    Baked apple crisp dessert
    Sydney K.

This spot was worth driving out of Cherokee (where we were staying) for dinner. The staff and our server were very kind and quick. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is very cute and rustic, giving a nice classy feel.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We got the French onion soup and fried mushrooms. The soup was a solid classic and the mushrooms were crispy on the outside and juicy and soft on the inside. I don't think that the boots sauce was the right combo with the mushrooms, only because even a small amount of the sauce overpowered all of the flavor. We split the country fried steak with a loaded baked potato and the creamed spinach. All three things were absolutely excellent and tasted home cooked. We got an Apple baked crisp with ice cream on it for dessert. It was baked to order, but was a little too overpowering with the cinnamon. Kind of felt like we were eating a straight up cinnamon sticks, it was almost bitter. The apple slices in it were nice and soft though.

16 oz ribeye with creamed spinach and fully loaded backed potato. Plenty for two!

This is an unapologetic steakhouse in the best way possible. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambience is old school steakhouse in an old charming house(?).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was amazing- thanks to our sever Lacey. We both had a couple of Southern Old Fashioned's that were great but I gotta tell ya' that ribeye steak is out of this world. Simply prepared to let the quality of the meat shine through. Massive cut/ took at least half of it home with me along with half of the baked fully loaded backed potato. Not cheap, but the value of the meal is absolutely there. Check it out and enjoy!

Read somewhere that Boots is "The best steakhouse in NC" and I would be hard pressed to disagree. Let's start with the staff. So friendly and attentive! The host made her way around to chat with each table which made us, first time here, feel right at home. I can't speak to the indoor seating as we had our pups with us so we sat outside. Comfortable, clean, and spacious. My steak was absolutely perfect! Cooked to temp, good amount of S&P. The standout for me here was the potato skins. Sliced like steak fries and heaps of toppings. I would recommend to the business to expand their desert menu. That's just a personal preference. Fantastic!!

Can't help but splurge when the food is this good. I ordered the surf and turf and added an extra lobster tail to my order. The steak you could cut with a fork and the lobster tail melted in your mouth. 10/10

My wife brought me on a mountain glamping trip about 5 miles from Boots Steakhouse. We went to Boots to celebrate my 60th birthday, and had quite a lovely meal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is very cozy and nice[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], the food was absolutely excellent, and our server Erin R was delightful! She is a huge asset to this great restaurant! Very sweet and conversational and had the perfect level of attention. VERY highly recommended.

Great service. At $38 for a prime ribeye that was fork tender and perfectly cooked it was a real bargain. Highly recommend this restaurant

I've heard from so many people that it's beautiful inside the restaurant. But, I must say, the food here is worth the wait which is not long. The food is always fantastic. One day, I will get to go inside and be able to thank all the people that work there that put all the effort into taking such great care of my food! Shannon Goodson

One side is for pickup the other is the side down restaurant. Since we were dining in we ended up at the Quirky Bird side. They have and out door patio and a picnic table or 2. We ended up at the picnic table since we had our dogs with us. We order drinks I had a Coors. I also noticed when I went inside they had a full bar with a decent amount of bourbon. Was surprised to see Weller 12 there for such a small place. They had a couple sandwiches which I was interested in but went with the Winner! Winner! Chicken Dinner! which is breaded chicken, Munster Cheese, avocado, arugula, Blueberry Compote, on a Ciabatta Bun. I will say the service was a bit slow with drink refills and getting us out our food. Though we understood because the train had arrived at the time we were there and there was a lot going on at the take out side and were where at the furthest table away. I will say when our food came out it was pretty good. My chicken sandwich was was lightly breaded and the Blueberry Compote really brought everything together. We even got take out from here later this week and the Chicken Casserole Wrap was also good.

I came here with a friend who had…read morevisited the previous location before they moved, and I can confidently say this experience delivered exactly what I needed. First, let's address the only downside: my burger was slightly overcooked. The server was very kind and attentive, but by the time she came back around to check on us, it felt a little late to send it back. I decided to remove the meat and enjoy the rest of the burger -- and surprisingly, it was still very good. My only hope for next time is that everything comes out cooked exactly as intended. Now for the positives -- because there are plenty. The wait time was excellent. We didn't have to wait for a table, and the food came out in a timely manner. That level of efficiency definitely adds to the overall experience. This restaurant is clearly operating at a high level. The location is great, the atmosphere is welcoming, and everything feels well-managed. You can tell there's pride behind what they're doing. We ordered The Goat Burger with Crispy Buttered Taters and started with the Fried Deviled Eggs. The fried deviled eggs were a standout. They had a salty base with a slight kick of heat, and the pickled onions brought in a sweet, tangy balance that elevated the dish. The salty-sweet combination worked beautifully together. A strong appetizer choice. As for The Goat Burger -- aside from being slightly overcooked -- the flavor was impressive. The patty was well seasoned, and the fried goat cheese paired with bacon created a rich, savory profile that complemented the crispy buttered taters perfectly. Everything worked cohesively on the plate. Even after removing the meat, the toppings and structure still delivered strong flavor. The food was absolutely worth the money. I left feeling full and satisfied without feeling overly heavy, which is always a plus. This is a place I will go back to again and again. I would confidently recommend it to others -- great location, good food, good people, and solid service. They also offer wine and beer for those who want to enjoy a drink with their meal. Overall, a very strong experience. I'm looking forward to coming back -- and next time, I'm hoping everything comes out cooked perfectly.

The layout of the restaurant is very homey with the Green velvet love seat by the door in the waiting area. It seems very casual with mostly family's and a few couples at the bar. When we arrived there was a short wait so we walked out to admire the Jackson County Courthouse on the hill across the street. After our brief walk our table was ready. We had my wife, son 2 daughters and the oldest one's boyfriend who goes to WCU. We started with the fried deviled egg and cheesy prosciutto croquettes for an appetizer. Big fan of the tomato jam and croquettes so much that I saved the remaining portion for my Gouda grits. They have a wide variety on the menu so everyone found a meal they would enjoy. My wife got the motherclucker chicken sammich with a salad, my youngest daughter got pasta Alfredo, my son got the Rueben, I ordered the fish tacos with Gouda grits and Karlea and Tristan got a basic burger and fries. Other than being messy, my fish tacos were tasty with the slaw and blueberry composite. My wife liked her chicken sammich even though it was at the edge of her threshold for spicy. Brody enjoyed his Rueben but the seasoned veggies were a bit bland. Forager seems like a Sylva staple that will stay on my shortlist. Cheers!
