DO. NOT. TRUST. Chris Darafeev will keep your deposit and never ship a product. I gave a $3000 deposit a few years ago for a pair of GTR headlights. No deposit was requested but I offered it since the owner, Chris Darafeev, was struggling around Christmas time to get gifts for his small children. Chris promised to build my lights and ship them out for several months and never did. Finally I requested a refund and he promised he would send it. Over the next several months he refused to answer phone calls and texts. Occasionally I would get an apologetic email response promising to refund the deposit and giving me the life sob story. Fast forward a few years, I still have not received a penny back or the headlights that were ordered. Also, be aware that Chris Darafeev is using new customer deposits to pay back refunds. I order a product over a month ago and he said it would take an additional 2 months to get it to me. Keep in mind I ordered a 12" led strip!! After seeing FlyRyde's work on a couple of friends cars, I knew I wanted something done. Being a girl and relativity new to the 'scene', Chris really took the time to explain things to me. Being indecisive really sucks but he really let me know what was going to work the best. After some back and forth (and me finally making up my mind), I booked a date to drive out. When I pulled up, Chris came out and let me know exactly where to park and was more than accommodating. He even pulled out some chairs so I could sit and watch him work. I took this scammer to small claims court and he got his ass handed to him by the judge. Like Chris said to the judge after too many failed attempts to fix the lights he should have met his match. I WON and he lost! Chris said that only a judge would be the one to tell him to refund me my money back and even though it's been almost 3 weeks he still hasn't funded me what I was awarded by the COURT SYSTEM!! This is the only way anyone can get their money back. So FYI to anyone that wants a refund, YES you are entitled to a refund! If Chris says different just take him to small claims and then he may end up paying you back. read more

I have a 2009 Nissan GTR and I hired Chris at FlyRyde to completely revamp my headlights. He painted/baked the headlights matte black, put in switchback bulbs, added dual LED angel eyes on both sides and also added to daytime running LED light set-ups in the front. The end result looks professional, classy and very stylish, and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. At first, the set up had a few issues, but Chris made good on fixing it (since this was a first time speciality build) and my 5-star rating is two-fold, both in Chris's professionalism as a businessman taking care of a customer's needs and also in the amazing work and detail on my car. If you have a custom job, I highly recommend letting Chris go over various set-ups to meet your needs. Buyer beware. FlyRyde is taking orders from buyer deposits to cover orders that are potentially years old. It took over a year to get my lights only to have faulty used crap show up. The lights leak and are periodically working with various small parts blocking bulbs. At this moment FlyRyde is not a legal company in California. FlyRyde is not DOT approved. FlyRyde is acting as a Ponzi scheme taking deposits to settle previous bad transactions. Has responded to my text, thinking I was other upset customers. Lights leak when wet No soldered contacts. Beware that products sold on their website do not say if they are out of stock or not. I happened to purchase Morimoto XSB strips from them and no where on the site did it say out of stock. The thing is with retrofits, you need the products on time. I only live 2 hours away and shipping should've been fast. I texted the company(only way on contact by the way) and they said that my order would be shipped and have a tracking # by the next day in the afternoon. It is now two days later and they said that the item I ordered is back ordered for over a week. Yeah... The response time is so slow with this company, responding to 1 text a day when I sent 3 questions. As of right now I texted them to cancel the order for a refund, which I did 5 hours ago and still no response, if I don't hear back from them in 2 business days I'm going to by bank to issue a charge back. Unprofessional. Update: They finally are taking take of my order cancelation 1 day later I'll update this review if everything goes smoothly. Update2: I have tried to contact this company about my order cancellation/refund for 3 days now and no one responds, it seems like I got fooled. Anyways if I don't hear back from them within the next 48 hours I'm just going to file a chargeback on my card. AVOID ORDERING FROM WEBSITE. Update 3: Well it's been almost 3 weeks when I asked to cancel my online order for a refund and today they finally issued the refund. Now I just have to wait 5 business days dorky money back. As a lighting enthusiast, I'm so happy that I discovered Chris at FlyRyde! The last 3 vehicles I've owned have been enhanced with the expertise and attention to detail that Chris brings to the table. Now, keep in mind that old saying, "Patience is a virtue." I made the mistake of finding someone else on Craigslist (SMH!) to do a retrofit on one of my cars because I "just wanted it done, ASAP" and it turned out to be a disaster! I ended up selling that car and vowed to never go to someone without a good reputation again. I'm truly happy with the work Chris does on my cars. I have a Honda S2000 (check out his website to see the video) that he recently worked on. It gets SO much attention and people compliment my lights ALL THE TIME! I even had a few kids in a BMW 5 series follow me into the gas station just to say, "Bro! Your lights are sick! Who did them and can they do mine?" (Keep that in mind before you have a job done. If you get sick LEDs from bumper-to-bumper, you're not going to be able to roll "incognito", LOL!) My driving experience feels more advanced with each job that Chris does. The latest job on my S2K truly takes the cake! One day while my car was parked on the street, I left the new LED DRLs on so I could see how the intensity stacked up to OEM units, and I was very pleased with the results! My inner boy (that grew up on shows like Knight Rider and The Dukes of Hazzard) gets excited with every drive. What can I say? I love cars and technology! I could go on and on, but I'll wrap it up with these final words: Not only is Chris seriously talented, he's a really nice guy... a family man; fun to hang with. I'm a customer for life! Had my 2010 Genesis Coupe's headlights retrofitted (the proper way) with Lexus projectors and painted oem white to match the car. The installation and finished product looks amazing! I'm hopefully going to do more customizations with them very soon. *Was sent one wrong clear lens (from another company) and it took us a while to figure out why the output was so strange, they figured it out and changed it out with their own lenses, and they look great!
