I stopped by spontaneously today because I desperately need a new mattress. I don't want anything from Amazon. I don't want to lug a synthetic one home from Costco and have to return it. I don't want to go into a big furniture store. I honestly am at a crossroads with whether I want an American mattress at all having used Japanese futons and lived abroad where there are definitely other possibilities for sleep arrangements. I did not want a toxic mattress and as soon as I saw other yelp reviews for this place, I figured what harm could there be in me checking it out. While I wasn't able to go home with a mattress today due to finances, this is absolutely where I would get one hands-down. Myself and my daughters were greeted by Bill, who was beyond friendly and easy and fun to talk to without any sales pressure. He was extremely knowledgeable about all of the mattresses and sleep accessories in the store. I have never wanted so many different mattresses! The energy and vibe in there is extremely calm, welcoming and inviting. I did walk away with a 100% natural latex pillow that I'm excited about for the time being. I really can't wait until I am able to afford the mattress I want from The Sleep Shop. Such a special place. read more

If a mattress company does not allow a minimum of 30 days to try out your sleep comfort, avoid by all means. 1/3 if your life is spent in bed, and there is no possible way to know if you are getting an adequate mattress in laying on it for an hour in a showroom!!! There are many companies that provide this service, unfortunately, Not this business. I spent 4K and had to give the mattress away, as it was not only uncomfortable, but awoke with mid back pain that I never had before in my life. I found a better mattress from a company that gave guarantees to return if necessary. Buyer be forewarned! read more

Ever heard of off gassing? Neither had I until we entered the market for a new bed! Apparently new mattresses are a major culprit of this process sending lots of harmful chemicals into the air in our home! Now I'm a total skeptic when it comes to this kind of all natural stuff, but this seemed legit, and if it makes the fiancee happy, I'm all in too, even if it costs an extra arm and leg. So off to the Sleep Shop we went, as it's the only place in town to get an all natural, or even organic bedding! When we walked in, we were greeted by the soothing sounds of falling rain, chirping birds, and I immediately knew I was not in Kansas anymore. The high desert became the canopy of a calming rainforest filled with giant pillowy plush clouds, also known as mattresses. Our guide through this fantasy land was Karen, a total sweetheart who'd been selling bedding for many years. She knew more about mattresses than I thought anyone could, and her approach to a sale was fantastic. She was not pushy, stressing the health benefits of such a purchase or even pushing us toward the most expensive, all natural options available. She said comfort first, and that's where we landed. The experience was relaxing and fun, and we left educated and very comfortable with our decision to drop some major coinage on this new bed, bed frame, pillows, and sheets, all made from non-gassing and some organic materials. Thanks to Karen and the sleep shop, I'll be living it up in a new king size bed soon, and I'll finally have room to spread out the way I like! read more

The Sleep Shop - Brand new NATURAL king size mattress, organic sheet set, natural bed frame, and shredded latex pillows for our new house! - Mattresses Near Me - Sparks, Nevada

I have been a customer of the sleep shop for 16 years when we bought our Primary king bed. Since I am very sensitive to chemicals used in standard mattress production, I was elated to find a local mattress shop that catered to my sensitivities and provided options for natural mattresses. Over the years we have visited the Sleep Shop for kid's beds and now a guest bed, all have been the right fit and price for us. Our recent experience purchasing a guest bed was wonderful. Karen and Bill were great to work with and the delivery was seamless. read more

My husband and I needed a new bed, as the one we bought two years ago from Mattress Discounters started hurting us a few months in. My husband did a lot of research this time and decided to try this shop. I'm so glad that we did. Karen was.... absolutely spectacular!!! She was so very knowledgeable about the type of beds we were interested in. We were there for about an hour trying the different beds, and asking a million questions. We ultimately chose one that we're so excited about!! Thank you so much for making this such a good experience, when it could've been so stressful!! read more

