Focus Camera is Amazon's vendor for the Nikon camera I bought. Their customer service is truly and totally lame. When we had a problem after the 30-day return period was up, Amazon referred me to Focus. I emailed several times, but never got a response, except their auto-responses saying they will contact me. Their auto-responses, to my shock, also asked that Amazon not be contacted to complain about them! They seem to go on vacation a lot and never get caught up when they get back. We waited for almost a month, and still no follow-up by them. Very poor way to run a business! Instead, we sent camera back to Nikon directly. read more

Bought an item online and a lesser brand came in the mail from what was advertised. Have to package back up, send, buy the correct brand from a reputable business, and miss using the device on my trip. Waste of my time and frustrating. read more

I bought a digital voice recorder the service was great

Purchased a "sony" camera from them on Amazon in Dec 2014. Battery door broke. They refuse to assist in the matter keep stating to call Sony. A Sony camera should last longer than 16 months! Obviously they sold a faulty product and don't care. I will NEVER purchase from them again. read more

Bought a big ticket item from Focus Camera on eBay on the 19th. The item is suppose to ship within 3 days after cleared payment and it's the 24th; the item has not been shipped. I am currently on the move and travelling for business and this does not meet my time line requirement. Sent three e-mails and received no response. Had to open a case with PayPal to dispute the charge. read more

Purchased a "certified refurbished" desktop computer from them through Amazon Marketplace. The computer crapped out after 6 months. When I contacted the seller (through Amazon), I was informed that I was beyond the warranty period (30 days). How convenient. Selling defective electronics with an impossibly short return period is a great way to make a tidy profit. Based on my personal experience, I wouldn't be surprised if the whole operation is a scam. read more

I had a wonderful experience with Focus!! Ralph was very helpful with my questions and he went above and beyond with helping me with my purchase! I'm looking forward to my next Focus experience. Thanks again, Ralph and Focus!! read more

Don't buy from these people. I bought online and it's been a huge hassle. Really bad customer service. Not worth the trouble.

This has been the worst experience ever. I ordered a camera from this company on 12/2 and have yet to receive it 30 days later. i called to ask to speak with a manager in regards to this matter and the manager was yelling and screaming at me. There was no empathy even though I am the one who is out of 700$. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE read more

I ordered a camcorder kit - received all of the items promised. Very fast (2 days) with free shipping. Delivered as promised - everything was perfect. I recommend this store. read more

Never buy from this company. My wife and I bought a camcorder for our wedding and were sent a $25 gift card as part of the "sale" price. The card would not work on multiple occasions and the company was very rude each time we contacted them. We still have been unable to use the$25 gift card and after talking to others who have had the exact same problem believe this company is a scam. After many positive experiences with online sellers this is our worst experience to date. read more

I ordered a printer, and it was in the mail the same day. Arrived yesterday and it is perfect! The price cannot be beat and the customer service was great. (I ordered over the phone.) Thank you Joyce!!!! read more

I ordered a Sony NEX5 Silver with 15-55MM lens and a 16GB SD card on 12/19/2010 and received all items on 12/24/2010. When I found the camera is kind of complicated to operate compared to the other SLR camera, I called the Sales rep and he directed me to the customer service, plus he told me due to the Holiday purchase, there is no restocking fee. I get hold of the customer service and they told me the RMA#, I put everything in the original shipping box and went to the UPS and shipped it. I got UPS tracking and the camera arrived in NY (from CA) in about 5 days on 1/7/2011. It took them more than 2 weeks to refund my total purchases (Camera and the unopened SD card), I would have given 5-star if the refund process is more expedited. I will definitely come back to buy other items. read more

First delivered item was wrong. Focus replaced item and allowed me to keep wrong item for my inconvience. Second delivery was the correct item but it was damaged in shipment. For some reason, I have to complete this review in order for them to address the damage issue. read more

My order was filled nicely, though I think their order status notification system needs to be improved -- the order just suddenly shipped after a few days of silence. I think this points to a general problem with customer service. I had ordered my item to be shipped overnight and paid over $30 to get it overnight. However, due to UPS mistakes, I received the item after 4 days. So I wrote to Focus asking for a refund on the shipping cost. I realize this was not Focus's mistake, but they have the UPS account and should claim for a refund on my behalf. However, nothing. Only reply I got was the automated reply that said they received my claim. I wrote them twice over a span of two weeks. It is now almost a month later and still nothing. I think Focus runs an honorable business, but really needs to improve customer service for online orders. I'm thankful that my problem was just with this shipping charge and not anything more serious with the order itself. read more

