I have now redone 2 bathrooms with Floor & Decor tile. I appreciate the selection at both the Downey and Fountain Valley stores. If I had to make one very important suggestion to both locations, I would say that offering additional assistance when 2 or 3 sales people are just standing around would be greatly appreciated. Being told where tile is and then getting there to find that you had to move a large roll away sign to even get to it was a bit much. But again, the selection is great and the prices are fair! read more

We are currently in the midst of serious home improvement/remodeling and have been to numerous home improvement stores where the sales associates have been dumb as dirt and useless and you can'tfind one in the first place. We walk into the store and right away were met by a sales associate who assisted us right away. Sales associate Clint was very helpful and knowledgeable. He showed us numerous samples and explained all the options and choices with different flooring. He made our experience great. I highly recommend this store. read more

I'm a long time client of Floor and Decor and have spent thousands of dollars there. I needed to drive to Downey as the woodland Hills store ran out of the flooring I needed. I had some trouble securing 30 boxes of flooring in the back of the truck that I borrowed. I asked the Pro Desk helper (Martha) if someone could help me. She was NOT very helpful and said that we can't help you with that. When I asked if perhaps someone can give me suggestions in the tie down strap to buy and answer a question or two so that I might secure the load, she seemed bothered and called "someone" After a few minutes of no response. I went and found Clint. Clint explained to me that due to liability they're not allowed to tie down the load for me, but that he would be happy to advise me as to what I should buy and how to fasten it securely. First, I would like to say Manny (assistant store manager), Jay (store manager) and Al (regional manager) are all nice guys. I went to their store on Friday, April 12th and picked a flooring that I liked, but I needed a measure done and they recommended I use their third party vendor "Installation Made Easy". My appt. was scheduled for Friday, April 19th, with a rep from Alpha Express Flooring, Inc. he measured and told me I should hear back that same day or Saturday. I did not hear back,so I sent them an email on Wednesday, April 24th (no response to date), I also contacted the store and spoke to the young lady behind the design desk, she informed me she had no info for my measure and would contact them and get back to me (no response to date). I went to the store on Friday, April 26th and spoke to Manny (assistant store manager) and Jay (store manager) who informed me he(Jay) reached out to "Installation Made Easy" and was waiting on a call back (no response from the Floor and Decor, Alpha Express or Installation Made Easy to date). I really hate to have to go elsewhere as I really liked the flooring they have, but where I spend my money and customer service is VERY important to me. UPDATE: I just received a message from a member of the "Installation made easy" vendor yesterday who stated on her VM that she had Jose from Alpha Express Flooring on the line, who claimed he had been trying to get in contact with me to verify the measurements in one of the bedrooms (It's unfortunate that they are now resorting to fabricating stories to stay in business). First of all, NO ONE from Alpha Express Flooring has tried to contact me since April 19th, the day the measure was done. I returned their call only to be put on hold, so the rep could contact Jose, who not surprisingly did not answer his phone. 1st time at floor and decor and we loved it! easy store navigation, everything is priced and labeled. We easily found the tile we had seen online in the store. No one approached us to see if we needed help, but once we reached out to a customer service rep, it was smooth sailing from there. Marissa was very helpful determining how much supplies and tile we needed, she really knew her stuff, she got us all set up. Stephanie our cashier was really helpful aswell helped us find the right grout color and processed our order and provided all the information we requested. The process was super easy and hassle free. I had no idea a store like this existed. The selection of tile and flooring related materials is quite exhaustive and overwhelming. Without this store, where everything is in one place, my wife and I probably wouldn't be able to agree on our choice of tiles. Prices are reasonable and comparable to Home Depot and Lowes, but their customer service and selection are far superior. Too bad the one opening up in Carson wasn't open in time for our kitchen and bathroom remodel. I went into floor and Decour today and had to return some items. Katrina was at the register and was trying to find a receipt for a customer who was yelling at her boss or manager Sabrina. Katrina handled it very professionally and trying to find this receipt on her computer for this irate customer. Sabrina assisted me in getting my grout for me while I was returning my items. I never had to go into the store to shop myself they brought me my products. It was a pleasure shopping there being assisted by Katrina and Sabrina. read more

I am doing a massive Reno and we simply cannot spend $35 sf on all the tiles. I went to Downey and scoped our the inventory and found the store very relaxing weirdly. Not too crowded. Clean. True they don't have all the fancy high end tiles but that is why you are heading here. They have super affordable tiles and some really quality merchandise at reasonable prices. I set up a free design consult with Jonny (aka Jonatan) amd he's lovely. No interest in pushing me. Very relaxed and smart advice. Helped me and organized everything for me. Didn't pester me or make me feel like o had to do anything. I truly appreciate it when a sales person is organized and thoughtful and sweet and funny. It makes the process so much better. They are very lucky to have him. I am going to get some of my fancy detail tiles at other stores, but I ended up buying a big massive percentage at this Downey location mostly because Jonny and the prices made me want to just do it all there. read more

