reservation!), but it was comfortable and the staff were ALL very friendly! Once seated, our server Nicole was amazing! We were pretty much ready with our order after looking at the menu while waiting. My MIL and I both got the open faced roast beef sandwich, and both with garlic mashed potatoes. I also got a side salad (soooo good, the candy pecans and ranch, wow!), and she got the French onion soup. It looked great, I'll have to try it next time! My bread was slightly burnt on the edges, and while the au jus that comes with it was ok, we ordered some of the brown gravy (that comes with the meatloaf) and it elevated it so much! If the staff reed this, that would be a smart move! My wife got the 12oz ribeye, and she kindly gave me a few bites. OMG, one of the top 3 steaks I've ever had!!! We both don't like anything on our steaks, and the natural flavor was unbelievable! It was cooked perfectly! All in all, it was a great experience and we WILL be back next time we are in town!

All the food, like last time, was paced perfectly. Our apps and salad were not overlapped by my our entrees! And the rolls, c'mon! They're hot and delicious! We shared the onion strings app, tasted perfect and loved the dipping sauce. We also got side salads with ranch -- wow, you can tell it's made there, and just the right amount of dill in it! For entrees, wife and I shared the 14oz ribeye -- WOW, is it good -- with a side of broccoli. Good amount of marbling, perfect temp (medium), and juicy. MIL had the fried chicken, which was probably a 3 out of 5 for her. Only two of the four pieces were juicy, and to me it looked a little over cooked. We had no room for dessert, and the snow started coming down heavy, so we left after filling up. Make sure you don't assume anything with this place being in a strip mall -- it is sooooo good! When we called, we were told no wait which was both a huge green flag but also a red flag.. we came here and are so glad we did! (Later on I overhead they had a wait because the kitchen started to back up, so we just got lucky!). This place is pretty tiny, but our party of 6 was promptly seated. They serve a pretty decent selection of beers as well as THC beverages (not for me). They have a wide variety of food available. I got the Nashville Honey Hot chicken tacos. I usually NEVER get chicken tacos because I think that they're dry and inferior to beef -- but I was intrigued. These were the best chicken tacos I have ever had in my life. Full stop. Need the recipe. Got it with an Apple and Daikon salad which was good. Rest of the party got an assortment of chicken, fish and Bang Bang shrimp but I only had eyes for those chicken tacos. One member of our party thought the fish he had been served was not red snapper but another variety such as tilapia -- he's a fishing guide down in Florida so I will deferred to him, but if there was some tom foolery with fish its hard to tell if it was the restaurant's fault or the supply chain -- he said it was good either way. Street corn was good, pork bowl was outstanding, fried okra good etc. My Mom insisted on paying when the time came and accidentally forgot her card at the restaurant. We called the restaurant at 11pm, we'll past closing and someone answered. When we told them we needed to come pick it up because they were closed Monday when my Mom flew out, they said it was fine to come pick it up. The owner walked her card out to us (apparently she also cooks and helps clean up; a great owner operator!). Great experience, would go back again. Great food, good people.
