This is now on my list as one of my favorite stores. I thought I would walk in to only find ideas but ending up visiting the store 3 times over 2 days. I purchased tile for my kitchen and bathroom. Josh, Kevin and Maria were the kindest most patient representatives that I had the pleasure to encounter. Josh and Kevin provided prices quickly and even pushed our items to the front of the store. They both went beyond the call of duty. Maria was equally patient and helpful with explaining the return process. Although I selfishly want to keep this store as my hidden gem, I will be sharing my new find with everyone. I can't wait to see my project finished. Thank you Floor & Decor! read more

As much as I love this store with amazing prices. The only thing I do not care for us they have very young kids working with very little experience or always have to chase someone down for assistance. Not to mention the cashiers these girls move slow and have personal conversations while customers are in line or on there cell phones. No customer service etiquette what so ever. Last night at 8:15pm there was at least 12 people in line with only one cashier taking her time while eating her snack and talking to another girl in personal conversations. It was rude while this line was long. This store needs more mature workers to keep workers in check. read more

I have now redone 2 bathrooms with Floor & Decor tile. I appreciate the selection at both the Downey and Fountain Valley stores. If I had to make one very important suggestion to both locations, I would say that offering additional assistance when 2 or 3 sales people are just standing around would be greatly appreciated. Being told where tile is and then getting there to find that you had to move a large roll away sign to even get to it was a bit much. But again, the selection is great and the prices are fair! read more

The stuff here is pretty HGTV, meaning "blah" - don't expect to find anything consistent with 20th century decor. Maybe I caught them at a bad time, but they also seem really understaffed. read more

Went there as recommended by my contractor. I bought kitchen tiles and planks for my accent wall. Good products, good prices and good return policy. Staff was very helpful, professional, accommodating, and available. I didn't have to hunt them down. read more

We are currently in the midst of serious home improvement/remodeling and have been to numerous home improvement stores where the sales associates have been dumb as dirt and useless and you can'tfind one in the first place. We walk into the store and right away were met by a sales associate who assisted us right away. Sales associate Clint was very helpful and knowledgeable. He showed us numerous samples and explained all the options and choices with different flooring. He made our experience great. I highly recommend this store. read more

I'm a long time client of Floor and Decor and have spent thousands of dollars there. I needed to drive to Downey as the woodland Hills store ran out of the flooring I needed. I had some trouble securing 30 boxes of flooring in the back of the truck that I borrowed. I asked the Pro Desk helper (Martha) if someone could help me. She was NOT very helpful and said that we can't help you with that. When I asked if perhaps someone can give me suggestions in the tie down strap to buy and answer a question or two so that I might secure the load, she seemed bothered and called "someone" After a few minutes of no response. I went and found Clint. Clint explained to me that due to liability they're not allowed to tie down the load for me, but that he would be happy to advise me as to what I should buy and how to fasten it securely. If it weren't for Clint Floor and Decor would have lost me as a client read more

First, I would like to say Manny (assistant store manager), Jay (store manager) and Al (regional manager) are all nice guys. I went to their store on Friday, April 12th and picked a flooring that I liked, but I needed a measure done and they recommended I use their third party vendor "Installation Made Easy". My appt. was scheduled for Friday, April 19th, with a rep from Alpha Express Flooring, Inc. he measured and told me I should hear back that same day or Saturday. I did not hear back,so I sent them an email on Wednesday, April 24th (no response to date), I also contacted the store and spoke to the young lady behind the design desk, she informed me she had no info for my measure and would contact them and get back to me (no response to date). I went to the store on Friday, April 26th and spoke to Manny (assistant store manager) and Jay (store manager) who informed me he(Jay) reached out to "Installation Made Easy" and was waiting on a call back (no response from the Floor and Decor, Alpha Express or Installation Made Easy to date). I really hate to have to go elsewhere as I really liked the flooring they have, but where I spend my money and customer service is VERY important to me. UPDATE: I just received a message from a member of the "Installation made easy" vendor yesterday who stated on her VM that she had Jose from Alpha Express Flooring on the line, who claimed he had been trying to get in contact with me to verify the measurements in one of the bedrooms (It's unfortunate that they are now resorting to fabricating stories to stay in business). First of all, NO ONE from Alpha Express Flooring has tried to contact me since April 19th, the day the measure was done. I returned their call only to be put on hold, so the rep could contact Jose, who not surprisingly did not answer his phone. I was then told that they will email the company and have them call me yesterday...guess what...no call.. read more

If any of you have ever done a complete remodel or have built a new home, then you know how hard it is to decide from the ten million options and tile selections that you have to choose from. Susy Mora (designer) at Floor & Decor in Downey not only made our selection process easy but she made it fun!! Susy is very knowledgeable, and didn't sugar coat anything. Susy has earned our respect because she was honest. If you're in need of design ideas, Susy IS the person you need to speak to. We hope this review gets to cooperate because they need to know that Susy is a tremendous asset to their continued success!!!! Thanks again Susy!!! SVJR read more

1st time at floor and decor and we loved it! easy store navigation, everything is priced and labeled. We easily found the tile we had seen online in the store. No one approached us to see if we needed help, but once we reached out to a customer service rep, it was smooth sailing from there. Marissa was very helpful determining how much supplies and tile we needed, she really knew her stuff, she got us all set up. Stephanie our cashier was really helpful aswell helped us find the right grout color and processed our order and provided all the information we requested. The process was super easy and hassle free. We enjoyed shopping here, and very much enjoyed the selection of flooring they offer. read more

Who knew that buying tile at a place with such a huuuge selection would be so easy. My mom and I were lucky enough to have Brent help us. He is helpful, patient, and knowledgeable. Great store and very knowledgeable about their products. Thank you Stephanie for all your help!

