First time ordering from Focus Camera. I had been looking at a Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III RXD Lens for Sony E and it was constantly out of stock at B&H and Adorama. I saw that it was in stock with Focus and ordered it. It was included with a nice little bundle that had some things included in it that I will actually use- not just a camera bag that is too small for anything. I will order from them again! read more

---------Updated 1/18/2014--------------- Focus Camera finally shipped out the rest of our bundle. One of their customer service representatives, Daisy, was polite and helpful. Also, Newegg seemed to put some effort into our case. Anyway, we finally get what we paid for even though we had to spend a lot of energy and time to negotiate with many impolite employees of Focus Camera. read more

Max was very knowledgeable and helpful in getting my order prepared. Saved a lot of money purchasing from Focus Camera vs. the competition!

Worst Customer Service. I ordered 2 cameras on the thanks Giving day and I called up to update the quantity to 1 and Spoke to one person and the line got disconnected and contacted back and i spoke to Kevin and he was very rude and arrogant and he advised me why did you order 2 when you want only one. He told he will update that to one and he sent out an invoice for 1. Today i called them and they said he cancelled both the order and he told me that he is new to the store and he doesnt know how to update it. Now i cant get any deals anywhere.. Thanks KEVIN and FOCUSCAMERA for screwing my thanks Giving Gift.. Please dont buy here.. Buy it from Anywhere.. All the 1* stars telling the same.. read more

I will say that Joyce did a stand up job in getting the product to me via Saturday delivery and was very helpful and apologetic. She has earned an extra star only because she was terrific. read more

BOY this place went downhill. I used to shop at this joint when it was on 13th Avenue in Brooklyn and then when it moved to it's present location,. I was a professional photographer for over 30 years. The rule used to be, they would match the price charged at B & H Camera in Manhattan, Well, that's all changed now. I can do MUCH better than their prices on Amazon and other places on the internet. I just bought a high end Canon DSLR on the internet for $2500.00 and this place wanted just under 3 grand PLUS tax. Bought it online for LESS money and NO tax because the REPUTABLE vendor was out of state. The attitude of these guys ALSO sucks. I made the AWFUL mistake while with a friend of saying of the item she was buying "They have it for 10 bucks less at B & H and the guy said "THEN BUY IT THERE" and walked away. My friend had to almost BEG him to sell her the item at the original price. I let him know in no uncertain terms that he would be wearing the camera if he didn't apologize to her. He did. Lucky for him. SO, you WILL get better prices shopping on line for ALL your photographic needs. Professional or Amateur. You don't have to put up with the NASTY attitude of those working there You can avoid the tax. Go elsewhere. I rarely say "I HATE THE PLACE", but for this place, it fits,. I HATE THE PLACE. read more

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE!!! Ordered a drone on Monday to have before the weekend for a time sensitive job. My order was processed then canceled a hour later with no request from me or notification to me about being canceled had to call to find out it was cancelled! So I reordered with promise that it will be overnighted on Thursday so I would receive on Friday now when I check the tracking I wont be recieving my drone until Monday because they didnt get the package off before 5pm when the order was processed on Tuesday... now I'm out of a bunch of money and my reputation tarnished and when I spoke to customer service about it they were very rude and pretty much told me "oh well"...... will be taking my business elsewhere!!!! read more

I purchased a pair of binoculars and they doubled the order. They took close to $400.00 out of my credit card. I only authorized one order not two. Since they would not reply via eBay messaging I was forced to work with my credit card company. CC company connected me with merchant on a recorded call. Merchant provided an RMA on product I did not order. Product returned and acknowledged by Focus Camera. Even after returning they refuse to offer a refund because they claim I have an open dispute with Paypal. There is no dispute with Paypal... this was confirmed. Dispute with Chase was closed weeks ago and the outcome was that the charge was valid (meaning they did not get my money back). I am out $200.00 and no product. They took my money and refuse to give it back. CC company confirmed they had sent the full amount to Focus Camera (I had to 3 way call them) and still they are using the excuse that paypal has a dispute. $200.00 was taken from me. read more

Superior customer service. I recently ordered an item from this company and it did not ship as originally promised. However, their customer service team was super helpful in resolving the issue professionally and quickly. Kudos to Focus Camera. read more

