Shipped wrong item and would only ship the correct item via an exchange with normal shipping speed. Customer service was adequate in response time but only offered exchange vs refund. When this has happened in the past with large or small sellers the company that shipped the wrong item immediately shipped the correct item usually with expedited shipping. I am now left to hope the original ordered item is still in stock by the time the exchange is processed. This was not a high end tv - this was a baseball mitt from the focus lifestyle brand. Update: Company reached out again to try to offer some explanation. Upon further inquiry the issue was related to Easton sku numbers in the warehouse and the original item was not available. I'm glad customer service reached out again to provide this information instead of me waiting for the exchange to ultimately fail in a few weeks. Barely average initial customer service response. Because I had an older cyber shot camera, there were fewer new things to learn, which is great. Delivery was earlier than projected which is always great. One point is that a memory card is separate (not included). I ordered this camera because the technology, while not state of the art, was an advancement over my 2009 model which works fine and will serve as a backup. Bear in mind that larger files require more memory on hardware and software. I do appreciate the updated Play Memories Home software which I had lost when my computer imploded. read more

In researching the company, I came across many negative reviews and was a little apprehensive about ordering from them, as I am sure many out there are. However, they offered an great deal on a Sony a7III camera bundle with $250 worth of free included equipment, and I took the plunge. I ordered over the phone because I am a student and called to inquire about receiving a student discount. Max was very helpful and confirmed my student status within minutes. My order shipped within 2 hours and was delivered right on schedule via UPS 2nd day air. Everything inside with brand new (no evidence of used or refurbished goods) with original packaging and sealing. Normally I don't write reviews, but my experience here was so bad, I felt compelled to do so. I placed 3 orders with them on the 17th. They had Sony A7 IIIs in stock when no one else did, and promised free one day shipping. I received a voicemail from Michael in their verification department the next day asking me to return his call and make sure the purchases were legitimate. I called back and left a voicemail since Michael wasn't available. 2 days pass and my order still shows as being "on hold". I call multiple times throughout the day and still cannot get a hold of Michael. I try live chatting with them, and the lady I talked to could not even find the order numbers in the system and eventually ended the chat by saying "shipping to California takes 4-5 business days". So much for free one day shipping. Finally, I contact them again via live chat at the end of the day and find out that my orders were cancelled due to "fraud". I didn't even receive cancellation emails or any other form of contact like any normal business would have done. Meanwhile I have thousands of dollars of pending purchases being held on my credit cards and who knows when they will finally be removed. I have my own ecommerce business and have to evaluate orders for fraud all the time. In my opinion, Focus Camera and their mysterious insurance company handled this all wrong. The large purchase amount surely threw up red flags and I don't blame them for wanting to do their due diligence. However, everything else about my orders checked out - I used my home IP address from a well known ISP and not some shady proxy like a typical fraudster would have. The billing and shipping addresses on my orders match. They should have received a "Y" AVS code from their payment processor since my address and zip code matches the info on my credit cards. And lastly, me calling verification back and leaving a voicemail stating that yes, I did indeed make and authorize those purchases should have been all that they needed to process those orders. I have bought photography equipment from DataVision, Adorama, B&H, PixelConnection, and Bedfords without any of these issues. I would recommend anyone looking to buy photography equipment to steer away from Focus Camera and try any of the above stores instead. read more

