After many months, I returned again to Foolish Craig's, this time with a group of 7 friends, for dinner last night. I'm fairly certain our waiter's name was Dave. He was perfect, just the right amount of attentiveness--not too much or too little. And he always noticed just before we needed refills. Good timing. This place is great. They change their menu in evolving ways...it was quite different and much better than the last time I was in. Every plate on our table looked beautiful--loved the presentation. And the food tasted good and was affordable. People at our table ordered various entrees: trout, steak, large meal-sized salads...all excellent. Check their menu on-line if you can, it seems to change often. There were rude customers in the restaurant, but until the very end when we were walking out the door they didn't bother us. I think that it was probably nothing personal, and had more to do with the fact that it was after 11 when we were leaving and these other people were quite drunk. So it goes. read more

I ordered from this restaurant via Uber Eats and apparently the Uber Eats drivers stole my meal TWICE! Since it was picked up twice and never delivered. The owner of the restaurant called me to sincerely apologize and to let me know that he was coming to deliver my meal himself. The chicken and waffles were delicious! The chicken was juicy and crispy, and the waffles were fluffy. Highly recommend this restaurant for it's great food and excellent customer service as well. read more

Meh. The atmosphere was cool & we were excited to eat here as we just got into town after a 5am flight & this was our first meal. Good looking menu with lots of variety to keep the family happy. Unfortunately everyone unanimously agreed the food was disappointing. Wife had breakfast, me & the boy had a burger. Everything was really over cooked & there were some small things missing on one of the entrees (cheese, eggs not cooked to order). Telling when a 14 y/o says the "burgers not that great". Serve staff was friendly but not super attentive. On a positive the iced coffee was really good. As long as you keep your expectations low, it's one of the choices along the strip there. read more

Right down the street from the classic music poster store is Foolish Craigs, a Boulder institution and popular place for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and the occasional late night outing. We popped by for a quick lunch - my 15 year-old daughter had a great burger and fries and our server recommended the Reuben. WOW. Delectable beef on homemade bread - Yummy. *Pandemic Review* We rocked the million dollar bacon, Brie appetizer and the corned beef hash for brunch today and it was wonderful. We were able to eat inside with awesome social distancing and our waitress, Jenna, was happy and fun to talk with. I had lived in Boulder for years before going here even though I'm a foodie and have walk past it millions of times. Judging by their decor and signage, it wasn't a place I was about to spend my money at, although it always was full. I went once, and it was the brunch place I always wanted to know about in Boulder! I was very excited to go again. Months later we decided to go for a hearty brunch to cover over a Saturday night caused hangover ( I think it's important to note that I was not in a bad mood, just hungover and actually quite high/jolly ;) ). I ordered the same exact thing as last time, and received less options then previously and was granted with attitude when I asked about it and given random extra items on my bill . . . So I contacted management and told them about my experience and the fact that my heart really wanted to like this place, but the experience I had made me feel like never going again, ever, even though this place was literally 4 blocks away from my previous residence. They eventually formally apologized and gave us a gift card to re-experience their restaurant. Basically, doing way more than I could ever ask for. I just wanted them to know this kind of bad experience was possible at their restaurant, and they fixed it and invited us back = excellent customer service. So I forgave them, and went back for an early breakfast wit me lady. As normal, ordered the fried chicken benedict with sausage gravy and grits on the side. A few complaints... first of all, they didn't call out my name loud enough. We were standing outside the entire time. I went inside to ask them how much longer, and the girl said she called my name 10 min ago. We had to wait 10 min longer. Second, the coffee and the food took forever to come out. It took the waitress 15 min for the coffee and 40 min for the food. But she was super nice. My dad didn't particularly like his French toast, but I thought the house potatoes were delicious. The meals were on average about $10, so not too bad. I do like the environment though! Super homey and cute. read more

