I went to Muse Karaoke on Saturday with my sister shortly after opening (around 6:40 PM). We planned to stay for two hours and brought our own food and drinks, which we clearly communicated upfront. When I first walked in, I asked about the happy hour special, which was 50% off from 6 PM to 8 PM and the owner told me there was no happy hour special. No problem. He then began processing my transaction, asking for my ID. Shortly, people walked in behind me. Then he said he couldn't complete the payment without my sister's ID. She was just outside the door in the car, so I stepped out to grab her. I parked right out front and was only gone for a moment. But that didn't matter. He used my open transaction to completely process a group that had walked in behind me--even though said it 3 times that they were waiting on an additional person. It took about 3 minutes to finish their transaction. My sister and I stood there and watched as he processed what should've been our transaction. After that, he handled a separate water purchase, then walked off. At no point did he communicate to us what was happening or where he was going. And when my sister attempted to hand him her ID before he walked away, he put his hand in her face and told her to wait. The interaction was abrupt and disrespectful. Despite being the first customers in the building and already mid-transaction, we were the last to be fully helped. Once it became clear that we were uncomfortable, his demeanor noticeably shifted and became kinder. He then mentioned that the happy hour special had ended earlier this year--as if pricing had been the issue. It wasn't. The issue was the interruption of our transaction, lack of communication, and disregard for basic courtesy. Once in the small room, we did enjoy ourselves. He showed us how to use the equipment and how to connect our phones for songs not listed, which we appreciated. At 7:40 PM, he let us know we had an hour left, which we agreed to. We finished our final song at 8:39 PM. Afterward, I quickly stepped out to use the restroom and returned less than a minute later to find him standing inside the room, hovering over my sister and rushing her to clean and pack up. Given the earlier interactions, the hovering made me anxious and was simply unnecessary. When I asked him to give us space to clean, he said he needed to clean because people were waiting. As we were leaving, we saw two groups waiting. We had rented a small room that accommodates only four people maximum, so no one waiting would have been placed in our room immediately. The urgency felt excessive. I love karaoke, and my sister and I still had a good time together--but that was because of each other, not the service. Very rude, do not come if you have only 2 people in your group, apparently they only care to service you if you have 4 or more, despite advertising room prices for 2-4. I called ahead and tried to reserve a room for 2 ppl for 2 hours. The room prices are the same per hour for 2-4 people. I was told they could not make a reservation for 2 people, it was first come, first served. When we got here they were all booked up and when I told him for 2 people, he seemed like he didn't really want to help us but eventually told us to come back in an hour. I overheard the group of 4 behind us say they made a reservation and I asked one of the girls and she said yes she called ahead and they allowed her to reserve. Again, the price is the same for 2 people as it is for 4 people, and it's BYOB so it's not as if they make more money off 4 people than they do 2 people. Very weird and very rude, the attendant even shushed me at one point when I was asking him a question at the desk. We had a reservation at 8:30pm. My friend booked the reservation and she was running a bit late so she called the place to inform them she would be a bit late. The guy who answered the phone, who I believe was the owner, seemed annoyed by it, but nonetheless at least we informed him. I was surprised at how big the rooms were. They have a big book with a big list of songs to choose from. I am not sure when was the last time they updated the song list but I know it's a bit outdated for a couple of years. The good thing is that the owner has aux cables to use if you would like to plug in your phones and play karaoke from your phone. The owner will teach you how to use the stuff in the room. When he was explaining how to use the equipment, he would grab the items aggressively from us and had an attitude. When our time was up, he was rushing us to get out the room. We understood that our time was up, but he didn't even give us a chance to gather our belongings. You have to pay first and can not add any hours to your session once paid for. I had a freaking blast. This was my first time and we came here by chance. The manager took the time to explain the controller for us and made sure we understood it, which i super appreciated. Huge selection of songs but if there isn't anything you like you can connect your phone to the TV. They didn't sell alcohol here but you can bring your own for a small surcharge. I like this place a lot. Specifically because it's a *dedicated* karaoke place and not attached to an arcade or something. We always find ourselves coming here after dinner + bowling + bar/brewery, then ending the night at karaoke to relax. Located in a large plaza with other businesses like a PC lounge, BCD Tofu, Del Taco and Arby's, this is as good as it can get for an optimal night. For a large