Very convenient camera store in Brooklyn. I don't have to travel to Manhattan, and they offer great prices. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable about cameras. They helped me purchase the right lens for my camera to fit my needs. They also have studios coming soon, which I plan to take advantage of. A gem in Brooklyn. read more

Unlike other reviewers I ordered a "Samsung Galaxy S III mini", and it didn't work! Once I asked for a refund, they exchanged the phone for another one. The second phone was broken too! The phones were international devices, and they wouldn't turn on. As a result, Samsung's tech support could not trouble shoot the phone. It was very annoying to wait on the line to get assistance. I think they should get a new person for morning customer service hours to speed up the process. I guess this might be a better store for locals or people who want to buy a camera or headphones. However, if you live in Texas or any other state that isn't New York, don't order a phone from them. read more

Focus is up to their usual tricks of not accepting returns and refunding the customer. I went to the WalMart web site to order a Leaf antenna. WalMart redirected me to Focus Camera where I was able to purchase the antenna I wanted. The antenna would not work in the city I live in so I first attempted to return the antenna to WalMart. WalMart told me I had to return the antenna to Focus Camera. When I contacted Focus Camera they denied my request to return the antenna. Focus Camera has a pretty good thing going for them, really working over the customer. I will NEVER buy from them again. I can't believe they can stay in business. read more

Very disappointing company. They advertised a Slingbox M1 for $99.99. When I called, they first denied it, saying the price is higher than that. Then they said it was a factory rebate that is over. Finally, they admitted it was advertised on their website at $99.99 but then claimed it was a mistake. They refused to honor the price and then hung up the phone on me. Stay away from this Brooklyn New York company. Honesty and good customer service are obviously not on their radar! read more

I wish I had read reviews before I ordered. The online store is the worst. I ordered a video camera for my grandson for Christmas (Dec. 8,2016). I still haven't received it. I called on Dec. 21, 2016 and was told there was a mixup with UPS. The customer service lady promised me it would be her on that Friday. Guess what, it wasn't. I have called eastern time several times and they say customer service is closed. Paypal has already paid for it, so I am very frustrated and so is my grandson. Will never do business with them again. Take Heed!!!! read more

I ordered a shipping scale from Focus Camera online. The first one was defective, and when I contacted Felecity, she responded quickly. She was apologetic that I received a defective scale, and shipped a new one. I really appreciate businesses that back up their merchandise, I did read through some of the negative reviews, and was taken aback. I had a positive experience with this business. read more

Not sure what all these negative reviews are about, but I had a great experience with this seller. I normally do not ever write reviews (although frequently look at them), but I felt this company deserves a much higher Yelp rating. I purchased an item fulfilled by this seller on Jet.com. Item came 100% authentic, at an unbelievable price, in a timely manner (5 days shipping time to West Coast). I would buy from this retailer again. read more

BUYER BEWARE!! If I could give this company zero stars I would. I do most of my shopping online. I am not the novice online shopper. I have never left negative feedback on any company before but I have also never dealt with a company which had this much disregard for the customer. I ordered the Sony a6000 bundle, they sent me the Sony a5000 bundle. I talked to customer service three times and had upwards of 13 email exchanges. Every person I interacted with provided me with different information as to how to go about the return/exchange. Either their employee's aren't familiar with their own company policies, or they are purposely trying to make this difficult for the customer and/or they all just lie. They had absolutely no interest or concern in trying to correct THEIR error or make it right. At one point, I was told that I would need to pay for return shipping and pay a 15% restocking fee FOR THEIR ERROR. I was also told that if the camera was opened, the return may not be processed. Mind you, the first customer service person told me to give him the serial number off the camera (aka, open it) and the second customer service person I talked to told me they didn't care about the serial number, but instead needed to send them pictures (aka, open it) then the third said since it was opened, the return may not be processed. This place is a scam and doing any business with them is RISKY. Luckily, I ended up finding a home for the camera and never had to go through continued agony with this company. Mind you, they got me good, I paid for a better camera than I received and they can use that money to keep paying people to post bogus good reviews of them online. read more

I phoned Focus Camera this morning and spoke to Dan. As a middle-aged lady who has never had a smartphone, I really appreciated Dan's patience and advice - he even ended up saving me $100!! His customer service was absolutely fantastic and I could not recommend him highly enough. If you have a question about one of their products, however stupid you think your question might be, speak to Dan and I am sure he will sort you out. The phone I eventually purchased from Focus Camera was way cheaper than Amazon or Overstock, plus I now have the security of having a real live person in a bricks and mortar business that I can contact if I have any problems! read more

Selling things on ebay that they don't have, charging your paypal account, then making you go thru the hassle of shipping it back to them. They assume you have a printer to print the return label, and have the time to take the package to a ups store, and do not refund your money until it is sent back. They did not extend any courtesy to make up for it and hardly answered emails. Albeit they did answer the phone and were polite on the phone, just selling things they don't have. That is a huge problem and a huge waste of my time. read more

