There was one person for the entire store. She was running back and forth to the self check out and her register. All I wanted was cash back and it took about 10 minutes. Arrived at 1:30p for a 1:40p appointment at the minute clinic. Employee came back at 1:40 from lunch and saw another patient before me. When I asked another employee for an update, I was told the minute clinic was closed (?). I ended up leaving without seeing anyone after waiting 30 minutes past my appointment time since they called another patient back and I was on my lunch break from work and couldn't wait any longer. read more

i gave this 5 star Solely for the amazing employee there called 'Rinki" here is why: I visited this store on September 13 to purchase a cashiers check for an embassy, my documents were at the embassy so the only thing i had on me was a US passport, and there was this guy who immediately said that he can't help me and I need to bring a DL, but RINKI ( the store clerk) came to my help and entered everything manually ,she was very patient and friendly and super nice, did everything very professionally and saved and helped me from going back and wasting hours , she is a super star and an amazing employee out standing customer service! read more

This is a huge CVS right in the West End, probably the largest CVS I've been to. The cashiers were friendly and efficient and when I asked to borrow a pen for something I needed to mail, the cashier was accommodating. The shelves were well stocked, the store was very clean, it was brightly lit inside, and there is even a fairly large Minute Clinic area. An employee was actively stocking merchandise, and the store seemed to be operating smoothly. read more

The staff here are actually nice and helpful. I have one major pet peeve though which is that the prices on the shelves are not the same as prices at check out. (And I am swiping my CVS card so it isn't that the price was only available if you have a CVS card and I did not.) It's a small thing that a bottle of generic un-refrigerated seltzer water that should by less than a $1 rings up as $1.49. But it is annoying. Maybe they think you will just pay it, as I did last night, rather than run around finding a staff person to try to correct it. But it does just mean I will be more careful to order my water from Amazon or somewhere online so I don't have to pick it up on the way home at CVS. read more

I went to this location shortly after they opened and I have to say, this is by far the worst CVS location I have ever been to. For starters the older gentleman who was working the front of the house immediately started to follow me once I walked in the store. I forgot to write out a list of all the items I needed so I was wondering around the store trying to build my list while I was there. ( I can see how that can appear suspicious but instead of asking me if I needed any help, the associate called security and had them keep an eye on me.). This security guard walked past me in the aisle and his hand was as over his holster as if he felt threaten. Still neither the security guard nor the associate has spoken to me directly. I called a good friend of mine on FaceTime so that he could see what i was dealing with and if anything were to happen he could be a witness. It's unfortunate that a CVS employee caused me, a loyal customer, to fear for my safety in one of their stores. After I picked up 3 of the 7!items that i knew i needed, I decided to leave since i felt that i did not have a safe place to shop. i went to the self check out register and i proceed to scan my items. 2 of the items that i scanned had different prices so I reached out to the sales person to Have them adjust it and i was met with a dismissive and condescending tone. After hearing that i just asked the associate to take it off my bill all together. He grunted as if my decision to remove the items all together in Convinced him in some way when I was the one who was inconvenienced. Im sharing this information because customer experiences matter. I wore a button up shirt, jeans and black sneakers. I was in business casual attire and i believe that I was racially profiled. If this is the environment that customers are receiving when they visit the M street store, I would suggest using my situation as an example and steering clear of this location. read more

I love, love, love my neighborhood CVS..,Especially the sweet Ethiopian cashiers who are working the midnight shift and are incredibly civil (sweetest women and men I've EVER had help me in any DC CVS -- mostly, I get the type like the gal at the Dupont Circle CVS with gold 'grill' and nasty knuckle tats that was pissed off that I had the nerve to stand in her line -- AND ask her to ring me up a pack of cigarettes. The pharmacists bend over backward to help give fast, efficient and downright friendly advice and meds. There's always at least three people helping...Two years ago? Completely different story. There was only one very overworked person and the lines were ten deep. Aisles are stocked well, managers always visible and rush in to help reduce a backed-up cashier or broken scanner. A rat running down the aisle? Come on yelper....it's DC for heaven's sake. Rather see one here than in the high end Ritz next door -- you know they are there too!!! LOL! read more

Awful minute clinic. I was 10 minutes late to an appointment to get a vaccine trying to find parking so my appt was auto cancelled. The health technician refused to see me even though no one was waiting and it was clear she was watching videos on her phone in the office. So to be clear, in the middle of a pandemic this technician/nurse felt that it was more important to honor the 10 minute rule and continue to sit in her office doing nothing rather than get a vaccine to someone at the expense of no one else's but her own time which she's paid for. If this doesn't epitomize the inefficiency of our entire health system I don't know what does. read more

Horrible customer service. Called to check on a prescription status. They don't know anything to be honest. Children , 15 year old are answering the phone. Was on hold for 30 min, then she comes back to tell me "you are still here"? Then she says the pharmacist is in the restroom. I had to wait again. Finally when provided my information, she hangs up. CVS store (not pharmacy) I had the BEST customer service today with the staff member named 'Tika' (nickname). She really helped me out of a bind with some photo printing. She was incredibly helpful and friendly, and really went above and beyond what is required for any staff. So I needed to transfer a prescription and used their online prescription transfer system. It was such an easy process, I was amazed by how efficient it was. It was too efficient, actually. My prescriptions were supposed to be ready at 5pm. I went in at 7pm because I was working late. They had no idea I submitted anything. Come to find out they don't check their prescription transfer system and my prescription was sitting there all day. So now I sit and wait for them to call the other pharmacy and fill my order. I am hungry and want to go home. Argh. read more

