I unfortunately had the worst experience at this location. I browsed around the store 4 times looking for a good shirt to purchase for an event that I have coming up. I was not greeted when I entered and nobody offered me help, even though there were employees(one woman of asian descent and one african american man) standing by watching me have a hard time looking for a shirt. Once I started to look through the shirts, I did notice that 3 people of a different background than myself walked in and were immediately greeted by the employees who were watching me struggle. I didn't know the kind of business I walked into and I'm very uncomfortable and unhappy with the way I was treated or lack thereof when I truly needed assistance. This is a terrible experience with this business and unfortunately I will not return. read more

This is my new favorite store. I love places that sell slim fit shirts with no pockets. Here you can get them without spending $150+ per shirt. I like Hugo Boss, Pink etc but at CT I can get 4 shirts for $200. There suits and ties are also reasonably priced. I am going to do some serious damage here. read more

This review is mainly for the dress shirts that I've ordered from CT. While I do like their quality of shirts, the fit is pretty horrendous and I always have to get alterations done by my tailor which adds up in the end. I even ordered the extra slim fit and it literally feels like it's sized for an overweight male than it does a fit person. The belly/waist area is over sized and baggy. I get that everyone has a different body type, but I highly doubt they understand what slim fit is or what "extra" slim fit should be. Again, I do like their shirts, but I always have to spend additional cash on getting these altered. May look into other places considering the overall cost to get a product that I'm happy with. read more

Charles Tyrwhitt is the epitome of High Quality London dress shirts. Oh, and cuff links. Customer service at this store here is very nice. The sales people are always eager to help and assist you nicely with purchases and returns. You can also order online and return at the store too. They have sales every now and then, and it seems like it's a good deal. Usually the deals are like three dress shirts for $150 or something like that, which is great because one dress shirt (for men and women) is usually like $99-$139. However, if you are a petite Asian woman (5'3" and under, 110-115lbs or so), note that their clothes probably won't fit you ALL that well. I got a few dress shirts here, size US4 (UK6), and they were still a little bit roomy on me. And, if you find something you like and you are a US4 in Charles Tyrwhitt land, you better get it fast because those sizes have a tendency to sell out, and they usually cannot backorder for you. Sadness. This is what happened to me, so I don't have that lavender Charles Tyrwhitt dress shirt that I drooled over in the store. I did buy a light blue merino wool vest to put over my dress shirts, and the material was so soft and nice! They even included this "Care" card - in fact I'm so scared that I will ruin the softness of the vest that I haven't quite washed it yet :X ... to the dry cleaners, it is, then! Oh, if you sign up for the mailing list, I noticed that their catalogs look shiny, but they don't have women's stuff in there. Bummer. read more

Can't say enough about the customer service we received from the assistant manager Mariann, at the Seventh Ave store, regarding the purchase of my husband's suit for our wedding. Our original wedding date was postponed because of COVID, and when we chose a new date, the suit he purchased no longer fit. On less than 2 weeks notice, Mariann had a new jacket, pants and shirt shipped to her store (from 3 different places including the UK!) and altered. I used to be a huge fan of Charles Tyrwhitt but I will never shop there again! They are such a scam! They secretly instituted a new policy earlier this year that they will charge a "$6 restocking fee" for every item you try to return for a refund (in store or online - doesn't matter). After purchasing 6 some items like I have in the past, and attempting to return 2 immediately after I received it, I learned that there was a new restocking fee. Unlike other companies who have changed return policies, CT made no effort to email existing customers to inform them of the change, and hid it on their website at the bottom of their FAQ with an asterisk. To make matters worse, after I contacted them for support, they made no apologies as to the new policy, and when I asked why they did not send an email to existing customers, the response was, "it was a business decision. We did not need to send an email". I will never shop Charles Tyrwhitt again. read more

