For a city the size of Tucson, this is a pretty pathetic public transportation service. Rude drivers who threaten to go on strike every month, weirdos on the bus, awkward schedules that are incompatible with other bus lines, no shelters in the hot sun for most stops and no viable discount passes for anyone. They don't run often either, the depots are packed with thugs and creeps, have broken cameras, no lighting at night and old guards who sit inside a glass sphere with no clue about dangers to those waiting. They offer sugar soda machines instead of water, restrooms are a haven for diseases (they have no place to wash your hands), have no canopy for shade or rain & growl if you ask them a bloody question. Buses are usually late if they even show up so toss your schedule away. Fails on ALL accounts. They should study San Francisco's transportation service to learn something. Sun Tran is a bad joke on Tucson like its politicians.

The buses are never on time. I'm always late to work all the time. You should have a separate bus for the homeless people

It worked well for me using the GoTuscon Transit app to buy tickets. I explored 4th Avenue and found my way to the Convention Center and other gem show shuttle hubs from stops on the streetcar line. Very clean, often with fare enforcers who will scan your ticket. I don't give it more than 4 stars because when there aren't fare enforcers on the streetcar it is not clear how to scan ticket from the app. Overall very user friendly public transportation. For the gem show I parked near University Blvd & 6th, unrestricted street parking, walking a few blocks to board at the stop near Epic Cafe.

That's fine, but you'd think the ticket kiosk would at least allow folks to purchase one way tickets, monthly passes, etc. nope! Just a full day passes are Available. I love the idea that the SunLink connects locals to five districts: Mercado, Downtown, 4th Avenue, Main Gate Square & UOfA. After trying to use the Tucson "Modern" Streetcar since its debut, I've concluded that he hours of operation need improvement. Additionally, they don't make it easy to buy a ticket. The machines regularly run out of tickets, or they give you tickets that don't work. This often leads to an embarrassing exchange with the Fare Enforcements officers. To make matters worse, loading them online is even more complicated. Sure.... I'll Drive east to Alvernon to a Frys supermarket to buy a pass. Yep.....That makes a whole lot of sense.

Security keeps the doors locked, which I appreciated -- it definitely added to the feeling of safety. There's a good variety of snack machines, including one for mobile accessories, which is super convenient if you're traveling and forgot a charger or headphones. Bonus points for the cute blow-up bear for Valentine's Day -- a small touch, but it made the space feel welcoming. Overall, a solid and comfortable station experience.

We had a 6:25 bus for a college aged family member to get back to NAU from down south. Checked the status before we left south Sierra Vista "On Time". Show up 6:00AM. 6:15... no bus. 6:20... no bus. Check the app: "On-Time". But this time we check the bus's location... "it's in El Paso?". No... that can't be right. The bus can't possibly be over 4 hours away. It says "on time" and we haven't gotten any delay notification. Call 1800 number. Get told it's on time. Call BS as it's already 10 minutes past pickup. Try again. Oh it's behind, you'll need to wait. How long? "We don't know." Then I got on the phone "Where is the bus?" "Oh my system just updated... it's 364 minutes behind schedule" my fellow yelpers: that's 6+ hours late... but multiple systems say it's "on time". They knew this bus was already 4 hours late before we left our house at 5AM. They chose not to tell us. Why? I'm guessing it's their refund policy. They won't refund unless a bus is more than 2 hours behind. If *you* reschedule or cancel before then: no refund. Even if you miss a connection. Even if you're going to sleep at a bus stop. They won't refund. And if you want a refund with the "agent" all they can do is give you a voucher. You want a real refund? You have to go online and "ask" for it and wait several days. I had to drive the family member to phoenix to catch another service. 8 hours of my day burnt. We are going to just go the small claims route. They can see us in middle of nowhere AZ justice court or we will take default judgement.

