I was searching for a nail salon within Exton and I ran across Floris Nails. My nail technician, Laura, was fabulous. She was extremely professional, very polite, and talented. The prices there were pretty reasonable for the above average service I received. While I was there, I noticed a rude customer that left in a hurry and decided to toss a dollar bill at the worker. I couldn't believe it!! In my opinion, if I received great service I would tip appropriately (20%). People please treat others the way you would want to be treated. Went for a gel mani and pedi. Gel nail polish changed colors within 24 hours. Almost like oxidized. Went back and they changed the polish. Awful shabby gel manicure. Chipped in one day. I have been to the salon in the past and have always been pleased. Today was just a mediocre experience. I came in for a gel manicure and a pedicure for vacation. The gentleman that provided my service never offered me the "menu" to choose which salon services I wanted. I probably would have upgraded my pedicure, but when I realized he wasn't going to offer I was pretty much too far in. He was very unsociable, not talking and sort of bossy about what he wanted me to do. At one point I must've had my fingers the wrong way and he very currently said "just relax". I couldn't wait to get out there. My nails look pretty good, I just hope they hold up. First visit and last! I arrived at my appointment at 2PM, sat down with a nail tech and told her that I had been growing out my natural nails under acrylics for the past few months to get some length and wanted to have the acrylics removed so that I could get a gel manicure on my own nails. She begins sanding the color off, which I thought was rather odd, since she was going to remove them anyway. She then sands the edge of my pinky and asks me if that length was okay. (Now I think it's safe to say that most of us are used to the slight language barrier that sometimes exists in the nail industry.) So I explained to her again that I wanted the acrylics removed, because my natural nails had some length now and I wanted a gel manicure on them. So she smiled and said something but I could not understand one thing she was saying. So I looked over at the lady at the register (Kathy) hoping she'd notice my confusion and she begins speaking with the nail tech in their native tongue. So Kathy tells me that it will cost $10.00 more to soak the acrylics off and I said that's fine. So my nail tech says something unintelligible to me and proceeds to take nail clippers and cuts down the acrylics to my finger tips! Three months of growth gone in 10 seconds! Shocked, I said to her, "you just removed all of my length!" Again, she just smiled and nodded and then proceeded to remove the acrylics by sliding the edge of another acrylic nail underneath mine. I asked her why she isn't soaking them off instead, and once again, something unintelligible was said. At this point I realized she did not understand my language either and I didn't know what to do. I was sitting there with my short nails and a person who had no idea what I wanted done. It took her an hour to remove the acrylics with lifting, scraping and clipping and it was not a pleasant feeling to say the least. In fact, while trying to remove one in particular, she ended up cutting into my own natural nail leaving a gaping hole! I asked her how she was going to fix it and she called Kathy over again. (She understood me that time.) Kathy told me she will put a "patch" on it. That didn't make me feel any better. I swear I was in shock at this point. She goes on to tell me my nails were very weak and she recommends that I don't get a Gel manicure, but regular polish instead. I thought to myself, no kidding after all they've just been through! So I asked her if she could apply a nail strengthener over my nails before she polishes them and she said yes. She then tells me the cost is $35.00. (I have no words.) She walks me over to pick a color and shows me the better polish for $5.00 more, which she already decided to charged me for. I reminded her about putting the nail strengthener on first and she says I don't need it now. (WTH?) Kathy comes over to me and gives me a $10.00 off coupon for my next gel manicure visit. (lol, as if!) Call me crazy, but I did give her a 10% tip for her time and she didn't even thank me. I got out of there at 3:45PM. Once I got home I noticed she had taken a chuck out of my pointer finger nail as well. Never again. read more

Eh... I have had two pedicures at this location and its just mediocre, at best. The pedicure bowls only have one jet in them, which you cant even feel unless you place your feet right on top of it. The only reason I returned for the second time was because I had a 25% off coupon. My polish chipped after 48hrs. For the same price, I can get a much better pedicure elsewhere. read more

I have been to Floris many, many times but this is the first time I was moved to write a bad review. It has been getting progressively worse. This time took the cake. Their gel manicure did not even last a day. Almost every nail is starting to lift and several are chipped. The woman next to me while I was there was complaining about the same thing. They basically told her it was her fault. I pay much less at a dumply nail salon in the city and my gel manicure lasts more than two weeks. On to the horrible service I received. The technician Ben was literally forcing colors on me to rush me while I was choosing a nail color. He was visibly angered that I was taking my time to pick. Then when I asked him to round a few corners while filing, he actually huffed and puffed out loud. Even the other customers were uncomfortable. It was the most terrible customer service I have ever received. When he was finished there was a black spot on one nail. I asked him about it and he said it was dirt that was on my nail when I came in??? On top of this when you try to use the card they give you to get signed after 10 visits, you don't actually get anything for it. I tried twice to use coupons from a home mailing and both times was told they couldn't take them. Don't be fooled by the nice decor. This place is terrible! I will NOT be going back! read more