Terrible customer service. They sent me a voucher, I went to the store to use on it a couple of items. When I realized that I previously purchased one of the items and tried to return it and get a refund, they refused. They applied the voucher amount to one of the other items I purchased, but not the one I tried to return. So, they basically forced me to buy from their store instead doing the right thing and returning my money. Further, they would not give me an additional 20% discount for being an employee of one of the nearby banks. Yet, one of my colleagues received the discount coupled with the voucher he used. read more

One of my co-workers always is dressed very well so I asked him where he gets his shirts and he told me Charles Tyrwhitt. I signed up for the emails and within a few days they had an incredible sale (shirts starting at $29..) I didn't know what fit I was (regular, slim or extra slim) so I stopped into the store. I wish I could remember the salesman's name since he was awesome, but I had just gotten off work so I was pretty beat. Either way, I told him I wanted to figure out what fit I was, so he asked for my size and then gave me three shirts, one of each fit. The whole thing took less than 5 minutes and I found out I was an extra slim (really not that slim, just well fitted, as I am 5'11'' and 190lbs). I went home because I like the filters on the website (size, fit, non-iron, etc.) unfortunately the sale had cleaned them out of most of the colors I was interested in, but I will definitely have an eye out for the next promotion. As a guy who usually wears brooks brothers shirts, I thought the quality was very similar and the fit was much more 20s somethings than brooks brothers (which is more 50s somethings). read more

Up until only recently, the only piece of Jermyn Street in New York was Thomas Pink... and I've never really been a big fan of their styles. Imagine if you will, a retail operation with real customer service, a great return policy, a fantastic tailor in-house, and quality upscale formal/work wear that won't bore you to death. That place exists and it's called Charles Tyrwhitt. I'm a fan, a huge fan. The best time to shop here is during sales, hands down. The deals are unbelievable. Get on their mailing list to get the catalog and sales notifications. Check their website. Don't sleep on it! I've purchased gifts for brothers, bosses, lovers, and my husband here, and every gift becomes an instant favorite. My husband now owns several shirts, suits, a cashmere sports coat, and who know what else from here. When we were planning our wedding and wanted to steer clear from the tuxedo route without loosing the black-tie feel, we came here, and my husband bought another absolutely gorgeous suit and had it tailored in no time. There is also a woman's section in the store, and while I'm sure the quality is up to par with the men's, the variety and flair isn't as unique as their men's line. I have to say... love the CT shirts and have even picked up some suits from here... but it seems to be very hit or miss with their staff. Last time, I had a great person working with me. This time... not so much. The end of the day, had to have my items ordered and shipped as they were not available in store. 2 out of 4 shirts were ordered incorrectly. How do you place an order for 4 shirts and pick 3 different sizes and cuts for them. The problem is that you don't see this, as receipts are emailed to you. I've come to really like Charles Tyrwhitt dress shirts over the past one or two years, and the prices just keep dropping! They used to have the big 4 shirts for $200 deal. Then, if you got lucky you'd catch the 5 shirts for $200 sale which came around once or twice a year. Now, it seems a multitude of shirts continuously come on sale for $30-40 each. I would certainly expect this to coincide with a decline in quality, but so far I just don't see it. I guess they're just trying to dump the excess inventory? I consider myself average build (by no means slim) but I go for the extra slim fit shirts because they fit just right. Even if you have a broad physique or you're on the *slightly* overweight side, try the slim fit or extra slim fit shirts, you may thanks me! They have a much sharper, custom fit without that baggy feeling from a shirt that is too big. But hey, if that's your thing then go for the classic fit. There's also plenty of suits, ties, blazers, etc. which I don't have experience with, as the shirts are definitely the main draw here. This is actually their main location in the city (50th and 7th ave.) with greater quantities and varieties than the Madison Avenue store. Solid customer service as well. If they don't have exactly what you want in the store, chances are they can order it and you will have it within 1-2 weeks. Occasionally some items are on back order though. read more

