We had a terrible experience with this store. After purchasing a men's jacket (amongst many other items), we prepaid for tailoring and then it got stuck when the tailor refused to alter the item for the agreed upon rate. After 6 weeks of trying to resolve the situation, hours of phone calls, and a rotating door of employees who did not follow up or fulfill their promises, we finally got a refund. They are disorganized and I would never shop there again. read more

Ahhhh.... Ever get tired of shopping in packed, cramped stores where you have to get out your binoculars & hunting jacket just to find a salesperson? Or waving an item past the door, just so someone (even if it's the security guard) will pay attention to you? Well, in Reiss you don't need to worry about any of that. Granted, the prices are a little much, but, the quality of the items is great and the service is outstanding. If the prices are more than you were hoping for, walk straight to the back of the store and scan the sale racks, they've got some pretty awesome deals if you're there at the right time. read more

I went in the other day to quickly check out their sale items and grabbed two items. One item didn't fit well, so I decided to return today. I was refused a return with refund from the Asst Mgr, as it was a sale item. This policy was not mentioned the day of purchase, nor does it say on the policy at the register, nor on their receipts. Service when ive been here is hit or miss. The men far out perform the women in the service department. I had the pleasure recently of meeting a sales person named Mustafa. What attention and such a delightful young man. His excellent manner made me buy much more than I would have normally spent there and in fact made me call my then fiancée to come over as she was was shopping a few blocks away. She did and Mustafa helped us both. She also ended up buying a few items, one was. $500+ jumper. I know that Reiss doesn't NEED our money, but if every penny counts then they should employ more like him and those pennies would seriously pour in. I know he made a return customer out of us. Thank you. I hope to see management recognize the value in your work and soon realize you should be managing and training others in excellence. read more

After my Prada, Versace etc clothing shopping friend (guy) told me about Reiss, I always wanted to check this place out. One fine day, browsing West Village me and my friend finally walked in. We loved it. A bit pricey? A bit. But it satisfied us with the good lining and finishes in great fabric. we didn't expect this. Things look well made and look like will last long. I found this gorgeously fitting white - not sure what kind of fabric - all A lined and fitted coat - maybe for early spring/fall. It was just so me!!~~ price $550. Hm it is getting warmer and no way it would be sold out. My friend told me we should come back for sale. Actually the guy who told me about Reiss, mentioned about the sale and it was a steal. He said it was 30%+ sale and he bought a lot of nice dress shirts. I will be back for the coat. The dresses were well contructed and the silk blouse was thick and solid fabric. Loved the leather belts that are fine suede and well stitched. I have a feeling that this will be one of my favorites. read more

Used to love this store but had a pretty unpleasant with them last weekend. They miscalculated my total which on its own is no big deal; I pointed out the mistake and at first they refused to believe me. Finally the manager came in and entered everything on the machine correctly and showed me the correct total. I have the math skills of a 10 year old so to me making a mistake is completely understandable but I also think the next thing to do after making a mistake is to smile and apologize. Not be annoyed at the customer who points it out. Not what i would expect from a nice store and enough to discourage me from going back. read more

Reiss has great, totally overpriced clothing. And I love it! Hats off to Reiss for their customer relationship marketing. Last night Reiss held a private shopping event for customers - not unusual but a nice way to connect with customers and shove free drinks in their hands. But on top of that a 30% discount was extended to all purchases made at the event. Mama got a new murse, mmkay! So I used the private shopping event to snag the murse I'd been salivating over for a month. The associate who helped me underreported the price - he told me the price then looks at the tag and realized it was a bit more. Riding on the "bank error in your favor", the associate rang it up at the lower price and still gave me my hard-earned 30% off. SCORE. Associates are attentive, overly helpful and typically attractive. The clothes of course are gorgeous and generally out of my price range, but I still love it here. read more

Finally found a salesman who knows what he's talking about -- and willing to help customers with style questions. Lyndon at Reiss was ridiculously helpful when I went to find a good-fitting suit. He not only explained different cuts, styles, etc. -- but made suggestions on other clothing matters. He took at least an hour to help and I ended up finding the best-fitting suit I've ever worn in my life. I would definitely, without a doubt go here again. read more

Chain store that runs like a little boutique. A keen attention to customer service with a desire to accommodate and please... Just bought a jacket here; Not only were they super gracious about holding the jacket for me (Thanks Emma- long hours at work kept me from making my way down there sooner), they also reinforced the buttons that were slightly loose. Of the two stores in New York the one on Bleecker is better simply because of the staff. They are attentive, nice, and not pushy at all. They make reasonable suggestions and even told me that their twice a year or so sale was coming up (before I bought anything). They even remembered that I had a wedding coming up! The W. Broadway store is also excellent, but the staff is less attentive & seemed surprised when I actually asked to try something on. As for the merchandise, every single item seems special & that is a high bar for men's clothing. Every piece that I have ever tried in either store fits my slim frame perfectly & usually looks better on me than other designers. The prices are very high, but think of it as an investment, especially if you are getting a suit. Otherwise, maybe wait for a sale. Either way you won't regret your purchase. read more

