Walked in looking for a specific shoe, the Adidas HU. Popped around the store by myself (super small store) and couldn't find it. Luckily, employee named Sade greeted me with a huge smile and even cracked a joke with me. She took the reigns in trying to find me a similar shoe on the wall but we found that it just wasn't what I was looking for. Sade (while multi-tasking) offers to order it online for me! She was super knowledgeable about specific brand's shoe sizing & taught me that Nike is more narrow and Adidas is more wide. That's called going above and beyond to educate a customer! She also saved me from ordering the wrong type of shoe because my shoe only comes in kids preschool and men's kids. I had no clue what to order and definitely wouldn't have ordered the sneakers if she wasn't there because I would've been too confused. She was just about to ring me up when I found a discount code on my phone that she unfortunately couldn't apply so she was nice enough and told me that I can just stay here and buy it on my phone myself to be able to apply the 10% off. I get my Adidas HU sneakers mailed to me in a few days and it's really because of her help! Sade is an exemplary employee and I hope her manager reads this and allows her to start training other employees on proper customer service. read more

Until last week, my only pair of sneakers was over a decade old and conspicuously ugly, dirty and bulky and unfit for anything but a trip to the gym. I'd been using my Birkenstocks as walking shoes, which is more or less fine in L.A. where I don't usually travel long distances on foot; but less fine in New York, where my mom and I spent hours a day crossing town to catch various rare Pokemon. I decided it was finally time to get some new sneakers, and Manhattan being Manhattan, a Foot Locker presented itself at just the right moment. The store was spacious, with one huge wall devoted to women's sneakers. As we walked in, a put-together-looking Asian woman was buying a pair of Nike running shoes in my size, and because I am easily suggestible and have few fashion-adjacent ideas of my own, I tried on the same shoes shamelessly the moment she left. I picked out like one other pair to look at, but they were less attractive and more expensive, and also were made out of like one piece of fabric so the shoes had no tongues, which kind of freaked me out and made them hard to get on. I don't understand trends in sneaker tech. I ended up buying those Nikes, and they've served me pretty well so far. I also got a few pairs of no show socks that actually stay on, making them superior to all other no show socks I've owned, which tend to slip off my heels and gather hatefully at the middle of my feet. Service here was great. Winston was a super helpful, friendly sales guy, and check-out and all that were easy. One thing worth noting, though: both pairs of shoes I tried on were readily available for less money online, and the Foot Locker store didn't accept coupons for the Foot Locker site. I like to shop brick and mortar and certainly got value from trying on sneakers in store with Winston's help. That said, Foot Locker is an enormous company, not a neighborhood boutique, and I feel like their policies could be a little more accommodating. In any case, I'm glad I finally got myself some sneakers that aren't hideous and embarrassing. Good selection of shoes and the employees are super nice. Nathalie, I think her name was, had some great recommendations for shoes! I came in because I recently got diagnosed with falling arches, and needed new shoes. It had a good selection to choose from, and was able to find some shoes that looked nice and provide some pain relief. Nathalie was super friendly, even though I had to try on a bunch of pairs to find shoes that didn't hurt. Really appreciated it! read more

Just another Foot Locker location in the city. This location does get all Jordan releases and other House of Hoops releases such as the Foamposites. I came here to pick up some Lebron 9 Lows the other day. The staff was helpful, and I was able to get my shoes without a problem. If you're looking to get on the releases, this place does get a good amount of pairs (around 60), but you're still going to fight through all the other hype beasts in line. The location is pretty convenient though. It's literally right next to the 7 train so you can be in and out with your fresh pair of kicks before someone jumps you and ruins your day. read more

Kind of weird that I would go out of my way to review a Foot Locker as my first review of the new year, but I had a really good experience here that needs to be shared on the interwebs. I kind of detest buying shoes. It's not my favorite experience. You need to talk to people, so it's not the 'moment of zen' type of atmosphere I usually like when I buy crap. There's no way to get around the people aspect. I'm also used to going to Alec's Shoes in Nashua where, well... everybody knows your name. After living in NYC for four years, I went back to Alec's at the end of 2011. I bought shoes last Christmas and was literally helped by the mother of one of my classmates in elementary school. I don't love the Foot Locker on 86th St., but I did buy shoes that lasted me a good long while there with Jackie L. back when she was still living here. So, knowing that I can run to the one on 42nd St. during my lunch break, I opted to go here. The best part about it? I was one of maybe two or three other customers. I think I went at around 3:00 PM or 4:00 PM. Basically had two people who jumped to help me, but somehow weren't annoying about it. The guy who rang me up was really nice. He also mentioned he was leaving the store in a week, though... so odds are, you're not going to get him. The didn't have my size for the first thing I wanted, so I ended up splurging and buying something I wanted more that was slightly more money. Didn't really mind. I'm probably going to go back here when I need shoes again, which is really the greatest compliment you can give any shoe store. read more

