Buses were on time and the drivers friendly. Not too crowded so it was easy to find window seat.

I showed up with my ticket and reservation # but the Flix Driver would not let me board.I called customer service and while I was on the phone he drove off! So I spent an extra $5 to get to San Jose from San Francisco, now I'm waiting on an Amtrak bus that's gonna get me to Santa Barbara about 4 hours later than my reservation. Wtf???!!! read more

Evening trip to Tucson during storm!!! This was probably one of the best trips I have had taking the bus!!! The bus was on time, had Air conditioning, WiFi and was $22 bucks. I love to take flix bus. Most of the time they are super easy and relaible. However, their cancelation policy and refund policy gives no grace. One time I took them, the bus was delayed an hour without any updates being sent. Didnt get to my destination until almost 2am. They wouldnt even give me a partial refund. Another time, i missed my bus because THEIR tracker said the bus was delayed...turns out it wasnt. And I even provided them with proof that I wasnt able to make the bus and the tracker showed delayed on my end...no refund. Lastly, recently I was taking a bus after a flight. My flight got delayed, but I had no access to internet to be able to cancel my bus before I missed it. And they still wouldnt allow me a refund. I understand agreeing to terms and conditions at time of ticket purchase. However, they dont have any sympathy or allow for any refund in situations that are uncontrollable to me. The lack of care this comapy has for their riders is crazy. When you arent understanding about situations, it doesn't make me want to book through the company again! One star is very generous here. Last three times I've booked with Flix, they've cancelled with NO notification. You'd expect that to happen from time to time with a cheap company, but it's to the point now where you're more likely to have a cancelled trip than a fulfilled one. Some things to note: - . They say that they'll refund you for any alternative transportation, but it will take about three months of you having to constantly email someone and jump through hoops. They tell you to submit all of your banking information on their website, but then again they'll email you and say "you also have to send it over email." This is an non-secure, unencrypted email, by the way, and after you've already sent the sensitive info over their website which apparently goes nowhere! - Horrible bus stop locations. No signs indicating where the stop is. The one in West Phoenix is literally in an unlit alleyway behind a Walgreens (where there were four people in the bushes shooting up heroin!) - They take zero accountability for anything. I once waited at the West Phoenix stop for over an hour and a half because they assured me that the bus was just running late. The third time I called, it turned out the bus was half way to Tucson! They said the bus driver didn't update his tracking and also didn't pick me up because "he didn't know where the stop was" - not even kidding. This is my opinion only. I am not telling you not to use them. But you will age ten years if you do!!! 1. NOBODY should ever use Flixbus. I have used them twice. Last time was worse. 2. You MAY have one good experience but your second and third will be full of delays, cancellations, and rude drivers. Just read all the one-star reviews and you will get the idea. Nobody is lying. This could and will happen to you. Are you willing to deal with their last-minute cancellations, late arrivals, Vouchers instead of cashback, and a 50% cancellation fee to change your ticket? PLUS all their ridiculous hidden policies. Are you willing to potentially miss your plane or your trip because the bus gets canceled, just not show up, or show up and leave early? (think of the stress). Is it worth it? Think of the money you may have to spend to correct their egregious business practices if you have to book a flight. Is it worth it? Flixbus customer service can only do so much. They are located in India, the Philippines, and other countries. Although they are always courteous if you can understand them-- There is no upper management to talk with. This is the way it is don't pull your hair out expecting more. I went from Tucson to Las Vegas. They canceled my trip 24 hours in advance. I Had to book another trip. The bus arrived on time and everything went as planned. But I was placed on a Greyhound Bus in Phoenix. Flix bus to Phoenix, 2-hour layover, and from Tucson to Phoenix to Flagstaff to get to Las Vegas. All seats were open so what's the point of paying for a seat? MY return Trip was canceled less than 8 hours before leaving Vegas. I re-scheduled for 1 day later but I had a fear that they may cancel again and couldn't risk being stranded and homeless in Vegas or having to get on a 20-hour Flixbus that went to L.A. back to Tucson AZ So I bought a plane ticket on American Airlines. Flixbus is in Partnership with Greyhound. I can't compare Flixbus to anything because I have never experienced anything like it. They are irresponsible and take no accountability for their actions. They are not trustworthy and because of that, I would avoid them. On a positive note: I received a credit for my return trip on my credit card. I must have talked with the right person. Took the FlixBus from flagstaff to Tucson and back, on the way there is was a great ride no issues, very safe, etc. on the way back was a different story, til the beginning of the ride when he scanned our tickets, very strict, rude. Gets on the bus with a low amount of people stopped in Phoenix few more people get off and then stop at our last stop before heading back to flagstaff. One guy in particular was sitting directly behind me sleeping the whole time was accused of vaping/smoking and the bus driver had claimed there are cameras throughout the whole bus but refused to look at them or answer any questions about them or in fact any question at all. There was a total of about 20-25 people I believe. The bus driver had yelled across the bus (i had my noise cancelling headphones on with music blasting) and I jumped up to see what he was yelling about and he was talking about the guy directly behind me. Keep in mind every single person had someone sitting behind, infront, or across (beside) them so no one would've gotten away with vaping or smoking. The driver had claimed that he could smell the smell of the vape/smoke at the front, and that his throat was burning but no body else could smell it not even me and I was sitting directly infront of him. He stopped 1.5 hours south of flagstaff in sunset point started yelling at the guy that he needs to get off the bus and that if he wasn't he was gonna call the cops. He called the police and he had noticed some cops and state troopers down the busy highway, walked down there and there was a total of 4 law enforcement vehicles as well as around 4-5 cops. They came in the bus and kept telling all the passengers for someone to fess up who was smoking/vaping. The bus driver refused to leave or drive the bus anywhere, he had also claimed that the cops had smelled his shirt and it smelled like weed but when one of the customers smelled his shirt it didn't smell like anything, he then left everyone in the bus for a good 45 minutes unattending the bus with the key in the ignition. He came in the bus a good probably 5 times every time saying the same thing that he's not moving the bus and that someone needs to fess up not just saying it but in fact yelling it. We were sitting there for a good 1.5 hours. I had been picked up at 1:45pm that day and was supposed to arrive at my destination at 6:30pm but didn't get to flagstaff until around 9pm. Keep in mind there are young college kids as well as foreigners and one mother with an autistic child that he just left in the middle of nowhere in the bus on a busy freeway. When my ride had picked me up (as well as taking 6 other passengers) the bus driver was standing out side very dramatically coughing and forcing himself to gag claiming he was high, saying he would've killed everyone in the bus if he were to cough and possibly swerved. I believe every single passenger including myself had called FlixBus customer service and they refused to give any sort of refund nothing! The bus driver said that they were sending another driver out and would've been another 90 minutes so it wouldn't have been until around 9-9:30ish until they would leave to head to flagstaff and wouldn't arrive until 10:30-11ish. Moral of the story is he was very rude and accused a paying customer of something he didn't do and the company is refusing to give anyone their money back and he was very rude. Not very reliable company. You can book it but don't plan on it....... I reserved travel on 27 November 2022. Outbound trip, Tucson to Phoenix airport. Less than 24 hours before my 14 February 2023 departure, they notified me that I had been bumped off of the 7:15AM bus and put on a 6:45AM bus. I paid for a seat with my reservation. They did not provide me a seat assignment on the 6:45AM bus. Return trip, Phoenix airport to Tucson. On 6 January 2023, they notified me that they had cancelled the 11:30AM bus I had reserved. The next bus departed at 4:30PM: a 5 hour delay. I cancelled this leg and booked the shuttle. read more

