The main couch and loveseat they have at their vacation condo is from Bassett and has not had any issues for the last 15 years.

They have been frustrated because the vast majority of living / family room furniture is all about being aesthetically pleasing. Most of it is built to look good but not necessarily feel good or be comfortable. As senior citizens they use living / family room furniture more than I ever did in all of the living rooms in all of the houses I have owned over the years. We sat down with Katie who was patient, well informed, and friendly. We also had a chance to talk with Natalia and meet James in the delivery department. Katie was able to find some comfortable looking, well made pieces at reasonable prices that were in the thousands and not tens of thousands of dollars. Their shipping and delivery is probably the best feature of their practice as it is a personal experience that is handled with care. It seems like their typical clients are probably more skewed to the tens of thousands of dollar orders, it was nice to see them give the same service and attention. We hope the best for Paloma as they embody what a family owned local business should be. Especially as the national furniture mass merchandisers keep polluting our area with less service, less quality, and less buy in on the local's shopping experience.

Our floors turned out great, but it was kind of a mixed bag of an experience…read more THE GOOD: The flooring selection process: Cory was friendly and helpful and I got what I needed at the show room in under 30 mins. The measure: the turnaround time between my show room visit and the in-home measure was extremely fast. Jason also sent us the quote really quickly. The installation: we got both carpet and hard flooring. Brian (hard floors) gets a 5 star. Work quality was amazing, and he meticulously cleaned up after himself every day so there wasn't a speckle of dust left behind the whole time he was here. He got the work done faster than anticipated and instead of cutting out early every day, he just kept going. Steve (carpet) was also great. He found a defect in our carpet and could've taken the easy route and installed it without saying anything, but he made sure we knew about it and had a say in the matter. Once the new carpet arrived, he got the work done really quickly. THE NOT-SO-GOOD: The scheduling: we were scheduled for demolition the day after thanksgiving but had a no-call no-show. We couldn't get that resolved for a few days because they were closed longer than usual due to the holiday. It would've helped if someone called to confirm the appointment before everyone went out of office. No explanation was given, so no idea what happened. The demolition: Jason rescheduled the demo asap, but the crew didn't vacuum or do any meaningful cleanup. In fact, the installers were surprised at the mess they left behind. Also, we were supposed to paint our floors with Kilz in between the demo and installation but the demo guys already put down carpet tacks, so we had to spend time removing those ourselves so that we can paint. There were lots of loose nails and debris on the floor from the demo so it was not an easy job. The lack of attention to details caused some non-value-add work for everyone. The flooring: it doesn't seem like Full Circle does a QA check on their materials before sending it out to the work site. We were surprised that no one caught the defect in our carpet until Steve was about to install it. This caused a delay in our timeline, which is a pretty big inconvenience when you have to temporarily vacate your home to accommodate the demo/installation. We had other contractors lined up, which also had to be rescheduled. Also, the spare nosing they ordered for Brian was broken. Thankfully, he was meticulous enough that he didn't need them, but there was no margin for error. Imagine the added delay if that wasn't the case... In the end, our floors did end up looking really great so Full Circle gets a 4 star. The hassle we experienced might cause us to consider other contractors in the future, though.

Over last fall I started to get estimates for a Re-model of my master closet. The first one was…read morefrom a gal that lived in Nevada City that I found on Instagram that I had to pay at $200 fee just for a consultation/ estimate. I asked her if she might think of doing just the half of the closet that was ugly and cheap. A builder friend of mine told me it's one of those " closet kits" that you buy from those home improvement stores. It was just hideous and stuck out like 12" to far into the closet itself, you will see in the photos below. Anyhow the first girl's estimate was 12 grand. I had sticker shock! We have so many projects around this house because it's 30+ years old. I definitely like the fact that our house has the charm that these new housing tracts just don't have. We have a ton of mature trees and a big property. I just didn't feel like spending that much on the closet... The second estimate was from the other big name closet place in Reno. He was very nice but he wouldn't even consider doing a partial and shut me down straight away. One side of the closet is double hanging only with a large shelf at the top so you really don't see much of the wood to be fair. Frankly I was a bit put-off at his indignity as me even asking for two estimates. His estimate came in around 10 grand. Um No! My neighbor was over for a dinner party and had mentioned that she had a good friend that does this. I called Jean Anne and made a appointment for her to come over and give me a third estimate. She was a living doll and accepted the idea of just doing the right hand side only. We went into her shop and looked at different woods, hampers, hardware, etc. we decided to go with the least expensive white finish ( glorified particle board) . We decided on getting a pretty panels for the front of the drawer area since there will only be 8 drawers it was well worth the extra amount. The hamper feature was $300 and very small so we passed on that since we already have hampers we like. The estimate was 4 grand! Now we are talking! Today was the long awaited day. It took extra time since the drawer fronts had to be custom made. Sergio and Jose showed up 15 minutes early so that was a good sign. Then the trouble started... Sergio ripped out 2 sections that were supposed to stay...One of the shelves were for my beloved shoe section that I keep all my pricey ones in their boxes and the other is where I keep all my Juicy tracksuits and my American Giant cold weather matching sets. BTW: American Giant is the Best for cold weather, I literally have not found any other clothing that is as warm for those super cold days. Then they realized that they were missing two panel fronts for the top two drawers :( The next appointment is on 7/7 to finish so I now have to live with that cyclone of a mess for 3 more weeks... Also the 7th is our wedding anniversary and our big 4th party we have every year. Now I have to live with the mess for much longer but these things do happen. My biggest fault is I can be too nice! Truly! I was very nice to this Jean Anne. So much when we realized "her best guy" Sergio made the mistake she said something like; "Oh we will fix it at cost"... Ummmm whose mistake was this?? Mine? Sergio (the best guy)? She should have been over here in the a.m. to go over it with him. It wasn't my job to make sure he had the details right! This was a very stressful situation overall. And as the saying goes; "you get what you pay for" In the end we are very happy with how the closet looks. It was a great idea to put the attractive closet fronts on the drawers it looks so much nicer!

Both times we went here the place was closed with a sign on the door that said "Will return in xx…read moreminutes" or will return by x:xx time. The first time we waited for 10 mins past the time he was supposed to return because we drove all the way across town to go here. Once he arrived he was rude and not at all helpful, so we left without making a purchase. The second time we went we were hoping someone else was working so we didn't have to deal with him again since we were going to make a purchase. He was late again, we were so frustrated the second time around we left 10 mins past the time he said he was to return. Not sure we should give them a third chance...but they did have decent prices.
