Fried Calamari
Michelle O.

Who's hungry? I was..Neighborhood gem. Small, cute establishment. Upon entering, warmly greeted and seated immediately. Upon conversation, our waiter was the owners son Aaron. Such a warm friendly accommodating young man. Very engaging when taking orders and a very dynamic interaction. The food: Started with fried calamari and baked clams both were delicious. Loved the fact the calamari was lightly breaded and not overly fried, paired well with the marinara sauce. Baked clams delicious only drawback and it's because of my preference a bit garlicky but for the garlic lovers you would appreciate. My main dish penna in vodka sauce with shrimp scampi delicious. Well seasoned but for me a bit heavy with the garlic. My reason for 3 star, the shrimp was not deveined. My dining partner had the penne pasta with grill lemon pepper chicken which he absolutely loved. Other dining partner enjoyed her shrimp on marina with a side salad. Salad was fresh and crisp with delicious dressing. Dessert: wasn't the cheesecake I was expecting. It had a spongecake type consistency but it was delicious and we devoured it. Tiramisu, I don't usually partake but there's was such an awesome blend of coffee, moistness, not overly sweet I found my "just one little taste" turned into several little tastes. Lol All in all great experience, definitely recommend and I will return. BTW.. l love the fact I stated my favorite gelato flavors are passionfruit and raspberry which they didn't have.. he actually wrote it down to relay to his Dad. Whether or not it happens I appreciate the fact he listened. Bonus.. it's on Seated. Download the app enter my code Michelle1454 to be rewarded for eating out! You're welcome!

I've ordered from Fontana's in the past and their food is always pretty delicious. Normally I get the penne a la vodka with chicken but this time I decided to be a bit more adventurous and try their Chicken parm hero sandwich and mozzarella sticks. The sandwich came nicely packaged and it's a great size which I was happy about because it lasted me all day lol Taste wise, it was pretty good just needed some more seasoning or flavoring. Something was missing from the chicken, but it wasn't the worst thing. I would rate it a 7.5. The mozzarella sticks were a perfect 10! Hot and crispy and served with sauce. They tasted fresh and delicious. Delivery was great too and I ordered via Grubhub. I would def recommend and would order again. P.S. I've eaten in here as we before Covid and their sangria is to die for! Nice and strong, not weak (I hate weak drinks lol) and their service is great for dine in as well. Enjoy!

Ordered here during the Covid-19 pandemic for the first time. I'm trying to do my part by supporting local businesses during the crisis. I've always wanted to try their food and they didn't disappoint. Since this was a take out order , I called the restaurant about three times ( I kid you not!) to find out about the menu items , portion sizes and delivery times. Delivery took 30-40 mins and the food came piping hot , the delivery man was also very courteous. The portion sizes were large and filling for the two of us. My belly was thoroughly pleased and full. I cant wait to go here once this is all over....

Absolutely delicious! Delivery is amazing. Pasta is fresh and enough to share for two. The price is definitely worth it.

Mill Basin Kosher Deli - Pickle tray and coleslaw, which were very, very good

A simple kosher deli through and through…read more After stepping out of my comfort zone the last few times, I decided to go back to basics with the Jewish holidays approaching and the reopening of the Carnegie Deli. This is the food I grew up eating, so I take it seriously when I try this kind of food; it checks all the boxes. No, it is not cheap, but you get a nice amount of food to justify the cost. To start, a plate of pickles and cup of coleslaw is an excellent way to start. That is the Jewish equivalent to getting free bread at an Italian restaurant, or a basket of chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant. It is a must if you want to satiate your customers. The matzo ball soup is adequate for what comes in it. One matzo ball, but some carrots and noodles help make it more. The chicken broth is hearty and full of flavor. This is the perfect soup for when the weather gets colder. I finished with a Triple Decker of pastrami, corned beef, and tongue. All the meats tasted fresh and delicious, not too overstuffed, and the topping of coleslaw and Russian dressing created a nice cooling balance from the salty meat. The real kicker? Seedless rye! Thank goodness for the seedless rye! That is how you treat customers who have issues digesting seeds. Sorry Bobby Hill, you will not find pictures of celebrities on the walls of this deli. You will just find vintage seating, and good old fashioned flavors the way you knew and grew up eating. That is at least how I felt while eating here. I am happy I got to stop by, and look forward to coming back for more.

This is not how this is done. You run the bill through and you bring me the credit card receipt to sign and add the tip . With their prices being sky high, it's bad enough you're charging an additional 3% use a credit card now you're gonna put the 3% surcharge on the tip as well

When I heard the Wednesday special at Duet Bakery and Restaurant was 50 percent off their main…read moredishes, I was perplexed. Was it a clever marketing strategy to attract new customers or a way to retain regulars? I was curious enough to get answers. It was a little out of the way for me unless you are already in the neighborhood because you live or plan to shop at Kings Plaza. The restaurant was beautiful, branded (signage, menus, even glassware), comfortable seating (we reserved a booth), and offered mouth-watering photos of their food on the large TV in the back of the dining room. Although it was helpful (since we eat with our eyes first), it became harder to make a selection. Yes, everything looked good. Our server never introduced himself, he made some recommendations. The hospitality was alright. I ordered the 10 oz pan-seared Norwegian salmon, which normally comes with wild rice and basil pesto. However, I substituted the wild rice with creamy mashed potatoes. The fish was well-seasoned and perfectly cooked. The mashed potatoes were smooth, rich, and delicious. Yummy! As our party of four browsed the dessert menu, the majority of us craved the apple pie a la mode. We were disappointed that there was none, not even the carrot cake in a pot. I wanted to try something different so I opted for the Napoleon. It was good but not my favorite. We were impressed by the three scoops of ice cream (chocolate, vanilla, and pistachio), which were presented to our table on an illuminated ice block with grooves. Next time, I would like to try the Tabaka chicken under a brick.

Was this grossly overpriced? Totally and absolutely. Be prepared to pay a pretty penny for average…read morefood in a nondescript location in the middle of nowhere. Our server was not having it that night. From the moment we walked in to the minute we left, we felt like he was having a bad day and couldn't have been more annoyed with every single customer's presence. Not a great feel. Needless to say, service left wanting more. Would not return here just so I wouldn't have to interact with that waiter. Ambiance is pleasant. The establishment aims to provide a more upscale vibe, even if customers are dinning super casually on a Thursday night. $28 Mongolian beef appetizer was tasty--a bit too dry--more sweet sauce would've been in order. The portion was big--good to share amongst several people. The fact that an appetizer costs as much as an entree is nuts to me. $54 for 8 oz. Filet Mignon entree was standard steak house price but this establishment is not a steakhouse. Both our fillets were cooked to the temps we ordered. The meat was good quality. However. The entire dish was BLAND. Zero salt or seasoning in anything. What? Did the chef forget to add salt to everything?? The sauce would've been great if it was seasoned and had taste. Same goes for potatoes gratin and mushrooms and meat. This was bizarre. How do you not season food? $15 napoleon was okay. Not the best and not the worst I had. The cream was too heavy on the eggs and more of a custard consistency, not the traditional Russian napoleon kind. Big piece, though, so it's good to share amongst several people after a filling dinner. Would I return? For such prices, bad service, and bland food--no. Spend your money elsewhere.