Do not go there! They do not sterilize any of the tools they use. While at was getting my pedicure, I watched employee after employee, and also the owner, barely rinse tools in the sink and then place them in a blue pouch that would signify that the tools were sterilized. They are NOT! I even saw an employee go from one customer to another customer for a manicure using the same UNWASHED tools. I spoke to the manager after my pedicure was done and brought the sign to her that said that all of the tools were sterilized with the "Enclave" machine like hospitals use and told her that she was not following her sign. She said that she did sterilized the tools because they were in the blue pouch. She obviously did not want to hear about the unsanitary conditions in which she runs her salon. Very disgusting! I came into this salon at 530pm with my sister to get a pedicure and we were told that they were full for the evening and could not be provided service. Seemed a little bit odd seeing as how this salon claims to take walk-ins and they were not scheduled to close for another hour and a half. We said okay and left. Still feeling a bit put off by the exchange I called the salon 10 minutes later and asked if I was able to come in with a friend for the same service? The person on the phone stated that was fine, and said we could come in for our pedicures. Of course race or ethnicity aren't so easily identifiable over the phone, so it's unbelievable that via phone we were told it was no problem to come in at 6:15pm for the same exact service we were just denied. Unsurprisingly when I asked the person from the salon why we were denied patronage a moment ago when my sister and I were just in there, she had no idea what I was referring to. My normal esthetician has been sick with the flu and I am leaving on a trip to Florida, so I needed to get my legs waxed ASAP. Floris had a groupon for a full leg waxing, so I got that and scheduled the next day. The facility is pretty but that's about as far as I could say for a review. The woman who waxed my legs was nice enough, but she did not wax my full legs - in fact she didnt do anything above the bottom of my knees - stating that I had small hairs that the wax couldnt get. She never even attempted to do my knees or thighs. When you get your full legs done its ankle to hip - and she also never asked me to roll over to do the backs of my legs - instead having me contort to try and get the back of my legs. Next time I'd rather pay full price and go somewhere that they actually do what they're getting paid to do. I had to go home and shave my legs anyways. Definitely not worth it, even at a Groupon price. read more

I noticed this place visiting a store next door, I walked in and asked if it was appt only. They said they take walk in's so I stayed and thought it was a really nice place. The guy that did my nails did a very great job and even got my mom a gift card to come and visit this place. My mom and I decided to come together because I couldn't stop talking about this place. My mom got there before me so she was able to sit down and they started on her pedi. I get there 10 minutes later and was told that I didn't have an appt basically kicking me out. The pedicure they offer you is less than what you would get at any other salon and more money. Also they hardly massage. Didn't even put toe separates in when polishing. Won't be back. This salon is not your typical Asian nail salon - it is much nicer. Services are a little more expensive than other neighborhood salons, but you get what you pay for. Every time I get a pedicure at this salon, it lasts at least 3 weeks. They also offer a European pedicure, which I highly recommend. They give you a nice 10 minute leg and foot massage with the European pedicure. Even their regular pedicure offers a nice massage. When you are done with your service and you move to dry your feet or hands, a man will come around and give you a quick shoulder, back, and neck message. I always come out of Floris very relaxed and loving my treatments. I refuse to go to any other place because the high end salons charge you $50 for a pedicure, which just isn't worth it. The other Asian salons in the area might only charge you $25 for a pedicure, but then your polish is chipping off a week later. Floris has top notch services and a reasonable cost. read more

I have been a customer of Floris since 2008 and I am always happy with their services. I never think the price was too expensive. And yes, some of the staff are not fluent English speakers but I do not have problems communicating with them. P.S. They were less than happy to serve my friend and I and they totally screwed up her nails. Plus they are pricier than most other salons and only offer about 10 colors for gel manicures. Such a full service salon and spa! Because of my a Living Social Deal that I purchased, I decided to "go for it" and get a mani and pedi. Wow! Pedi included a 10 minute leg massage, which I added 10 more minutes onto when it was offered. I also added a callus treatment to my pedi. Nothing like dropping a shoe size in a matter of seconds... Mani included a 10 minute arm massage and a separate 10 minute shoulder massage during a paraffin treatment! Everyone was so sweet and you could tell that the employees really were a team. I'm STILL relaxed 4hours later. Thanks, Floris! OH! And they offered 5% off of my bill for paying in all cash. Just in case you love a deal the way that I do. read more

So I recently paid for my girlfriend and my mom to go here to treat themselves. They had an amazing time with excellent service. The staff were welcoming and did an awesome job with the work. Everything was done with exceptional detail and they were very happy. They are definitely coming back for more appointments in the future. I rarely write reviews but feel compelled to do so now. A few weeks ago I walked into Floris around 4:30. The salon was basically empty with a number of nail technicians sitting around with no customers. A woman greeted me and asked what I needed done. A said a simple manicure. She asked if I had an appointment and I replied no. She said to make an appointment for the next day because they were booked solid. I said really... looking around. She acted as if I was annoying her and repeated again that they were booked solid. In the amount of time she wasted telling me no, one of the lingering technicians could have done what would amounted to be a 10min job. Not very customer focused. I got in my car and said to myself "why was I denied service?" I hate to think the obvious but needless to say I'm going back to Happy Nails where I'm treated as a paying customer should be! read more

