    Beet Risotto
    Jeanee V.

Food Lab has gorgeous interior and attentive staff. Unfortunately the food I offered was so bland I couldn't get myself to finish the generous serving size. I would not recommend the beet risotto, but I'm sure other dishes are delicious. I'm sure I'll have better luck next time!

Service was excellent. Friendly waiter. Food was exquisite. Tried the mango coconut curry shrimp pasta (highly recommend it). My husband had the duck inside pasta, don't remember the name, it was good but the shrimp pasta was so good. The decor and atmosphere is beautiful. Overall I would highly recommend this place.

Pancakes with ricotta and fig sirup

Yummy food, great service, and beautiful ambience! I got an Americano and pancakes with ricotta, fig syrup, and pumpkin seeds. The pancakes were great, just like in the US, and the whole plate was good, but not as flavorful as I thought it would be. Maybe I needed a little more syrup than what they put on it or maybe the ricotta could be enriched with some other kind of cheese or something. While there is no side of bacon on the menu, the server and kitchen were happy to provide it when I requested, and it was delicious. My bacon experiences in CZ have been touch and go because sometimes it is very different than I'm used to. This bacon was like bacon from home (US). Yum! The service was all very quick and courteous.

Came here for a unplanned dinner one night since we didn't know what to eat. I have to say that their plating would get 5 stars, but their food was just mediocre. Decor is beautiful and the place is spacious and very comfortable. I had the tiger prawns for my first dish. This dish was actually not bad, but I don't understand why of all the 3 shrimps I had, 2 of the 3 were deshelled but one still had shell on it. The one with the shell felt like it was just randomly dropped on there. Aside from that, there was a nice mix of flavors. The dates added sweetness to it which was interesting. The seabuckthorn threw me off at first, but I found that it brightened the holladaise sauce. My friend had the soup and she thought it was good and the bread with it was also good. The other dish I ordereded wasn't as good as I wanted it to be. I had the veal neck with juniper, baked pumpkin, hazelnut and elderflower. This dish was beautiful but it did not work for me. The meat didn't have flavor, even though it was very tender. The juniper sauce was cute display wise, but it added fruity flavors to a flavorless meat. The hazelnut added texture nut not much flavor. Pumpkin added sweetness but when I ate all of it together, it just didn't tie well together. My friend had the octopus with quinoa and she felt that it was ok too. The presentation was more appealing than the flavors itself. Service was also not great. It was hard to get a waiter to attend to you at some point. We wanted pay for the bill but the waiter was hardly seen. We had this on the last night at Prague and I was disappointed that we ended it with that meal sadly.

Interesting restaurant; the concept is taking traditional Czech dishes and contemporizing them as small servings (tapas). As an added touch, the music being played complements the restaurant theme. All the music is retro, going back to big band, but performed in a modern style, very creative. Really fabulous. Not well known yet, you can normally get a table without a reservation, even on the weekends. That will change.

As soon as we walked in we were asked by a hostess were we would like to seat. The atmosphere was very lovely and cosy. Great design inside from the very front to the back. The service was good and the waiter knew what to recommend us for the starters. The beef tartare was among the best i ever had but the pork belly dish was the king. Just my opionion, my very own taste. I even had a chat with the chef about the dishes. All in all its a must. Great job guys!!!

    Eggs Benedict

Really enjoyed my eggs Benedict! The ham was thinly sliced and very flavorful. Hollandaise sauce was perfect! Not heavy and gooey like you find some places. The decor was nice and there was a piano player playing softly. Overall it was a lovely breakfast experience!

    Breakfast on the sidewalk

We ate here twice and the food was great. Also had interesting combinations of food. For lunch we had the sesame balls with prosciutto, pistachios, and raisins with a little miso sauce. It is off the starter menu. Very good. Also cool inside on a very hot day. Breakfast outside with good egg dishes and delicious bread. Helpful waiters.

I made a reservation a month in advance, but did not know I had to specifically request for tables outside on the river. When we arrived, only a few outdoor tables were taken, but was told the rest were reserved, so we were seated indoors instead. When we finished our dinner, the same few outdoor tables were occupied. I don't know why the restaurant couldn't just stagger the guests for the outdoor tables according to their reservation times.

