Team member Richard attempted to find someone to help me, but there was no one available. The Design Consultant - gone for the day. I said I will just go to Home Depot. Richard, with genuine interest and professionalism offered to answer my product questions and give guidance on design with the knowledge he had. Being the analytical type, Richard narrowed my choices where I could make a decision and not waste any time vetting this on my own. Richard is patient, personable, and provided exemplary customer service. I will be a return customer to Downey Floor and Decor because of his attitude and genuine demeanor to people. Floor and decor in Downey has the worst customer service. I went in on Saturday, April 15th and had trouble finding someone to help me. I eventually ordered flooring for over $5000. I went back on Monday the 17th to ask questions about the underlay needed for the flooring and couldn't find anyone to help me. I tried calling on the phone for over 45 minutes and no one ever answered. I was calling within business hours at 7:00 pm. I called the corporate office and all they could say was try calling in the morning and then said she would try calling the store. I stayed on hold for over 25 minutes and they never came back. If your looking for good service this is not the place to go. I decided to return my flooring and look somewhere else. read more

All of the sales associates REALLY MAKE YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE and are really patient. I came to Floor and Decor because they were recommended by a friend because they have a large selection. I was a little overwhelmed by the large selection when I walked in. I explained to the clerk that I was in the process of remodeling my bathroom, The clerk told me to look in the center of the store which was still overwhelming. I went to the design center to look at the sample bathrooms. The two designers were chatting. They never asked if they could help me or the other customers that were browsing. They seemed put off when I asked for some information. I was frustrated and about to leave until I encountered Pablo. He helped me coordinate the tile for my shower and flooring and found the perfect countertop to match. Pablo was able to show me several options for trim and ultimately changed my store experience. read more

This was my first time here and was blown away with the huge selection of tile and wood laminate. Sue, was awesome! She helped us find everything we needed fast and was patient with us not making up our mind on which tile to choose haha! The Fullerton location is fraught with morons, the staff doesn't communicate, they have no clue what they are doing. Their website inventory indicated they had 6 pieces of a discontinued item in stock, I had originally bought the item at the Downey location and was short a few pieces after a change in design was made. Since the online system indicated they had the pieces and it was available for pickup within 2 hours I ordered and paid for it online, I waited 6 hours for the 'your order is ready' email after the order confirmation email was received and then I called, I was told that they in fact did not have any pieces in stock, but another store did and they would transfer it and have it the next day, that was 6 days ago and I am still being told "it's on a truck and on it's way, should be here tomorrow" they have been telling me tomorrow for 6 days. I had no issues in the Downey store, but the Fullerton store is a disgrace, and the "management" is worthless. read more

Went in today to look for some flooring and only one person assisted us in the beginning walking us to the area where we would find our stuff. We were a little confused about how things worked here since it was our first time here and no one made it an easy job for us. Took a sample to the register to let them know what we wanted to purchase and waited for minutes while no one assisted us but saw multiple employees chatting. So we decided to figure it out on our own. Went back to the register with the boxes we needed. A young man assisted us and scanned our stuff while in line on his phone. While we waited for further instructions the cashier, Ana, rudely asked us if we were ready yet. Well maybe you should let me know and direct me that YOU are ready to finish my transaction. I know what customer service looks like as I've worked in the industry for years and in my visit I can say I received very bad customer service. read more