The times that I've ridden the bus have been fine--driver was nice and friendly. Unfortunately, I've had more busses canceled than I've ridden. Two times it was after the bus was already supposed to have arrived: one time I got stuck in Phoenix for 7 hours missing my class and one time missing the entire workshop I took the day off of work to attend. This time at least the bus was canceled in advance, but there are not any other buses available for the days I was traveling, so now I have to decide if I should still try to attend the event and spend way more on the shuttle or just not attend. BEWARE! 1 (855) 626-8585. Copy it, because you'll be searching for that number, while you wait for the ghost bus that is destroying your day and plans. I have used the FLIX bus four times. Sure, it's way cleaner than the greyhound, and doesn't smell of funk. You get intermittent wifi for your trip, and they usually are only 1-4 times as expensive as their quotes. They surge their prices, by the way, and i have heard, that each bus driver can decide if they want to drive a bus, based on how many passengers they will be paid for, kind of uber style, i guess... They pick you up... (MAYBE... more on that in a sec) at the UofA and on Speedway and the Freeway at the AMPM. Two of the four times i have used FLIX, they were over 45 minutes late. When finally picked up, the driver will look directly through you, and not acknowledge anything was wrong at all. Never offering an apology or reason, or... anything. I saw people miss flights. I saw people miss appointments... I saw people tired, and once, pretty cold. The app said, the ENTIRE time, that the bus was on schedule. The third time i used it, it came AND left, that same half hour early. That time, when we got to the AMPM in Tucson, the driver just told a man, who was waiting for his daughter, that she would be able to pay for another bus, since she had missed her scheduled bus, and though he couldn't tell him when that next bus would be, she MIGHT just be on it, and he was super sure that probably another bus was coming, that night. It was pretty late, by that time. The fourth, and the last... The FLIX bus just never came at all. App said bus was on schedule. When i called, along side, the other seven people, calling, we were told in a prim, lovely accented voice, that "Lately, we have beeen answeriing the phoone in thiertee fieve mienutes." They did not. Answer in thirty five minutes. Or ever. Or respond to my email or my request for a refund. At all. At the time when the bus was an hour and twenty nine minutes late, i called Arizona Shuttle, or Groome, as it is now called. They were leaving the UofA Wildcat metra on 6th, and took my reservation as i ran full track racer, from the FLIX pick up to the market. Another girl was sobbing, as she was going to miss her flight, from Skyharbor. I dragged her with me, and when we arrived, the driver was loading up. He allowed the other girl to board and pay with her credit card, on the way, so that we would both have a better chance to get where we were going on time. Seriously, it doesn't really matter if the bus is clean, you can get on social media or charge your phone, if YOU MISS A FLIGHT... or something else. It's been several days, and all i got for my $30 supposed ride from Tucson to Phoenix, are crickets chirping, a darn good sprint, and reason to believe that i could maybe win, at the reality show, The Amazing Race. read more