In the market for a new Canon Rebel SL1, I went on Amazon to search for deals. I found Focus Camera on Amazon on a dealer and they had a great deal on a bundle that included the Canon Rebel SL1 as well as over 15 accessories. When I realized they were local I gave them a call. Alex answered every single question I had regarding the camera, the bundle, warranties, etc. He suggested that I come into the store to discuss the camera, lenses and price further. I went in the very next day (today) and I am GLAD that I did. Alex was extremely helpful, taking the time to show me the camera and the lenses as well as pull together all of the accessories in the bundle. Alex gave me great deals on everything - the camera, the bundle and a new 50mm lens that I bought on the spot (because who can pass up a great deal on a really great lens?!). Focus Camera sells a lot of other electronics, not just cameras. Now that I know that Focus Camera has great deals and have great people who will work with you, they will definitely have a repeat customer in me. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about this company. I ordered a Sony DSCRX10 on Amazon (fulfillment from Amazon Prime) and discovered Amazon was going to be late (27 December). I called Focus Camera directly (as their name was on the Amazon order) and they apologized for Amazon and promptly shipped out the camera on 22 December and it showed up the next day! The salesman offered me the bundle (same price as the camera alone). I not only got my wife a great camera, but a case, SD card, 2 batteries with Charger (all not included in the Sony box!) and a few other items as well. Bonus: the SD card was a genuine Sony SDXC UHS-I 64GB card with a 70MBs rating - twice the space and twice the speed that was mentioned in the online bundle. Great Company - Merry Christmas!! read more

So far This place gets a rating of zero. I ordered a $1200 lens and they send me a package that doesn't even have a lens inside. Not like they sent the wrong one, no lens at all, how does that even happen?! Now that I'm reading all the complaints about this place I'm really worried that I'm going to get scammed..... Hoping that I can update this review with something better soon :( read more

Purchased an HP computer from them. While setting the computer up, I noticed the Caps Lock key would get stuck and I would end up SHOUTING in my emails. I notified the Customer Service at Focus of the issue and then went ahead and ordered a wireless combo keyboard/mouse from another store. I received an email asking what I paid for the replacement keyboard/mouse and, in the very next email was given a credit for the entire purchase price of both the new keyboard and mouse! The credit to my account showed up in 5 minutes! Now, THAT'S customer service! Will sure use them in the future! read more

I purchase an Expresso maker on eBay from Ace Photo & Digital dba asavings. asavings is the ebay store. When it arrived and I opened it and set it up to use there were several things wrong with it. 1. The unit leaked very badly from where the coffee tool attached 2. the screws were stripped on the plate where the unit was to be attached so it could not be fixed. 3. The bottom of the unit did not sit flat and square on the counter thus causing the cups to slide off the tray and again spilling liquid everywher All they will do is exchange. I don't trust them so I want a refund and they said NO read more

I placed an E-Bay order. On the down side it wasn't right. I had read the reviews here and was anxious about how it would be handled. Dealing with Focus Camera was a real pleasure. I just traded in a Canon EOS Rebel T3i and in return upgraded to a Canon EOS Rebel T6i. The service from Focus was really amazing. Not only did I receive a fair trade price, but I received a good discount on my new camera. They worked with me and took all of the hassle out of doing business. As promised I received my camera in one day and I was really very pleased. The staff is very knowledgeable and shared that knowledge with this customer as they explained the complete process. I don't understand some of the negative reviews, because to this customer they could not have been better to do business with. read more

Somehow my credit card was charged for a product online but the order didnt go all the way through. When I contacted them about it, I had to spend 20-30 minutes re-verifying a bunch of information on the phone so that they could send me the binoculars, which I was assured they would. Annoying that it took so long and that they couldnt just ask for the info in an email...but whatever, not a big deal. Then, fast forward a month later, I still don't have the binoculars. Clearly they somehow just lost or forgot about everything I told them on the phone. Instead of apologizing and trying to fix it, they just refund my money without asking me if that's what I want. Of course it was for a christmas gift so I had already wrapped up a picture of binoculars for my parents to show them that the binoculars must still be in the mail, as I was assured they would be sent to me by focus camera. So basically they tried to fix the problem originally, and then made a huge mistake by forgetting about it, and then made an even bigger mistake for deciding I wasn't even worth their time a month later (all emails from them were kind of cold and rude as well) . Do yourself a favor and just order from any other company, I don't understand how a company like this can keep their head above water (I guess maybe, from taking advantage of customers that don't notice their mistakes?) read more

I was looking for the Sony A7iii, which is new and has been out of stock at all of the bigger competitors (B&H, etc.). After weeks of checking in with B&H, I started to look for other venues and came across Focus. I read their reviews on Yelp and was a little skeptical, but gave them a call anyway. I spoke with Ken and he couldn't have been more helpful. He was very knowledgable about the availability issue and explained he had some coming in that afternoon. I bought the camera and it shipped out that day and I got it the next day, free shipping. The next day, I went to purchase a lens, the Sony 24-105, from B&H, but they were out of stock. Again I contacted Focus and they had it in stock. They seem to have things when others don't and on top of that, their customer service was excellent. Perhaps I've found a new vendor for my camera equipment. read more

