My wife and I decided to upgrade our flooring, and after quite a bit of due diligence and comparing estimates, we decided to use these folks. Our experience could not have been better. When you're doing a home project, you need three things to go well. You need a knowledgeable sales person to get you to the right product, at the right price, and professional installation. Each of those pieces are hit or miss for you as the customer. Our sales person was Danny Lain. Our installers were Mario and Jose. We absolutely love our new carpet! It looks and feels great. It is top grade and will give us years and years of use and enjoyment. Our costs were absolutely the lowest bid by quite a few thousand. And yes, we compared our exact carpet within all the bids to ensure everything was Apples-to-Apples. 5+ stars to Danny! Our installation was impressive to us. Mario and Jose cleaned, cleaned, and cleaned as they removed old carpet and padding and installed the new pad and carpet. All the old stuff was immediately taken out to the trailer and put away so there was absolutely no trash or mess while in progress. The installation was up against newly painted baseboards and I expected at least a few scuffs and scratches but not a single one could be found. At end of day one all the tools and equipment was very neatly and cleanly stored behind a wall unit. You get the picture; professionals keep a clean workspace. These guys were fast as well, taking only a day and a half from start to finish. The carpet lay itself was impressive as well, very smooth and clean edges, very tight up to the baseboards. 5 Stars to Mario and Jose! I've been a rental property manager for decades and I must say I've never come across an attitude like this! I called about purchasing and installing a specific brand LVT that not all stores sell for an upstairs bathroom, a pretty straight-forward and simple job. Now I've never had a flooring company that refuses to do a bathroom as it would significantly limit their business, but if so that is their right and they should simply just say so. Instead Danny at this Surprise location answered and as soon as I told him it was an upstairs bathroom he started outlining these conditions that if anywhere around a toilet in flooring that has been there 15-20 years there is any moisture damage they will not simply remove and replace that area of plywood subfloor. He cited structural issues and liability and got quite belligerent about it. He said they would just "pack up and leave" if there were any moisture damage. This makes no sense because any experienced flooring installer knows that around a toilet after a long time there can be plywood (it's wood!) moisture and damage that needs to be smoothed out or cut out and replaced. Most installers carry plywood and materials to replace small sections if necessary around a toilet or shower. Plywood flooring is NOT structural in that it presents ANY RISKS to the floor below as it sits on the structural joists which support it. It is just that it is very common for areas around toilets and baths and showers to develop some moisture creep over many years and new flooring should always go down on a solid, structurally firm and smooth surface. If they are so lazy or inept that they can't deal with minor plywood replacement for a smooth surface in an area where there is bound to be a little rot, swelling or wear over the years then they are not competent installers, at least no for any wet areas and they have no business installing in bathrooms. I can imagine now much business they lose if the installers he uses panic every time they see a toilet area whose subfloor isn't perfectly solid and uncompromised around a toilet. Or worse, maybe they don't address it and simply lay the flooring right over it. Either way, that indicates serious incompetence and/or neglect. Again, I'd have had more respect if he simply said that their specific location decided not to do upper level toilets rather than starting to get blustery, loud and defensive and gaslighting me with some lame story that Arizona flooring installers aren't licensed to touch the plywood or deal with subfloor issues when installing. In short, do NOT deal with Floor Source (Surprise location at least) if you have any bathroom flooring needs. If this is how they treat potential new customers (I also have a big house in their area with lots of future projects planned which now I will never consider them for) then save your money, time and property and go with one of the dozens of other installers and flooring sales outlets who are confident enough that their installers can handle some unforeseen but common subfloor issues and adjustments when laying new flooring. read more

I recently had 770 square feet of tile replaced by Flooring Source. While the in-store tile selection experience was smooth and painless, the installation process was a completely different story. I was originally told that the tear-out and installation would take a maximum of four days. Based on that, I scheduled installation to begin on a Monday, expecting everything to be done by Thursday--or Friday at the latest in case of demo issues. However, I received a call the Friday before asking if they could start the next day. This unexpected change forced me to scramble to adjust hotel reservations at the last minute. The crew completed the demo on Day 1 and came back briefly on Day 2 (for only a couple of hours) to finish demo and prep. Then on Monday, the installers assured me everything would be done in just a couple of days. In reality, it took five full days to complete the install because staff were pulled to another emergency job. There were also several serious issues during the install: They reinstalled my washer without turning the water back on or reconnecting the drain hose. I had to fix it myself and clean up the resulting water mess--thankfully I caught it before major damage occurred. My dishwasher was not secured back in place, and it tipped forward when I opened it. Fortunately, the crew was still on-site and able to correct it. Their tools stained my bedroom carpet. Because of the delays and mishandling, I had to spend additional money on hotels, meals, and cleaning. The lack of professionalism and poor communication throughout the process left me extremely disappointed. I would not recommend Flooring Source for installation services. The product selection is great, but the install experience cost me time, money, and unnecessary stress. read more

Poor customer service. We went into the Surprise store for a piece of Sun Stone transition stripping. No one was in the store, so not busy! Gentleman told us that he would have to order it from Sun Stone's warehouse and then we would have to go to Phoenix to pick it up. He then proceeded to tell us rather than him order it, we could just save time and go directly to the warehouse and purchase. Thankfully we called first, as it was a 40 minute drive, and found out the warehouse is wholesale only and couldn't sell anything directly to us. We found another business that carries this product and ordered it from them. they also had someone bring it to their business, so we didn't have to pick it up from the warehouse. Definitely will not do business here. read more

Still 5 stars for product and professionalism. A gentleman came out to measure and quote tile installation or travertine in our family room. Travertine install price was the norm except their quote didn't include honing or polishing like other companies so that was a no go. The tile that looks like wood installation alone was more than other quotes including product so we passed. Still a good resource though. read more