horrible lol. they'll sell more tickets than available seats and then cancel your trip two days beforehand. they'll allow you to reschedule or refund. reschedules two days before departure are always more money IF there's any availability left. if you want a refund it's voucher credit only- they'll tell you you can refund to your bank account but you have to fill out a contract form to send in. customer service is chat only and they literally have no idea what they're doing and will just give you the run around. read more

I am writing this review averaging two experiences. First, the many times we have used Flixbus - my daughter and I multiple times to and from PHX airport and Tucson, and my husband from Riverside to Tucson, the experience has been 4-5 stars. The bus has been clean and comfy and a pleasant experience all the way around. Tonight, I would give it no stars, so the average would actually be a 2 - 2.5 with the rating I gave for the actual bus ride experience we've had and the zero for their customer service. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. We booked three tickets for my husband and two young children to ride from Riverside, CA to Tucson, AZ for Mar. 20th. When we booked we paid extra to choose seats so we could sit together. They wno couldn't let us buy an additional seat like they usually offer to not have someone sit in the empty seat next to one of the seats we bought. So, immediately we logged back on to buy that seat and it was supposedly taken. I got on chat four times, the first three times I was disconnected after each chat rep said they couldn't do anything about it. The last rep said the same thing and I asked why he couldn't help me buy that one seat so nobody sat next to my kid since the two seats were row seven and one in row 6. He was just rude. Told me he just couldn't help me, no changes could be made and I had to cancel it and rebook. I asked him if he could tell me if seat 6A was taken and if not if he could just help me buy it before anyone else did and he said it wasn't possible. HOW is that not possible? I asked for the number three times to speak to a human and he finally gave it to me and when I told him I was in the US and the number he gave me was the only number as they had no separate US customer service. When I asked to speak to his manager or supervisor he said he didn't have one, so unless he owned the company, he was just being a jerk. I logged on to cancel and rebook and now they want to charge me a cancellatio fee instead of give me a credit voucher to use to rebook with four seats. What the heck? I've now been on hold to their supposed twenty four hour help line for fifteen minutes. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. read more

Showed up at the east-side stop 15 minutes early as instructed. Waited until 10 minutes AFTER the bus was schedule to leave and received an email that the trip was cancelled. Rebooked for a different route that went to the same place (Tempe), leaving from the university. Raced across town to catch that bus. It actually showed up! Drove us to the freeway and then stopped. Mechanical issue. Now I'm sitting on this godforsaken bus waiting for the driver to attempt to fix a coolant issue. It is 1 hour after the bus was scheduled to depart from the university. 2 hours after our original east-side departure time. I highly doubt this driver will be able to fix the mechanical issue using the screwdriver he just bought from the gas station, but here I wait because there isn't another option. This company destroys plans, and ruins. If you have anything important or time-sensitive in your travel plans (a flight, for example), you need to find another way. Flix bus cannot be relied upon. I read the other reviews and thought it wouldn't happen to me. I have nobody but myself to blame. Please, save yourself. Make other arrangements. Do not travel with Flix. read more

