We always hear great things about Florida cracker kitchen. We went there and the wait was an hour. You can look around the store or get a drink at the tap room while you wait. While the wait was hard since hot out, it was definitely worth it. You must get their cinammon roll. It was delicious. We also got the corned beef breakfast (I think the cowboy) and a burger, as well as a kids pancake meal. Once seated food is quick and service is good. Price was really good for all we got. They do take cash only but I believe they have an ATM there and they give you your change in 2 dollar bills:) will be back though hopefully In a less busy day. read more

This is a hometown favorite spot! I ordered the Cracker Cristo sandwich. Absolutely recommend! Hollandaise sauce would've only made it better, but still delicious nonetheless. This is a super cool little restaurant relatively in the middle of nowhere. The restaurant is very small and you may have to wait a little bit to get seated. However, it is definitely worth the wait. We showed up right in the middle of the lunch hour so we waited for about 10 minutes. I took the opportunity to check out the restaurant's bar next door. The bar was super cool and the bathroom had a cut out beer keg for a urinal. It made my day. Once seated the waitresses were super friendly and welcoming. The restaurant decor was totally lazy river fishing in Florida. Super cool!! I felt right at home. Definitely my type of place. I ordered the brisket sandwich and it was simply delicious. Excellent! I've never had a grit cake before and other yelpers' pictures looked like it was going to be dry. So, I was hesitant to order the shrimp and grits. However, after speaking to a local and getting a recommendation for it, I decided to go for it. Omg y'all....I thought I died. Taking a bite was like...eyes closed...dancing in your chair... mind-blowing goodness. I promise, it touched my soul. The grit cake was fried, so it was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It soaked up all that delicious tomato sauce on my plate. Absolutely heavenly. In other news... My husband ordered the corned beef hash and was just as impressed with the quality of his meal. They used real corned beef and absolutely zero canned stuff. His only complaint was that the portion was too small. The atmosphere was great, too! Lots of hot sauces and honey on the table from local vendors. Beware! It is CASH ONLY. We didn't see the sign when we walked in and no one told us. Love the name ! We were vacationing in our friends highly recommended this place so we went on a Sunday morning not knowing what to expect with the crowd we arrive there around 10 and luckily only waited five minutes and the gift shop and they called for our table and we got right in wasn't a wait at all for our food or food was delicious the waitresses were very kind highly recommend and will definitely be going again !!!! My wife and I shared the large cinnamon roll. It was a good sharable size, and the inexpensive price makes it a worthy appetizer. Think of a delicious biscuit with the outside flavor of a cinnamon roll. I had the Cracker Cristo Sandwich. It was huge -- so trust me when I say it does not need to come with sides (which it doesn't). You'll need to eat it with a fork and knife, so while technically a sandwich, it's not a handheld. The service was fantastic as well. Everyone works to serve you, not just one dedicated server. We were checked on by several people and taken care of very well. If I lived in the area, it would be hard not to visit frequently. read more

Always a good time at FCK. The bar part is wine and craft beer. You check in at the restaurant and they give you a ruler with a number. You can wait outside or in the bar part (kids are fine, during the time that the restaurant is open at least) they use a walkie talkie system to let you know when table is ready. Sangria is good both red and white. I usually find a beer I like too if I'm drinking beer. Shrimp & grits is my fave at restaurant, it's a tomato based one with 2 grit cakes...yum! Great quality food, great price. A great place to go on a Saturday morning for breakfast, or an afternoon for food and a beer. They have a very nice gift store and an exceptional tap room. This place continues to transform throughout the years. The service is very good. Only downside. In the summer months, request inside seating. Outside the flies are irritating. The owner is a marketing genius. Soon to be, if not already, featured on Diners, Drive-in's and Dives. I have returned and have reassessed my rating to upgrade from a 4 star to a 5. A small treasure out in brooksville. Don't come here if you're in a hurry you will be waiting to eat but that's ok. You can check out the store or have a seat at the bar next door or relax on the porch. Don't worry about missing your number being called either they will find you in any of these locations and are on it! I went in with a friend of our and we sat at a shared table with another couple. Again it's tiny in here! I was overwhelmed with the choices and all I saw coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled so good. I got the shrimp with tomato Gravy and grit cakes-- it is sooo good! My friend got the French toast! Also a winner! We both got a fish dip to go for later. It's also super fresh ( I know bc there were a few scales in there) and tasty! The fish dip is a tad pricey but worth it if you're a fan of great fish dip. The service is great too! I'll be back for sure on a day that I'm not in a hurry to try more things off the menu! Back here for another meal and I will not change my 5 stars. The food here is outstanding and the service is excellent. I ordered a shrimp and oyster basket combo. It is not on the menu but, if you ask they will try to accommodate any reasonable request. The oysters are lightly breaded and the shrimp lightly coated with Panko. Just came across this place on a trip it pick up a car. These guys have it down. My wife and I were visiting our Niece in Brookesville and did some searching for an interesting and reasonably priced places to eat. She discovered Florida Cracker Kitchen. After exploring their website, we were looking forward to have Lunch there. We ordered Catfish platters. The meal was OK...but what set me off is when I went to the counter to pay, they added $3.00 each to the price listed on the menu for our meals. I brought this to the cashiers attention and her reply was " the price of Catfish has gone up". I totally understand that all prices have risen given the current state of this country...but, when you list a price on your menu, I believe it should be honored. My husband and I stopped here on our way to Floral City. I had found the restaurant through Yelp, and it is one of the best breakfast places we have ever visited! There is so much attention to detail in the cooking. The onions in my omelette were carmalized (I asked our server and that is one of the special ingredients in many of their dishes), and everything was seasoned to perfection!!! My husband got biscuits and gravy, and although the portion was huge, he could not stop eating because it was so good! And if you like homemade biscuits, this is the place for you! I haven't been here since the Covid disaster but prior to that is a great place to have lunch. Very busy at lunch so wish they had later hours. Very unique foods. Generous portions.