group (more than 6), I think it's only like $10 a person. $1 extra if you bring your own alcohol - which is REALLY COOL because that means you're saving so much money from not buying alcohol for an insane upcharge. There's no decent bar nearby but this works well. The machines are a bit "old school" from what my Korean friends tell me. But the cool thing is that it works in both Korean and English. There's quite a few rooms but you should definitely call on a weekend to see if there's an empty room. Otherwise, ask them to put your name on the list. They're open very late, have clean bathrooms, and some refreshments. The rooms don't have "true" sound isolation so you might hear some rooms as you walk through the hall to get to the bathroom at the very end, but it's pretty muffled anyway. Overall I have nothing but great things to say about this place. Highly recommend it for the good vibes, easy parking, and fair pricing. read more

my friend has asthma and he had an inhaler in his pocket and the manager of this company said that he has alcohol we showed him and he still claims that we have alcohol, even though the doctor prescribed us an inhaler box we cannot leave anywhere go anywhere with the inhaler. Decided to go karaoking last minute for my birthday on a Saturday night a little bit before 7 pm. I used to go to Max Karaoke a lot when I was in high school but once it closed I went to Muse a few times, still many, many years ago. I figured I would call before we left in case no rooms were available. The person who picked up was an older man (I think the owner?) and was a bit blunt. I asked if there were any medium rooms available for a group of 7 and he said no. I asked when the next time availability would be and he said not until 9. I thanked him and was about to hang up but then he said there was a small room open but only until 9 - I told him we would take it but it would take us 15 minutes to get there. He responded, "15 minutes?! Okay, hurry up." And then he hung up. When we were on the way there he called again and asked if I was coming and I told him we were still 8 or so minutes away, again he said "Okay, hurry up." If it wasn't for the other Yelp reviews, I would've been under the impression that he was quite rude but I figured I would see how he was in person and I'm glad I was wrong because things can get lost in translation over the phone. When we got there and he was charging us for the room, he jokingly looked us all over and asked if we were over 21 (we're in our late 20s, early 30s). I saw you can also bring your own food and drinks but it's an additional $1/person which is still a great deal so we brought a few drinks and snacks. The room he took us to was actually a large room but he only charged us the medium rate so I was pleasantly surprised because the room was really spacious, although the furniture was a bit old. He told us that we can use the space to dance. The room has two karaoke mics and a book with songs; to add a song to the queue you just enter the song number into the number pad. I appreciate that they seem to update their song book because there were newer hits on there. One thing I wish they had was an easy way to stop the current song. Maybe there was but the number pad was all in Korean. Overall, I would definitely come back to karaoke here again. We tried to go to another spot first that had no open rooms so we found Muse not too far away and they had several open rooms. The guy working (owner? not sure) was not particularly friendly and seemed SUPER stressed. He seemed annoyed he had "deal with us" and come explain how to use the remote, etc. The room itself was fairly comfortable and had enough seating for about 8 people (we were just a group of 6). We got the hang of the remote and were able to scroll through songs and select them while other people were singing. Positives: spacious rooms, easy parking, not too expensive per person to rent the room (ended up being $13ish a person for 2 hours). We did overall have a good time. Negatives: definitely lacking in song choice. A number of really normal songs (like some very popular Billy Joel, Fleetwood Mac) were not on there. We noticed this a ton of times as we tried to find songs we wanted to sing. Huge selection of Korean songs but not a great English selection. Occasionally the speakers would do a loud popping thing which may have just been an issue in our room. Also, no food or drinks - I assume byob and byof but we didn't know that. The place we tried to go to originally had a bar. While we had a pretty good time, this would not be my first choice for a dedicated karaoke space if other places have food/drinks and a better song selection. read more

For 11 of us (large room) it was only $50 for two hour! (so if you choose split it it's like $4-$5 pp). The place is literally just Karaoke rooms. He sells water and soda and a few bags of chips in the front but that's all. There's no bar or restaurant inside. We love that you can bring your own food and drinks (in a cooler if needed). If you do bring food inside, he charges $1 extra per person. The place is clean and the restrooms are clean too. It's really appropriate for any age group. We would definitely recommend this place to people who are looking for a place to sing their hearts out in. He has a good selection of songs. You can also hook up your phone if there's a song that's not in the book. Prices: depends on the room you are renting. The big room which fits 12-16 people $60 an hour.