They are a prime shipper with amazon. I thought it was amazon fulfillment, so I accidentally bought through them. 2 day shipping? nope. Ordered on saturday, I found out sunday it would be wednesday. I would be at work, it was a must sign. I cancelled order and sent may emails...also saying they could change the address to my work. I would be working for the next 7 days, all day, no one to sign...I would never get item. They refused to cancel, refused to change address, and over the next two days refused to return to sender...most of this was before a label was even printed for UPS. Amazon had to call and force them to return to sender. I then purchased the item from amazon. Unit was delivered back to focus on wed the 3rd...refund was supposed to happen. It is now the 9th, no money... This place seems like a scam, especially based on other reviews of online purchases. I would highly suggest finding another seller. They also mentioned they would charge me return to sender fees...why? Because a day after i sent them a cancellation they decided to print a label...and then 4 hours later send it to UPS? Puh lease.... this is a scam company and you should just stay away.... read the other reviews....late deliveries, useless charges on returns, cannot stop shipments once ordered, even if on back order.. This place is a stay away.... And they still owe me over 3200 dollars....... scumbags. read more

Will never buy from them again. I bought a Nest as a result of a Black Friday ad. Gave it as a holiday present and recipient went to install it this weekend, only to learn it was the wrong model for their system. I tried to exchange this for the right one (more expensive but I was happy to pay the difference.) A mistake was made and FOCUS was assigned the job of shipping a Amazon Prime order in 2 Days. They ignored this requirement and shipped a camera destine to be a birthday present by slowest possible way... it arrive in 8 or 9 days long after the candles were out. In the meantime I was forced to buy a second camera and get it overnight. I am still out of pocket for both. FOCUS sends you instructions for sending it back to them but expects you, the person who did not get the camera on time (despite of clearly indicating 2 day "Prime shipping), to pay for shipping it back. There customer service is NY flippant and could not care less about the customer. Buy from this supplier at your own considerable risk. read more

I will never buy anything from Focus Camera. Dirty bait-and-switch! My order got cancelled two days later after my credit card had been charged. Focus Camera is saying "listing error". I will never buy anything from Focus Camera. Dirty bait-and-switch! read more

WARNING - Do NOT purchase from Focus Camera!! After over a month since my original order and first receiving the wrong product, then returning it, waiting for the correct item to come, contacting "customer service" (the rudest people I've ever dealt with), and finally being told they no longer stock the product and that I have been "issued a refund"...I have not seen a refund processed to my account (it's been a week since I was told it was issued). I am without product, a product that still shows up as available for purchase online. Again, it has been over a month of me pursuing Focus Camera to get answers. The whole process has been a consumer nightmare! Every step of the way Focus Camera has continued to make errors, be rude with responses, never acknowledge errors have been made or that they will make steps to fix the process so it doesn't happen again, nor offer to make things right in any way, shape, or form. read more

Fraudulent business practices. I had placed an online order for the Sony 24mm 1.4 GM an hour after the "IN STOCK" notification email was sent on Thursday and even referred several others to the site as well cancelling our place in line at other retailers. The lens remained "IN STOCK" on their site throughout the weekend. Called today (Wednesday) to inquire about the status of my order and was told they were sold out even though the site had them listed as "IN STOCK" days after my order was placed. The explanation provided was it takes time to "validate" an order which I don't exactly understand considering there was a hold placed on my card for the full amount almost immediately after ordering and surely wouldn't take days to update inventory with "OUT OF STOCK". Frustrated that I didn't read any reviews prior to placing my order and cancelling my place in line at B&H, now I along with several others are back in queue waiting on another shipment. I can only assume this was the intent of leaving the lens "IN STOCK" up on their site. From the reviews it seems this isn't the first and definitely wont be the last occurrence. Suggest anyone else in a similar situation file a complaint to the BBB and FTC under "Misleading Advertising and Deceptive Marketing" to bring attention to this retailer. read more

Just another terrible review for this business. Customer service was horrible! I had a $25 gift receipt that only showed up at having 5 cents. It was literally a month old. No problem I say, this is something simple to fix. Had to go through a long process dealing with rude customer service. They figured everything was settled until I find out it only had $2.50 on it! Called again and got the classic run-around. Finally resolved, but the items I bought with the GC were dead on arrival. At this point I gave up. Terrible place, it's a wonder how they're still in business considering all the horrible reviews they get. read more

Terribly slow shipping. Ordered on a Friday evening, and the package did not go out until Wednesday night. (Monday was a holiday, but still...) Package was sent via UPS Mail Innovations (which means UPS hands the package off to the US Postal Service), which gives an estimate of 7 more days for delivery from New Jersey to Manhattan. (The company is in Brooklyn, but they ship from South Jersey.) If they had sent the package by regular UPS Ground, I would have had it in 1 day. The Customer Service agent was rude and not at all helpful, blaming the delay on "Them" (i.e., their shipping department). This was my first and last order from Focus Camera. read more