I have never tried on anything and went damn that fits great. At Reiss, I did. Twice. They were having their spring/summer 50% off sale. I found two dresses on the racks that were worth trying on. I fell in love with both. Ken was helping me out and he was ever so friendly and helpful. Their return policy for me, the one who hates trying on clothes sucks. It's exchange or store credit within 14 days. Even for sale items. So i pretty much have to try things on there to be sure. Ken gave me the 411 on how they have two sales per year. The next being winter in December/January. I'll be stashing dollars aside now saving up for that one. You really can't put a price on great fitting clothes that make you look great and feel great. Worth the pretty penny spent. I think I have found my new splurge store! read more

I love Reiss, and I love this location best of all. The sales people are soooo much nicer than the Soho location. Plus, I'm pretty sure they have better inventory. I recently scored an awesome bag here that the Soho location never even stocked. All around a great store with gorgeous, high quality clothes. And friendly staff to boot! One downside: returns are only accepted within 14 days and good for store credit only. Hate that. read more

What originally drew me to walk into Reiss the first time were the mannequins. They're expressions are so snobby and intense, I felt confident I'd like the clothing. This is my favorite place to shop, ever. I fell in love with Reiss when I was in London, and fretted that I would not have it when I got back to NY. Upon coming back, I realized there were 2 NY locations, one of which a block away from where I used to live in the West Village. I love this store. The clothes are amazing. The service is good. The only drawback about it is that it is very expensive, relative to the prices in London. They are using a 2$/£ exchange rate plus maybe 10% for an "import premium", when right now, the exchange rate is closer to 1.5$/£. read more

I love Reiss, and I have to thank my friend for introducing them to me before the world went gaga over Kate Middleton and her fashion. Their dresses are what I usually go for since they flatter most body types while still having design elements that make the style interesting and unique. Some of their dresses are a little more body conscious than others, but its obvious which will require going commando. My friend dragged me into this location with a scream at their gigantic sale sign, which is always dangerous. Their store layouts always seem exactly the same, no matter which location I go to. And the staff primarily leave you alone to browse to your hearts content - my friend only started a dressing room when she asked someone to so that she could more easily grab more items off of the racks. We didn't buy anything that day (yes, I got suckered into trying on a few things, too - it's so hard not to when you shop with a girlfriend!), but we always come back...either to the store or online... read more

A star for the great location and another star for the helpful associates who tried very hard to get me to buy more pieces However, avoid the in-house tailoring!!! For the price the alteration work, it was extremely sloppy and of very low quality. The stitches to make a deep V-neck dress more modest were highly visible and crooked. It should have been hidden or at least sewn straight. I even more was surprised by the indifference by the associate as well when they saw this horrible alteration work to their beautiful piece. They did offer to redo with an internal hook & eye instead. However, the hook & eye came back and its completely visible as well. Imagine seeing a cheap 5 cent metal hook and eye sticking out from the front and center of a clean line dress that retails for $350. This is the thoughtless tailoring you will get here. AVOID AVOID AVOID (in house tailoring at least). read more