Ordered Samsung buds plus on this site via a deal site, so it was my first experience with Focus camera. They sent me last years model the Samsung buds. I wouldn't of even know but the old buds don't hookup to Samsung's app. Doesn't seem like an honest mistake. I contacted Focus camera and returned immediately. After Focus camera received the item they contacted me saying the box they received was empty. Really? Not very honest. So here I am 3 weeks later with no item and no refund. Order a Camera Bundle for an EOS 80D, received mostly everything but the most important item the camera. Now that I have, I have made some research online it seems like FC is used to doing this to customer, so either you guys are scamming people or Im not sure. I have been talking to this young man who has been nice, yet has made me feel like its my fault . the first thing I was told last friday when I called was please send photos of everything. I did that right away. Now I keep being told you need 24 hours then you need another 24-40 hours again. Then I keep being told the camera was in the box??? When it wasn't , not to mention the bag had some defects and also there was an item that was switch with another item which I chose not to make a big deal about it. If my card gets charge I will take legal action against your company because it seems like this has been done to a lot of customers lately . I need this matter resolved as soon as possible. When surfing for a specific set of high quality earbuds, I learned this was one of the few "local" stores that carried the set I was looking to buy. Instead of spending an extra $25 for a higher price + shipping, I decided a subway ride and a tangible inspection was worth risking the hassle. It became a hassle just trying to locate the store and even more of a hassle of getting them to answer the phone. Eventually I got on the line with their customer support line and the guy was able to direct me to the proper location. When I did find the store, it was so not what I had pictured in mind. It was a small little camera shop that was situated in a semi-run down neighborhood in the Borough Park area. It was the only open business on the block and the only one without graffiti all over the windows. This was an operation run by Orthodox Jews, my first encounter ever with such a specific group during my first few months as a New York transplant. Just looking around the block, it was clear that I was not one of the "locals" and stuck out like a sore thumb. Nonetheless, they were helpful in locating my item as I had called ahead of time to place a hold on it. After parting with $75 (a price much cheaper than B&H or J&R), I landed the best headphones I've ever had that I still use today (Shure E2C). They sent the correct Sony XQD card; however, instead of the OEM Sony XQD card reader, they sent a very cheap no name Made in China knock off. Thank goodness for Amazon. I returned both items and reordered from B&H Photo. They are so honest. You receive what is advertised every time. Fast shipping and perfectly packed. It amazes me that Focus can play their deceptive little game and stay in business. B&H is in the same city, but is a totally honest business. The deal for all of these items was phenomenal! I paid what I would normally pay for just one car vacuum but with all the accessories with it! The trunk organizer is pretty sturdy, the back seat organizer is also great if you have kids to store toys or extra clothes, and the car vacuum works decently too and has better suction than a past portable car vacuum I bought from Amazon. Lastly, I loved the case it came with! This is a game changer and helps to keep everything nicely organized and stores all the extra vacuum attachment pieces. i had a similar situation reported by many other reviewers. My order date slipped multiple times and customer service was of little use, just sending the same useless email response back. The shipping company stated that Focus did not provide the item to be shipped so we went around and around with no help from Customer service. I was fortunate that my order was placed through a third party that directly issued a refund to me. Although I requested a refund multiple times, Focus just sent me the same email message. If you have to mail order through this company, I would advise going through a 3rd party like Amazon, PayPal or Collect on Delievery. read more

I ordered a Sony A7III that was in stock. On Wednesday night I placed an order for one-day shipping. I did not get an order confirmation email - order kept showing as pending. I reached out to the customer service on Thursday to inquire, and they said all is ok. The camera did not arrive on Friday, and I have not received any correspondence on shipment tracking. This is just very poor fulfillment by Focus Camera. I missed a planned gig on this weekend because of the missed order. Update: ---------- I got a call from Focus Camera on Wednesday that they have been able to procure a camera for me and they are shipping it out. I received the camera the day after - promptly before 10:30 AM as promised. Given that this camera is back-ordered everywhere I looked - B&H, Adorama, and others, I'm impressed with the fact that they have been able to arrange one for me - albeit a little late. I received the camera on Thursday morning promptly before 10:30 PM - about 4 business days later than the original expected date of receipt. I'm satisfied with how the customer service handled the case, and they also offered me a gift card for the delay in their processing. Though I wish that they had not set the expectation of me receiving the item next day, I'm satisfied that they have been able to get me a unit in record time given availability of the item in the market.
