I have been using this Foasberg Cleaners location for quite a few years now and this was after trying 3 other cleaners in our area. This location by far is the best cleaners in the area. Customer service is a must for me, I spent many years in customer service positions and managed many customer service representatives in my career, of course my clothes are important too and they have done an excellent job handling all my needs. Barbara is one of the best customer oriented people I know! I am always welcomed with a smile and a lot of laughs : ) In fact the whole crew at Foasberg is a warm and friendly crew. I cannot say that many of the businesses I visit these days has such an environment and it is very rare that my name is ever remembered in those locations. I walked into Foasberg an among them an argument was going on. It was an unpleasant situation.

I have been going to Foasberg for a bit since I moved back into the area. They have always had my items clean and ready to go in a very timely manner. I have always appreciated their speed and friendly service. What has prompted me to write this review however is the exemplary job done by their employee, Omar. I brought in some items late on a Thursday. They were scheduled for a Saturday pickup which was fine because I was in no rush. Later that night I realized that I needed one of the items (a jacket) for a dinner I was going to the next night. I called, Omar picked up, and I explained my situation. Though he said it would be difficult to get the shirts (which I didn't care about but it was nice of him to try), he would do his best with the jacket. A short time later he called me back to say that he was going to attempt to get the jacket in as a rush order for pick up at 10am on Friday, but said that it may be as late as the afternoon. I thanked him for his effort and told him whatever he could do would be appreciated. The next day I called at around 10:30am, not really expecting it to be ready. Lo and behold the jacket was cleaned and ready to go. I drove over to pick it up and it looked just like new. I thanked the woman (I'm sorry I didn't catch your name!) who helped me and I was on my way. My only regret was that Omar wasn't there for me to thank personally. We are bombarded with choices when it comes to services, whether it's a hair cut, food, clothing, coffee, etc. Even cleaners. But it's this kind of personal attention and commitment to fulfilling a customer's request, especially when it's a last minute change of plans, that really makes a difference. I have been coming to Foasberg on Broadway and Redondo for the past 18 years. For ten years I use to live really close to Foasberg, but then moved, and I continue to come back when I really need some drying cleaning and shirt laundering done right away. If you bring the clothes in before 11am they can have it done by 6pm same day during the week. I have such a hectic schedule that this works. I always give them an A+! read more

You have to like a business that makes a mistake but figures out how to make it right. A few weeks ago I left some shirts I needed for a trip, on a Sat. & said I needed them on Mon. & they said they would be there after 6. Which was fine. I went in on Monday Evening but the shirts were not there. I was leaving early Tuesday morning from LAX for a two week trip and I was not happy. Anyway they figured out how to get the shirts done - they were at their other location, in time for me to pick them up on the way to the airport. They did this and gave me a credit etc. good recovery from a problem. That is what good customer service is. read more

I've never written a review for yelp ... but I felt sooooo angry that I had to sign up just so I can warn people about this place!!! WARNING!!!!! FOASBERG CLEANERS HAS HIDDEN FEES AND TRY TO CHEAT YOU!!!! check your bill next time and look for a "heavy soil" charge. I asked what this was and they told me that if my dress shirts had extra stains or "ring around the collar" that they had to do extra cleaning. That makes sense!!! Well, to test this, I washed all my shirts prior to dropping them off for 3 weeks in a row. Still charged me every time!!! AWESOME Also, they often will bury an "environmental fee" into your bill (also under "heavy soil" sometimes) even if you bring in more than 1 item. THere is a sign right in the store that says and environmental fee will be charged on single items. Ok i get that. THEN WHY DO YOU CHARGE ME WHEN I BRING IN 6 dress shirts!!! On principle, I hate being cheated. I also hate when companies knowingly cheat their unknowing customers.Its not a lot of money .. $1-2 each time ... but it adds up ... and its the principle of it. Foasberg Cleaners were found to be very convenient in reference to location and the time it is open. The employees are friendly and professional, yet I have had problems with the cleaning of shirts at this establishment. This being the third time having a problem, I decided to write a review. I asked for starch on a dress shirt and once I got it home I saw that the shirt had several starch stains on the front of the shirt and along the sleeve which made it un-wearable, in addition the sleeves were not even ironed. It appeared as if the bottle of starch dripped all over the shirt (purple dress shirt with white starch stains). The time before this, I have a white military shirt that I was giving them yet it kept coming back less white when I gave it to them. I asked them to make a correction which they took the shirt back for two days and it was slightly less grayer. Not sure if they were washing it with other people dark laundry. Bought the shirt home and washed it and it turned white again...decided not to take it back there no more. Prior to that, shirts that were asked to be ironed were ironed with wrinkles in it. In my opinion the initial staff is outstanding yet the people who actually work on your clothes in the back scenes give low standard quality work which is not worth the money. I will be taking this last shirt back to show the damage and ask for my money back so that I can take it and get the problem corrected. And the advertisement on the outside of the building... false! You know your not getting a good deal when they don't let you pay up front. After my last ordeal, basically them by charging me for dry cleaning when I specified laundry. Returning everything to me with wrinkles and stains, making me go back there 4 times for re-do's! and denying me a refund because the only person who has the authority to give refunds is the main manager who is never there. An employee tells me the main manager comes in a couple times a month! first off, i wish i could rate fewer than one star. foasberg's is right across the street from my apartment, so the other day my boyfriend walked over with two button-down shirts and a sweater. they told him they would be ready that day at 6pm. we went back that night and not only where they not ready, but the guy said he didn't have any record of his clothes. they told him to come back the next day so they could look for his clothes. he went back two days later, and they gave him his three pieces- for over $18! isn't that just ridiculous? they told him that they charged him extra because they were dirty. um, duh? don't you take things to be cleaned because they are dirty? this place is overpriced and honestly, aren't a great dry cleaners. his shirts look okay because they are pressed, but they don't look any better than after we throw them in the washer. i'll never go there agian. read more

