i had a similar situation reported by many other reviewers. My order date slipped multiple times and customer service was of little use, just sending the same useless email response back. The shipping company stated that Focus did not provide the item to be shipped so we went around and around with no help from Customer service. I was fortunate that my order was placed through a third party that directly issued a refund to me. Although I requested a refund multiple times, Focus just sent me the same email message. If you have to mail order through this company, I would advise going through a 3rd party like Amazon, PayPal or Collect on Delievery. read more

Great place to shop audios, cameras, among others. I bought a combo of Sony XM3 noise canceling headphone and Sony h.ear Go wireless speaker at a very affordable price. Shipment from the east coast to California took a while, but the quality of the products are as good as expected. The noise canceling headphone separates me from the noise especially when travelling by train or air. The speaker, however, needs a lot of set-ups to get to work (the manual and website of Sony sucks). And I guess due to the failure of software update through wifi, I always experience a noticeable latency when playing music or videos. This happens in whatever devices, pc, cell phones, and tablets. Still trying to figure out how to fix it. Overall, I would very like to recommend Focus Camera. read more

Got a great deal and shipping was fast. Communication was was excellent. Would certainly order from here again.

Horrible customer service. Be very careful when you purchase with this company, they will take your money and never respond back to you. I also recommend looking at their multiple complaints with the Better Business Bureau at this link https://www.bbb.org/us/ny/brooklyn/profile/photography-equipment/focus-camera-llc-0121-2754 to review over 30 complaints similar to mine that have been filed with the BBB. I ordered from Focus Camera over a month and a half ago and it took them over 3 weeks for them to ship my item from their store. Once I learned of the delay, I made several attempts to contact the seller that I was no longer at the original address that I listed at the time of the order. I was unable to reach anyone by phone and there isn't even a voicemail box set up to leave a message. I couldn't even get a reply when I emailed them to inform them of an address change due to the delay in shipping from their store. I only got a notice after the item was shipped and then someone finally got back to me saying it was too late to change because it was already shipped TO THE WRONG ADDRESS. They are not refunding my money because they said the item was shipped. Why should I pay for an item I did not receive when the company did not do their job. I am extremely disappointed with this company and their lack of responsibility for this mistake on their end. Ironically, I received an email request for them to write a review and in my review, I explained exactly what happened and they refused to post it because "it did not meet their website guidelines", This is very biased, so be careful looking at their website because they will only list good reviews. Therefore, I am writing a review here and on other platforms to get the word out about this horrible experience so no one else has to go through what I and many others have dealt with. On a side note, I always prefer to support local and family-owned businesses versus larger corporations, however, when I experience horrible customer service like this, it seems to ruin it for other small businesses. Shame on them! read more

I ordered a lens for a new camera in November 2021, paying with my charge card, and it was on back order. I have contacted them three times since then. I understand about the shipping ports being jammed and all this Coved-related issues. I just want an answer. In February 2022 I was told it was still on back order but a shipment was arriving. I never heard back from them. I spoke with "Ashley" today and was again advised the camera was on back order and again I was told a shipment was coming in. I asked to speak with a manager or supervisor numerous times and Ashley refused to forward me to a supervisor, only asking if I wished to cancel my order. I told her I do not wish to cancel my order but I wanted to learn more about why my order was not being fulfilled. Again she restated the order was on back order. Focus Camera has extremely poor telephone customer service. read more

The deal for all of these items was phenomenal! I paid what I would normally pay for just one car vacuum but with all the accessories with it! The trunk organizer is pretty sturdy, the back seat organizer is also great if you have kids to store toys or extra clothes, and the car vacuum works decently too and has better suction than a past portable car vacuum I bought from Amazon. Lastly, I loved the case it came with! This is a game changer and helps to keep everything nicely organized and stores all the extra vacuum attachment pieces. The shipping was decent as well and experienced no problems with the seller. read more