What I waste of time my visit to the website was. I saw a pop up ad for three shirts at $39.95. I checked out a number of shirts and decided on the three I wanted to order. When I went to the cart, they were there with the sale prices. As I completed my personal info and went to pay, the prices had reverted to the full price for each item. The $120 order had ballooned to a $270 order. I got out, cleared cache, and went back in - the original sale prices were gone and now four shirts were selling for $49.95 each. When I chatted with someone from customer service, I was told that the prices change if you don't make a decision and also they controlled by an affiliate. Caveat emptor! read more

To be honest, you won't get anything special for $29 (cuz Sonny gets them all) so sign up for their mailing list and go early. Great quality, great variety, great fit, great value. I own about a dozen Tyrwhitt shirts and they have served me well over the years. They have been undoubtedly the best value in mens dress shirts. They have weathered the test of time, with most of them 3-6 years old. I have regular and slim fit shirts. The problem is that CT hasn't adapted well to the slim fit mega trend. They do have an "extra slim" fit, but that fit isn't really that slim. Now for full disclosure, I have a tough time with shirts because my neck is relatively big compared to my sleeve and chest dimensions so shirts have always fit me loosely. I haven't minded in the past, but working in midtown manhattan, baggy shirts aren't in the mainstream anymore. So I will need to find another source of shirts as I fully adopt the slim look. As far as the store itself goes, it is nice enough, with a heavy brit emphasis. I don't mind that they have "try on" shirts, though they should really launder them more frequently. I kept passing this store and it looked like they had nice clothing so I decided to stop in last night. Upon arrival in the store I am not greeted and completely ignored for over ten minutes. Yes I kept track. So I figured self service was how the store operates. So I pick a shirt and try it on. Nice but the 36" sleeves are just perfect. So I hunt down a clerk to ask how much I can expect the sleeves to shrink. Now this is interesting..... The clerk scolds me for opening a shirt package and trying on one their "special" pre washed shirts. Seriously you provide no assistance to customers no signs and then scold people because they are not aware of your special procedure which hadn't to tell them about. Nice. Even though they ok clothing ( nice shirts and mediocre suits) there is no way I will shop there. read more

I went to both stores in Manhattan, got measured and tried on a shirt or two. Not bad, I thought. I decided to place an order through the internet, and there was my first mistake. The factory delivery service for Charles Tyrwhitt is absolutely horrible. 6 Shirts took 6 weeks to be delivered. The shirts were delivered 2 at a time so CT can avoid security issues with shipping? First I have ever heard of this issue for shipping of shirts. The shirts I tried on at the store were business shirts. Three of the shirts I ordered on line were casual shirts; my second mistake. CT's business and casual shirts have a completely different fit. The casual shirts do not come close to fitting read more

Service is always courteous and prompt, even though I rarely go in except to return merchandise I've purchased from their online store. The return process itself could be a bit more efficient - it always seems to require more time and paperwork than I would expect, but if there's a better quality dress shirt to be had for $50-75 dollars, then please let me know. read more

Excellent shopping experience. I had to return a shirt I ordered from the Internet --from CT's UK site--for a different type in the store. Despite the fact that I had paid for my shirt in british pounds, the salespeople told me to just grab something off the shelf that I liked. The shelves are all meticulously organized by neck size and sleeve length, so 16" x 34" is just below 16" x 35", and the entire store is very clean. I picked a shirt I liked, she punched some numbers on the computer, and handed me my new shirt and a new receipt. Extremely simple and pleasant. I will be back again very soon. read more

Excellent shirts at an affordable price especially when they come down to the $30 range. If you can combine that with a couple of promo deals from livingsocial or elsewhere, then even better. Even though I have no complaints about the quality of the clothing, the customer service at this location leaves much to be desired. Like many of the other reviews, you need to personally hunt down a staff member to assist you or else they will just walk around and rearrange shirts into the wall. Also when I asked about exchanging a shirt from an online order, the worker lectures me about their policy won't accept exchanges of the sort and to go back to the manager that said I can. I didn't appreciate his tone and surprise surprise that the next worker I asked with the same question accepted my exchange. The shirts are great and I will continue my business through their website but I would think twice before shopping at their B&M locations until there is some positive uniformity in their customer service. read more

