I've never dealt with a more unorganized business in my life. After making an appointment with the design team I showed up for my appointment to find out they never actually scheduled it for me. But gave me a card saying they did. I picked out my tile and paid for it. They said it would be ready at the loading dock in an hour. An hour later we showed up at the loading dock to find out they were not aware that we were picking it up that day. We waited about 20 more minutes for them to gather our tile to find out they had less than half the tile we needed. We found this out AFTER WE PAID FOR IT ALL and after they told us we would be getting it all that day. When I showed up later that day to figure it all out, they told us it would be 7-10 business days to get this tile. Today is the 10th business day and it is still not here. I still hadn't heard from them so I called them to find out it had just shipped today. They weren't going to even call me to inform me of this. Still no idea if or when I will be getting the tile. No one communicates to each other within the company nor do they communicate with customers. Highly recommend avoiding this place at all costs. read more

I have multiple rental properties and am always in need of doing repairs or upgrades. A friend said to check out Floor & Decor, in which I did a couple days ago. This particular project I needed flooring for the bathrooms as well as backsplash. Immediately upon entering the store I was greeted by a young lady named Normajean. She informed me she was new to the company and still in training. I figured we could learn together. This girl really knew her stuff and I would never have known she was new. She is in the Deco department but stayed with me throughout other departments that where not hers. We found the perfect flooring as well as a beautiful backsplash, if she didn't know an answer she found someone who did. I have been to many stores and never received the service I did with Normajean at Floor & Decor. She made me feel welcome and confident in shopping. I got pictures of what I needed and I will be back in with my husband next week to purchase, and will be using this company for ALL my rental needs going forward. I live in California, but own homes here in Northern Nevada and California. They have locations all over and I am able to pick up items at other locations as well. I cannot applaud the company enough for really carefully picking who they hire. Normajean showed true dedication and care in her roll as an employee. Four people to recognize from my multiple trips..Gene spent a considerable amount of time with my wife and I and was VERY patient with us, gave great choices and made a fairly mundane (process for me) enjoyable. Ashlee (at the pro desk and cannot find the biz card she gave me, ee badge said "Lee") was a tremendous help explaining different options of sealants, helped me determine exactly how much of each material I need to purchase. When I asked her what the difference is between HD, Lowe's and F&D, without hesitation, "Customer Service is the most important difference", second, we price shop and our price and selection are both better..she was very very helpful. Shopping again at Floor and Decor. Not such a great experience this time. In fact I would call it a huge disappointment. Made a purchase and was told to return in an hour. After coming back and waiting for another 20 minutes at the delivery dock I was told there was no product in the store and I would be called in a few weeks. I went into the store to understand why they would tell me they had the product but merely had to pull it from the shelf when the warehouse guy said there was no product and "Ashley was confused." After discussing the problem with one of the leaders they found the product right where Ashley said it was. They promptly corrected the problem. I get it "S" happens but to have an employee either not care enough to check the stock or outright lie to a customer is unprofessional and unfortunate. Good thing this is the last product I need to finish off my project. I'll get my stone, tile and flooring product elsewhere from now on. read more

Late on Sunday designer Fabian jumped into our craziness and patiently and expertly guided us through some major decisions. The next morning we had questions. Stopped by this store for a big flooring job and received no offer whatsoever for help, guess the employees conversations between each other were more important then offering any sort of customer service. I even smiled and said hi to an associate walking by and no response at all.. leaving the store not a word at all from the cashiers. How important is service after the sale??? Apparently to this location it's not all. I'm surprised by their lack of attention, poor customer service, and sub par communication skills. After buying new countertops we were called the following day and told that they weren't actually in stock. What company in 2015 doesn't have a real time inventory system? We were blamed by the manager because the check out clerk said we didn't work with a sales associate. That wasn't a huge deal but then we were told they could be stock transferred from the Rocklin store, and we had to pick up the nearly $200 shipping cost. Ya, no thanks. They refused to return calls regarding a refund and the management seams to just not care. After a week they finally called back and said our countertops had arrived, which we had never ordered. When we went to the store to get the refund the manager refused to show her face and the clerks were left to figure out the whole mess while we stood there. I've already advised many of my friends and family not to shop here. If you're looking for butcher block countertop lumber liquidators has better prices for a higher quality product. read more