Karen was so very friendly and helpful with choosing a new mattress. We absolutely love the mattress we purchased from her - my back is so much better and I feel healthier knowing it's made without chemicals. We had an issue with the mattress pad; when I contacted her she decided to test the product herself, kept me updated, decided to do research into a better product and sent me a replacement right away. I am so impressed with this level of customer service. I will definitely return for any future bedding needs and highly recommend The Sleep Shop to everyone. read more

So glad we went into the Sleep Shop! We had been looking for a new mattress for awhile. The best customer service...Karen and Bill. We purchased a bed frame, mattress, mattress pad cover and sheets. The first morning waking up on my new bed, I thought where am I ? I must be on vacation. It felt so good. It was so good we went back and purchased another mattress. Great health conscious mattresses for a decent price. An informative and enjoyable experience. Love this place. read more

Well Karen and Reno's THE SLEEP SHOP did it again ! I used to live in Reno and they provided the most incredible beds to keep me happy every night. Now living in Alabama I called Karen and asked for a solution for a 26ft RV. Trusted Karen to make the selection, sight unseen, the full bed she ordered for me arrived and did not disappoint. The mattress is wonderful. It is SO wonderful. Thank you God of Comfort! We love the sounds of the Summer nights when relaxing in clean-green sheer comfort. read more

Beyond excellent! The Sleep Shop is the best place to purchase a new bed. From the moment walking in the store there is an ease and comfort to the experience. The owner, Karen, is so knowledgable and informed about the mattress industry, offering the best quality beds for optimum sleep and health. We have enjoyed our first bed from The Sleep Shop for many years. Knowing the materials are non-toxic and plant based are so important to us since we spend one-third (maybe more during pandemic) of our lives in our beds! Do yourself a favor and check out The Sleep Shop. It may save you hours of running around and being overwhelmed with options. Plus, I like supporting a small local business that values my well-being! read more

As a joke, my father decided to get me a Trump Select Exclusive Luxury Whatever bed as a wedding gift. In less than a month, the bed started to sag at least two inches in the middle of the bed. It gave my husband horrible shoulder pain and we were both only getting two hours of sleep a night on average. (If you're curious, my dad purchased this bed at Sam's Club and they didn't want to take it back; he left it there anyway.) Karen was extremely friendly and helpful and definitely knew her mattresses! I was a bit tired of going to other mattress stores and not getting satisfactory answers to my questions. Karen, however, knows the business and can help you find the best mattress to fit your needs. We've had our mattress for about a month now and we're in absolute heaven! I never knew sleeping could be so comfortable. I really love the ambiance of the store and how Karen hand-picks the best mattresses (as a bonus none of these mattresses are cheaply made in China, like our Trump Executive Extravagance Whatever bed). Hooray for sleep! read more

I love Karen! I love how honest, genuine and authentic she is. I love my pillow, bedding and cream to fall asleep. But really I llllooooovvveee my sheets they are amazing! I personally appreciate how blunt and well educated she is on the products. If your looking for the straight forward woman speak with Karen she won't let you down!! Bill is also wonderful but Karen's my gal! Thanks for helping me to get the best sleep I can get! read more

We were in the market for an organic mattress and this was one of the only shops in town that had organic options. We arrived and found a small, cozy shop with wonderful owners who took the time to help explain our options. We learned that they actually specialize in organic sleep options. We went with the Keetsa Cloud and they had it shipped directly to our home. They back the products they sell and are very considerate. It was a pleasurable experience all around and the mattress is amazing! read more

What a great place to buy a mattress. Karen was very kind and showed my wife and I quite a few mattresses. I laid on one of the bamboo top mattresses and felt instant stress relief. Even went to a chain store afterwards and tried many high end mattresses, but non felt as good. Went back to buy the mattress from Sleep Shop and Karen was able to get it delivered THAT night. After one night I have no complaints. Mattress has just the right firmness to it and is very comfortable. I'm also happy that its organic and won't off gas. Just bought a bed from The Sleep Shop. All I can say is WOW. They explained and showed how their bed would be beneficial to my situation (chronic back pain). Customer service, fair prices and buying from people who care. They give buying local a good name. read more

