He started by having us lay on a medium firmness mattress with a couple of pillows (including sanitary towels, nice touch). As we tested the first bed he asked us various questions about our sleep styles, allergies, temperatures, and price point. He was reasonable and not pushy about our wants and needs (ie. Not too sales-y). He shared a lot of neat information about current mattress technology which opened my eyes to a whole slew of information I had never even considered. After the first tester, he directed us to a lovely Serta which ended up being our favorite (in store). He provided information about shipping/delivery and even printed up a quote to "lock in" the price. We were not ready to pull the trigger that day, and about a week later he reached out to my husband to let him know the mattress was still available in the warehouse and could arrive within our time frame. Bob was a helpful guide on our mattress journey. Even though we did not purchase a mattress from Mattress Firm, I would consider this a first stop on a future mattress purchase simply because of the insightful and low-pressure customer service.

We are both architects and simple and classic is our vibe, so after checking out the more traditional furniture stores in Reno, we headed over to Scandanavian Designs to find our people. We could not be more grateful that we connected with Hannah on our first visit. The sales people are so helpful at Scandanavian Designs; they have a ton of knowledge with no pressure. We have been back at least a half-dozen times, sometimes to buy and sometimes just looking. Always greeted with the same smiles and welcome. To date we have purchased a complete living room (2 sofas, coffee table, end tables, storage unit, shelves, Stressless recliner and ottoman, game table and 2 chairs), dining room (table and 8 chairs), kitchen counter stools, and primary bedroom (bed and nightstands). Everything to date has been delivered as promised in excellent condition and the delivery crew is a joy to work with. The value we've received has far exceeded the price paid. We will likely be back for more accessory pieces and lamps, and will look again at the rugs and pillows. In fact we may also furnish our guest bedroom through Scandanavian Designs even though that was not on the original list for new purchases. Some of them were memory foam...I've never seen that before...very cool. The store is BEAUTIFUL...very eye catching...like you don't know what direction to head first. They also have a lounge area (no alcohol!) with soft beverages and snacks...cool! I am fortunate in that my CFO likes the rug and I don't have to return it. It sounded like the return process could be painful so make sure you like what you are buying, check measurements, etc. BUT I did not have first hand experience with this so just a heads up. I did not need delivery as this was a 5' x 7' area rug that I could manage on my own. When it arrived at the store, I received an email to SCHEDULE PICK-UP/DELIVERY. That was easy! I picked a time that worked, went to the back of the store and wrang the bell. Someone was with me super quick and loaded the rug into my car. The main couch and loveseat they have at their vacation condo is from Bassett and has not had any issues for the last 15 years.

I bought floors for our 3,000 sq ft house (minus bathrooms) from here only because they were the only ones who had the specific look that I wanted. I tried to find it elsewhere but could not find it. The sales man was nice but I felt like it was commission based and he made it appear like he was cutting me "one hell of a price" (he repeated often) when it was probably just the normal price. I don't like stuff like that. I do appreciate that they work with synchrony bank and I was able to get a 0% 2 yr loan for the floors and install. I would have never been able to afford it otherwise. And I hate paying interest. The install went pretty well. I did have them come in three different phases over time. Like 6-9 months of time. When you are remodeling the whole house and Taking out walls that just how that works. The install guys didn't like that becuase they couldn't get paid until it was complete. I was like, well I have paid so it's not my issue. I have gone back to this place twice to get some matching extra baseboards. They no longer have any record of doing my house or any product I bought from them becuase they switched software companies or something. That's super shady. Especially because I was supposed to have a warranty. This made finding matching baseboards hard. Luckily the guys had left one small cover piece for when I redo the bathrooms. Like a perfect cut to get started. The second time I went to get baseboards this new worker ( they have high staff turnover) took forever to pull up my account and said that some other baseboard was what I bought. He brought it out. No way was that what I bought. They had it wrong in their system. I had to drive home, get the little scrap and bring it in. Next the lady helped me and she got what I needed and loaded it for me. When I got home I saw one of them had a huge gouge in the bottom of it (solid wood). Back to the store I had to go again. Definitely check the baseboard they are selling. I often see it scraped, stained etc and the sell it like that. It really should be a brand new perfect piece if your buying it new.
