They are 100% more courteous and available for questions than major pharmacies. Easily the best pharmacy I've ever been to. Amazing. Quick turn around time, great customer service, and pleasant environment. One time I had to travel for work and I was just at the awkward point where I didn't have enough meds to last me through the whole trip, but it was too early for my insurance to cover it. On top of that, my insurance can really be a pain to work with. Foer worked with me to get it all worked out, taking most of the responsibility in talking and working out the details. If you're still confused about your prescription after you pick it up, you need help. For each customer, Donald will step around the counter and give you a tutorial on usage, side effects, contraindications, and other important information. How often do you get a personal attention like this at a pharmacy or anywhere else? His staff is also fabulous. I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes, although they actually take the time to interact with customers like real human beings, rather than just handing you the drugs and taking your money. They knew my name after the first couple of visits and have never gotten me and my sister mixed up, as do so many others (read: GWU Medical Faculty Associates, where we're apparently the same person). It's like Cheers without the alcohol. Every time I go, I feel welcome, get a warm and fuzzy feeling, and try to find excuses to linger (wow, these pillboxes are fascinating!). I BIG-TEDDY-BEAR HEART FOER'S ON K ST!! I feel like five stars just isn't enough for them! I am so impressed with this pharmacy that I had to make a conscious and deliberate effort NOT to clear the counter and plant a big, sloppy kiss on the pharmacist's cheek. But, since I'll definitely be going back there, I thought it best to refrain from 1.) vaulting over a pharmacy counter, and 2.) harassing the guy with the medications. The last thing I want to do is alienate anyone here because Foer's has officially become THE ONLY pharmacy in my life, and they are Number One in my heart. I only take a few medications every month but one of them is a hard-to-find C-II medication in a very large quantity. Foer's actually had that medication IN STOCK and they were able to fill the entire thing without having to order it. I was floored when the pharmacist told me that they could fill it THAT DAY. I waited maybe 10 minutes for my script. I was never harrassed, eyeballed suspiciously, or given a hard time. I handed them my script, they filled it, called my insurance company, and I paid the $10 and went home. Now THAT is how your treat your customers. I can't even begin to tell you about the experiences I've had at CVS, Target, and Rite Aid when trying to fill this script. Total nightmares. I have been filling this script since December 2009 and not ONE pharmacy (other than this one) has ever been able to fill it right then and there. Some pharmacies can have it in two days, and some take two weeks (total BS). Until last month when I found Foer's, I combed this entire city (on foot) every month trying to find a pharmacy that could fill the script that day, and so far Foer's is the ONLY place that has been able to do it. I really wish I had known about them seven months ago. It would have saved me a ton of time and headaches from dealing with irate, uncooperative, and often insulting pharmacists at CVS, Target, and Rite Aid. I just can't thank them enough! I would recommend them to everyone and anyone! Take your scripts here. They deserve our business! (The only thing I'd change about Foer's is that they aren't open on the weekend. This is especially unfortunate when your doctor postdates your C-II scripts for a date that falls on a Saturday or Sunday in keeping with the 30-day Rx renewal rule. You're basically SOL until Monday morning because it can't be filled on Friday. They should at least keep like 10:00-2:00 hours on the weekends.) read more