We have shopped at Floor & Décor, and also recommended to family and friends. Sometimes you get a sales associate to help you, and sometimes you don't. However, the other day, I rushed in to purchase 12 more boxes of flooring for our project. I was met by Shaun who was sent to Reno to "help with customer service." He was quick, helpful, friendly, and loaded all the flooring in the store for me, took it to my car, and I was outta there in 20 minutes! Way to go Shaun! I highly recommend Floor & Decor. The service at this store is terrific! I called on a Saturday looking for a very specific floor heating system. I was told they had it in stock and plenty of it. I drove an hour for this product and by the time I got there they had sold most of what I needed. It was highly unusual. What could have been a huge problem was simply a challenge. Ian and the store manager went above and beyond in helping us get what we needed (by parting out a system) so that we could continue working on our floor. I have had great luck with this place. The service was fantastic and the sales associate who helped me was very knowledgeable and friendly. I have been in here quite a few times because I can't seem to make up my mind and every time I am in here I get greeted right away and asked if I need assistance. Their return policy is fair also. I had a large purchase that I changed my mind on and they were quick to refund the purchase back to my card with no questions asked. Just make sure everything is unopened. Good place to window shop, but I was not impressed with their customer service at all! I spent a good 30 minutes wandering their isles and not a single associate even bothered to say hello. Their flier by the design desk recommending local installers is also outdated by over 2 years! Update 6/20/15. We are finishing up on a couple of bathroom remodels. I have to say, the staff is on it with the help. They were able to give me ideas of how to do tile work and what I would need. They explained the reasons for mortar color and the advantages/disadvantages of tile spacing, among other things. The prices and choices of tile, were fantastic. We had never taken on tile before and learned quite a bit in the process. The manager was even a huge help, coming over to help load tile on to our cart and even making sure I had the right material for building my shower pan. Overall, this store is top notch. When we started making plans for replacing our kitchen floor we asked our son and daughter-in-law who had done a stunning, extensive remodel of their kitchen and bath where they found their supplies. Without hesitation they said they got the majority of it at Floor & Decor in Reno. They said hands down that they had the best sellection and prices of any of the places they went to, including a few of the 'big box' stores. We decided to take the drive to check it out in hopes we'd find something that would work and also fit comfortably in our budget. On our first trip we met an associate named Conan who took the time to show us all of the choices within our budget. Not being able to decide on the spot, we took home several samples at a time to see how well they worked until we found the just the one we wanted. Once we made our decision, he even helped us find the coordinating trim pieces and we were set to go. A wonderful young lady associate helped load all 19+ boxes in our van! {Sorry, I didn't catch her name.} We began the installation process and found we were in need of a few more transition strips. so we returned to the store. This is when we met Mike Stipech who is the wood department manager. He asked what flooring we had installed and then saw that the strips we were using. He said although they matched by color, had we noticed that there was a gap between the strip and the floor. We told him although we did notice the slight gap between the floor and trim, we just figured that was how it was supposed to be. He then told us they really weren't the correct ones for the actual thickness of our laminate planks and was sure there was a better solution. He went online, researched and found the correct ones and said they were available by special order. Mike proceeded to not only order the ones we needed, but was able to give us credit for the wrong ones. We thought our floor looked great before, but were really pleased to see what a difference the correct ones made! Thanks to him, our kitchen, dining, and laundry rooms all look fantastic! Having such a positive experience with the kitchen floor, we returned to the store for our next project. This time we needed info on floor tiles for our family room. Again we turned to Mike for help and even though this was not his department, we were glad to hear he was so willing to help us. After asking a few questions as to what look we were going for and price range, he showed us several rows of choices and even carried samples from one row to the next for us to compare colors and textures side by side. Once we found exactly the ones we wanted, he took us to find the all of the adhesive materials and tools we'd need to complete the job. He even explained the correct way to apply the adhesive and all about the wait time for them to set properly. I guess seeing as how my husband and I are senior citizens, he insisted on helping load all of that in our van after we checked out. To any folks out there reading this or any the of the other reviews posted, please note that although there seem to have been a customer or two that seemed to have had a less than ideal experiences at this store, I'm sorry to hear that. Based on our experience, I can't imagine that happening. Every single person that works at this store, whether it was the young ladies at the checkout stands, or any of the guys walking around, we have found them all to be very polite, professional and very helpful! When we needed help or had questions finding what we were looking for, all we had to do was ask and if that person didn't know the answer, they found the person that did! We have done a lot of business at the two most popular 'big box' stores and occasionally could find someone to help, but many other times not. That's going to happen, especially when dealing with the bigger stores. We whole hearted recommend that you take the time to check it out this Floor and Decor for yourself.