It was my second visit to Prague so I was taking my time to see more than the "must see things." As I said, I stumbled onto the restaurant because I was taking in the park where artists were painting, people were reading and I pulled out my phone to use the Merlin app to identify birds that were singing. It was totally picturesque. But I wasn't hungry. So I regretfully moved on without eating there. Imagine the elation a few days later when someone in our group booked a dinner reservation for us at the same place I was regretting having missed! With a group of a dozen of us, I think someone ordered everything on the menu. We were all thrilled. We had appetizers , cocktails and entrees -- everything we had was great! The restaurant is family-owned and we were treated to the son being a primary server for our group. Now and then dad was part of the picture too and we enjoyed the added dynamic. Pretty sure the son is on point for Americans as his English was on point. They were great hosts!

To start I had the marinated salmon which was one of the best starters I have had. Complex flavours and textures are complimented by an appropriate chilli hit which brings the whole dish together perfectly. The coconut crumb was a touch of genius. Hubby had the fried peppers, they were 3 stuffed and fried peppers that he loved, I found the habanero too spicy for me. For mains I had the lamb, one of the best lamb dishes I have had. Perfectly cooked lamb, both sou vide and grilled. Accompaniments were delicious and the chilli hit of the perfect sauce made the dish sing. Hubby had the black pearl, love the theatre of it all...you sign a waiver and they present you with a tray of tissues, milk and vodka to ease the burn. The dish was beautifully presented. I managed 3 little tastes and my tummy burned for a long time after. Surprising, the flavors were excellent. Hubby ate most of it but he did suffer through it....definitely not for the faint hearted. They provided pate and some bread "on the house" to start. I do not like pate so I didn't touch mine. The service was great overall. Great place if you want to try something other than goulash and the other Czech fare offered around town. Pro tip: they charge you for the bread basket if you eat a slice. It was like 10 crowns.

Be aware that this is a Michelin star restaurant and it's fine dining, so reservations are a must. Don't expect to just walk in. And to experience the food, I always order the full tasting menu. I truly could live happily on toast, boiled potatoes, fruit, and Diet Coke. I'm also both a vegetarian and someone with a fairly limited palate, so I didn't think Field would be a hit for me. WOW was this an amazing experience! First: gorgeous space. Comfy tables, set far enough apart so we didn't feel crowded, and it didn't get loud. Beautiful artwork on the ceiling. Bright. Cheery. We loved it. We are visiting our son who lives a few hours south of Prague. My husband and son are fabulously adventurous eaters and they gifted me with this outing to Field, a Friday lunch reservation at 1:30 pm. Lunch seems the perfect time to come as the restaurant was not totally booked and we had so much attention from staff, including the front desk, wait staff, sommelier, and bartender. But I'm guessing dinner would be a blast, too. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. Our lead waitress was Michaela, and she was the most polished and professional server I've ever met!! We felt so well cared for. In our 3 person party we had me: a vegetarian, and our son who has severe food allergies, to peanuts, pine nuts, and most nuts. 2 of the 3 don't drink any alcohol. Amazingly, it was not a problem at all. In fact, they were prepared!! There was a vegetarian prix fixe menu, with both a large and a smaller option, plus we could order the 'non-alcoholic' version of the wine pairings. So we did. My son had phoned ahead to inform them about his food allergies, and Michaela and the bartender confirmed them when we were seated. The staff was so welcoming and completely knowledgeable about ingredients. They did a fantastic job keeping my son safe, like bringing out his dessert first so it would come close to the 5 other pastries that included nuts. The bartender made him a special cocktail that was hazelnut-free. The 'pesto' was made with pumpkin seeds instead of pine nuts. The staff told us the ingredients of every single dish and cocktail!! And literally showed us! Our waitress brought over a tray that included things like snails, crawfish, and artichokes, and then she told us where they'd sourced them in Czechia! Except the crawfish, as we learned they are a protected animal in Czechia, so they are brought in from Germany. We loved that part, hearing where all of these beautiful ingredients came from. I'll include a few photos from both my vegetarian and their regular prix fixe adventures. The pea soup was my favorite! My son said the deer main dish was the 'best thing I've ever eaten, in my entire life'. I didn't take photos of the non-alcoholic cocktails, but those were lovely. Especially a super fun foamy pomegranate one!
