    Had issues with a high energy bill so I got an energy evaluation from FOR energy and they found some issues. Not sealed ducts and low insulation. I ended up scuffing up upwards to $5,000 and got everything fixed as they recommended. I know they can't guarantee lower KW usage but that really was the whole basis of the conversation with my sales person upon agreeing to the work order. Post service our AC is running almost all day which is unusual since we haven't changed our patterns of temperature in the house. They're asking about the ac Units I have but our units are brand new not even a year old. My energy has sky rocketed. (Photo of usage before service and photo of usage after. Our use after service is almost 60kwh higher??) Asked to have our work checked out and "sure yeah they'd come out" they said and then proceeds to text me that I'd get a $125 charge for service fee if they don't find anything wrong. I just spent thousands of dollars and they can't come do a check of their work? Seems like they talk you up to make you worried about the things you need done in the house and there has been absolutely no benefit. Rather less efficient than before. I wish I never got my house serviced. Do not recommend at all.

    Misaligned intake grill

    I signed up to get my ducts sealed, but ended up with a dirty living room, misaligned intake grill, over $1k charged, and the worst part about it was that my ducts weren't sealed. I signed up to have my home evaluated for its energy efficiency. The sales guy was friendly and respectful. We discussed that we had our attic filled with insulation recently and that it might have caused leaky ducts. We also discussed replacing the intake grill for the HVAC. We discussed a price but when I got the quote it was for $100 more. This should have been my first sign to pull the plug on this project. The contract you sign requires you to post on your personal social media of else they will charge you 5% more. The sales guy initially told us this "5%" discount was for signing up the same day. Later I discovered it was for the forced social media post. Here is the wording from the contract: "Owner agrees to complete the selected Pay it FORward marketing items within (1) week of the installation being completed. Owner also understands that if Owner took advantage of the Pay it FORward Program and the items are not completed within (1) week of the installation being complete, Contractor will charge 5% (or percentage given as a discount) of the total invoice that was originally given as a discount." I got a call to schedule the work the same week. However, that got canceled. We rescheduled for the week after for 8am. When that day came, the workers came at 6:50am. The workers started with the blower door test to verify the amount of leak from the ducts. I expected there to be more diligence done about verifying that the rest of the house was sealed, like the fireplace. The blower test showed that the ducts were too leaky for the aeroseal treatment and they would need to seal it first from inside the attic. I expected this based on the conversation with the sales guy and the amount of dust of the registers. The attic was recently filled with additional insulation. However, the entrance has about 4 feet that needs to be moved away before you can enter. Once you're in the attic, it's between R-38 to R-49. This is a standard amount of insulation in an attic. But because of the attic access being tighter, they decided that they can't complete the job. However this was after they already took off the intake grill for my HVAC. They put the old intake grill back on, but the alignment isn't right and now it does not sit flush. After they left, I noticed black soot through out my living room. Because the fireplace was not sealed, the pressure caused the ash from my fireplace to fall out. I'm still finding the ash all over my house. All of this was frustrating but I still wasn't going to leave a review. It was until I checked my account and saw they charged me half the work. Im sure this company is capable of doing good work. But it's pretty obviously to me that they're prioritizing growth of their business over quality of work. There's no way to know what you'll get. I should mention that they did offer to come back to fix the intake grill. Based on how the process has been from start to finish, I don't trust them fixing the grill (especially since they wouldn't be making money off of the work).

    Let me start off with the sales person. Her name is Jen and she was lovely. She did however push for referrals and a 5 start rating on FB before any work was completed. I went ahead and did that because she was so convincing. That was my first mistake. Then the workers came and did the shittiest job- this was supposed to be top of the line work- sealing ALL vents in the home and garage. The first day my husband went behind them to check their work and after the first 4 vents weren't done at all- he stopped checking and called the supervisor. We were told this was an anomaly and they would make a proper repair. By this time we don't trust them and my husband is now going to go up into the attic with them to verify they do as they are supposed to. Upon return the following week- the workers are up their and step thru our ceiling- now damaging our ceiling. I am thinking WTF!!!!!!! I am beyond pissed as we have paid over $40,000 for 2 new AC units and to have our home sealed. I would NEVER recommend them and am beyond disappointed. We will see if they actually repair everything to our expectation and the expectation sold to us.

    I can't believe how easy it was to use FOR Energy to install solar panels at my home. The process takes a little while, but I had to do so little work. They came to the house, recommended how many panels we would need, submitted the plans to the city for us, and talked to our HOA when necessary. When they couldn't do something directly for us, they talked us step by step through who we needed to contact and what we needed to fill out and supply them with (mainly our HOA). Even with the new loan we are paying off, we have decreased our electric bill by 80%. We are loving the fact that we went solar and I can't recommend FOR Energy enough! Reed came out after installation was completed and flew around his drone to show us how great the installation looks and to double check and make sure that everything was connected and working properly. Another great customer service touch. If you're on the fence about solar, FOR Energy makes it easy and extremely affordable! I started saving money right away AND in the long term. I can't believe it took me so long to do this!

    After my last review the owner contacted me and it seems like he was interested in my issues and wanting to help me fix them. He assured me that their would be changes made to insure that others don't have the same challenges I did.. They came out and completed the job and did an exit test on my house and it performed better.

