I've been shopping at Torrid since it opened in the early 2000's. Torrid stores in California, Texas and Kansas. Since 2020, I haven't stepped in a Torrid Brick and Mortar store. I usually shop online. Yesterday I decided to head to Torrid Cerritos. Two ladies behind the counter turned around from handling clothes behind the counter and hurriedly said welcome then turned back continuing on with clothes. I looked around for a few pieces in the front, but I wanted help with narrowing down a dress for church that I had to be at in an hour. When I asked for help one of the ladies didn't appear happy. Because one of them had to help me, she appeared almost annoyed. I told her my size when she asked and she immediately started saying she wasn't sure she had my size in her store. I knew that was not true because I saw a couple of newer pieces in the front. She said she might have some in the clearance rack and she started trying to pull pieces from the Clearance rack. Usually the clearance rack has very outdated clothing. But she assumed I couldn't afford a new dress or something. After a couple of minutes she pulled out an atrocious muted peach dress that was from 10 or more summers ago, at least it looked like it. It looked see through, the employee tried to gaslight me into thinking it wasn't. At that point I was ready to leave. I went back to front of the store and just decided to leave. I've never felt so bad. I was treated really poorly, tossed aside. The employee had a take it or leave it attitude. I was looking for a little grace, dignity and Respect. I left there thinking this is the last time I'll be patronizing Torrid. I never could have imagined that I'd be saying goodbye to my old faithful clothing store. Torrid, you were good until you weren't.

The manager IVAN refused to accept the return item because his "store would take this as a loss" and "would not be able to resell it" and requested to return to the original purchase location. I still had my original receipt and item in original condition. My tone and demeanor completely calm, I simply stated I do not understand .... Ivan raised his voice, sounded stressed out and flustered repeated again his explanation.... Of course I had another rebuttal. Then advised ok I'm only going to do it this time.... The minute I turn my back, after the transaction was complete, he tells the cashier exactly my rebuttal " make sure you mark that item as defective ". I unfortunately will not be returning to this location because of the service you provided IVAN. I work in customer service as well - communication is key. Had I walked in my work suit and full face of make up maybe I would have received different service is how you made me feel.

On the brand name items it's comparable or more than if you go to a supermarket. You just don't realize it when you're buying 1 unit versus a full pack / container. I used to buy Gatorade here but now it's the smaller bottles. You're better off going to Staters in the same plaza. Employees were nice and prompt checking us out. No complaints! One of our favorite things is to look through clearance items. We were hoping to maybe find some bargain buys. We didn't. Some items were on clearance alright, but the discount wasn't significant enough to peak our interest. From $3.99 to $3.49, or from $5.99 to $5.00. Meh. And I found a few items with red tag prices higher than the regular price tag. I know... that doesn't make sense. Please refer to one of the pictures attached where the original compare price is at $14.00, and their price is $9.99 but the red tag price is $12.00. WHAT?! We saw a few of these. It was a little off putting. And that's how I lost interest. We ended up leaving empty-handed. The store was pretty clean and organized. I didn't have any interaction with staff members, so I can't comment on that. We simply didn't find anything interesting or worth buying. Okay first run. Not ruling it out altogether, but it may be awhile before that 2nd visit, if at all.

I had already bought a matching jacket and I was soo genuinely excited. NOW, I've decided not to pick up the rest of my order. My pick up date was on 9/17, today's date is 9/26. Why does the bracelet have no cancellation rush as my Dr.Martins shoes?!? They canceled my shoes before the expected pick up date, but they haven't canceled my pick up order after 8 days past due date. That's incredible insane!!! Manager should check if any employees bought Dr.Martens lately because honestly, that was really sketchy