I was so excited to make the trip out there and look for some new gear. Closer to my neighborhood than B&H and a local shop. The sign on the door said "Come in, we're awesome" a sense of humor and lightheartedness that I could appreciate. Looking through the glass the shop was very clean and neat with nice glass displays and a moderate selection of of cameras to test. I walked in and was hardly greeted, maybe a "Hey" was all I received. Oh well, I was there to check out a camera or two. So I went over to the Nikon Z6 I was eyeing and the battery was dead. Not so great to demo if you can't turn it on. So I asked someone and they offered to charge a battery for me while I waited...no problem. I'll just check out this Sony a7r iV...also dead. Ok I'll flip on the canon EOs, dead...welp. Guess I'll small talk with the guys and ask about trading my gear. I was told the used guy wasn't in , but no worries, they just "give about 70% EBay prices, I'll look it up". But of course, for the official trade in numbers they would have to wait for their used rep. I'm sorry, I am all for transparency but, really? Needless to say after some time and getting to check out the Z6 I left and took my gear to B&H for a trade offer the next day. Now the employees seemed knowledgeable on cameras but seemingly mostly what cameras they use but not other manufacturers. The worst part is, I was there with my trade in gear ready to make a purchase that could have easily happened with a better experience, attention to detail and appreciation for the business being ran. Dead demo equipment in a dead store with 3 employees chatting before I came in is not acceptable. It shows a lack of care of the business you are running/working for. Too bad. read more

A very shady company. Terrible customer service. I ordered a computer from them via overstock.com. I'd reached out and asked if the computer was brand new or refurbished, and was told that it was brand new. When I received the laptop, it was actually refurbished. Not at all what I ordered. I immediately sent the computer back to the company, and it was received on August 3rd. I have yet to receive a refund or response from the company. I would not shop here again. FYI; It is illegal to sell refurbished products without marking them as refurbished. The company was informed the product was not listed as refurbished and has yet to change this. Ditto to Noah's review on 2/10/2023. RUN AWAY AND DO NOT ORDER ON LINE FROM THIS COMPANY!! I ordered a $3000 scope, super easy and great price, that never got delivered. The first customer service rep on 11/20 was very nice and said it was back at their warehouse and she would look into a they would get back To me. On 11/21 I still hadn't received an update so I called again, this time Raul said he was talking with his 'supervisor' and they would get back to me via email with an update by the end of the day. Morning of 11/22- still no correspondence from Focus Camera so I called, rep says she doesn't know and cant get ahold of any one to help her, sends me to VM to leave a message. I call back and get Raul again, he says he is talking to the warehouse manager or some supervisor and they will respond by the end of the day. 30 secs later after me complaining and asking for names he says they have rectified the situation and were refunding me my money and cancelling the order. Still waiting for an email confirming my refund. He never did give me a name of the person he was talking to, he said it was via chat so he didn't know...Let's hope I get my refund! read more

Recently purchased an Epic-Teqnio refurbished Chromebook through Amazon from this company about two weeks ago. It was about 150 dollars, so I wasn't expecting anything spectacular. Just needed something to do basic stuff in the house. Poor screen quality/volume, but again I'm not really concerned with that because you get what you pay for. However there is a major issue. It will not stay on unless it is plugged in. The biggest point of a laptop is it's mobility, and this completely ruins the point of having one for me. Another issue is that certain websites suddenly stop loading. Others will still work, so it's not my internet, and there seems to be no rhyme or reason on what sites work when. I have to restart the Chromebook every time to get it working normally again. Went to try and review the product on amazon and it's not on there, and I couldn't figure out how to review the company on there either, so now I'm here. Highly dissatisfied with a company that's cool with sending a product that does not work properly to customers. Would not reccomend read more

Never got there. Never will. Got on their chat to ask if they have an item in stock before I take an hour+ to travel and pick up. Sure sez "Ken" - we have a few. A asked a question about the color (it comes in a few) - "Ken" says "call the store". I told Ken I could not call at the moment - it was why I used "chat". He responds that they have plenty at the warehouse and they could ship to me. I reminded him that I was "chatting" because I couldn't call at the moment and that I wanted to buy it in person (especially after seeing some of the comments here on Yelp). His next response: "Over 30,000 products. There stock varies but they can bring it there so call." I told him with that sample of customer service I'd look elsewhere. In short - from the other reviews and my experience I'd recommend folks avoid this very questionable business. read more