I read a few of the reviews on here after the trip I took up to Phoenix. Thank God I didn't see them at first because my experience was decent. The bus showed up in time and the ride was really smooth and comfortable. My only complaint was, I tripped on the steps going up and my shin was bleeding pretty bad. The driver who was on a different route than usual didn't seem to know where the first aid kit was. However, due to all the virus - - at least I had alcohol rub and a napkin in my purse. Furthermore, the driver was an international. He was incredibly friendly but he wouldn't stop talking. I had a book and was relaxing and enjoying the bus ride off to meet a friend of mine. I finally politely told him I was reading when I didn't answer his constant banter. But all in all, my experience was pretty good. Thank God it didn't get canceled because I was going to meet somebody as I'm sure everybody has deadlines or appointments. 10 minutes before the bus was supposed to arrive to drive me to the Phoenix airport from Tucson, the trip was canceled. I was refunded my $11 but had to pay $150 for an uber to get me to my plane on time. I would have had to pay $400 to change my flight. All other flixbuses were "full". They probably overbooked and decided to skip my stop. All other transportation services were full and flixbus customer service kept hanging up. I just booked my first trip with flixbus. I am beyond disappointed. My trip is coming up in 4 days and I just received a text message that says my bus was canceled. I followed the link to get a refund and after urging me to get a voucher instead of a refund I still requested a refund but they're charging me a service fee. How can you take my reservation, cancel my bus, and then charge me a cancellation fee? I called the customer service number and the lady told me I would need to send them an email with any questions. When I told her that was unacceptable to charge me a service charge on a cancellation that they did, she hung up on me. Bus arrived on time and was clean and tidy . I took the phoenix to tucson and only hang ups were : -waiting in a sketchy location -expect to arrive around 5-10 minutes if there is another stop along the same route and somone needs to stop there (in our case Tempe) Other than that a pleasant experience and a Bilingual bus driver (spanish) for 18 dollars per ticket with cushioned seats and only being at Half capacity . I had no problem with this company until about November 2022. Now they have become very shady and they will cancel a reservation and put you on a bus that there's no way for you to even get to. They make you pay extra to try to get on some other bus from where you are. My son had reservations from the University of Arizona, and now, without warning they have changed him to going out of the greyhound bus station. Since no one answers the chat line and there's no US a phone line that I can find, I had to pay extra, again, to find him a bus ride from the college. This happened one other time and I thought it was a fluke but now I realize they are scamming people. This was the worst service I've experienced from the location to the delays. I had booked a ticket to get to Phoenix airport from Tucson with the cheaper price as an appealing factor than taking a shuttle. First, the departure location is unmarked and in a sketchy location - random gas station/store off the road. Second, the bus was delayed by 70 minutes but no email notification was sent and when I tried calling the company, the line disconnected each time I tried to reach a representative. In the end, I ended up taking an uber to the airport, which honestly felt safer. Overall, poor service and would not recommend to others. read more

They returned money for that leg, but not the return leg since I had to drive and leave my car at the airport I didn't need the trip back. Booked 3 tickets for my son and two friends from Phoenix to Las Vegas. Pickup was supposed to be from North Phoenix near Desert Ridge at 12:40am for a red-eye bus ride arriving in Vegas at approx. 7:30am. The bus did not show up until nearly 3:30am. Two calls into customer service during the delay. On the first call, at 2:03am, I was told the bus had already left Sky Harbor airport and was on the way. In my second call at 2:30pm, I was told that the bus had broken down, and a replacement bus would be there in 20 minutes, and all the passengers had been notified. None of my group were contacted by Flix Bus until after 3am. When the bus did finally arrive, the wifi did not work, and there were no places to charge your phone or devices, two of the high profile features that the company promotes as a point of differentiation from their competitors. Online research I have conducted since have revealed many similar negative experiences. Based purely on our first experience with Flixbus, and the online evidence that our experience is typical of many other users of Flixbus, I would rate the service at a 2-star level out of 5. The only positives were that they did finally come through after a nearly 3-hour delay for the pickup and delivered our group safely to Las Vegas 7 hours later, and they are cheaper than nearly all other travel options. The overall negative is that the rosy picture that they paint on their website about high-tech buses appears to be largely over-sold if not completely inaccurate. Their punctuality was at worst, horrible, but understand that breakdowns do occur. At the very least, their communication during the breakdown was pitiful, and during my phone calls, the customer service supervisor was never once available to speak to. To say that I was not impressed would be an obvious understatement. The description of their service online, and their fares are almost too good to be true. My experience pushes me from "almost" to "likely", and refreshes several Caveat Emptor cliche's like "if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is" and "you get what you pay for". We'll see how my son's return leg from Vegas goes before I decide whether I would entertain giving them another chance. read more

I lost a bag on the flix bus and it's been three weeks. I never get my phone calls returned and still haven't gotten my luggage. It's apparently in L.A. and I'm in Tucson. The overall experience was HORRIBLE! They make it sound so luxurious when in all actuality it was so bad. I was touching legs with the person next to me and the whole bus was jam packed with crying babies and people talking on their phones. I would not recommend taking flix bus to anyone.