Really great clothes, which is what my review for a retail store like this comes down to. I think it would serve you best to see what they offer on their website, and then come into the store. The clothes are great quality, but be wary about buying things at the end of the season. I purchased a peacoat from here, but the buttons were worn and loose (I'm assuming from many people trying it on). The sales staff is helpful, but to the point that they are trying to sell a product to you. They are very pushy (I went to both the SoHo store and the West Village one, and they are all very aggressive - maybe it's what they're trained to do, or maybe because it was the end of the season). You're on the subway and you find yourself staring at someone's ensemble...im willing to bet they got it from Reiss, or something akin. I never thought it possible for clothes to make you hotter, but a man trying on some of the clothing gained about 2 points just by swapping jackets and a nice shirt...and I didnt even have to drink to notice lol So i discovered this during the Lucky Boutique Crawl late September, and am in love. But then, the girls at Lucky never disappoint, do they? My shoe fetish might be taking a backseat to my newfound coat fetish, and I promise you will EASILY spend a grand if you get a coat, purse, or some combo from here, but it will be well worth it! I have been cursed to have a weird body shape in my opinion ( im extremely slender but curvy all at once- my own antithesis. Brit and Gabby found a skirt that fit me like a glove and flattered my frame. Plus, unlike many high end stores that stare at a group of minority shoppers and assume we're just window shoppers, the sales team here was soo accomodating and hepful! I love Reiss, so I left an extra star on there. But the sales associated at this particular location are complete Neanderthals. I got a pair of shorts altered. Was promised it would be a week. Got a call a week later. When I called back, no one could find them. I spoke to 3 people, got thrown back and forth, and almost every time a person picked up they asked me what I needed help with. JESUS! So after getting a call back and them still putting me on and off hold a few times, they THINK my shorts were only sent out yesterday. I'm not happy and they don't seem to care. Also, beware: they are sort of desparate with their sales tactics. "Omg we have the same style i was totally gonna suggest that." And, "have you seen this? Im gonna grab it for you in your size", and "How great is this bag? It reminds me of Dolce&Gabbana". And just pushing a thousand garments on me. It totally puts me off shopping. This is not the first Reiss i've been to with sales associates like this, so maybe it's a company-wide agenda. It's icky. *and also, i don't want anything that looks like another brand or designer. There's plenty to love in Reiss' style and quality, but they also provide excellent service. I've bought several coats there--their men's outerwear is really exceptional--and, after the button came off one of them, I took it back to the store to see what could be done. Normally, I'd have just dropped it off at my tailor, but it was so shortly after I'd purchased it, I decide to take it back to the source. They repaired the button, but managed to sew one of the pockets closed, in so doing. Unfortunately, I didn't realize it until i work the coat the following year. So, I took it back, again. Not only did they not bat an eye that a year had passed, rather than send it out for repair, one of the sales associates whipped out a sewing kit and repaired it herself, on the spot. One doesn't come across service like that every day, anymore. read more

Reiss is a sleek store in the West Village. I passed by this place a couple of times, but finally decided to check it out. The layout of the store is pretty cool. There are focal points as soon as you walk in and you are drawn to them. The store is spacious and well lit. My money tree died a long time ago along with Genie. So I tend to go for practical and affordable clothing. With that said I took a look around and the cheapest thing I saw in the store was a tie that was on sale for $30. A knit hat that you could easily find in Chinatown for less than $10 was $85. For that price that wool better have been spun from Dolly the cloned sheep. I did see some pieces that I could find in other stores around the city. I'm really into clothing and it's always good to see what's out there. You will always find things that catch your eye, but this store isn't for me. read more

Wonderful coats, I've made 3 purchases over the years and they still look the same as when I first bought them. I also get compliments every time I wear them and get asked where I got it. Reiss is definitely not well known here unless you are into fashion or more tailored fit clothing. Hmm though they've made their way into bloomies...I would say the pants and skirts are a good alternative to Theory and also more wallet friendly (especially during their sales which are the best) and beats any other sample sales (incl jcrew). I feel the stock here is more complete than the west village location but they can check the other store locations to see if your size isn't available here. I've never had a problem with service here, overall friendly and see that they will offer opinions if asked for. Haven't tried (didn't need) tailoring requests though. I don't know why but never got tops here. Maybe a bit on the conservative business attire side which my job doesn't require. Also have to say most pieces here require dry cleaning but that's not a problem if u buy the launderess washing collection at the container store. Ok, I did some other brand advertising here but the wash is truly a lifesaver from the cleaners! Go for the sales! They do several markdowns as the time goes by. read more

I bought a winter coat here that immediately became the coolest piece of clothing that I own. It's unique, pretty edgy, and looks like no other typical black jacket. More importantly, it fits my slim frame, which can't be said about most of the larger chain stores. That being said, it's a really expensive store. So their clothes are cute, but I have to admit..at full price they are a bit too expensive for their quality. They are Theory prices and quality wise, if I were to pay full price I would buy Theory since it's amazing, classic and modern. Now...Reiss does have sales quite often... so when they do, feel free to indulge. Some of their style tends to slightly cheap, but they have a unique take on current trends in their styling which is a better quality and far more interesting than other stores and brands. So I do always find a number of things to indulge in when they have their seasonal sales. read more

Moving forward there will be a bunch of other brands I'll bear in mind before looking at what Reiss has to offer generally speaking. What can I say its by far my favorite store in New York to shop in for clothes. Never is it really overly crowded like those department stores such a Bloomingdales. The staff in their is just amazing with knowing their product and what they are selling which to me goes a long way. The prices on the clothes are pretty pricey and if you catch a good sale grab it and go. The quality of the clothing and the cut is was really sells me. read more

They say "free delivery on orders over 200 euros" but it is not entirely true because the return is AT YOUR OWN EXPENSE. Be careful they are not serious as online shop. I even spoke to a manager from their customer service and he basically did not even care about the feedback. I will never buy again from them nor recommend it to my colleagues. read more

