I got some really great service here yesterday! A clerk helped me use the Kodak machine and select a specialty print. It was ready in 10 minutes! And we got some holiday stuff at 50% off. The line was a bit long to check out, but they called up some more clerks and it moved faster. They also have added some fresh food selections to the right of the register area. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. 35 minutes on hold and they don't have my medication after several days. They just...don't fill medications. I reckon I get my script 1 our of ever 3 or 4 times. They didn't have my prescription. It was sent digitally by my doctor yesterday. After a long and tearful argument explaining that I really NEED this prescription filled and a call to my doctors office, they agreed to rush it for me. However, even my rush order was being rushed behind four OTHER PEOPLE whose prescriptions the pharmacy just never filled despite having had them for days/hours. This is the worst pharmacy I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. I honestly wish I could give it zero stars. I've had an easier time filling prescriptions in Baghdad, and I say that without a hint of hyperbole. Something always goes wrong and what's worse, the pharmacists constantly lie about what the problem is -making it harder to solve- just to absolve themselves from responsibility. This review isn't much for the non-pharmacy part of the store, which is usually well-stocked, clean, and navigable; it's for the pharmacy only, which is awful. I'll start with the good: the pharmacy assistants are always nice and are good at their jobs. They ring you up promptly and work hard to get through the line as fast as they can. However, the pharmacy is never well-staffed, which is most likely a limitation from on high. This is a high-traffic, in-demand CVS, and the line for pickup regularly stretches out to the front of the store. The pharmacists themselves are always strung out and stressed, and they pass their stress onto the customer. The phone is constantly ringing off the hook, and the entire experience is utter chaos. Find a different CVS if you can, or better yet, a different pharmacy entirely. read more

This pharmacy is atrocious. Earlier in the summer, they miscounted the number of pills I was supposed to receive by so much that I ran out three weeks early (on a three month prescription) and had to purchase a refill without insurance, costing me several hundred dollars. Tonight I went in for a refill and again they miscounted and shorted me by 35 pills, or 20% of the total pill count. Are they trying to cheat their customers, or are they just that incompetent?? I will walk a mile further to avoid this pharmacy in the future and recommend that everyone who is able to do the same. read more

Just had literally the best customer service experience I've ever had at a pharmacy. I was there to get passport photos done, and really dreading it- the lines can be long, the photo machine can break, etc. Turns out I had nothing to worry about- I came in, got in line, and was helped by Hiwot, one of the most positive and energetic people I've ever met. She quickly set up the photo station and took my professional photo. While waiting for it to print she literally jogged back to the counter to help another customer. I was in and out in 10 minutes- great start to my day. Thank you Hiwot! read more

This is my neighborhood cvs and also happens to be located near my job. The staff in general is usually helpful but sometimes the lines can become extremely long before anyone asks for extra assistance. While most are nice , there is usually one young lady who seems like she is completely over it. Today I went to get a chocolate bar and because the bars were kind of dusty, I turned it over to see the date . I saw Best Buy dates going as far back as October. It's nearly March . It's completely unacceptable that there is anything that has been on the shelf for so long without any concern about the people who are probably still buying them without checking the date . It makes me wonder is this specific to this location or is this just how CVS operates in general. Either way , I'm not sure how eager I'll be to spend my money at a place that keeps bad food on the shelves for people to consume read more

I'm torn on how to treat this place in a review...they have the stock I need, just not a friendly stock person to answer my questions. They have plenty of space...but filled to the point of claustrophobia. Oh, and no bathroom if you're having an emergency, despite your basket full of products indicating that you're going to be a good customer. This CVS doesn't seem to have any self-checkout lanes, and doesn't seem to have as good selection as the Woodley Park one, which is a couple of blocks away (Connecticut and Calvert). This review is for the pharmacy only: I've had my prescriptions filled here 3 times over the past couple of years, and the pharmacy department here has been great! The pharmacists are pretty friendly and offer good service (by DC standards, of course...). I've never had a long wait or issues with insurance, and I've even had my questions patiently and courteously answered-- Definitely a first when it comes to CVS pharmacies and CVS in general. read more

One of the all time worst pharmacies in DC. I've been going here for 4 years and can accurately say that you will walk out with your prescription 60% of the time. You will certainly not get your prescription in 1 hour-that much is laughable. So many times I have requested a refill for something as simple as an allergy medication to which it takes a week at the very least. If you can, go to Kalorama Pharmacy. I have had to fill prescriptions most of my life and can attest that this CVS is the worst drug store I have ever been too. This location turns over employees so consistently that the service is always slow, prescriptions don't get filled on time, employees don't communicate at all, make excuses, and often times are very rude. If you live in the area you should consider the Safway next door. They treat clients as they should be treated. More and more, it's becoming a hassle to buy over the counter drugs, as evidenced by my last visit to CVS, when I bought Sudaphed. "You gotta sign the book." said the cashier, "They're making all sorts of crack or something with this...the drug addicts." He had a out a black binder that they keep behind the counter, and was squinting at my ID. So they're going to turn my name over to the cops? "Just in case there's a crack break-out. Where's the birth-date on this?" Crystal Meth is a real problem in rural America, and I agree with lawmakers that measures must be taken to curb its spread...but I am annoyed at being treated like a potential meth cook every time I buy cold medicine. I realize this probably isn't CVS's fault, but as a result, I am knocking one star off an otherwise convenient, four-star business. read more

I have been to the pharmacy here over 10 times in the past year. Not once have I recieved my prescription without having to go over which prescriptions I want and which insurance I have. They are incompetent and even though my last name has only 5 letters, they always screw up and can't find my prescriptions. I'm looking for a new pharmacy. I don't think I can take another month of dealing with the awful service at the pharmacy. I had a prescription called in May 12, that they told me they didn't have. They told me they don't just lose prescriptions, but they have actually "lost" several of mine before. It has been easier to get medication filled in Baltimore and mailed to me than deal with this CVS. I had my May prescription recalled in and then the pharmacist acts like I'm inconveniencing her to get it filled. She actually scowled at me every time she walked by! Really? Went here very early one morning, during the early part of COVID-19 to pick up a prescription. There was an elderly lady being attended to by the female pharmacist (seemed to be Ethiopian) and I was next in line. As I'm standing in line, a young white woman, who I'd seen earlier near the greeting card section, but wasn't visible when I first got in line, walks up and stands a little off to the side of the cashier and the 1st customer. After the pharmacist finishes with the elderly lady, I'm expecting to move up to be served. Instead, the pharmacist cavalierly allows this young white to step up to the register to serve her. I'm shocked and tell her that I was next. The Ethiopian tells me that the white girl was there when the pharmacist first opened. I noted that she wasn't waiting in line. Another pharmacist (male) walks up to serve me, but I still voiced my displeasure. This white chick had a blatant, arrogant smirk on her face and tries to give her weak defense of being there first. Did this b#@# think she's Casper the Friendly Ghost or something? I told her that she wasn't in line (in fact, when I first got in line, she wasn't even visible) and that, had I gotten out of line, my place would be forfeit. I was so livid that this read more