I have to say that Floor Decor has a wide variety of products but not enough knowledgeable personnel about the products. I think it would be a plus for this company to train their personnel on their products. I must give kudos to a wonderful, knowledgeable salesperson by the name of Hayden at the Downey store. I'm only allowed to give 5 stars but if I could I would give Brent and Matt at 10 star rating...From the first day we met Brent; he has been extremely helpful in every way. My wife and I were lost in choosing the floor for our home... This is when Brent saved us.. He made the process a breeze.. it was helpful when he had us look at different options and told us the good n bad of every floor we where considering. We ended up choosing a beautiful floor for our home, thanks to Brent. After choosing our floor we moved on to the next part of our home project, 3 bathrooms ... This is when we met Matt; he helped us design 3 breathtaking restrooms. Each one with its unique look and feel and the best part was that he helped us stay with in our budget and incorporated marble which we wanted but where afraid it would be too expensive...But Matt made it work.... even though I am almost done with my project I see Brent or Matt and they make themselves available to help me answer any questions, I may still have.. Both Matt and Brent are patient and awesome to work with. I am super bummed to be writing this review. I thought I finally found the marble tile I wanted for my home having found Floor and Decor's website. I spent a solid day trying to reach a human at the Downey Floor and Décor with no luck. Option 3 on for the "marble" department disconnects after a few rings. After several tries down that rabbit hole, I got through to someone on the "ceramic tile" option who stated "please hold" and abruptly put me on hold for 43 minutes before I gave up and tried calling back. It has been a solid 6 hours of trying to get through to someone, with no answer, disconnections, and/or insane hold periods. I am now taking my business elsewhere and paying almost twice the cost because time is money, and I just wasted a whole day of my time since this business got too busy to handle questions from potential customers. My two minute question was to check if a tile was in stock, and if it could be viewed in-person at the Downey store today (since I live 1.5 hours away). One hopes that these reviews are read, and perhaps more funds will be spent on hiring staff to answer phones. read more

Brent is simple AMAZING!!!! He was the first person I saw and I asked him if he could point me in the direction of porcelain octagon tile for my kitchen floor and instead he walked me over to that area and from there he answered all my questions, so I figured I have him show me back splashes and then bathroom flooring and then counter tops. I was in and out in just over an hour because of his hands on assistance. He was knowledgeable and had some great recommendations...but not at all was he a pushy salesman. I don't think I could of had a better experience, BRENT should be employee of the month every month he works there. I have everything picked out for my bathroom and kitchen and will be ready to order as soon as my contractor tells me we need it. Breant emailed me a breakdown with all the info I need to come back and order with ease. Remodeling is very stressful, so an experience like I had at Floor & Decor makes me very happy! read more

Hands down this five star is for Bob D. in floors/wood. Bob is awesome and consistently above and beyond helpful! My husband wanted to do a DIY bamboo floor installment for our bedrooms and we had gone here to check out the bamboo selections this location has given it's a new store and we knew they would have more than the locations near our home (which it does by the way). This was when we met Bob! He not only took the time to walk us through the bamboo selections but gave my us great tips on how to put them together. Then on multiple occasions thereafter where I had to make trips back to get reducers & quarter rounders, Bob would always take the time to help me find the color and type I needed. On one occasion, he even went through all the clearance sections (pulling out one by one) to find the reducer I needed even when I lost hope of finding enough for our project! He even help load them in my car. Bob seriously goes above and beyond! If you need help with floorings, ask for Bob! Way to go Floor & Decor for hiring someone like Bob. read more

We went here after also going to the one in La Habra. In La Habra we were approached by at least 6 sales person asking us if we needed help. We decided to go to the Downey store because it was a little closer. We went up to the design desk and there were three designers there. I asked if they can help with some design ideas for my bathroom remodel. Johnathan and Armando were at the desk. Johnathan proceed to tell Armando that he had to go on break and then I was told they had an appointment for someone that was suppose to be there at 1230pm. It was 12:31pm and Johnathan said, if the person doesn't show up in 10 minutes then Armando would help me. So I then waited and noticed both Armando and Johnathan walking away from the desk. 15 minutes later I walked up to the desk and Asked Johnathan if the other appointment ever showed up. He said, "I don't know". Then called Armando who came over and Johnathan walked away. Armando then asked how he can help. I explained my bathroom situation to him while he was staring at the computer screen. Then after explaining it to him. He looks at me and asked again, "so how can I help again?"! Like he waited for me to talk just to ask again. Then he tells me that he can't help because the software program is down and can't help me at all. That would have been nice to tel me when i first asked for his help and was told to wait 10 minutes. It appears that Armando and Johnathan didn't want to help certain customers. Then waste our time while they are at it. Lazy workers!!! I guess you get what you pay for. The design people do it for free so don't expect much from them. I would call the manager but the way they were so obviously lazy that they didn't care what the manager would say. read more