Do your research before stopping by! They prefer to be seen by appointments, staff seems annoyed with walk ins. I got the European pedicure ($45) which was fair, but there was nothing special about it. The only difference between a classic pedicure and the European pedicure is a longer massage for an extra $15. In my opinion, I wish I would have gotten the classic to save some money. I attempted to get a gel refill for my nails, but I had to decline due to the price. If you plan on coming to Floris Spa Nail, expect to spend your money. It is expensive! Staff seem impatient and unwelcoming the majority of my visit. Very disappointed by my overall experience, this is the last time I will get my nails done here. read more

After being treated with disgust if no appointment was made, I made one weeks in advance for pedi and mani gel. When I arrived there was a huge group in front of me. I was standing in line with my daughter and overheard a woman without an appointment want to get a pedicure with the group. They told her there was no slot. So I chimed in and said that she could have mine because I was in a hurry and would just get my gel mani. So what did they do???... Went to this place on a whim to get a gel manicure, my nail tech was interrupted so many times answering the phone and helping other customers that she could barely get through one nail without stopping. My manicure took an extremely long time and by the end the gel was marbled and see through in parts and my nails were filed so short my fingers were sore for a couple days after. When they charged me $35 for it I was even more irritated. Multiple nails chipped within the first week and all of it peeled up and came off in about 10 days. The overall experience was good. We had a 6PM appointment and didn't get in a chair until about 6:30. Pedi were gooood and everything else was good until it came time to pay. If you pay with a credit card there is no line for a tip (which we didn't know and did not have cash). Then, while our nails dried the nail tech came up to us and asked for her tip multiple times and then proceeded to say how we need to pay her tip because she had to go home. We were unprepared with no cash on us. It made us feel uncomfortable. I will not be going back. Shame too because we were planning on going back for manicures the following week and doubling up on tip since we missed our chance during out first visit. I have always enjoyed coming to this salon, as the manicures and pedicures seem consistently well done and the staff has been friendly. However, my most recent visit changed my feelings entirely. While waiting for my nails to dry, the man who offers complimentary shoulder and back massages came around and I accepted. This had been a nice touch up until now. On this particular day, the man became so inappropriate!! Five minutes in, he slipped his hand down the front of my shirt grabbing my chest, twice!!! I was horrified and so shaken up by the experience. When I told the manager, it seemed she did not understand the seriousness of the situation and simply repeated "sorry" a few times. Service of this place has gone done over the last year. There are constantly new workers who don't seem to care about the customers. I've had gel manicures chip after 24hrs and fixed for free to only chip again. Last time I went Andy was chomping on his gum and yanking my arm and fingers as if he couldn't use his voice to ask me to rotate for him. Very disappointing experience. We went 2 times, the first time we thought well maybe this wasn't a good day. I had been to the Floris in Northern NJ and the experience was pure luxury. There you are offferend 3 types of hot tea or water, They remember your name and all of the techs are very professional. I can not say the same is true for the Exton location.The first thing my tech did was toss my Fit Flops into the middle of the aisle, he then rushed through the pedi, the massage was just on my calves, I gess feet don't need massage just a swipe of lotion, .Aftter my "massage" he left my feet oily so I slipped around in my shoes. He wore latex gloves, which no one else did. I give myself pedis at least 1x per month so the issue was not my feet. The best part of our visit was the massage at the end which was done by another gentleman. That was awesome. I had to go home and re-scrub my feet, good thing I have all of the same implements they use. We will not be returning. If I'm in Guttenberg, NJ I will deinitely g back to that Floris. In the future, I'll go to any of the multitude of other competing nail salons for less money locally. read more

TERRIBLE. My friend was getting married and we came here to get our nails done the day before. There were 4 of us total. Not only did they try to sell us $95 nail sets when we said no...but then they made the BRIDE (who was paying the whole bill) sit and wait for 45 minutes with her nails half done because the employee went to work on someone else. My personal experience was also terrible. The lady kept burning my cuticles and fingers with the electric file and even made the bride bleed 5 times. Not to mention that only 4 days later my nails were chipping and falling off. How do fake nails fall off in less than a week?? They look awful a week later. Such poor quality for a highhhh price at Floris. And here is the worst part... THEY ASKED FOR TIPS!!!! The bride dropped $400 and gave everyone $20 tips. My friend and I meet in exton often to visit because it is a half way point for us. Yesterday we both decided we needed to get our nails done and we found Floris. We were happy with the service we got there. We were taken right away, we were able to sit beside each other and visit. I was excited to have a pedicure for the first time again in a few months. I had a 130 appt & had a wait time versus walk ins. I had a female technician - & she was terrible. She was inconsistent, sloppy, quick and hurried. It was the worst pedicure I had ever received. When i checked out - the technician checked me out & waited for a tip as she handed my change over. No tip I told her - it was the worst pedicure I ever had. I'm not on habit to not tip - but this was such poor service -I left furious & in a foul mood. I just wanted a lovely pedicure. I was desperate to finally get a pedicure & I went to this salon because they were open on Sunday. I should have been patient for my regular salon. I do not recommend this place. They did an awesome job on all of our nails and just treated us really well. They have all the nail polish colors you could want and I would definitely recommend going.
