Float tanks are something I only knew about through silly scenes in the Simpsons or Sex and the City, but I had a day off work and decided to try it myself. I am glad I did! This is located in the first floor of an apartment complex in Bellevue - the lobby is clean and the staff person I worked with was friendly and knowledgeable. Each float tank is in a clean, private, lockable room with a shower and towels and ear plugs - everything you need. The float tank experience itself is pretty cool - after showering you get in the tank, which is about ten inches of water with a whole bunch of epsom salt in it. The water and the air are the same temperature as the human body so it's a bit hard to distinguish between you and the environment after a bit. You can close the tank and turn off the light for a complete sensory deprivation experience, or try any combo to your comfort level. Being able to float provides great stretches and opportunities for meditation. I thought it would be hard to figure get through an hour of doing nothing - but it goes fast! The tank plays music to let you know the experience is over (for now). Afterwards I felt like I had a great massage. Go! read more

I had a super amazing experience here! The tank rooms are nicely done, love the shower and tank set up. Everything was well placed. I noticed they had bathrobes which I totally used after drying myself. It came in handy as I got some clothes on. The bench was well placed. They had head support and pool tubes. The float tanks were just the right amount of room and depth. I felt it was clean and actually saw them circulate the water at the end which was super great to see. They had ear plus and this solution to help with salt in the ears. The experience was very meditative! I had clarity on two things I really wanted to find answers to! read more

Like others before me, I have done the epsom salt in the bath tub to relax type of deal. The typical problem that arises is a) the bathtub is too small b) you end up putting too much or too little water in the tub and c) you get distracted by other things in your apartment. To combat that, there are places like Float Seattle. I did this through ClassPass Even before we start, those who are extremely claustrophobic or allergic to epsom should definitely not do this. But luckily, I am neither of these things. To start, the entrance is located inside the same lobby as Park Metro apartments. So you have to walk through the general lobby first to then enter the door to Float. I was there earlier like they ask as it was first time. If it is your first time to this sort of experience, I wouldn't leave it to last minute because the person there helped me to calm any last minute fears I had (can I drown like this, is there a possibility of a Final Destination scenario, etc) The room was clean. Someone could have been there before and I would not have known. I appreciate the care in materials to make sure my experience was well taken care of. Towels were there for the floor and myself, earplugs and a neck rest to make sure I was comfortable and afloat. Getting inside the pod was a weird experience. I actually slid my butt on the pod floor while trying to get comfortable. I wouldn't recommend. But once I was in, I found myself relaxing and listening to the music provided (I wanted it and the light on for my benefit) Overall, it was a good experience but I have one minor complaint. A change in music is the signifier that your session has stopped. But during my time inside, it was not forceful enough to let me know that it was over. Due to the earplugs, I could barely hear it in the first place. The change sounded like people talking outside of my room. Luckily for me, I had my watch close by so I opened the pod to check it and then I started to prepare to leave. But it didn't take too much from my experience. And it is a good place to try something new Pro tip: salt gets everywhere. Even know I'm finding new crevices where I find a deposit if salt. And swim caps do not work unfortunately. read more

Definitely will come back here! I visited Seattle for a week and I had done the float before but I have to say that this is the best location I've ever been to! Excellent service, excellent staff!! Again, excellent staff!! I was there on the 7/12/23 and the lady there just made the experience so pleasant! Please tell her a huge thank you! The location is cozy, stylish and looks like a cute little spa. They have IR sauna and cold plunge rooms also which I didn't try but looked at and it's nice, spotless clean and roomy. The floatation room is your own personal room with an open shower (in the same room as the float) and the pod. The place just screams eco-friendly: the ropes are there but they ask to only use them if necessary - I didn't need mine. They have everything you need: ear plugs, petroleum jelly if you have cuts, the neck pillow (I didn't need) and towels for face and body. Shampoo, conditioner and shower gel are all there as well as the vinegar ear rinse (was very helpful after the salt). Good quality of everything I listed. The room and the pod itself were spotless clean. Instructions are given clearly and also printed on the wall. In the pod you have an option for light and music which are easily findable two big buttons on the right of the inside of the pod. You can plug your own music if you like but I didn't need any. To plug the music or play the music let the attendant know. The water was perfect and clean. Temperature perfect. I was floating with no problem and had amazing experience, deep and meditative! The pod is huge and has plenty of room. I turned off the light so it was as dark as with my eyes completely shut. I used no music as I stayed and I went deep in my meditation. It's unmatched experience... you are tripping for sure and you get a deep deep relaxation in all of your body. I feel like I took a week long vacation. By the end of the one hour season the 5 minute light music played to let you know of the coming finale of the meditation. Then the filters come on you advised to take about 15 minutes for shower but I wasn't rushed. They also have ab amazing selection of retail.. I bought a great Yerba mate chocolate mint tea and magic matcha. Both were loved by me and friends. read more

I had done some floats before at another location and wasn't too impressed. When I walked into Float Seattle Bellevue location, I was instantly blown away. I believe it was Greg who was working and he was so kind and knowledgeable. He walked me through everything and let me know the benefits and how to get the most out of my float. When I finished floating (I was in the big tank and will continue to use the larger one due to being very claustrophobic) I felt refreshed, relaxed and at ease. I had a lot of pains and they subsided even if temporarily. I will definitely be back. I just wish it wasn't so expensive. read more