Great place unique menu. We have been Snooze loyalists for years, and Snooze is my favorite breakfast restaurant in the country, but Foolish Craig's is a nice alternative. We came to this place after it was featured on Triple D. The place is snag, huge portions, satisfies the brunch craving. However, if your expecting a "fancy" brunch place, this definitely isn't it. It's more of a mom and pop diner place as opposed to a modern brunch place. The food was above average, but I wouldn't crave it. We went at 10:30 on a Saturday morning and had a 25 minute wait for two people. I ordered the porktastic crepe and my bf got the breakfast tacos. The crepe itself was good and the portion was huge!! The idea of it was good, but the execution was meh. The sweetness of the pork filling was overwhelming. I think it needs more salty components. The pear compote would do better served on the side, it was like pure sugar. The soysauce glaze was excessive and just didn't go well with everything else. The dark soysauce taste was overwhelming Breakfast potatoes were good but had no salt on it. The breakfast tacos were pretty good and the better of the two choices. I think this place has a thing against salt or something, the spicy sauce was way under seasoned. I'm giving this place four stars because of the value and creativity. Here is the deal: decent prices, o.k. selection, cozy atmosphere, and apparently when you add lemon juice to creamer it curdles? Well, it does...and my tea was ruined. The real question is now: is this common knowledge? I didn't think so, but the people I were eating with had a good laugh. The waitress however was not amused: I got 'The Look' asking for a new cup of tea. Eh. I've eaten here well over a dozen times mainly for their savory crepes, but had never thought about writing a review until now. This past weekend I decided to try a desert, quite out of character for me. Ice cream sounded fantastic on a warmish late February day, and that along with a crepe filled with caramelized peaches and almonds almost made me consider growing a sweet tooth. All the items I've tried on the menu have been tasty, service is great, and the decor/ambiance is pretty cool. The place becomes a tad fancier during dinner hours as their menu is upgraded. I've been here once for that and the organic braised duck with spinach is one of the better duck dishes I've had in Boulder. Unfortunately I can't quite give Foolish Craig's 5 stars because I've never absolutely craved their food, or even suggested it to visiting out-of-towners. read more

I love this cute little place! Even though it is a fairly small establishment, the waitstaff accommodated our large group of 12 by setting up an area upstairs for us. I was impressed with the willingness and short wait on a busy Friday late morning. As for the food, it is hard to go wrong! After much deliberation, I decided on the Florentine crepe which was delicious! Very flavorful. It came with a side with the choice of cheesy grits or breakfast potatoes. I chose the potatoes, which in my opinion were a tad bland. However, they had 3-4 hot sauces available upon request which did the trick for me. I would recommend this place for anyone! The service was awful. My food was terrible. The waffle hard as a rock, the eggs undercooked, the sausage cooked to a crisp. The grits were a soggy mess of watery disappointment. The brunch drinks were lackluster. What made the entire experience so bad was the waitress. It took us 15 min before our table was approached. No apology. We ordered the food and both of us barely ate it. She never asked if we were happy nor addressed the quality of food served to us. She could see when we asked for our check that we had not eaten it and still she didn't care. We had to flag her for everything and I mean everything even though she walked right past our table when servicing her other customers. I have no idea why this place has good reviews. Upon entering Foolish Craig's, I knew I'd like the place - it's cute and has a good vibe. We ordered a Bloody Mary and a Sherpa Chai - the Bloody was good but the Chai even better. (strange to put the two up against each other?) I ordered A Bunch Of Hooey (potatoes, mushrooms, peppers, onions) which was great but the fat girl in me wanted to order the Buttered Rum Caramel Crepe Cake. NEXT TIME. While everyone else is choosing Snooze or Lucile's, I think I'll choose Foolish Craig's. read more

Burger was juicy but slightly underseasoned. Fries were crispy and not greasy. I liked the ambiance of the restaurant - looks almost like a gastropub that can double as a brunch spot. I sat at the bar and sampled a Denver beer called Colette which was great and a compliment to my lunch: Foolish Huevos. I tell the truth, I shuddered on the first bite it was that good. Walked in and got a seat on street side patio lickity split. I ordered a half Greek salad and bowl of red chili, the shallot vinaigrette was homemade and delish. My boo got a burger with thick cut fries that was fantastic. Think juicy burger with goodness dripping down your arm and plenty of cheese, no scrimping here. we went here while visiting Boulder and it was decent. They had a nice selection of items on their menu, and a good mixed fruit bowl for my son to eat. My husband and I both enjoyed our meal, left feeling satisfied and good. The problem is, I don't even remember what I ate there. I usually have a really good memory of food because I eat, a lot, and the fact that I really don't remember this meal..... Even right now writing this, I am struggling with what to say. I would have to look at the menu again right now online to even jog my memory. That being said, its good food. I remember that after we left nothing upset my tummy and we strolled along pearl street feeling satisfied. Popped into this place with a couple of colleagues for a quick lunch today. This was a funky, hippyish joint, with colorful artwork and random paintings hung throughout the building, creating a fun, inviting vibe. The crepes on the menu originally drew me to visit, but I ended up splitting the sandwich of the day (a salmon BLT) and the Spinach Walnut salad, with my colleague. The sandwich was nice and flavorful but the salad, I thought was overpriced barring that it was mainly just spinach with a few toppings thrown in. Our server was a bit aloof but overall friendly; we just had to wave him over for our checks after sitting there waiting for a bit. Overall, it was an enjoyable spot to have a quick lunch, but a bit overpriced in my opinion. Might have to come back to try one of the crepes though. read more