I appreciate her patience and knowledge very much and hope to stay at the Inn on my next trip to Tucson. There are so many options when you come to a large city. I believe the people are what make the difference when choosing where to stay. Amy definitely made me feel welcome and she became a fast friend. Kasey was extremely welcoming and friendly and made a great first impression. While unpacking and exploring the inn, my daughter and I met another employee named Amy, an older woman who seemed off-putting from the start. As time went on, Amy's behavior became increasingly inappropriate and uncomfortable. Amy repeatedly overshared personal information and made several troubling comments. Amy told us that she was a witch and a pagan and described how she disliked a coworker named Shay (whom Amy referred to as "they/them") so much that Amy took a photo of Shay, burned it, and froze it in order to "freeze them away." Amy spoke negatively about Shay, claiming Shay locked Amy out of the office, was passive-aggressive, and was trying to make Amy quit. Amy also made disparaging remarks about the owners of the inn, referring to them as "Bible thumpers," and then commented that my daughter and I did not seem like that type of people. Amy went on to share extremely personal and inappropriate details about her life, including graphic stories about her ex-husband cheating on her with prostitutes, her chronic back pain, and other topics that guests should not be subjected to. Amy told us that she had once been pulled over and attempted to avoid a ticket by telling the police officer that she was having a miscarriage. Amy also stated that she was a 1099 employee and that the owner does not pay insurance or taxes for employees and refuses to fire people. Amy behaved very dramatically at times, including expressing concern that an elderly man who appeared healthy was having a medical emergency when he was simply bending over and stretching. Amy frequently complained about coworkers, including saying that Kasey had made the breakfast casserole incorrectly the night before, then later telling my daughter that Amy herself had made it and that it was good. Amy also incorrectly accused me of using the espresso machine improperly and placing the pod in incorrectly, when Amy was the one who had inserted it incorrectly. The inn itself is absolutely gorgeous, and the history behind it is amazing. I truly would love to stay again, but after how wildly uncomfortable Amy made both me and my daughter, I am unsure how comfortable I would feel returning with amy being there.

Update as of 9/19/2018:…read more This update in review is thanks to the terrible experience I had with this company during my recent trip. My flight arrived on schedule and I barely had to wait 10minutes for my bag. That's where I ran out of luck. Granted it's not much, I walked the length of the Tucson airport, convinced I was missing something as I couldn't find the Stagecoach airport kiosk that was always there during past visits. I found a phone number on the email confirmation of my reservation and was pleasantly surprised when a real person answered the call immediately and asked where I was waiting in the airport and told me to stay put ( in front of baggage claim) and inquired what I was wearing so as to convey to the driver who would meet me in 5minutes. Well the "5minutes" turned to 1.5 HOURS... during which I made multiple calls to this number inquiring about the whereabouts of the driver who was to meet me. What was most infuriating was the fact that on my last call, the person answering the phone HUNG up on me, the minute I identified myself... never have I received such poor customer support... Finally when I saw a stagecoach vehicle pull up across the street, I walked over to it and inquired to the driver. He asked me to please go back into the airport. By then there was quite a few others also waiting - in another part of the airport. The driver called the company to ask if he can take us to the hotel as we were all attending the same conference at a local hotel. And while clarifying the names of the customers he had with him, he clearly said I was the customer waiting for over an hour as he left early on his previous trip. And even after saying this aloud much to the shock of not just me, but all our fellow passengers, there was not even the slightest hint of an apology!! It was incredibly frustrating to know that this driver and whoever he was talking to knew fully well that they left a passenger waiting at the airport and nobody had the basic courtesy to inform me that the next shuttle will be over 1.5 hours out. If they had at least conveyed an accurate ETA for the next shuttle, I could have grabbed a quick bite and used the restroom at the airport... instead I was left hanging. I only wanted to cancel my reservation and get an uber to my destination and even that was not possible as I could get a hold of them to cancel my booking. After reaching my destination, I had to call them multiple times every day for THREE days straight, before I received my refund. Never will I make the mistake of using this company and will highly recommend NOT using their unreliable services to anyone hoping to reach their destination on time.

Rather than selecting your own departure time, Groome assigns you a departure time based on your flight departure, allowing for plenty of extra buffer time. If you're the type of person that does not like to spend any extra time waiting for a ride or in the airport, Groome may not be the best for you as they dropped me a good two hours in advance of my flight departure. That being said, if you like having a chance to visit the airport lounge or grab a bite to eat at the terminal, Groome could be perfect for you. I arrived to the pick up spot about 10 minutes before my scheduled departure time and ended up waiting until about 15 minutes or so after the scheduled time. They do have a primitive trailer with air conditioning to escape the Arizona heat. Take note that they have multiple rides every single day so the van already at the pick up spot may not be your ride. Be sure to check with the driver before getting in. When the van finally arrived, they checked everyone in and made sure to do a final head count before departing. The van itself was fairly spacious and comfortable. About an hour and a half later, we were at the airport! Overall, no complaints. I would do this again.