    Summer savings last year. Compare June-Aug 2019 to June-Aug 2018. Big savings even though the temps were higher.

Alex (owner) was incredible to work with. He came out to our property and did a full evaluation. He caught things that no one else did. One thing that stood out to me was his transparency and honesty around the setup of our systems. We have old suction lines and liquid lines that are not compatible with the new Trane units. He has a solution for that but he was the only one that mentioned this. Some of the other installers that I inquired from also quoted us on the exact same Trane unit and failed to bring this up. In fact, the other companies were going to install a Trane unit on old lines, which would cause early compressor failure and voided the warranty through Trane due to the units being installed on the wrong sized lines in the first place (verified this with Trane). Alex was patient with me through all of my questions, provided examples of what it would look like to replace the lines, and was amazing to work with. Even though we ended up going with a company that made units compatible with our old lines, I am forever grateful to Alex and Ideal Air Conditioning for saving us from dumping a bunch of money to potentially have a premature failure down the road. If replacing the lines was not mandatory, we would have chosen Ideal Air Conditioning in a heartbeat. We plan to use them in the future for all of our HVAC maintenance!

Matt serviced our A/C units and showed us the condition things were in. As new homeowners, we were unaware of how good or bad the units were, and Matt helped us see we could be running them more efficiently and safely if he made some repairs after servicing. We went ahead with the recommended fixes, and he made all the repairs while he was here. He showed us that he really cares about his customers, and took good care of us when we had a lot of questions we needed help with. A few weeks later, Brian came over to perform a home energy audit and brought to our attention some additional issues that were causing us to leak energy and money. Although it's hard to accept that there's a lot of deferred maintenance we have to spend money on, we trust the team from Ideal and appreciate their review of our home. My father was a very successful commercial HVAC salesman in another state, and I grew up in the world of air conditioner talk and spent a lot of time at his company. The team at Ideal made me feel comfortable, like I felt with my dad's employer. I recommend Ideal - Elaine, Matt and Brian are the ones we worked with and I love that I can really trust them.

First, he listened to our particular concerns about our home and then did a complete inspection of our attic - including a bunch of pictures (because when was the last time you were in your attic?) Our home is 33 years old and totally under-insulated. Our biggest complaint was the "hot in the summer, cold in the winter" temperature of our master bedroom. He showed us the existing 2" of original blown-in insulation that remained currently in our attic and explained how upping the amount to "code" would make a huge difference. We opted for a total removal of the old insulation so that they could fill all the cracks and openings where air escapes. We also had them install a radiant barrier on the undersides of our roof rafters which will reflect additional heat from the attic area. The whole job took two days. On day one, they vacuumed out all the old insulation which they collected in a bladder-filled dumpster which had been delivered. Then they filled all the cracks and applied the radiant barrier. There was a big crew of guys here and they kept the mess to a minimum by draping plastic from the attic opening in my hall and completely covered my floors where they were walking and the wall corners where their hoses might rub. I really appreciated that because once they left I didn't have a big mess to clean up! On the second day, they blew in 40 bags of new insulation. I waited a month since the install to write a review because I wanted to live in my newly insulated home for a while before I weighed in. First thing we noticed was the sound - it's actually quieter in our house! The last few days it's been windy, rainy and gross outside - we haven't felt the need to "take the chill off the house" by turning the heat on for a little bit. We're so comfortable now. We had a lot of work done by the Commandos and felt the price was super competitive! I would highly recommend this company.

Quoted me a price that was over twice as the other quotes I got. (Who by the way actually had someone look at the project). then today I got a call from Jim who was the rep I initially spoke with. he wanted to know if I had decided. My response was yes I had already contracted with another company that gave me a quote that was less than half of what he had quoted. He responded that these cheap companies don't have the staff that they do. That's why they are cheap. If this is how this company runs their business by bad mouthing others I want no part of them. Certainly will not do business with a company that does business like this. Just one last thing! I felt that this rep was speaking with someone who didn't know better and with some customers they may have felt that this was the norm and signed up. Far too many business out there that take advantage of homeowners, many of which are seniors.

Thermo S and another company's estimates came back close but with very different approaches to cooling down a bedroom that was always hot. In the end, we decided Thermo's solution sounded more logical. In the end we went with Thermo S because of Caden's expertise with duct work. He recommended duct sealing and adding an extra vent in addition to insulation. Day of, the team showed up on time, did the work efficiently, and cleaned up their mess. The difference was instant. The air felt cooler coming out of the ducts, the A/C comes on less, the hot bedroom is cooler, and the house is quieter. I do have bad allergies/chemical sensitivities and the duct sealing was rough but after 3-4 days the smell faded and it's been fine. I would say communication with the office could have been better but they always returned calls the same day. All and all a very positive experience--I would highly recommend Thermo-S.

I didn't have to look at him sideways, so can I trust you (expecting to have to make that assessment on a big price). Nope. A business earning trust and winning fans by doing things the right way, seeking to provide value to their customers and willing to call it right when money doesn't need to be spent. Hence a five star review. What a great way to do business and Caden - well done sir!
