There's few places where friends and family Can enjoy a night of singing for a fun and affordable price. Support a local family owned businesses that strives to bring you a quality time for all your friends and family. I have been coming here for a long time and can confidently say you can enjoy an experience here like no other.

I love this place! The owner is very nice and also he lets you bring your food and snacks in! We have been coming here for a few years. We love that it's locals and it's just an awesome time! They have a wide selection of music and an aux cord if you ever wanna switch it up! Price is good and rooms are good too

We had a reservation at 8:30pm. My friend booked the reservation and she was running a bit late so she called the place to inform them she would be a bit late. The guy who answered the phone, who I believe was the owner, seemed annoyed by it, but nonetheless at least we informed him. I was surprised at how big the rooms were. They have a big book with a big list of songs to choose from. I am not sure when was the last time they updated the song list but I know it's a bit outdated for a couple of years. The good thing is that the owner has aux cables to use if you would like to plug in your phones and play karaoke from your phone. The owner will teach you how to use the stuff in the room. They have a bar for those that are looking to drink. Overall, I think it's a good karaoke place if you are in the area.

I had a freaking blast. This was my first time and we came here by chance. The manager took the time to explain the controller for us and made sure we understood it, which i super appreciated. Huge selection of songs but if there isn't anything you like you can connect your phone to the TV. They didn't sell alcohol here but you can bring your own for a small surcharge. I needed a little liquid courage to get the juices flowing but once i got into it we were on cloud 9. Lol Only down part was that there were no fans in there so at the end it got a little hot. They do sell cold non-alcoholic beverages at the front.

I like this place a lot. Specifically because it's a *dedicated* karaoke place and not attached to an arcade or something. We always find ourselves coming here after dinner + bowling + bar/brewery, then ending the night at karaoke to relax. Located in a large plaza with other businesses like a PC lounge, BCD Tofu, Del Taco and Arby's, this is as good as it can get for an optimal night. For a large group (more than 6), I think it's only like $10 a person. $1 extra if you bring your own alcohol - which is REALLY COOL because that means you're saving so much money from not buying alcohol for an insane upcharge. There's no decent bar nearby but this works well. The machines are a bit "old school" from what my Korean friends tell me. But the cool thing is that it works in both Korean and English. There's quite a few rooms but you should definitely call on a weekend to see if there's an empty room. Otherwise, ask them to put your name on the list. They're open very late, have clean bathrooms, and some refreshments. The rooms don't have "true" sound isolation so you might hear some rooms as you walk through the hall to get to the bathroom at the very end, but it's pretty muffled anyway. Overall I have nothing but great things to say about this place. Highly recommend it for the good vibes, easy parking, and fair pricing.

I was a little skeptical at first since they use an older system where you select songs using a large tablet style remote instead of a modern digital interface. Also, don't expect the music videos to match your song choices. Many aren't the official versions and sometimes random clips, often K-pop, will play instead. A big plus is that our room had a fan, so it didn't feel stuffy and the temperature was comfortable the whole time. We were also able to get a room right away on a Friday at 7 pm, which was great. Some songs I wanted weren't available, like "Pocketful of Sunshine" by Natasha Bedingfield, "Stop and Stare" by OneRepublic, and "E.T." by Katy Perry, along with a few others I expected to find. There are three reasons this place more than deserves the five stars. First, the drinks. They have a plethora of the actual cocktails you would see in japan. Suzume Kohaku AND Tomino Hozan? Oolong Highballs? Half bottles of Kubota? YES PLEASE. If you used to be a regular at any bar in Shinjuku's hidden but legendary Golden Gai district, this will feel like a taste of home. Also, there's a full bar menu with Karaage, Yam salad, and Mentaiko pasta? Are you kidding me? Second, the food. Not only do they have great bar food up with the best Japanese night life spots in LA, you can ALSO order in a bowl of ramen off the EXTRA FULL MENU from the ramen restaurant next door. AND, about the ramen. Every 2 years a friend and I travel all over Japan and rank the best ramen to compare with America. Josui (the ramen shop nextdoor to Astro) is definitely up there with Kyushu Jangara, Tanaka Shoten, Sumire, and dare I say Kozo Mata Omaeka. Especially their Miso ramen. The flavor is phenomenal, the oil level is on point, the noodles are perfectly cooked, the chashu is melt in your mouth, ANNDDD it comes HoT HOT HOT because the bar and the restaurant share the same kitchen. However, one should be careful with the spice as they do use habanero peppers for their spice. It's the only downside as I love spice but me and many others are not a fan of the habanero family/flavor. Ie, if you're going for Josui Ramen, you might as well goto Astro and get a better selection, but bring your own Rayu or Shichimi Togarashi. Third. The darts. Most people think of darts at bars as these beat up corkboard darts with bent tails. And for the most part, you are correct. But If you're familiar with the world of darts, you know about the Phoenix Machines. And they have the latest ones. These are THE proper tournament level dart boards connected to an entire worldwide online community. Everyone who is serious about darts has an account on these machines. Playing solo? Log in with your ID and get connected with a player at a pool hall in Tokyo. Looking for local players? link up with someone in LA Ktown. Heading to Korea? bring your account card with you and link up to a Phoenix machine at Dart Prince in Gangnam. Also don't be surprised if the groups in the lanes to the left and right of you at Astro brought their own set of professional darts. I do not want to post this because Astro has been a locals secret for a number of years, has a strong community of Tokyo transplants (expect to hear a LOT of Japanese) and I like having a machine available on our date nights. But I have NO idea why right now it's only 4 stars so gotta give them some love. Y'all missing out. Full transparency, if it starts to get too crowded there, I'm taking this review down. See you on the boards.