Poor and rude customer service by the owner, Karen. The mattress delivered to our house felt nothing like the mattress we tried in the store. The store employee, Bill, was very sympathetic and tried to troubleshoot for us. However Karen interceded and angrily informed us that they do not offer a satisfaction guarantee and the best she could do was facilitate an exchange with the mattress manufacture at our own expense. We were shocked by her behavior since she had been so nice when we purchased the mattress. We ultimately resolved the issue and enjoy our mattress but the experience was unpleasant. read more

If you are looking into buying a new mattress, do yourself a favor and head over to the sleep shop! After doing some minor research on mattresses, of which I have not bought one in about 7 years, I quickly learned online that most new mattresses go through a phase of "off-gassing" in which the first few days of ownership, the new mattress releases most of it's toxic chemicals into your bedroom! After that, only some toxins remain, that you will continue to breathe in for the remainder of your mattress use. ICK! I was horrified when I learned of this, and quickly looked up organic mattresses in Reno, which lead me to the sleep shop. Karen, the owner, greeted us on a Saturday morning, and was welcoming, friendly and most helpful. She was not pushy at all, but you could tell that she was knowledgeable and passionate about her local business. The sleep shop only carries mattresses that are organic or do not contain the harmful chemicals found in most conventional mattresses (especially the new conventional foam mattresses). She helped us select one that was good for both myself and my fiance, as we have different needs when it comes to sleeping. While I walked in fearful of spending several thousand dollars on a very high-end organic mattress, I was pleasantly surprised to walk out of the store have spent about what I would have spent at any mattress store, and feeling really healthy and happy with my purchase. This store is lovely, relaxing, the owners and knowledgeable and helpful, and the products are the best that your money can buy. Being the only mattress store of such high quality in the area, I seriously recommend that everyone go check them out! Happy sleeping :) read more

I decided That I wanted to buy an organic mattress. After much research, the health benefits as well as the eco-consciousness of an organic mattress seemed like a good choice all around. The Sleep Shop has a great selection as well as a price range to fit any budget. Karen was super helpful and informative. I purchased an Anatomic Global memory foam mattress. Delivery was prompt, it arrived days sooner than i had expected. I've had it almost three weeks now, and I love it! We love supporting small business when the opportunity presents itself. We were in the market for a new bed and visited various establishments in the Reno area that carry comparable products. We found the Sleep Shop products to be of great quality, made in America. It was a pleasure to work with Bill Nock. His knowledge of the product was instrumental in our decision to purchase our new bed at the Sleep Shop. Karen (owner) was delightful and made the experience a pleasure. The bed was delivered and set-up as promised. We have had a week to test our new bed. We love it!!!!! I cannot say enough about this small, family owned, local business! They know their products, as well as ones they don't carry, inside and out and are sure to find the bed that will best suit your needs. This is the only option for non-toxic beds in Northern Nevada. Karen is incredibly helpful and cares about making sure your bed is perfect for you. The beds sold here are organic, plant-based, non-toxic, and built to last. You spend 8 hours a day in bed, so make sure you're not breathing in VOCs, phlalates, and formaldehyde from your mattress. read more

I cannot say enough about the best mattress place in town, or anywhere for that matter! I started researching chemical free mattresses over 3 years ago and stumbled upon The Sleep Shop. Dave & Karen, the owners, are welcoming and so knowledgeable. We bought an Italian made king mattress that arrived "in a box" a few weeks later and here I am 3 years later still loving it. Not only do I know I'm sleeping on a "safe" mattress, but it is lightweight, firm, durable and light years beyond any expensive pillow top mattress I've ever owned. So much so that I just went back and bought a mattress for my daughter. The best experience and value, I highly recommend. read more

My boyfriend and I visited the store while on vacation (Aug 2010) to try out mattresses before we moved to Reno and bought one. We picked one and a year later ordered it (Dec 2011). It actually arrived at the same time we did (we drove from the east coast). It was very hard for us to find a mattress that we were both comfortable on. Going back to the store today to buy a gift for him, a buckwheat pillow. He's wanted one for so long. This is the only store I could find locally that sells them.