First time customer. Found what I needed on Amazon with the main camcorder to be drop shipped from Focus Camera. But, no time. I needed it tomorrow, not in 48 hours. So, I called Focus directly. Ralph picked up the phone on my call. Fast. Efficient. Knowledgeable. Fair. Cordial. The total price worked out to be less than I would have paid via Amazon for a string of video items (and some of it would have come from Focus anyway), delivered the next day, with free shipping. I'm happy I called them directly when I was in a time crunch. They'll be my first call when shopping next-time for video electronics. read more

An absolute rotten company to do business with. Either they are dumb or stupid I have not decided yet. They promised to overnight a Microscope to me 3 times i re-iterated to the girl on the phone the urgency. They never shipped it. When I called they said it Just left 10 minutes ago come to find out this was a lie. In fact it was not picked up until several hours later. They shipped it 3 pm delivery rather than the UPS Red I paid for. In general these are DISHONEST PEOPLE STAY AWAY.... BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD read more

Bought a NEW Logitech remote Nov 13, 2011 on Ebay, paid instantly. FocusCamera sent a refurbished unit showing use with no instructions or warranty I contacted them immediately and asked for a refund. They keep stalling and offering $10 off. 6 weeks later and they are still stalling. FC has yet to issue a return authorization. FC told me if I dropped the dispute I started with Paypal FC could offer a resolution! DO NOT do business with these cheaters and scammers. Minus 5 stars would be more accurate. read more

Customer Service is horrible!! I called within the 30 days to return the faulty product we had ordered and the guy said he would email us the return slip which we never got. I recently purchased a Sony a7iii Camera body from Focus Camera and I spoke with Joyce and Max during my transaction and had a great experience! I have read the not so flattering reviews and I am sorry that those people had that experience however I have to say mine ended up quite well. They 2 day shipped me the camera for free and the camera was recently used at an event and it performed flawlessly!!! All other online camera stores were out of stock so I took my chances (only based on the prior reviews) and was very happy to get super quick service and shipping. The day before I purchased the camera I sent an email to Focus and Joyce replied within a couple hours. The next day I called her directly and she confirmed they did have the camera in stock and then transferred me to max to take my payment. 2 days later I had the camera in my hands and did a shoot with it yesterday. Thank you Focus Camera for the great service!!! read more

I found them online and when I realized they were located 5 minutes from my house I decided to stop in. I really needed these 43mm filters for a photo shoot and none of the other local shops had it in stock. After arriving a Focus Camera I was greeted by 2 gentlemen behind the counter who were eager to help. I asked them if, by any chance, they had the filter I needed. He checked his computer and he had 54 of them in stock ! Jokingly, he asked me how many I needed and I told him I only needed one and we laughed. Within 3 minutes I had the filter in my hand and I was heading over to my photo shoot. Thank you so much Bruce and the rest of the Focus gang! read more

This is the 2nd time I'm trying to leave a review of this company. I'm not quite sure why it was removed as all the guidelines were met. The fact is, I placed an order with this company online for a total of $195. They took it upon themselves, WITHOUT reaching out to me, to substitute what I ordered, rather than contacting me to inquire if that was acceptable. It was NOT acceptable. A call to customer service provided a return label - to the Brooklyn location. They received the items back, and it took another week for my account to be refunded. The refund should have been issued IMMEDIATELY upon learning that the error was on their part, not mine. But yet they STILL made it go through a refund process. It's not appropriate to substitute an item without passing it by the customer, and if they take the liberty to do that, and it's not acceptable, a refund should be issued immediately. I should NOT have had that $195 on my credit card for several weeks while it went through their internal process. WILL NOT do business with this company again. Please don't remove my review again - it's totally appropriate & follows all guidelines. read more

They are basically trying to scam people who are not careful. I purchased a pair of headphones that were on an incredible discount from Walmart's online website. Focus Camera Shipped me the wrong pair of headphones (about half the price of the ones I ordered), and the return process had several minute details and specifications that they wanted me to follow, and they charge you a fee of 15% if the box has been opened/damaged in any way. They also did not send me the headphones I ordered, but simply issued a refund, justifying that they were 'out of stock', even though I checked their website literally every single day between returning the headphones they sent me and being issued a refund, and the headphones I ordered were in-stock every time. Bad business, basically trying to scam careless consumers. Do not buy from them. read more

I purchased the nicon 510 as a gift. when the package arrived it was a disgrace. the safety tape had been torn off and all the contents were out of their packaging and scattered about loose.