I was greeted by Jairo and after I explained my dilemma, he was exceptionally understanding and very helpful!! I received the return and my online sale price was honored to get any 3 shirts at that price! Happy Happy Joy Joy!! Jairo remeasured my sleeve length and gave me a shirt to try on we went from there! The sizes here fit the average American male. That means they lean taller, broader shoulders, and bigger belly. The quality of the material and stitching seems decent though. Quick tip: If you're not sure what size you are, ask and they will measure your neck before suggesting a size, fit, and arm length. When they give you the shirts to try on, they'll give you one hanger with 3 shirts: each shirt has the same neck and arm size but has three fits: regular, slim, and extra slim. Great service, and this is a really busy location; this is bigger than the other location on Ave of the Americas. I came in on a Tuesday, about an hour before closing, and the store was mobbed. There were easily 15 customers there and quite a few people in line in front of me. The quality of the shirts and ties here feel really good and the prices are reasonable. However, I recently purchased a tie without looking closely and when I took a second look at home, I realized there was a really odd and obvious bulge on one side due to poor stitching. read more

Called into the shop today. I buy shirts on line often and I am very happy with the product. I'm on holidays from Australia and my goal today was too buy a new suit. I called into the shop wearing shorts and a t-shirt. Unfortunately I could not get anybody to assist me. I tried on some jackets and looked for assistance with sizing. Sales assistant had no interest in guiding or advising me. Disappointing as their website is a totally professional and the service great. My wife and I walked out after 5 minutes. I can't say enough good things about this store. I've bought all or most of my shirts there for the past 2 years. Great quality, great cut, great fit, great merchandise. I love the fact that for every shirt, you can either buy it with french cuffs or regular buttons and they offer such a wide selection of collars. But here are the reasons I gave them 5 stars: My girlfriend got me a pair of boots for Christmas. She picked a half-size too small. I went in and exchange them with no problem (still within 2 weeks). I never bought dress boots before so I got my actual size not knowing I should have gotten a half size to one full size higher. I took the shoes with me for the holidays when, after wearing them a couple of times for a longer period than the 5 minutes you try them on, I realized they were too tight. I called the store and explained my situation (I had exceeded the time allowed for returns) and they told me to just bring them in. I came back 3 weeks later and they exchanges them with no problem. I was amazed.... About 2 weeks ago, I was wearing a shirt I bought there under a suit. I have a fountain pen I always carry in my suit's pen pocket. For some reason, the pen leaked and stained the shirt, I loved that shirt and I get so many compliment on it. I was devastated. When I took it to the dry cleaner, They told me they would try but couldn't guarantee they'll be able to remove the stain. They said it actually might get bigger so I took my shirt back. I called the store to see if I could buy the same exact one and I tried to describe it over the phone. The lady I spoke to took the time to look at my customer file, find out which shirt I was talking about and told me it was out of stock. She told me to bring the shirt back before she could order it. I really tought it was to make sure we were talking about the same shirt. I stopped by the store after work one day and couldn't believe my ears when she told me she would go ahead and order a new shirt for me and it would be mailed directly to me, all at no charge. Mind you this is my mistake. I stained my shirt. There was no defect, nothing.... Wow was all I could think. I am definitely a customer for life. Keep up that great customer service. charles tyrwhitt is probably my favorite shirt. high quality fabric, nice patterns and colors. perfect collar too (in terms of shape and durability). i like their satisfaction guarantee: you can return the shirt within 3 months (yes, even after you've worn it to death), no questions asked. i've done that once (decided that i don't like french cuffs), and the policy does work. but the best part about tyrwhitt though are their awesome end-of-season sales! a few weeks ago i bought 3 shirts for $29 each! that's even cheaper than the $40 shirts at h&m (also good shirts, btw, but nowhere near the quality of tyrwhitt). read more
