I had them come out to give me an estimate for removal of insulation ceiling of vent and all the other openings and new insulation. The first quote was 17,000 then it dropped down to 15,000. I'm sure that it could've dropped even more because they added three new vents covers and also the 200 before and after heating test I guess is what it was. The strange thing about that is you don't get a choice if they do it. It's automatic so $400 is added to your bill that you didn't ask for. The gentleman was very nice, but took a long time to go over all their wonderful aspects of their company. Which personally I wasn't impressed by that. You can tell me the APS really backs you up, and supports the star energy rating. Well, looking at other reviews, I'm very happy I'm not going with them. Our energy consultant Dennis O'Hara explained everything that they would be involved as far as getting new insulation in our attic. He took pictures that showed how they could improve the seal around the duct work that air was escaping. They vacuumed all old insulation out, they sealed all the holes in the attic from different electrical wires, ceiling fans , etc. , then they put new insulation that exceeded the energy standards, they took pressure readings before and after. Conor E came it our house at 5:48pm on Monday. Despite our No Solicitation sign he OPENED our screen door and knocked on our door. He opted to do this instead of ringing our Ring doorbell (even though he first looked right at the Ring). Then he quickly walked so far back from our door that he couldn't hear me talking to him through the Ring doorbell (or at least pretended he couldn't), forcing me to come to the door. When I opened the door to tell him we weren't interested (because I could see his For Energy shirt and hat from the camera) he was opening my screen door AGAIN and let my dog outside! Thankfully I was able to get my dog safely inside without him running into the street. Had Conor just rang our doorbell (or you know, respected our No Solicitation sign) this stress could have been avoided. When I asked him if he saw our No Solicitation sign he snapped back with an attitude "No. I didn't." This was a LIE -- I saw him look at it from the camera before he knocked on the door the first time. When I told him I was not interested he insisted he wasn't trying to sell me anything, was "just providing information". This was also a LIE. No one working at a for-profit company is going door-to-door in 100 degree heat after 5pm to provide information. They are trying to sell something! What's even more frustrating is there was nothing to sell us: 1. We already have solar panels (visible from the street and sidewalk) 2. A few years ago we did an energy audit through For Energy, which BTW was not a very good value! It's a shame that this is how they treat previous customers. Had issues with a high energy bill so I got an energy evaluation from FOR energy and they found some issues. Not sealed ducts and low insulation. I ended up scuffing up upwards to $5,000 and got everything fixed as they recommended. I know they can't guarantee lower KW usage but that really was the whole basis of the conversation with my sales person upon agreeing to the work order. Post service our AC is running almost all day which is unusual since we haven't changed our patterns of temperature in the house. They're asking about the ac Units I have but our units are brand new not even a year old. My energy has sky rocketed. (Photo of usage before service and photo of usage after. Our use after service is almost 60kwh higher??) Asked to have our work checked out and "sure yeah they'd come out" they said and then proceeds to text me that I'd get a $125 charge for service fee if they don't find anything wrong. I just spent thousands of dollars and they can't come do a check of their work? Seems like they talk you up to make you worried about the things you need done in the house and there has been absolutely no benefit. Rather less efficient than before. I had FOR Energy come out to my home in March to provide a quote for attic insulation and duct sealing. The technician took good pictures and made some decent suggestions about vent upgrades, which I appreciated. However, the pricing experience left a bad impression. The initial quote was around $17,000--which was shocking. Then the rep, Candis, stepped outside to "talk to her boss" and came back with a revised price of just over $12,000. It was clear this was a sales tactic, and it felt very gimmicky. For comparison, I got another quote from Koala Insulation for the same work (plus sealing two vents that FOR didn't include) and the total was $2,335--nearly $10,000 less. While FOR Energy might do decent work, this kind of pricing game and inflated estimate is a huge red flag. Do your homework and get multiple quotes. read more

I was really impressed with the service and how thorough Mike Ballard was. Our daughter had just moved into a new place and the vents were dirty so we were concerned with the air quality. He provided us a list of improvements we could do, some ourselves and was very good at calling out things that were good and had been done right. No big upsell which was very positive to come across these days and would have been an immediate turn off for me. When I returned the call I eventually was able to get the name of the company which provides energy audits to help save money on home energy bills. The company buys phone number lists from energy companies to cold call prospective customers. The work was good, the workers were professional. The house does feel cooler to where we can actually feel the air now. We went into this because our electricity bill was astronomical. Unfortunately it