I've been remiss in reviewing Dade City Brew House, since it's as close to local as any breweries…read moreare going to get. It's good. Go there. Okay, fine, I'll expand on that. I don't think I've ever had a bad beer at DCBH, which is no small feat given the wide range of styles they do. I like pale ales, particularly hazy IPAs, and they've had great ones--but they also have great wheat beers, and porters, and sours. There's usually a kumquat beer on the menu. It's great, too. Really. The interior is spacious and well-lit, and on days that the weather permits, the roll-up doors to the patio and sometimes to 7th Avenue are open. It's a great place to hang around with a beer and write, and probably a great place to hang around with a beer and actually be social, if you're the type who does that. The service is always friendly, fast, and generally above and beyond. Worth special note: DCBH has always had a restaurant counter that's a separate business, and they've on (I think) their third one, Uncle Fatty's. They're really solid, delivering not only pub staples but sometimes surprising specials; it's some of the best food I've had at any brewery. They need to be open later on Thursdays. So: it's good. Go there.

Stopped in to Dade City Brew House for a few refreshing beers. I had their Your Da Wurst Märzen and…read moreA Penchant for the Dramatic Hefeweizen. Both were crisp and refreshing and could stand up to some of the best versions of these styles I've had. They really hit the spot on a thirsty afternoon. The service was great and they were busy on a Thursday night with music and trivia.

Hate to say it, but we won't be back. We used to love this place years ago, so we decided to come…read moreby since it's been about a year or so since we've visited. We used to be greeted when we walked in, this time the bartender just stood around. Didn't even acknowledge us when we walked in. So we then awkwardly made our way to a table thinking maybe she'll walk over. After watching her walk outside and smoke her vape multiple times (using two vapes at once) - I went up to the bar to get our orders. I made my order and made to deliveries of my order to our table myself. Figured, okay, maybe she doesn't do tables at all. Turns out, she was down to help her friends drinking outside tho. Seemed very uninviting. Lastly, I noticed this place finally had in house food. So we scanned the menu and ordered. There was only one person at the bar and one other table at the brewery. We figured, since it said "Table Number 5" they bring out the food order (like Dade City Brewing). Nope, the guy just yelled across the brewery for me to come over. Which, whatever that's fine. However, I ordered a pizza from the place in the brewery. It was the most unappealing and disgusting pizza I've ever had in my life. It was clearly a low-end store bought frozen pizza that was burnt and hard as a rock. Tasted absolutely disgusting and wasn't even cooked evenly. This was worse than gas station pizza. We only ate one slice and threw the pizza away. Absolutely nasty and such a waste of money. Again, we definitely won't be back. From service, or general professionalism from the bartender to completely awful pizza - the overall experience was 0 out of 10. Sad to see since the brewery used to be great.

Crooked Can Brewing Company - High Stepper American IPA is crisp, effervescent, and a little danky.

Absolutely Stellar Spot for Craft Beer Lovers! If you're in…read moreWinter Garden, do yourself a favor and head straight to Crooked Can Brewing Company inside Plant Street Market. This place is a true gem in downtown Winter Garden--vibrant, welcoming, and pouring some of the tastiest brews around. From the moment you walk in, the energy is perfect: lively yet laid-back, with that cool industrial-chic vibe mixed with the buzz of the market. I tried several of their in-house beers, and every single one was outstanding. Bold flavors, perfectly balanced, and clearly crafted with passion--whether you're into crisp lagers, hoppy IPAs, refreshing hefeweizens, or something seasonal and creative, they've got you covered. The limited editions and specials are especially fun to explore. What really made the visit shine was the friendly and incredibly helpful staff. They knew their beers inside and out, offered great recommendations based on what I like, and were happy to let me sample a few options without any pressure. No pretentious beer-snob vibes here--just genuine enthusiasm and top-notch service that made us feel right at home. Bonus points for the setup: tons of food options right there in the market (perfect for pairing), outdoor seating, and a great atmosphere for hanging out with friends or people-watching in charming downtown Winter Garden. Crooked Can has quickly become one of my favorite craft breweries in the Orlando area. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this spot delivers on every level. Highly, highly recommend--I'll definitely be back soon to try whatever new batch they're pouring! Pro tip: Grab a flight and explore. You won't regret it.

They offer indoor and outdoor seating and you can walk around the market with your drink. We had reservations to eat down the hall and I wanted a cider to take with me. They had a wonderfully, delicious pineapple cider on tap that day. I usually don't like pineapple drinks because they are too sweet, but this one was spot on. One of the best ciders I've had. They also gave me a sample to try, since I wasn't sure if I'd like it or not. They offer 8 and 16 ounce versions. I went with the larger one and enjoyed how crisp and refreshingly cold it was. I'll definitely try some more of their drinks next time I'm at the market. Highly recommend.

BSBC is too cool for Brooksville! The couple behind this new brewery is really amazing. John was…read morepreviously with Marker 48 and has a knack for unusual/unique flavors and Tanya has been an artsy community builder everywhere she goes. She pushed for Largo to promote the arts and got murals going down there and up in Brooksville she put together the outdoor markets in the BSBC parking lot before they officially opened. I remember seeing them at a few different markets vending cool woodworking pieces (oftentimes from reclaimed materials) and networking with everyone. Basically I'm letting anyone who hasn't met either of them know the following - they're committed to their community and their craft and I'm stoked to see this spot finally open. I've been following their progress for what feels like an eternity and went to their soft opening weekend. Opening day was insane! There was a line into the parking lot to make drink orders. There were samples passed around during the wait to make up for it, but really I didn't see anyone complaining. They had a good selection of beers, some canned sodas, CBD drinks, and small batch iced teas. There were sausage samples from a local butcher being passed around inside too. They arranged to have a few different food trucks outside (big ups to both the guy running Mo Rock'n Mediterranean and the family with the Spice Corner) and some live music inside. As busy as it was, I was still able to find a seat to hang out for a bit. The front corner has an old school N64 to play, I spotted board games on a shelf, there's beautiful art and architectural details, a merch corner, outdoor patio seating... You can see all the love that went into this place. Also, everyone manning the bar and bussing empty glasses was so nice! I hope BSBC becomes THE hotspot for Brooksville and inspires others to bring equally thoughtful small businesses to the area.