My visit was about a month ago, and yet I can't forget the excellent customer service Hayden provided me. I was undecided, for about 4+ hours, with a handful of tile options. Once I narrowed it down to 2 types of tiles, Hayden approached me knowing I was struggling with a dilemma. He didn't simply pick what he liked. Instead, he enlightened & gave some insightful advice in order for me to come to my own conclusion. That wasn't the end of his assistance. After feeling confident with my selections, he "clocked out" only to find me in doubt minutes later. I'm sure he stayed for at least another hour (after his shift) till he saw I was confident to check out. I can't say I can remember when I last experienced customer service that truly defines "above & beyond." Side note: There's a cute short girl who helped me look over some options in the decor tile (mosaics) department. She literally walked me through that huge store and helped me gather all of the items I needed for my remodels. She was meticulous in helping me match the floor trim I needed and placed a special order for me to assure I got the proper materials. Diana stopped me from getting the wrong items because she asked detailed questions about my projects and explained why I needed a different material versus the one I thought "would work"! I was very impressed not just by her knowledge, but by her abilities to deal properly with multiple customers @ once. That trait is a gift in a heavy customer service environment when lots of people are vying for attention. Great job Diana! Don't expect to come in and get out in any sort of timely manner. Not a lot of readily available staff to help and when I finally got someone it took a team of three who moved rather slowly to figure out where my requested product was, move the palette down, call three departments to find them missing catalog page to see if bullnose was available. With that said, everyone was willing to help, friendly, somewhat knowledgeable or at least resourceful. They helped load it into my car anf got me in my way. Called this morning April 14 got a hold of Sue. Told her I could not find my receipt from a previous purchase. I wanted that information because I wanted to purchase the same laminate. She looked it on at the cash register and found the SKU# I asked her if she can pull the order for all of the items I needed. When I got to the store in the afternoon. The clerk that assist me stated that employees like to hide in the store not to help any customer, after walking thru the back area found three employees just talking personal between them. Without a doubt they have the best selection in flooring but the have the worst people working there. They are rude, unprofessional, and incompetent. I called prior to coming in to see if i can make a return without my receipt and I was told yes as long as I had my bank statement. I came in with my bank statement as I was told and confirmed I would be able to make the return, and Alondra told me with the rudest of attitudes that it couldn't be done. These people are far from helpful and need major customer service skills. Such a shame that such a great store has horrible people running the store. read more

Just left Floor and Decor in Downey. Picked up an order but honestly I wished I cancelled. Such a rude staff. One lady in particular. Didn't have a name tag so I didn't get a name but she had a sleeve tattoo and dark hair. She was unnecessarily rude. No concept of customer service. No "please," no "thank you." Just barking orders at customers. If you want us to back our cars into the parking space, all you have to do is ask...politely. It costs you nothing to be polite. Also, I get you're scared of the current pandemic, but if I'm 40 feet away from you, waiting on you to get my order, don't try and force me to wait in my car. I'm nowhere near you, and there's already a giant saying telling me to practice social distance. I don't need you making a point to force me to wait in my car, especially when I drove here with my work crew. If I want to stand outside my car and 15ft away from the next human being, I can do that. I don't need your permission. If you're this mad about having to work through this pandemic, I feel for you. I wish I could stay home to. But that still does not give you the right to be a jerk with people. If you're having a bad day, go home. There's plenty of employees standing around or in the case of the two guys in front of your store - sitting around. Give one of them your clipboard and let the customers do business without your negative attitude. read more

The initial time I went inside the store, I was referred to the store's pro services. At this point, the manager, Edwin contacted me and informed me that he will be helping me with my project. Everything was going smooth, and Edwin was very helpful in ordering the materials I needed. Today, I called the store inquiring to order stair nose pieces which I had forgotten. This is the point where this good experience has been immediately destroyed by Diane's unwillingness to help. She insisted that pro services was closed and I needed to call back and refused to check their system for the items I wanted to look for. She repeatedly placed me on hold and never got back on the phone. Based on what I could hear, it appears that she was engaged in a personal conversation with someone else prior to me calling. I then called their Fullerton store and Marissa was able to use the sku number and determined that this item will be a special order. This simple task could've been handled by Diane but her personal conversation was far more important to her than assisting a customer. This type of customer service is extremely embarrassing for this franchise, having someone lacking motivation and the drive for the business. read more

I was looking for a specific type of stone that I was unable to find at other stores and he found it with ease. He was adamant about finding it and he did.