did not make a huge difference energy usage wise. Pricing and payment was misleading by the sales rep. He told us minimum for the pay it forward plan would be $130 for 2 years without interest. Come to find out, the minimum monthly payment on the loan is significantly higher. So now not only do we have to pay our unusually high aps bill, now we have to pay this which is about the same as the summer aps bill within 2 years. Really disappointed. I signed up to get my ducts sealed, but ended up with a dirty living room, misaligned intake grill, over $1k charged, and the worst part about it was that my ducts weren't sealed. I signed up to have my home evaluated for its energy efficiency. The sales guy was friendly and respectful. We discussed that we had our attic filled with insulation recently and that it might have caused leaky ducts. We also discussed replacing the intake grill for the HVAC. We discussed a price but when I got the quote it was for $100 more. This should have been my first sign to pull the plug on this project. The contract you sign requires you to post on your personal social media of else they will charge you 5% more. The sales guy initially told us this "5%" discount was for signing up the same day. Later I discovered it was for the forced social media post. Here is the wording from the contract: "Owner agrees to complete the selected Pay it FORward marketing items within (1) week of the installation being completed. Owner also understands that if Owner took advantage of the Pay it FORward Program and the items are not completed within (1) week of the installation being complete, Contractor will charge 5% (or percentage given as a discount) of the total invoice that was originally given as a discount." I got a call to schedule the work the same week. However, that got canceled. We rescheduled for the week after for 8am. When that day came, the workers came at 6:50am. The workers started with the blower door test to verify the amount of leak from the ducts. I expected there to be more diligence done about verifying that the rest of the house was sealed, like the fireplace. The blower test showed that the ducts were too leaky for the aeroseal treatment and they would need to seal it first from inside the attic. I expected this based on the conversation with the sales guy and the amount of dust of the registers. The attic was recently filled with additional insulation. However, the entrance has about 4 feet that needs to be moved away before you can enter. Once you're in the attic, it's between R-38 to R-49. This is a standard amount of insulation in an attic. But because of the attic access being tighter, they decided that they can't complete the job. However this was after they already took off the intake grill for my HVAC. They put the old intake grill back on, but the alignment isn't right and now it does not sit flush. After they left, I noticed black soot through out my living room. Because the fireplace was not sealed, the pressure caused the ash from my fireplace to fall out. I'm still finding the ash all over my house. All of this was frustrating but I still wasn't going to leave a review. It was until I checked my account and saw they charged me half the work. Im sure this company is capable of doing good work. But it's pretty obviously to me that they're prioritizing growth of their business over quality of work. There's no way to know what you'll get. I should mention that they did offer to come back to fix the intake grill. Based on how the process has been from start to finish, I don't trust them fixing the grill (especially since they wouldn't be making money off of the work). read more

I waited until summer to post this review to fully evaluate the results. Honestly, my experience with this company has been a nightmare. While everyone I've interacted with has been pleasant, their communication and ability to address customer concerns are seriously lacking. Antonia, the salesperson, was pleasant, but she misdiagnosed the core issue with my hot rooms, which left me with unresolved problems. She did call to apologize of her misdiagnosis, which I appreciate. However, that doesn't fix the issue that I'm still experiencing. 1. Antonia visited my home for an audit. I mentioned that a previous salesperson suggested replacing all the windows, which felt like an upsell. Antonia laughed, apologized for the previous advice, and assured me it wasn't necessary. Instead, she recommended adding insulation, sealing duct leaks with Aeroseal, and fixing the oversight around the plenum box during the AC installation. Note: the only reason I gave this company 2 stars is because I did purchase a new sliding door and a few windows for my master bedroom. Even though Antonia marked on her paperwork that my windows failed inspection she didn't suggest I replace them all; i simply wanted new windows due to my old ones being warped and moldy in the master room. I love my new windows, and the living room stays cool now. Here's my experience: Work completion: 2023 I've tried to be flexible and easy to work with, but my busy schedule doesn't allow for constant back-and-forth with this company. On September 7, 2023, Aeroseal ductwork sealing was scheduled, but the technician stated it couldn't be done due to my small attic. Personally, I think he was too heavy and couldn't fit in the attic. Therefore, the duct sealing had to be done manually, which required another appointment. Multiple appointments were made for all the work, which eventually included manual duct sealing, adding insulation, and straightening any kinks in the ductwork. Before and after the work, I mentioned multiple times how hot the living room, kitchen, and both spare rooms got, reaching temperatures