Boyfriend and I went for brunch last Sunday, and this place is definitely not worth the hype. My boyfriend got the featured dish from diners drive ins and dives which was the corned beef hash with 2 eggs on top and I got the classic eggs Benedict. Side potatoes were not good at all, and everything was very mediocre. We also got the butter rum crepe cake and that had a weird flavor and was also not good. Service was fine just kind of slow but our drinks came out after our food. Place was super packed and cramped but I would honestly not recommend this place to anyone unless they were looking for bland over hyped breakfast. I got the Fuhgetaboutit savory crepe and my boyfriend for the Hot Strawberries and Nutella sweet crepe. Both were fantastic! Mine was like a chicken parm wrapped into a crepe! To die for! The savory crepes come with a side of sweet grits or potatoes. I got the potatoes. They were perfectly seasoned and delish. I didn't get to try my boyfriend's sweet crepe, but he said that the hot strawberries instead of cold was different. Not bad, just different. He Devoured the ones on the top, lol luckily there were more inside the crepe. And his came with two heaping swirls of creme! Which is great, because places seem to skimp on the creme, but not Craig. As I said, mine was delish! It came with some red sauce on the top, but I asked for more on the side because there was no sauce inside the crepe, which made it a little dry for me. However, not having the sauce Inside the crepe helped it keep its fluffy texture and not fall apart. The atmosphere was laid back and super chill. The staff were all pleasent and all around wonderful people. There is art Everywhere (some are available for purchase I think. I didn't get around to asking). There is an upstairs and outside seating, which is nice. It's right next to Snooz, so if you're having trouble finding it, find Snooz and it's to the left of it. Parking is street parking or the garage kitty corner from the establishment. On Saturday and Sunday it's free to park in the garage if you don't want to fiddle with street parking. It's right next to the Pearl Street Mall. So if you're having at Pearl Street and want an awesome place for breakfast or brunch, Craig's is just a street over! Overall it was spectacular and I will most definitely be back again! read more

mmmm. I had the hummus cucumber sandwich here. It was really special to me, which means it was tasty. The bread was soft and the cucumber gives a nice crunch. A little heavy on the hummus... but that is perfectly fine for me. We sat down outside. It's nice to be seated on Pearl Street because you get the sights and sounds. The service was a little distant, but that may be because we were rushed for time. My colleague's coffee cup did remain full when asked if she wanted more. read more

Tbh, I was a little disappointed, but only because I had such high expectations for this place after hearing that it had been featured on DnD. I got the chicken duxelle crepe and a tiramisu crepe cake. The portions are definitely substantial, so come hungry. The crepe was stuffed with chicken, veggies, and creamy white sauce and came with sides of home fries and broccoli. It was decent, but not great. The crepe was a little too thick, the chicken too dry, and the whole thing too salty. I've had better crepes for cheaper. The cake was similarly disappointing. It was literally layer upon layer of stacked crepes, slathered in chocolate syrup with very little coffee flavor. But to be fair, my standard of comparison was Lady M. The whole meal was $20, which I guess is fair. Overall, I left feeling underwhelmed and slightly sad. Perhaps I just didn't go on a great day. read more

What a great little place! Amidst all the hubbub of Pearl Street lies this little gem. A chalkboard sign sitting outside enticed my family and I in.... And our party of was quickly seated. Diners, drive-ins and dives has been here, so we looked up those items first. Instead we picked different items, based on our servers favorites... Hippie Burger, the Reuben, salads, Huevos Rancheros. Everyone eating had nothing but glorious things to say... Phrases like: This is the best Reuben I've ever had. That burger was the best I've eaten in a long time. I can't stop eating this salad! The waitress dropped off a plate LOADED with potatoes, red peppers, LOTS of bacon, and sautéed onions, with a thin, perfectly cooked crepe serving as an envelope for all of it.