I found drone I wanted at focuscamera.com, their website said that it was in stock (lie #1) and that if ordered before 4 pm it would be shipped the same day (lie #2). 4 days later, order was still in process, when I called them and asked them why, they told me that they transfer information to manufacturer and that manufacturer then ships the order. When I asked why their website still says they had that drone in stock, their response was: " would you like to cancel your order". I have then asked to speak to the manager, only to be transferred to their voicemail (which did not even said that it was a voicemail and that I was expected to record a message). Ok, so my experience with Focus was a scary but a satisfactory in the end. Let me explain.... I wanted to purchase a Sony A7s ii and found that Focus offered a great bundle deal. I found the seller through Amazon and because I had the funds in paypal and amazon (as a competitor to ebay) doesnt take paypal I skipped amazon as the middle man and went directly through the vendor... i.e. Focus. The website looked legit and because they were Amazon approved I didnt think twice and placed the order (almost $3K).. THEN i read the reviews.... My blood cooled. I was scared out of my mind. I read reviews where people had stated that they had terrible experiences with some people claiming to have received the wrong item or NO item at all. Now, i had ordered over the easter/passoever holiday and as is customary with electronic shops (especially in NY) Focus was taking orders but not shipping or even confirming the order during the break. But when days had passed and i hadn't received a notice of them even having received the order--eventhough they had my money--I panicked. Because of this i immediately called Paypal and let them know I was worried. They put a 'item not received' dispute on the transaction. Now i don't know if it was because of this or not but within a couple of hours I had confirmation of my order and a tracking number. Still I was a bit uneasy. What if the order was wrong or they shafted me on the bundle items or worse case the camera wasn't new OR MISSING from the box. All I could do was wait and hope... The UPS track info said i'd receive the package monday morning. The knock on the door came. I accepted the box which seemed heavy and appropriate to what I had ordered. I set up a camera to record my opening the box--i was taking NO chances (well i suppose taking NO chances would have resulted in me refusing the order and having it sent back and then ordering from someone else but i figured things were on the up and up). In any event, as I recorded, I checked the box for tampering. All good. Sealed. I open it up and saw that everything at first glanced seemed good. I went for the camera first of course. The box looked new, eventhough i will never understand why it is the case that nost new high-end camera boxes are NOT sealed. Anyway, i opened the box and found everything in place (i had watched a few unboxing vids online in prep). The camera was there. in perfect condition. Working fine. I was pleased that this at least was a victory. Now onto the accessories. The lens i ordered with the camera was good as well. The accessories were ALL present and matched the items listed in the bundle. So, in summary, aside from the bit of a lack of communication at the onset of the process, my experience with Focus Camera was a very positive one--albeit one mired at first by paranoia fueled by some of the reviews on this very site (I urge any one who deals with Focus and has a similarly positive experience to post a positive review in order to help some people keep their lunch down!) In the end I'm deducting one star for the lack of early contact and giving them four stars. P.S. Incidentally, I bought a tripod ball leveler on amazon and guess who the vendor was? Yep... Focus. I had shipping confirmation within a day. So already an improvement. . read more