of 85 degrees. After the work was completed, there were no improvements. Sergio explained that the recommendations from Antonia wouldn't provide the results I needed and suggested installing a plenum box, running new lines directly, and adding an additional vent in the living room at an additional cost. How is this the customers fault and why should the customer have to pay for their sales person's mistakes? Even though the rooms were still hot, they sent me an energy efficiency certificate. How can my home be energy efficient when rooms still reach 85 degrees? Initially, the company resisted acknowledging the problem, claiming my house was now energy-efficient and met standards. My complaints and Sergio's suggestions were escalated to the CEO. Eventually, the company agreed to add a plenum box, install a new vent in the living room, and run additional lines at a discounted rate, which improved airflow in the living room. I agreed to pay even though the initial issue was misdiagnosed. I had hoped this would solve all the issues, but unfortunately the two spare bedrooms remain uncomfortably warm, and I'm being told that fixing this will cost extra. To make matters worse, the insulation team was scheduled to come on a Friday morning but didn't show up or call. I had to reach out to Nicholas, who explained that their truck had broken down and asked if they could come on Saturday. The whole process has been incredibly inconvenient and frustrating, involving numerous interactions with the company. I told this company that I will be seeking a second opinion since my issue wasn't resolved completely. Their response was ok, maybe we could give you a discount once you get your second opinion on whatever they diagnosed the issue to be. Of course I wasn't happy with that statement! My initial hope was for all my concerns to be thoroughly addressed. Now that it's summer again, I called a different company Ideal Energy to reevaluate the work, especially in my spare rooms. I will keep everyone updated on whether For Energy makes things right by completing the unfinished work once i get my second opinion. If issues are identified and the company doesn't agree to complete the work, I'll have no choice but to consider legal action. I sincerely hope it doesn't come to that, as my time is limited. Thanks again. The work cost $11,600, so you would think my house would be perfect. To top it off, Dan, another person I spoke to, tried making new excuses for why my bedrooms are hot. He said I need to replace all of my windows and even blamed my new AC, saying it's not the right size, even though it was installed by an AC company. read more

They were very professional, with testing before and after as well as pictures of all work. Even with a recent build (2018) there was a lot of leakage at the ducts connections. I did hire for them to do an energy audit on my home as well as doing insulation work. But after they are done with the assessment and work, they are done with you. Let me start off with the sales person. Her name is Jen and she was lovely. She did however push for referrals and a 5 start rating on FB before any work was completed. I went ahead and did that because she was so convincing. That was my first mistake. Then the workers came and did the shittiest job- this was supposed to be top of the line work- sealing ALL vents in the home and garage. The first day my husband went behind them to check their work and after the first 4 vents weren't done at all- he stopped checking and called the supervisor. We were told this was an anomaly and they would make a proper repair. By this time we don't trust them and my husband is now going to go up into the attic with them to verify they do as they are supposed to. Upon return the following week- the workers are up their and step thru our ceiling- now damaging our ceiling. I am thinking WTF!!!!!!! I am beyond pissed as we have paid over $40,000 for 2 new AC units and to have our home sealed. I would NEVER recommend them and am beyond disappointed. I can't believe how easy it was to use FOR Energy to install solar panels at my home. The process takes a little while, but I had to do so little work. When they couldn't do something directly for us, they talked us step by step through who we needed to contact and what we needed to fill out and supply them with (mainly our HOA). Even with the new loan we are paying off, we have decreased our electric bill by 80%. We are loving the fact that we went solar and I can't recommend FOR Energy enough! Do NOT recommend - Classic bait-and-switch scam. I met a ForEnergy sales rep at the Mesa Swap Meet. He asked me some questions about my home efficiency, I responded, he invited me to have a free energy audit performed, I asked him how much services normally are after the audit, he said a couple hundred dollars (spoiler - It was actually several thousand). Let's start with the good parts about my experience, although there are only few. The rep who performed my initial free audit was very thorough, climbing through my attic and taking lots of pictures and giving me a thorough breakdown of the services offered. For being Free, I was highly impressed with the service I received so I decided to move forward. And had ForEnergy delivered on the services that were described and contracted, I likely would have been very satisfied. I had contracted for new insulation and an Aeroseal duct sealing, since 2/3 of the duct's in my attic are not accessible due to being a flat sonaran roof. The Aeroseal service is not cheap, which I knew up front, but I choose to pay for the service since there was no viable alternative with a flat roof. I was assigned a Project Manager named Nick. Nick seemed perfectly pleasant on the