Overpriced and mediocre. My omelette was overcooked, rubbery, and bland. For Merlin's sake, Hagrid's made me a better omelette. The house potatoes were quite dodgy. Given that they're one of Foolish, Foolish Craig's most common sides, I was expecting much better. They weren't even bad in a consistent way- half of the potatoes were underdone, and the other half were so overdone they made an unfortunate hollow sound when I prodded them with my fork (and I like very well-done potatoes). Stopped in for brunch yesterday morning and could not have imagined a better experience. Chris, the manager, seated our group immediately and took the time to talk us through everything the area had to offer as we were visiting. He was so helpful that our group affectionately now refers to him as the Mayor of Boulder. Our waitress was equally as pleasant and the food was great-- especially the crepes! I was seated immediately right around lunch time. I ordered a signature Bloody Mary with their house mix and bacon. It tasted a it off at first, but after letting it sit for a couple minutes all the ingredients did their work and it was quite good... I have a high standard for a good Bloody Mary and many places fall well short. For food I ordered the breakfast tacos with chorizo. In retrospect I should have added tomato, onion, and maybe lettuce with them. They were pretty tasty and the hot sauce on the side had good flavor. I came here when in Boulder last year with my parents after looking for places to go for brunch. I had Snooze in mind, but this place seemed like a good fit since my father's name is Craig. In fact, on a Friday afternoon it was quite busy while Snooze looked empty. I did love Snooze when I went there a few months later in Phoenix, but this place is special since it is a local independent restaurant versus a chain. We started with sharing the Warm Brie that had a delicious apple topping. Then we shared three entrees. One was a crepe named after Homer Simpson (The Homer D'Oh) that had amazing hot fresh vegetables wrapped by a delicious crepe called Duxelles. We also had an omelette that was truly yummy (can't find it on the menu or remember the name). However, our favorite was the featured item on Diners, Drives, and Drive-In's, the Butter Rum Caramel Crepe Cale which is to die for! I would certainly recommend to anyone visiting Boulder. read more

Located on the famous Pearl street in Boulder, CO. We went for lunch and were not disappointed. The seating was quick and the service spectacular. My brother-in-law took us here while we were out in CO visiting. He really talked highly of Foolish Craig's so I had very high expectations. Let me just tell you IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! It is a pretty small place but the personalities and the friendliness of the staff are exponential. Our waitress (I really wish I had gotten her name) found out that some of us were from out of town and took the time to recommend some areas to visit. Now - the food...we all scarfed up our food like we hadn't eaten in weeks. I ordered the southern breakfast (ya know - being from VA and all) and it was SO SO good. The gravy was so flavorful and the portion of food was great! If I lived closer this would be at least a monthly thing for me. Solid place for brunch. Coffee was great, fresh and strong. We ordered the duxelles mushroom crepe. Very savory and delicious. The crab cake appetizer was also very tasty with the chipotle sauce. I really wanted to love the place. We came one day because the line at Snooze was absurd and wanted to try something new. I love the feel and the funky paintings on the walls. We got the biscuits & gravy. They came out cold and didn't have much flavor at all. We ended up pouring tons of salt and pepper on the gravy that was way too thick. The millionaires bacon was pretty tasty but I've had better. I got the strawberry banana pancakes. It was just a pile of pancakes with strawberries and bananas in a pile on the side. The pancakes needed some flavor. The strawberries & bananas were probably my favorite part of the meal. Boyfriend got the French toast and it was average. Definitely get the real maple syrup because the other stuff is separated and as runny as water. Coffee was ok. Boyfriend got an iced americano that he really liked. Boyfriend and I went for brunch last Sunday, and this place is definitely not worth the hype. My boyfriend got the featured dish from diners drive ins and dives which was the corned beef hash with 2 eggs on top and I got the classic eggs Benedict. Side potatoes were not good at all, and everything was very mediocre. We also got the butter rum crepe cake and that had a weird flavor and was also not good. Service was fine just kind of slow but our drinks came out after our food. Place was super packed and cramped but I would honestly not recommend this place to anyone unless they were looking for bland over hyped breakfast. I ordered from this restaurant via Uber Eats and apparently the Uber Eats drivers stole my meal TWICE! Since it was picked up twice and never delivered. The owner of the restaurant called me to sincerely apologize and to let me know that he was coming to deliver my meal himself. The chicken and waffles were delicious! Meh. The atmosphere was cool & we were excited to eat here as we just got into town after a 5am flight & this was our first meal. Good looking menu with lots of variety to keep the family happy. Unfortunately everyone unanimously agreed the food was disappointing. Wife had breakfast, me & the boy had a burger. Everything was really over cooked & there were some small things missing on one of the entrees (cheese, eggs not cooked to order). Telling when a 14 y/o says the "burgers not that great". Serve staff was friendly but not super attentive. On a positive the iced coffee was really good. As long as you keep your expectations low, it's one of the choices along the strip there. read more