The interior is neat and clean. There are various types of seating (bar; table; booth; high-tops; communal), and plenty of screens to watch sports. On this occasion, I ordered the Tavern Fish & Chips ($22). It is described as "Alaskan cod coated in a tempura beer batter and served with French fries, tartar sauce and yuzu herb coleslaw". The positives of this dish are that it was prepared well. Both the fish and chips tasted good. The presentation was also nice; which leads to the coleslaw: The coleslaw tasted good, too; but I was surprised the serving was so spare. It's almost as if it was served just to optically balance the presentation in the basket. (See photo shared,) And while the price was not unreasonable, feel it's creeping towards expensive (relative to serving size). I'll attribute this to rising input costs. Staffing might be an issue during the lunchtime service. Service was okay, but they seemed to be understaffed. It's possible that most of their business is done after 5pm.

This is a place where men can come to make small social talk, unwind and be entertained by the bar ladies who will make jokes, tell funny stories, up men's egos to create a welcoming environment. All the male guest must do is to buy the ladies a drink which for our group of 4 ran to $16 or $4/person. Maybe the ladies took pity on us since we didn't look like HUGE BALLERS. Women are welcome, but most will find it boring since this kind of business does not specifically meet the needs of heterosexual women. Ladies who come with their boyfriends or husbands may feel that the bar hostesses are trying to steal their man although that is probably not the case since it is the function of the hostesses to please their male customers. We sat & drank around the bar where the hostesses seem to hover around the most. I noticed that the guests on sofas away from the bar are left more alone to congregate with their own group. So if you want to party in with your own posse, this may be a better space. Seating at the bar is $10 cover while the sofas are $20 per person. There is Karaokè (kah rah oh keh) with Japanese and English language songs. We sang a few to while away our stay when we took a break from talking with the hotesses who circulate from time to time to different guests. Bar 104 may be of more interest to people who enjoy Japanese language, culture, "traditional hostess bar environment", or are at least open to international, cultural influences. If you can't suspend American mores, political correctness, my way or the highway approach, 104 may not be for you since 104 seems to be an enclave that follows the beat of a different drummer. I found 104 to be a fun night out with the boys. The hostesses were cordial, fun, tastefully catering to our needs at the same time exacting a reasonable fee. Shōchū/Japanese low octane "vodka", Sakè (sah keh), Beer, Wine available. Fair trade, fair exchange. 4 Yelp stars.

They were as confused and shocked as I was about the service. I don't even want to mention what I saw in owner/staff interactions, but I'ma just leave it at sad. It was just sad. I'm not a regular regular, but Southland was the spot for my friends and me when we wanted a night out together for past couple years. Now, we're back to bar-hopping for a new spot because The Alley Bar ain't it. I'd give her benefit-of-the-doubt because she just picked up the place, but benefit would imply I saw an effort in keeping old crowd loyal while inviting new life, too--yeah, no benefit here. R.I.P. Southland, thanks for all the fun.

What a fun happy place! Great bartenders and drinks, super friendly energy and vibe. I was in LA…read morefor work and ended up in Torrence for a night because my lodging farther north had an issue. I wanted a quick drink and this was the closest little bar. Lucky me for the lodging problem because I ended up having the funnest night with the nicest people ever and I can't wait to come back. Thursday karaoke night - highly recommend. LOUD and they have a decibel reader I'm coming back with friends on the Friday line dancing night.
