This place is really good... people are complaining about it being overpriced but I don't think it is. I ordered the shrimp tacos and for $18 I got three pretty big tacos, rice, and beans. Service was great from the minute we walked in & as I look around I see them constantly walking up to the tables to make sure they don't need anything. I'm picky when it comes to Mexican food because it's so watered down now that it's hard to find a good spot. I recommend coming here. Music is a plus too! read more

Really nice art inside. Order a wet burrito and a torta. Me and my husband liked the food. I was surprised to see Thia Tea in the menu. It was good (on the sweeter side). We placed a reservation which didn't seem to matter since they weren't expecting us. To place a reservation you have to pay $50 however they'll credit it back to you on your bill (that's if you remind them, if you don't you'll lose it). Our first visit was pleasant but yesterday's visit, not so much. The waitress didn't offer the best experience or made us feel welcome. We placed food orders for: Queso fundido California Fries Ceviche Shrimp cocktail Oysters Torre Buchona Shrimp Michelada Torre Buchona had no flavor and the Shrimp was tough. The Oysters didn't taste great in fact, I ended up getting sick and vomiting throughout the night. The Shrimp on the Michelada, and cocktail tough and flavorless as well. The Michelada was warm. For the cost of these menu items, I've imagined it was going to be packed with flavors. California Fries was delicious. I'd stay away from the seafood and stick to items which you are less likely to get sick. After we paid our $230+ bill, we were stopped by security and asked us to show proof of purchase. Apparently they had tons of customers walking out without paying but that's not our problem. We didn't like the approach but didn't cause a scene. A waiter informed security we had already paid and then we were allowed to leave. The waitress should've told us to keep the receipt and show it to security, it could've made things easier. If you reserve, make sure you check your bill to ensure they credit you the $50 (they won't put it on the bill automatically as they should). read more

This place is amaaaaaaaazing... breakfast, lunch, or dinner, they got you covered with delicious Mexican cuisine. My favorite comfort food from there would be their soups.. Albondigas is the best in Southbay. Seriously. So freaking good. Order for pickup is also pretty quick and I see they've joined doordash too, so you can get your fix in the comfort of your home! We had this for lunch this past Monday since we had only half the crew at work the manager decided to buy us lunch so we all agreed to this place so we had the take out i had the cheese enchilada and chicken taco which was combo #1 you also got rice and beans and salad or soup and of course chips and salsa. She then says, " yes but if the cook gives you a lot of food I have to charge you more." WHAT?!! You have a set price and you stick to it & this isn't a meat market.. Y'all shouldn't be weighing it and changing the price without telling me. I was very confused. I immediately told her I just want a small side and to give me the correct price. So 1) they decide how much you are going to pay & 2) they are very expensive in my opinion. $8 for a small bowl of Albondigas. (It was very tiny.. Two small meatballs). I didn't end up ordering that. But for my very small side of rice and beans.. Was $10. Very tiny. I believed them to be very overpriced and definitely taking whatever they can get out of you. But hey. All in all, pretty dang solid Mexican food. Quite comparable with Los Compadres in Long Beach. Great fajitas, burritos, tacos, etc. The price is quite comparable with your standard sit-down Mexican restaurant in the Long Beach area. No issues associated with cleanliness. Very fast service and friendly waitresses. Beer is cold, chips are good, salsa is good. Bonus: Mariachis play for about 2 hours on Thursday nights and Sunday afternoons. They are great. Nothing better than sipping on a Corona listening to the Mariachis. Not many places left in the Long Beach/Carson area where you can hear Mariachis. Once again: Viva Mexico!! read more

My sweetheart and I were looking for a better option in breakfast then the basic pancake restaurant food chains out there. Girlfriend pointed out this place and it was empty, place needed a nice clean up from the previous nights karaoke session. Floor wasn't all that clean. Anyhow, our server was attentive and was fast, she was the only person for all the restaurant. Crazy, but she made it work. Had the chili verde with huevos (eggs) which also came with your choice of tortilla with rice and beans. Beans were decent, the rice was a bit dry but did the trick. I had eaten here once previously years back, and seeing it was the same place, I was prepared to be underwhelmed, but I figured I would trust the Yelp reviews. Actually, it was pretty good. I had a burrito, and the portions was large and the beef was very well flavored. I don't know what they use for marinade, but it packed a lot of flavor. It was not the tenderest of beef, and it was a little overcooked for my taste, but I liked it. It came with a little salad, which was OK, and some chips, which were nice a fresh. After this trip, I would actually be OK, heading back there to eat, something I would not have done previously. read more

Flores Cafe really surprised me by how good the food is and how nice the servers are. My wife works nearby and we met for lunch. The place is clean, they have a large menu, and they serve you very large platters. My wife ordered a shrimp quesadilla and I ordered a chile relleno. My plate came with 2 rellenos. They were delicious with a generous serving of rice and beans. My wife's quesadilla was huge with lots of fresh shrimp. I know that their main business is the lunch crowd but I would also recommend this place for dinner if you are nearby. The restaurant has a charm of its own and I liked their Spanish decor. Tried calling a phone order in for breakfast when the place opened. No answer for the first 45 mins of trying to place this large order. Then when final got a hold of someone the lady (come to find out it was the owner) was very impatient. I was ordering for 7 people, by the time i was too the 5th order she stated are you almost done yet? Very rude. When picking up the order she treated me as if I was bothering her with my presence. This is a horrible way to treat your customers. two of my breakfast burritos had holes in the tortilla so you couldn't even pick it up. What a shame that the owner has let this place go down hill. Don't let its looks fool you, this restaurant is one of a kind. The food is always amazing no matter what you order and the Karaoke is serious, deadly serious. And if you end up in this place on a friday or saturday night for Karaoke, hold on to your cowboy hats and boots and bust out the hot mamacitas because everyone is having a blast at the corner bar or singing on the stage.