I can't believe I'm actually rating a pharmacy, but these guys are amazing. I have had to interact with the health care system on a near constant basis for the past 2 years, and it often leaves me exhausted, frustrated, ignored, and broke. This place is like an oasis. They're kind. They're fast. They listen. They know their stuff. They don't pass judgment (yes, this has happened to me at a pharmacy). They find ways to save you money. This place is AMAZING. One of the best customer service experiences I've had in a long time, maybe ever. I have been getting the same prescription for over 10 years now and recently it's become a huge hassle to get filled at basically any pharmacy in the area, except Foer's. To start, I get 90 day prescriptions simply because it's easier to only fill my meds once every 3 months instead of monthly. Additionally, my medication is a controlled substance. Every pharmacy I try to get this filled at not only turns me down and says they can't fill it but they also make me feel like a bit of a criminal or weird for even asking. But, not Foer's!! They are SO professional, helpful and truly there to serve their customers. They have come through for me in the clutch several times when I've waited until the last minute to get my meds and no one else will fill the prescriptions. Also, whenever there has been an issue with my prescription, they've contacted my doctors directly for me to sort it out . I've been impressed with their customer service and been wanting to write a review for some time now but my last interaction with Foer's made me feel compelled to write this review. I got my prescription filled last week and when my boyfriend went to pick it up (on the same day he dropped it off) they informed him that they only had 35 of the 90 pills I needed. So they handed my boyfriend the 35 pills and told him they would HAND DELIVER the rest the following day. As promised and on time, the rest of my prescription was at home waiting for me after work. I don't know ANY other pharmacy that would ever care enough to do something like that. One last note: I always steered clear of Smaller Pharmacys, especially in the District because I feared their prices would be through-the-roof. I only did mailed away pharmacy's for several years for this reason alone. However, Foer's has been shockingly affordable and consistent with prices in the area and at mail away Pharmacy's. 5 stars all the way! I went there today as a new patient, and my prescription was ready in 10 minutes, and even then they were apologizing to me about the wait! The pharmacist, Mr. Fukuzawa, was as nice as could be and gave me a very thorough and easy-to-understand consultation. Even though the pharmacy is small, they have an impressive selection. These guys are AMAZING!!! Service is always great. They remember your name, greet you as you come in and take care of your prescriptions, refills etc. If I have any questions they always help me out. A few new staff may not be as friendly as the others, but they definitely get the gist of the company's service standard and make the effort. I would give Foer's more than 5 stars if I could. Even though the pharmacy is not open on the weekend, and even though I don't live or work nearby, I never get prescriptions anywhere else. Foer's understands the meaning of customer service. They are always courteous, professional, timely, communicative and insightful. They ask the right questions, follow through when they say something will be done at a certain time, and when they didn't have the prescribed size of pill for the medication I needed on the day I needed it, they delivered it free of charge as soon as it came in. (I often pay the small $5 fee to have all of my refills delivered to me.) I have left CVS in a frustrated huff many times, but I always leave Foer's with a smile. read more

Do NOT go to this pharmacy! They *lied* to me about an OTC medication a doc prescribed, telling me it didn't exist. In fact, they just didn't have it in stock whereas CVS did. I don't know what their motivation was, but I heard the pharmacist mutter to the tech., "I don't think we have that. Just give her ..." Then the tech came out and told me that it didn't exist and the doctor must have made a mistake! What this led to was the continuation of my discomfort as opposed to my getting the relief I needed a day sooner. So very not cool! :( read more

It is not often that I write a review on Yelp but when I do it is because the company is extraordinary. Donald simply gives customers top-notch customer service. When I called it was after hours and I was not even a current customer. I had called 5-6 pharmacies for a special medication, I was flipping out because I needed it that day. He worked with me, called the necessary parties, and called me back as promised. While I ended up finding out my insurance did not cover the meds, I will go out of my way to use THIS pharmacy. I would NOT recommend this pharmacy--especially in the Washington, DC area. Particularly if you need delivery services. A patient here is in desperate need of end-of-life meds. The medicine yesterday did not make it on the pharmacy's delivery truck. today when I called he said the delivery would not come until after 1pm because the drivers has a fixed route he uses and the part of town we are in (coincidentally is the poorest) is the last on the route. He said he would not change the route and if we didn't like their delivery system to call a different pharmacy. read more

I have been going to Foer's for a few years now and even though it's a bit of a hike from my office, it's worth it. They are so fast and efficient that I feel that I probably save time walking the 8 blocks there 8 blocks back than I would getting my prescription filled at the CVS around the corner. (After going to Foer's, I don't think I could ever go back to CVS again!) The pharmacist knows me by name and keeps my prescription in stock even though it is not something that they usually carry. The staff has also worked with me to get a three months supply at a time from my doctor, which saves me a copay (And he had no idea that they could do this!) I've never had to wait longer than 15 minutes to get my prescription filled there even during the busiest of lunch time rushes. The staff always takes time to answer my questions and they are very knowledgeable and courteous. I have no reservations recommending them to friends and family. read more

Went to this pharmacy for the first time cause I was at the doc's office in the building with a newborn child and it's hard to move around with a baby around town. The tall pharmacist told me he needed to call my insurance - that's fine. In 5 minutes he informs me that my insurance hung up on him and he doesn't want to call back. I asked him to call back and or I could call as well - he told me he didn't want to. So I told him sometimes calls get disconnected and it's not about his ego but being professional but he refused and told me to go to another pharmacy! What kind of customer service is this?! I've never posted on Yelp before, though I regularly use it to read up on places. However, these Foer's is so outstanding I had to post about them. Everything about them is outstanding. Prices are reasonable, the best customer service I've ever seen, they go the extra mile as part of their normal routine. They are very prompt and the owner is very knowledgeable about his craft and will actually take the time to explain in detail all about your medication and potential drug interactions with other medicine. Outstanding! What takes the cake though is that they'll mail your medicine to you if you're out of town. You pay the cost to mail of course, but this is something the box store pharmacies don't do. This is a tremendous help to me because I work for the government overseas and don't have mail order provided by my insurance.