Footlocker on 42nd St in NYC is the worst. I went into the store and asked for a sneaker that was not in the store inventory in my size. They said they would order it and have it shipped to the store. I paid with my debit card to have it shipped to the 42nd St store for pick up. I followed tracking through USPS and saw when it was delivered to the store's address with my name on it. I called the store for over an hour with no answer, before deciding to pop up to get my shoes that I paid for, that I knew was delivered earlier that day. I took the hour and twenty minute commute on two trains and got to the store. It took 15 minutes of 3 associates and a manager to look for my "paid" shoes that nobody could find. Finally the store manager made up a cockamamie story of how the shoes got mixed up and was taken by the mail person back to the post office. Really people?!!!! I asked for a refund. The manager said I couldn't get a refund. Well I guess not if they made it seem like I picked up a pair of sneakers shipped to me, in my name to the stores' address. I contacted the Footlocker HQ in NY, and left a voicemail. NOTHING. No courtesy call back or nothing. Sent them an email. The email to HQ was kicked back. Now I really becoming discouraged. To add insult to injury, my pending bank dispute stated that the store said the sneakers were delivered to me. When?!!!! What did I sign upon pick up? Nothing. So I lose my money. Nothing hurts more than losing sneaker money during a pandemic where money is very tightly budgeted. This store has professional thieves working under their brand. Small people such as myself get robbed and it is a shame. I encourage others to go to another Footlocker where the workers are honest and customer service is key. read more

I do not like to write one star reviews. They leave me with a bad taste in my mouth for the rest of the day. But, if the shopping experience itself was worser than that, then I do not mind a little bad taste in my mouth. I went with my elderly parents to buy a pair of shoes for my mother. Agreed, it was a Saturday evening and there was more crowd inside this store than in Times Square. It still does not justify poor customer service or shoddy treatment of people who are anyway determined to buy. It just does not make sound business sense to me. Bear in mind, all we wanted was a pair of shoes without being too picky about color or design (only criterion was a comfortable fit). We were repeatedly shunted between the sales associates and runners. After about 30 minutes inside the store and two sales associates later, we were told to go to the kids section to find a better fit. And then, they did not have the size (Sorry, we do not have that size in any of the colors in that brand) - or so they thought. I had to point to the fact that if there was a single right shoe in the display in a certain size, there is a fairly high possibility the left shoe might exist too. After many trips to "wherever they store their footwear", they came up with the left shoe. The folks in billing are busy talking to each other while barely "managing" to attend to customers. If you want to buy footwear, it would be much better to go somewhere else. If you want to write a book on how good businesses could lose customers, do not think twice. I called this store to ask about a sneaker which showed online was available for pickup. Thankfully I did because it was unavailable. When I tried to explain to the the person who answered my call it was showing as available online he kept cutting me off saying if you tried to purchase for in-store pick up it will not let you. I FULLY understood that I would not be able to purchase the sneaker from this store anymore and was just trying to explain how they should change the online status of how it showed they had the sneaker available for purchase at their store. Not a great place to shop if you're not a teen. Selection is mostly for style, not substance and the teens who work there take an inordinate amount of time to retrieve anything from the storeroom. Tried to get all my shopping done during my half-hour lunch break, only needed three things. This, apparently, was not possible. read more

I placed an order online went to pick it up. Took them about 10 minutes just go look for the box in the back. Then the cashier took another 15 minutes opening the box, instead of her giving me my stuff she stood there breaking the box the package came in and then finally gave me my stuff. They are all rude and not one friendly or helpful person at this location. read more

Returned a pair of shoes in store. Biggest mistake ever. Still haven't seen the refund after a month. The store associate had no idea how to process a return. Called over another associate, who said they will ship the shoes to the warehouse, which would refund me. Refused to give me a receipt or tracking number. One month later, I still haven't received any refund. Called customer service and went back to the store multiple times and no one was able to help. FL needs to step up its game in training its employees. Avoid this scam place at all costs. read more

This is the worst customer service I have ever seen. I liked the shoes, but walked out without buying them because I didn't want to risk giving the guy a commission. All he did was talk to other sales people the whole time. He didn't bring up two pairs of shoes I asked him for with no explanation. Then when I told him I wanted to try a different style, he simply walked away and continued talking to his friends instead of getting me the new shoe. Look, I have a job too, and it's not fun. Today, I came in, got what I needed and was given as much help as they could to answer my questions nicely. I finally went into this Foot Locker today. Store was clean, staff was cool. There were two people that helped me. A chick in the beginning, who was super helpful. Then it was a cute guy who was also very nice. He brought my sneakers to me so I could try them on. No pressure to buy anything. Average amount of folks in the store. No complaints. The most appalling service I have ever received not only did the staff actively ignore me when I tried to get their attention but when going to queue to purchase my items I was stuck waiting for 20 min because the staff member clearly didn't know what he was doing and when I finally got to the front of the line he just walked off! Worst customer service!! It was an absolute waste of time to even go. I'm in desperate need of a pair of new tennis shoes and walked in ready to make a purchase. There were only two people working in the store, and even though neither of them were helping anyone they didn't ask if I needed any help. I finally asked one to help me and she didn't know much about the shoes. I finally picked two I wanted to try on and she said she'd go get them in my size. Fifteen minutes later go by and she has not come back. I look around the corner and see her at the registrar helping someone else. I walked up to her and asked if she was getting those shoes for me. She had completely forgotten about me and asked if I could go get her the shoes to remind her. I asked if she had at all looked for them and she said no. I was pretty furious and walked out. Multiple other customers were also waiting around and pissed off and one left after us. Awful customer service, which is unfortunate since they have a pretty decent selection.