I first discovered Reiss when the rest of the world did, ie when Kate Middleton wore a Reiss dress for her engagement photo. I love everything here, from the dresses to the jackets to shoes. The suits are incredibly well tailored, and I've been able to wear each one I've purchased off the rack without any additional alterations. The brand is expensive, but the clothes are timeless. Worst shopping experience ever. A simple alteration job turned into a nightmare. If their clothes fit you off the rack, great, if you require any alteration, I would highly advise to shop elsewhere and save yourself a ton of headache. It all started when I purchased a coat back in February and took it to this location to get it pinned and altered. I requested to get the arms taken in, sleeves shortened and the back taken in. A week later I picked up the coat, only to later realize that THE TAILOR HAD ONLY ALTERED ONE SIDE OF THE COAT. I.e.: all the requested alterations had only been done on one side of the coat - the left side of the coat was completely unaltered. I dropped the coat off again and was assured that this would be taken care of. A week later I again picked up the coat - but THE TAILOR HAD SHORTENED THE SLEEVE BUT NOT THE SLEEVE LINING - the lining came out when you put it on. I also requested the back to be taken in a little bit more. Third time's a charm? Not so fast. Again I picked up the coat but THE TAILOR HAD STILL NOT FIXED THE SLEEVE LINING. So here I was, with a coat that finally fit properly but the lining on the left arm was so long that it was hanging out of the sleeve. So again I had to give the coat to the store to get the sleeve lining fixed. Finally, after more than 2 months of back and forth I finally got the properly altered coat. However, by now, I have to another 6 months before I can actually wear it out. During this process, I called and left a message for the Reiss manager but she never bothered to return my call. I called Reiss customer service who agreed to refund me the cost of the alteration - a small token considering the amount of time I wasted dealing with this nonsense - and only after I demanded to return the coat as-is and to get my money back. The first and last time I will ever shop at Reiss. From now on I will stick to Club Monaco - infinitely more reliable. read more

I recently ordered a skirt from this store over the phone and had the best customer service experience ever. Having never met me they (including the manager) bent over backwards trying to help give me customer feedback on the item and helped accomodate my confusing shipping details. I had only seen the item online, so they were helpful in explaining the fit according to my measurements, etc. I am a huge Reiss fan, and I am very happy to know they have a group of dedicated employees working for them...even in a busy Manhattan store. Beside the high quality of clothing, Reiss has the highest calabre of customer service....you definitely get what you pay for here. I'll definitely visit this store in person the next time I'm in NYC. read more

I don't visit it as much as I use to because they just built a Reiss in the Short Hills Mall in NJ but if you're on Bleeker, I high recommend stopping by. The clothes look nice and the prices are mid-high range (think boutique though it's a chain store from the UK). I made my first purchase, a black wool coat with a belt ($580) about 3 weeks ago. The first day I wore it, two buttons just fell off. Now, I find the belt fraying and holes in the pocket linings. Really? For almost $600 a coat I don't even wear every day is falling apart? I adore this store. Fabulous dresses, great suits, cool coats. Trendy without being fad-y, Reiss is always on my must stop tour when I hit the West Village. It reminds me a bit of Searle, except without the ultra-aggressive pushiness. I'm a big fan of this store and that was even before I came across Emma. But can we just talk about Emma? I saw a dress online in a very specific blue I need for an upcoming wedding. I was reluctant to order online without trying the dress on, so I thought I would call the store and ask if there was one in stock. I don't think I have ever come across a more pleasant representative in my life. Emma told me that the dress was from the earlier spring season and might be hard to find, but she would be happy to check the Internet returns for me in case there was one I could come in to try on. She also suggested another dress in that color, even asking right away if it might be the wrong shade of blue. She took complete initiative, in the most pleasant of ways, calling me back within an hour to give me an update, and offering to check with the floor girls for any new arrivals in that color to pull for me. She's kind of awesome. Just above and beyond in every way. read more

I went into Reiss about an hour before closing to make a quick exchange. I found the staff overwhelmingly helpful. Marcos was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. The staff helped me select two great dresses to get with my exchange credit. I have been to the Reiss on Columbus Ave a few times and it is much smaller by comparison and the staff is nowhere near as attentive. Reiss clothes are great for young professionals and THIS store is much more youthful and spacious compared with the uptown branch. I made out like a bandit with their sale. Reiss is a terrible brand with bad quality. I bought a coat for 450 euro in the Nederland and the coat is ruined. I will never ever buy anything from this brand again. People please don't waste your money because it's not worth it. They have put a lot of effort in promoting the brand but no effort in quality. Shame on you Reiss read more