We were able to eat inside with awesome social distancing and our waitress, Jenna, was happy and fun to talk with. A few complaints... first of all, they didn't call out my name loud enough. We were standing outside the entire time. I went inside to ask them how much longer, and the girl said she called my name 10 min ago. We had to wait 10 min longer. Second, the coffee and the food took forever to come out. It took the waitress 15 min for the coffee and 40 min for the food. But she was super nice. My dad didn't particularly like his French toast, but I thought the house potatoes were delicious. The meals were on average about $10, so not too bad. I do like the environment though! Super homey and cute. read more

The service was awful. My food was terrible. The waffle hard as a rock, the eggs undercooked, the sausage cooked to a crisp. The grits were a soggy mess of watery disappointment. The brunch drinks were lackluster. What made the entire experience so bad was the waitress. It took us 15 min before our table was approached. No apology. We ordered the food and both of us barely ate it. She never asked if we were happy nor addressed the quality of food served to us. She could see when we asked for our check that we had not eaten it and still she didn't care. We had to flag her for everything and I mean everything even though she walked right past our table when servicing her other customers. I have no idea why this place has good reviews. Craig's menu seems to have tripled in size since I've left, and the quality is not what I remembered it to be... nor is the service. Our waiter seemed to be aggravated by the fact that we weren't ready with our order the minute we sat down... yeah sorry about that. Then halfway through the meal he comes and puts the check on the table... classy. The fuhgeddaboutit crepe was decent, as was the black bean burger. However, I'd say, go back to your southern roots. We stopped into this place because Mountain Sun was packed. We should've ignored our grumbling tummies and been more patient. Love that place. Anyway - Since we saw that Foolish Craig's had decent reviews on Yelp and was featured in DDD, we decided to give this place a shot. Needless to say, we left feeling like suckers. We were seated reasonably quickly here but our waitress was slow and inattentive. That didnt put my boyfriend and me in the greatest of moods since we were already hungry from doing a hike in the morning. My bf ordered the chicken soup to start and the black bean burger w/ sweet potato fries. I ordered the BLT w. Guac & the spinach salad. I thought the food was average and the BLT was just fine. Nothing to write home about, but the quality wasn't really the problem. The waitress had put us in a bit of an annoyed mood as 1. she didn't bring the soup out first. It came with the entree. Wuh? Who eats a soup while their main course gets cold? 2. Once the food was delivered, she only checked on us when we were nearly finished with our meal. Anyway, when you have great restaurants within walking distance, I would've expected better service, but now I know the reason why Mountain Sun was so ridiculously packed and this place, just a few doors down, wasn't. We came to this place after it was featured on Triple D. The place is snag, huge portions, satisfies the brunch craving. However, if your expecting a "fancy" brunch place, this definitely isn't it. It's more of a mom and pop diner place as opposed to a modern brunch place. The food was above average, but I wouldn't crave it. We went at 10:30 on a Saturday morning and had a 25 minute wait for two people. I ordered the porktastic crepe and my bf got the breakfast tacos. The crepe itself was good and the portion was huge!! The idea of it was good, but the execution was meh. The sweetness of the pork filling was overwhelming. I think it needs more salty components. The pear compote would do better served on the side, it was like pure sugar. The soysauce glaze was excessive and just didn't go well with everything else. The dark soysauce taste was overwhelming Breakfast potatoes were good but had no salt on it. The breakfast tacos were pretty good and the better of the two choices. I think this place has a thing against salt or something, the spicy sauce was way under seasoned. I'm giving this place four stars because of the value and creativity. The service is good, but food could use some fine tuning. I would go back to try some other things. read more

I wanted breakfast at 11a and wanted to eat at Snooze but there was a 35 min wait so I came over and there was no wait. Sweet! I ordered the Foolish Craig since after all crepes are their specialty. The thing was gigantic - probably good enough to feed 3 people! There was so much bacon..mm bacon! It was good but way too much! I asked for a box and took it home that day. I later heated it up and it was just ok this time. I'm guessing crepes aren't that great for reheating. I wish I would've tried a dessert crepe. Full disclosure: I did not have a full meal here, only dessert. In an attempt to knock another DD&D location off the list, we stopped here for dessert while on a day trip to Boulder during a long weekend in Denver. Foolish Craig's is the quintessential Boulder place, in my opinion: cool, quirky, laid back, interesting... I had The Whole Thing Crepe, which consists of walnuts, nutella, chocolate and banana.... AMAZING. The eclectic decor tried to come home with me when a small plastic toy frog that was stuck high up on the wall attempted suicide and bombed the table. Accidental souvenir! The other eclectic thing about Foolish Craig's was the clientele. There was everyone from families to couples, obvious tourists to obvious locals, and a table or two full of upstanding young gentlemen obviously nursing hangovers. The next time I'm in the area I'll definitely stop by for a full meal. I ended up much more impressed with our dessert locale than the lunch spot we picked first! We had an awesome experience here! It's close to a lot of cool things in Boulder like the strip mall. We got a drink at the bar while waiting and all the staff was eager to help us until the bartender wasn't busy. They're all very knowledgeable and nice. Drinks are great & you don't get skimped on the alcohol. The food though... WOW! French fries are a must try and any Benedict's look incredible. No complaints! read more