This is the second time Foasberg has lost an item of mine. They didn't give me one of my shirts that was supposed to be dry cleaned and were defensive about it when I returned to get to the bottom of what happened. Beware! It's your word against theirs and they say they checked the cameras which I find hard to believe that it would be able to capture the exact number of shirts in a plastic garment bag loaded with all kinds of other items. The shirt was only $30 and they offered a store credit without acknowledging responsibility. I turned down their offer--I don't want your credit this is about the principle. They have one job and that's to clean and return the items they are given. Like I said this is the second time they've failed to do that for me. And on other occasions I've received garments that weren't even mine! Consider yourself warned when deciding who to entrust with your clothing. read more

Criminals! How I would describe this business in one word. After being a loyal customer for over five years, spending well over $100/month, they have proven to be liars, thieves, and one of the most despicable businesses I've ever dealt with. I dropped off a pair of leather pants that were new and had never been cleaned before. The value of these pants were $995 + tax and were only six weeks old. They made me sign a waiver in case anything happened to them during the course of cleaning to which I was understanding; leather can be tricky, I get that. I was told they would take "up to two weeks" to be ready. Fine. I returned two and half weeks later and they were "not ready." I continued to return on a weekly basis, dropping off new loads of dry cleaning each week and following up on the status of my leather pants. After six weeks, I was becoming increasingly irritated and losing confidence. In the meantime, I received a phone call from the manager of the Broadway location, Barbara, to tell me they had "ruined" a pair of pants of mine - not the leather pants - a different pair. Great. Okay, shit happens, now what are you going to do about it? I asked that they just comp my dry cleaning bill when I went to pick up the rest of what was being cleaned along with the now ruined pants. When I went in that same night, I was told that they would "reduce the balance of my bill by $27.00." $27.00?! First - how did they estimate the value of my pants to be $27.00? I DO NOT OWN A SINGLE GARMENT WORTH $27.00, nor would I pay to have one dry cleaned if I did! Second - After paying the remaining $60.00 of my bill, I asked where the ruined pants were, to which the girl replied, "We discarded them. They were ruined." Excuse me?! What gives you the right to throw my clothes away? "Ruined" or not, that is up to me. At this point, I presume them to be stolen. After that incident, I vowed only to return to pick up my STILL MISSING leather pants. It was two weeks later that I received another phone call from Barbara to tell me, "Bad news. Those leather pants are gone. They've just disappeared. We can't find them anywhere." Mind you, this is almost two months after dropping them off, following up weekly and another pair ruined in the meantime. I asked that they replace the leather pants - she hung up on me after I told her what they cost. Fast forward to today - I have called the owner at head quarters, James, six times and documented each unsuccessful attempt; my fiance has now called four times, and each time we are answered by a woman that says, "He's not available. I can take a hand written note and deliver it to him personally." He has not returned a single phone call. His next contact will be the serving of papers for the small claims lawsuit I will be filing. I have also filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau and I will be making it my mission to encourage all locals in my neighborhood take their business elsewhere. Bottom line, if you value your things, have good taste and don't want to contribute to disgusting thieves, avoid this place at all costs. No! It is hillarious the production these people go through to take a fricken shirt out of your hands. There are these computers that are built inside of the counter with a glass plate over them to see in. The employees then have to put sunglasses on, shade their eyes, and lean really close to the glass to see the screen and type in everything their is to be known about you but that no laundry mat needs to know, which is why the line is always out the door. Do not be fooled when you drive by and you see this line and want to say to yourself "That must be an establishment right there, look at all those people"! No! It is because of the mysterious computers, the shady employees, and the laundry that they can never quite clean all the way and just can't quite ever return all the laundry that you left them with. The workers have no idea of what customer services is, my clothes still had stains, my clothes still smelled like perfume and the prices are ridiculous. Bad experience. I went to get one pants hem and two pants altered ONLY and one dress dry cleaned when I was there they wouldn't give me an estimate nor around $__? price.. so I had them do it - they keep changing the price first person wasn't clear, 2nd person on the phone said $27, and when I got there with back the first person said its $43.. crazy price for easy work I could have a child done... and they were forced to lower the price to $30 thank god... but when I got home they didn't do my pants as I wanted... my brand new pants... I was happy and thought because they adjusted the price I MIGHT go back again... but since they messed up my pants... no way. If you go there ask for a price list.. which they don't have by the way they have it framed in small letters for THEM to see only. First time and last time there... I don't know the pricing of cleaners so I might sound greedy or something but it was more of the principle how they wouldn't give me a price.... or price list so I'd be prepared.