Worst place to buy and customer service ever. Placed an order on 11/28 for the Sony WH-1000XM3 Wireless Noise-Canceling Headphones (Black) W/ Wenger Laptop Bag bundle On 11/29, received an email to notify that the order has shipped with a tracking number of 1ZXxxxxxxxxxxxxx95. Base on the tracking information, it was supposed to deliver on Thursday 12/5/19. However when looking into the tracker details, there was another shipment associated with it with a tracking number of 1ZXxxxxxxxxxxxxx85 but status as "Order Processed: Ready for UPS". On Tuesday 12/03, talked to a customer service rep via Chat Line and asked why 1ZXxxxxxxxxxxxxx85 hasn't left yet. Supposedly cs checked with UPS and informed me that I should wait for another 24 hours to see if the status is changed or perhaps wait until Thursday to see if both shipments arrive. If not, I should contact Focus Camera again. On Wednesday 12/04, checked shipments status and 1ZXxxxxxxxxxxxxx95 was "We've received a request from the sender to return the package" and 1ZXxxxxxxxxxxxxx85 was still " Order Processed: Ready for UPS". called Focus Camera and spoke to another CS. this CSn didn't know why the 1ZXxxxxxxxxxxxxx95 was triggered to send back. Either him or the CS from yesterday initiated the package lost claim with UPS for the 1ZXxxxxxxxxxxxxx85 shipment. later received an email from him about the UPS lost package claim and UPS will contact me for more information. He also ask if I would like a refund or a replacement. On 12/05, I checked with UPS on the lost shipment and they informed me that they only talk to the shipper about the lost shipment instead. I called Focus Camera again and unfortunately I talked to a very rude CS lady whom told me that there's nothing she can do and UPS will contact me directly and I should wait until they then. I asked how long should the wait be and if there's anything Focus Camera can do her response was no and hung up from there. I emailed the CS again to request for a replacement or a full refund asap, and received the response "Unfortunately we cannot process a reshipment at this time because UPS is looking into the whereabouts of the package. Since you will be out of town, we can process a full refund once the investigation is complete." If Focus Camera business model is strive to provide excellent service to customer then I feel Focus Camera should provide a replacement instead of having me as a customer suffering thru the mishap between UPS and warehouse or unsure when will the issue resolve and leave me in limbo or my payment hostage. There should be no reason why Focus Camera cannot provide me a replacement to my order while UPS is looking into the lost package. If they found it, Focus camera always can request for return like they did for the other shipment 1ZXxxxxxxxxxxxxx95. read more

Quick shipping, excellent CS as they allowed me to add promo code after an order was shipped. :)

Customer service is poor. I ordered a music stand through Walmart.com and they shipped the item on Walmart's behalf. The item came late, and they blamed it on my leasing office. They do not cover return shipping. The people handling calls and emails are not trained well at all. I would have never ordered directly from them, seeing how poorly they are reviewed on Yelp. Malcolm was at first helpful. Later, he proved to be without any customer services skills. I love short emails, but his responses were brash, indirect, passive-aggressive, and most of all, NOT HELPFUL. Instead of helping me understand the situation, he just stated that the company could not cover shipping. During Passover while their office is closed, he failed to let me know about the return policy. And when he got back he said the return period is over. Then radio silent. His unresponsiveness was frustrating. I don't think Malcolm is a real person. Jessica was good at explaining to me the situation with my order - but she kept interrupting me and hung up on me before I could finish my last sentence. There are some very basic customer service protocols that would help improve my experience with this company, but it seems like a lack of training, and a lack of motivation to be helpful, is why I'm here today writing this review. I left a message for Joyce, the service manager. I hope she gives me a call back. This whole company is bogus in my opinion. If you are a distributor, do not work with this company as your customers will end up unhappy. There is no refuge for dissatisfied customers. read more

WHAT? ---- Email below ---- Malcolm Barbee, May 18, 3:44 PM EDT: Hello, Having the package refused may have separate fees attached to it. The best route would be to receive the package, and request a refund, so you are not charged as heavily to return this item. Please let us know if you have any further questions regarding this order or return. Thank you, Malcolm B. Customer Service Representative Update 2: I've updated this review from 1 to 3 star due to Malcolm reaching out to me. I've told Malcom that I will update this review once they have an easy way to cancel orders. Normally 15 minutes to cancel window should be provided in my opinion. In hindsight, shipping fast is a plus, but no ability to cancel and strange refund policy makes me prefer to shop elsewhere. But I do hope Focus Camera improves and will be happy to give them 5 stars when I see their policies reflect the rating. read more

First time buyer. I'm not impress with the service. I am rather disappointed. I didn't get my package until 2 weeks after I put in my order.