Float Seattle - Bellevue - Float Spa Near Me - Bellevue, Washington

A friend recommended I try using a float tank when I wasn't feeling 100 percent, so I immediately went on Groupon and found Float Bellevue. I bought the Groupon and then scheduled my first appointment that same day online (it was very easy to book, just follow the Groupon instructions). The parking complaints are no joke. There are four very compact spots under the building. You need to be on NE 12th heading towards 112th Ave to access the parking garage (look for a "P" for the entrance). If you can't find a spot or simply can't fit, there's parking at the library nearby or street parking if you can find it (and since you're in downtown Bellevue, you don't have to pay to park on the street). When I entered the Float Bellevue suite, I was greeted by a very friendly employee with a calm demeanor. Loved it! I didn't have any expectations, but I would have liked for the employee to share more information about float tanks when I told him it was my first time and that I didn't know anything about them. The float room was very minimal. There's a shower, bench, and the float tank itself. I put earplugs in before I showered, then I entered the float tank in the nude. The color in the water was yellow--not the most appealing color to get into when you see lighted blue and green colors in the ads. It didn't make a big difference to me though, just looked a little off. The tank lid opens and closes with a push, so you can never get trapped. There is a button inside the float tank to turn the light on/off and another to control music if it's part of your session (it's not part of the Groupon session). I'm only 5'2" but I could extend my arms out and touch both sides at the same time, and when I extended my arms above my head, I could touch either side as well. While I was floating, I continued to bump into the walls, which took away from the sensory deprivation experience. Maybe I wasn't floating right or doing the proper technique? No one told me how to float, so that could certainly be it. For a person who doesn't do yoga or meditate, I can't say a float tank was for me. It definitely made me feel relaxed. I was promised the best night of sleep after, though maybe it's just me, but I didn't feel any different. I can see this being a good form of therapy if you know how to meditate or are super stressed. And as silly as it sounds, I did get bored being in the float tank for an hour!  Once the float was over, the light comes on and music starts to play. I took a shower but was bummed there was no hair dryer. I get that the building needs to stay quiet, but I read that other float studios have lounges with these amenities. I expected something similar since I had somewhere to be after and was a little disappointed.  Overall, I think the business itself was lovely. Friendly employees, float tank, shower, yes. A little more education on how to float and optimize my time probably would have made this a better experience. I don't think float tanks are for me, but I still recommend that you try one if you haven't before. read more

I had a great experience this evening. I purchased 3 floats on Groupon and tried my first one out tonight. The place was very chill ... wish I could remember the name of the name girl who showed me the ropes but I spaced having been a little nervous. I chose to try it without music or light (you can turn the light on and off as you please) and it was a good experience. I can't say I went into some sort of trance or meditation but maybe in time. It's rare to find solitude ... no background noise, just peaceful. Tried this after a fellow back surgery/chronic pain friend told me about the benefits, both mental and physical. While floating, this was one of the rare times I felt no pain anywhere. There are neck cradles and pool noodles if you need extra support, and the person working (I can't remember her name, ugh) was super informative and helpful and answered a sea of questions. I've been going to Float Seattle in Bellevue for about a month now and am definitely a fan. I originally tried it out because I was hoping to get some relief from a pinched nerve, and ended up getting a membership after going a couple times. I do think it helped with my pinched nerve recovery, and it's just relaxing in general. Having an hour all to yourself where even your phone can't bug you is so nice. It took maybe two or three floats to get completely used to the whole experience - not in a bad way, it's just a different experience. The staff has been helpful and gave an introductory tour the first time we were there. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because of two things about the location. One, the parking spaces are small. It's convenient that they do have parking right there, but our mid-size suv barely squeezes into the spaces. Two, sometimes you can hear noise from the main building lobby during your float. One time, mid-float, a group of women started laughing in the lobby and the way it echoed through the walls and the float pod made it sound like the Ghost of Christmas Past was about to pop into the pod with me. Made me laugh a little bit myself once I realized I was not indeed about to be Ebenezer-ed. read more

Decided to come here to relieve my body at 7.5 months pregnant. I checked in and the staff member walked myself and the other new floater through the basics of what to expect and how to do it. I was in the bigger tank which was perfect for a pregnant or tall person or someone just looking for more room. Once you get into your room you shower and hop on in. There is an option to have a light on but the experience is much better if you turn off the lights. I suggest having the lights on and finding a good float position and then turning them off. Also, I wasn't at all claustrophobic, it was extremely relaxing. Once my session was over I could clearly hear the music (which signals the session is done) and I could hear it even with my ears under the water and earplugs in so no need to guess if the music comes on, you'll know. After that just shower again and you're done! I would recommend this place for sure and would come back just to relax in general, but it met my needs while pregnant as well. read more