I could not be more impressed with this place. Imagine a Home Depot-sized store that only has floors, tile, countertops, etc. They have everything from high end to more affordable options. Pretty much everything offered on their website is available in stock for you to touch, feel, and take home right then and there. Imagine that! Soooo thankful for the Yelp reviewers who brought this to my attention. They just opened up a few months ago so not a lot of people know they exist. I went into Floor & Decor without the intention to buy anything in particular, with a fresh mind to view some of their wares after being unimpressed with rivaling tile places. I wandered the quite large place as most associates were busy or talking amongst each other, finally a woman named Mariah approached me and quite kindly guided me through the department wares. I have seen a very scathing review on her and I feel it may be somewhat disgruntled. After I was shown around I decided on going to go checking out Home Depot for other options but the treatment from this employee was above exceptional. I cannot say the same for the rest. read more

Great store. Lot's of beautiful products to choose from; All at price points to meet anyone's budget. Staff is attentive without being overly so. Met Matt a manager there who was super helpful and friendly in all aspects of my experience. Actually all of the staff were friendly and waiting to help. If they didn't know something they found another staff member who did. I made my purchases on a Saturday and on the following Monday went back to change it all because of a meeting I had with the contractor/architect over the weekend. Matt the manager actually came out and helped me again. He also went to my car and took out some of the product I had taken with me on the Saturday before. All done with competence and friendliness. Low prices but poor customer service. There were two prices listed on some laminate flooring I was interested in. When paying, they charged me for the higher price. I then let the cashier know that the lower price is also listed and wanted to pay that price. She called for a helper who confirmed the two prices and then she called for her manager. The manager stated that the hire price was the right price, even though the lower price was still advertised for the laminate. I asked since it is the store's mistake, they should give me the lower price and she refused and walked away. No apology, no customer recovery whatsoever. I won't be going back. read more

I was at the Downey location over the weekend. I overheard a store employee who I believe was the manager Elliott embarrass a mother and family over a balloon that they have gotten somewhere in the store. I first thought Elliott was playing around but he was serious about the mom giving back the ballon. I have been to many stores and have some the same thing for my child, either ask an employee or just get the ballon myself just so my child has something to do while I do my shopping . Elliott took the ballon from the mother and said that they don't have a lot of balloons so he needs it. I couldn't believe what I saw the lady was obviously embarrassed and upset of the situation which I would have gave him hell for that, but she kindly asked for his info and guessing she was going to make a complaint. I will do my part as I can't see a manager do something stupid like that. I hope he gets fired!!! You don't talk or treat people like that. If I need to come back to this store and Elliott is working I will give him a piece of my mind and walk away to another store. That could have been me he was talking to like that and I wouldn't take his bs. Bad customer service!! You need to treat your customers with respect and this guy is one of the worst employees/manager I have seen. You could get a bag of 20 balloons at the 99 cent store and make a child happy having him take a ballon home. But make a big deal over that is unacceptable. This was my first time in a floor nd décor. I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and inviting it was. I just recently saw a commercial and thought I would stop in. I came in this last week and was offered help by almost everyone I passed. I couldn't believe how big it was and one lady gave me the layout of the store. I think she said " I manage this little building". I only remember her comment because it made me laugh. I also was helped by a gentleman who was so helpful and explained some differences in tile and wood. I really thought I knew more about this stuff until I came here. I guess the only thing I can think of that was a bit bothersome was the thing they carried that everyone was talking on.. Some kind of phone or walkie talkie. Either way, I don't think I have had an experience like this in a retail store for some time. Now I am 66 years old.. so I have been around a while. If this helps at all...