My review is in between 2 and 3 stars. It's not a bad store, but it's not the most impressive CVS. I'd give it 2.5 stars, but rounded down because Walgreens is on the other corner and I'd rather walk a little farther and go there. I can't agree with Gigi's review about this place being well organized. It's a typical CVS, but I felt it was really awkwardly laid out. This may be because of the way the store is designed, but I wandered around and discovered a second section that's accessible by a ramp. It was well-stocked, but I ended up wandering the entire store at least twice trying to figure where the things I wanted were. Personally, I'll cross the street and go to the 24 hour Walgreens instead of coming back here. read more

The minute clinic does not live up to it's name. I waited 2 hours to see someone. I will never go again. When I finally got called the nurse was really nice, attentive, and helpful, but she seemed a bit scattered. She apologized several times for the long wait and said it was normal to wait over an hour, as she is usually the only person on duty. She also gave me a free first aid kit for waiting so long, which was random but nice I guess. It had bandaids. Lol. But yeah, don't come here unless you have absolutely nothing to do all day. This is no 24-hour pharmacy, and suggestions (by CVS) to the contrary are, shall we say, totally misleading. However, it is a nice, quiet, ample store and one of the few CVS where you don't have to say "excuse me" all the time as you pass other customers. The reason why I don't give this a five star review is that during the summer its air conditioning system did not seem to be working - at least in the front part of the store. No Washington DC store should have less that perfect air conditioning during the summer - the weather at that time of year is intolerable. Also, the music is too loud at times. But it's one of my favorite CVS's because of its pleasant architecture and the lack of crowds. read more

Went to the Minute Clinic today for allergies/ sinus infection. I was given an estimated wait time of 18 minutes but I was seen in about 10. My doctor was efficient and quickly gave me a prescription and good advice about what over the counter meds to take. I went to the pharmacy and my prescription was filled in about 5 minutes. All in all, I was in and out the door in less than half an hour. They gave me the exact service I needed quicker than I expected. If I have issues in the future, I'll definitely be back. read more

I continue to visit this CVS because it's local and the employees are good. I haven't had any other problems with the pharmacy staff like I mentioned in my first review, in fact they seem excellent these days. However, if you live in the area you might consider trying out the Walgreens across the street - for some reason - and this makes no sense to me - a prescription I had filled at the Walgreens was a LOT less than the same prescription that I had filled at the CVS, and both were not generic. ??? Anyway the CVS has some things that the Walgreens doesn't have, and vice-versa. I like them both. read more

I'm giving this a 5 star because Enela, one of the pharmacists, is the best in DC. I've had some complicated issues with insurance, etc and she always goes above and beyond to resolve them. She's very conscientious and even if I have to drive across town to have my prescriptions filled here, I find that it's worth the trip because of her excellent service! read more

I went to the minuteclinic for an infection. I waited for half hour and was seen by Lauren Davis. She was super curt and borderline rude as soon as I walked in and it only got worse. She took turns barking at me and her assistant. I don't understand why she was so frustrated or if she's just an unpleasant angry person. She didn't give me any space to ask questions. I even had to ask which medicine she was giving me since it didn't look like she was going to tell me, just send me to the pharmacy. She gave me no instructions on how to take it, or if I should avoid any foods, or do anything else to help with the recovery. And she just got up, opened the door, and basically pushed me out. I came back three days later because the medication didn't work and was seen by a superb friendly NP and was very happy with that experience (she gets the stars). She was thorough, kind, and made sure I was informed. read more

Checked online to see what hour this location takes a lunch break, which is 2pm. I checked the wait time, and when it reached 0 minutes, I walked over at 1:05pm. When I went to sign in, there is a sign saying return at 3pm. The manager happened to walk by and I said, do they take their lunch break from 2-3? He answered yes. I said, ok because it is 1:05. He literally shrugged and walked away. Pretty ridiculous to shut down an hour early before your scheduled hour for lunch. Every night when I'm shall I say "toasty" this cvs is my go-to. Heck, even when I'm not toasty I love it. It's big in size, selection, and the staff is always friendly. In fact, if there were table and chairs I would probably pull up a seat and ask for a menu. They have thinkThin "high protein" bars, a product that I am always looking for and rarely find in other pharmacy stores like Walgreens. To finish my review, I like having the option of either checking out myself at the self-checkout or having a staff member check me out him or herself at the counter. There's a reason why people refer to CVS as "crappy variety store". This location is staffed by a group of people that could not give a rat's ass about their job. On two occasions the self checkout machine was having issues so I went over to the photo counter and asked for help. The woman there let out an audible groan and sigh as she lifted her ample posterior out of her chair, acting as if I had disturbed her from her soaps to help me. On another occasion when same thing happened, I pushed the button for help; two women at photo desk continued their conversation and never tried to move so after waiting a few minutes and looking directly at them, I finally walked out empty handed and left all my crap on the scanner. On yet another occasion I was followed around the store by a uniformed security guard; she was breathing down my neck the entire time, all the while yapping on her cell phone. The pharmacy staff is quite good. I have been called when there is a delay in filling a prescription due to availability or pending insurance approval. Over the counter items are not organized in a logical fashion. Non pharmacy items such as batteries, dental floss, and batteries are expensive. CVS pushes house brands for a number of products and the quality is often sub-par. For example, CVS dental floss tends to break between the teeth. read more