I'm happy I got to try out Float Bellevue! It was a pleasant experience - very relaxing, quiet, and the world seemed to pause for a hot minute. The staff was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and engaged in their work. The space itself was really clean. You get your own room and can set all the preferences to your liking: music or no music, lights or pitch black, closed or open pod. I'm 5'11" and the pod seemed to be a perfect size. Overall, I'm not too into meditation, so it was hard for me to enjoy the full hour as I became a little restless. It felt a bit long but nonetheless I'm really happy I tried it. Pro tip: You'll want to take a full shower after as the salt water will get to your hair. They provide shampoo, conditioner & body wash but I brought my own preferred brands. Also make sure to hydrate following. Float Bellevue also provide towels, ear plugs, makeup remover wipes, q-tips, and Neosporin (to cover any cuts beforehand). read more

It is very relaxing to lay in one of these pods for an hour at a time in complete darkness and complete silence (or meditative music, if you so choose). A few weeks back we were first time floaters in Bellevue. As a relatively stressed out couple, we were excited to try something new for relaxation. Upon arrival to the Bellevue location, the entry is slightly strange, entering downstairs into the lobby. It felt slightly spa-like but overall was missing some typical "zen" elements from a true spa experience. The team member was friendly and helpful in explaining the process, as it was our first time. We both really hoped to have the chance to let our minds check out for the duration, however in the end neither of us felt that we could reach a state of full relaxation. Each experience is personal, so we can't say that you shouldn't give it a try yourself, just know that it may take some practice to get the full benefit. If you've never Floated before, you're definitely missing out! The Floating expirience is something you cannot describe to someone other than the simpleness of the approach. You lay in a pitch black tank filled less than two feet of salt water so dense that its impossible to sink. Then you lay there. You just lay in the dark and step into the ether that is your being. My experiences have been ethereal, relaxing, meditative and sometimes painful and tough as you work through the painful "stuff" you forgot was there. Definitely not for the feint-hearted. Floating is extremely therapeutic. I bought a groupon/living social voucher for 3 floats. I used 2 already. For my first float I couldn't fully drift off. I was a bit restless...the last one I did was in 2015 so it had been awhile. The second float was much better I almost fell asleep!! I could feel my muscles relaxing and tension leaving my body. After doing a float at another location, I was hooked. I saw Float Bellevue pop up on Groupon, and decided to buy one for myself and another for my boyfriend. We were easily able to schedule appointments, didn't have to book too far out. Our appointments were for 5:30pm on a Saturday night. The place isn't too easy to find, as there isn't like a big sign or anything out front. It's like in an apartment complex, kinda weird. It's across the street from the Bellevue Library. There is a parking garage located below/behind the complex. I can't remember the guys name (sorry), but the guy that greeted us upon arrival was very nice. Checking in was an easy process. The waiting area is decent sized, one couch to lounge on before/after floating. They have some supplements for sale across from the front desk. The lobby area had such a relaxing smell... I love the smell of these places, reminds me of the ocean cause of all the salt. There are 4 rooms with pods. Each room also has a rain shower. They provide shampoo, soap, conditioner, vaseline (to put on cuts - salt STINGS), ear plugs, towels and inside of the pod there is a spray bottle with fresh water (salt in your eyes isn't very pleasant either). The guy from the desk walked us through the before and after process of the floats, and explained different ways to lay, and we were ready to go! So. Relaxing. I suggest being in complete silence and darkness for the best experience. Felt so good afterward, very calm and relaxed. It is totally something worth trying at least once. After floating half a dozen times in their Seattle location, I learned that they were exploring opening an eastside location. Today I floated in their new location in Bellevue and I am very excited to have them so close to home and work. I've floated in five different facilities in the Seattle area over the last 20 years and Float Seattle, and now Float Bellevue, are truly outstanding. The facilities are excellent, but the people are what make the most difference to me. All of the staff I've met have a genuine passion for floating and have seemed sincerely interested in making sure I had the best experience possible. Their customer service is outstanding and I've never felt pressured or like I'm being sold to, the way I have at other facilities. Very beginner friendly! My friend and I had never floated before and wanted to try something new. The staff member was extremely helpful, explaining the float process and what to expect. First you shower, to get excess oils off of your body. Definitely put your earplugs (provided) in before you wash off, or they won't form as strong of a seal. Some people don't use them, but I didn't want too much salt to get in my ear. The actual float experience was very special! The feeling of weightlessness was very relaxing and I just let my mind drift. As someone who does not mediate, the 1 hour float time felt long, but wasn't too much. Once your time is up, soft music starts playing and the lights in the pod slowly come on. You rinse off in the shower again, and you're good to go! I was surprised how relaxed I felt for the rest of the day! It was a very positive experience -- one I would personally save for special occasions, rather than do regularly. read more

Just finished my first float at Float Bellevue and I am so relaxed. I have floated a couple of times at Float Seattle and this place is a classy addition to the experience. It's minimalist like the Seattle location, but in a different way. Similar theme, but fits Bellevue better. The new float pods are so cool. It's all the same when you're laying in the dark, but waking in and seeing a beautiful glowing float pod is where the relaxation begins. The staff person was great, facilities are clean, the experience was top-notch. Another customer was getting out of another float room as I was getting out of mine and we agreed that this was a great float experience.