Horrible service! Gave me moldings that didn't match from the Carson store. I had to return it and pay the difference i asked the cashier to match the price to avoid paying $3 extra. But gave me an attitude both supervisor and cashier at 8:57pm. read more

I had no idea a store like this existed. The selection of tile and flooring related materials is quite exhaustive and overwhelming. Without this store, where everything is in one place, my wife and I probably wouldn't be able to agree on our choice of tiles. Prices are reasonable and comparable to Home Depot and Lowes, but their customer service and selection are far superior. Too bad the one opening up in Carson wasn't open in time for our kitchen and bathroom remodel. My wife literally went to the Downey store from Redondo Beach about 8-10 times in a 5 week period for various reasons. read more

Came here today for the first time to get flooring for one of my units I came in overwhelmed by the amount of flooring they had to offer, Alexis saw that I was lost and she stepped in to help right away, even though she wasn't very sure she went and found someone to help me right away. Antonio stepped in to help, he was very patient with me and showed me so many options I never felt rushed at all They really made my day Thanks you Alexis and Antonio. read more

I went into floor and Decour today and had to return some items. Katrina was at the register and was trying to find a receipt for a customer who was yelling at her boss or manager Sabrina. Katrina handled it very professionally and trying to find this receipt on her computer for this irate customer. Sabrina assisted me in getting my grout for me while I was returning my items. I never had to go into the store to shop myself they brought me my products. It was a pleasure shopping there being assisted by Katrina and Sabrina. read more

Awesome store. This was my first experience selecting tiles to remodel. They have a vast selection of tiles and supplies. Mariah was helpful. She suggested color schemes and had a good idea of what products compliment each other read more

I am doing a massive Reno and we simply cannot spend $35 sf on all the tiles. I went to Downey and scoped our the inventory and found the store very relaxing weirdly. Not too crowded. Clean. True they don't have all the fancy high end tiles but that is why you are heading here. They have super affordable tiles and some really quality merchandise at reasonable prices. I set up a free design consult with Jonny (aka Jonatan) amd he's lovely. No interest in pushing me. Very relaxed and smart advice. Helped me and organized everything for me. Didn't pester me or make me feel like o had to do anything. I truly appreciate it when a sales person is organized and thoughtful and sweet and funny. It makes the process so much better. They are very lucky to have him. I am going to get some of my fancy detail tiles at other stores, but I ended up buying a big massive percentage at this Downey location mostly because Jonny and the prices made me want to just do it all there. read more

My visit was about a month ago, and yet I can't forget the excellent customer service Hayden provided me. I was undecided, for about 4+ hours, with a handful of tile options. Once I narrowed it down to 2 types of tiles, Hayden approached me knowing I was struggling with a dilemma. He didn't simply pick what he liked. Instead, he enlightened & gave some insightful advice in order for me to come to my own conclusion. That wasn't the end of his assistance. After feeling confident with my selections, he "clocked out" only to find me in doubt minutes later. I'm sure he stayed for at least another hour (after his shift) till he saw I was confident to check out. I can't say I can remember when I last experienced customer service that truly defines "above & beyond." Side note: There's a cute short girl who helped me look over some options in the decor tile (mosaics) department. Didn't catch her name, but you'll know exactly who I'm talking about if you're in that section of the store. read more

I came to this store with no idea how to remodel a backsplash for my kitchen and bathroom. Patiently waiting to see who can help associate named mariana helped me through the process. She was so nice and gave me all her time. She was so sweet and gave me tips how to make it pop out more with some shimmer grouts. She also helped me picked some floor tiles to go with it. I can't thank her enough stores need people with her moods and beautiful personality! read more

Diana #PinkhairDoesCare! I received the best help from Diana on the two occasions that I shopped here @ the Downey store. She literally walked me through that huge store and helped me gather all of the items I needed for my remodels. She was meticulous in helping me match the floor trim I needed and placed a special order for me to assure I got the proper materials. Diana stopped me from getting the wrong items because she asked detailed questions about my projects and explained why I needed a different material versus the one I thought "would work"! I was very impressed not just by her knowledge, but by her abilities to deal properly with multiple customers @ once. That trait is a gift in a heavy customer service environment when lots of people are vying for attention. Great job Diana! Also, kudos to Erick who assisted me on another occasion and helped me out to my car. Treat them well, Floor & Decor. Employees like them are precious gifts! read more

Don't expect to come in and get out in any sort of timely manner. Not a lot of readily available staff to help and when I finally got someone it took a team of three who moved rather slowly to figure out where my requested product was, move the palette down, call three departments to find them missing catalog page to see if bullnose was available. With that said, everyone was willing to help, friendly, somewhat knowledgeable or at least resourceful. They helped load it into my car anf got me in my way. Found a great tile I was hunting for at a serious discount here. TONS of options. Just be patient. read more

Mariah worst employee known to mankind. No social skills what's so ever . No customer service skills what so ever . Doesn't even know the store policies . Was extremely rude to my wife and I . For such a new company you would think they'll hire well trained individuals or at least individuals with common sense. Not visiting this store ever again. As a house developer I'm always looking for companies with various options. I can't say I'll shop here again. At least not at the Downey location with MARIAH. read more

I can't give less than 3 stars because I haven't been there but whoever I spoke to on the phone could have been a little more patient and definitely a lot more knowledgeable. He kept having to ask someone next to him everything that I would ask. Why couldn't I just talk to that person? I'll assume that we accidentally got disconnected but I'm pretty sure I was hung up on. I'm still deciding if I'll actually go to the store or not and if I do I'll update this review. read more