phone in advance of the scheduled service, but the first red flag was when the day of service arrived and Nick did not show up. Two ForEnergy technicians who did not speak much english showed up as well as the Aeroseal technician. The Aeroseal technician performed and inspection of my attic vents and determined that my ductwork was not suitable for Aeroseal and that, rather than waste my money, he would cancel the seal. I agreed and thanked him for his honesty and then called Nick. Nick did not pick up so I left him a message, he called me back about an hour later and said that unfortunately the two ForEnergy reps on site had gone ahead and started ducttaping around my vents manually since the Aeroseal guy left. I argued and argued but he refused to refund my for the Aeroseal, so instead I paid a massive fee to have duct tape on my air vents, something I could have done myself in 10 minutes for free. The next day, the insulation guys showed up. They were also not from ForEnergy, they were a subcontracted insulation vendor, so any Facebook ads that state how ForEnergy does "everything in house" is just a blatant lie. I have no issues with the insulation install, although, had I contracted directly with the company instead of through ForEnergy, I would have saved at least several hundred dollars. After the service, ForEnergy issued me a report of how they "increased" my homes energy. They give my home an energy efficiency rating, in which 1 is a very efficient house and 7 is "serious leaks". I scored 10.7. In summary, I paid ForEnergy several thousand dollars for them to slap some duct tape on my vents, contract to some other vendors, and "increase" my home's efficiency to an off-the-chart terrible score. read more

The consultant, Adam, was very detailed in reviewing the report, including going over every item (with pictures), highlighting what types of DIY fixes I could do and what they recommended be completed by professionals. It was refreshing to not have high-pressure sales tactics used and given time to make the best decisions for my home and my budget. The installation crew was professional, policy and they left the house with no messes, inside or outside. Update - I just went through my electric bill to see how we're doing. Overall, we had window tints added to two south facing windows, re-sealing of our AC ducts and a few other gaps in our attic, as well as new insulation. With those changes our SRP bill dropped 30.7% during the hot months last summer compared to the year before. Since the work was done between May 2019 and March 2020, the average drop in our bill was 25.6% (the overall number is lower because we don't use nearly as much electricity in the winter). I'm very pleased with the results, and I'd recommend people consider getting this work done before the summer starts. read more

We were told we would get a confirmation courtesy call the day before. We'll that day I was in meetings and missed the call. I didn't think much of it cause I had the appointment. Day of the appointment, about 10 minutes before, I Get a call asking to reschedule. The reasoning was I didn't confirm. Confused and embarrassed I agreed. Hung up. My experience with FOR was dreadful and I would not recommend them to an enemy. One day job to seal attic and install insulation, took over 4 months. Poor workmanship, rude sub-contractors. Quality inspector kicked out insulation to gain access, would have provided him a ladder to gain access to air handler room, but this is typical of their quality. Left gaping holes in insulation for 11 days till they returned. Initial installation of insulation was substandard, had to have them come back. Paid for report and there final report is a joke. Sean. The new return that you installed in my UPSTAIRS master bedroom that was supposed to remove additional heat and circulate air better was ducted to the DOWNSTAIRS a/c unit. So, it was useless unless the downstairs a/c unit happened to be on at the same time. The downstairs duct was much closer and easier to connect to, so either your crew was intentionally lazy or just completely incompetent. Take your pick. FOR energy has been a horrible experience. I never write reviews but felt obligated to write one so others will not be screwed over like I have been. I am actually spending more monthly now than I was before. Couple reasons not to go with FOR energy: 1. When they say you will save money on your bill this is referencing only the bill and not total you will spend a month. Example) current bill is 100 but solar panels make bill 60. But now you have to pay for the solar panels themselves so you actually pay 120 monthly. 2. They do an "inspection" to make sure the equipment will work properly with your house. What the equipment (load controller) actually did was keep shutting my AC off since it pulled too many amps. Later I was told I could buy a new AC or raise the load controller amps so it would not turn the AC off (defeating the purpose of it). 3. When I asked them to please come fix the load controller they sent another sales rep to explain to me my house needed to be more energy efficient for home to work and wanted more money. Even though I was quoted off of my current usage and home efficiency. This company has failed to deliver on what they promise. And their only resolution has been to buy more equipment. I would avoid at all costs doing business with this company. Please take my advice and stay clear of FOR energy. read more

Just got my roof insulated because it wasn't before and I was spending a lot of money during the summer and winter. I also got the aeroseal throughout my ducts which was very convenient and efficient. I already feel a difference in my home and it's only day one!
