No issues here! I needed a ride from Tucson to the Phoenix airport (PHX) and was able to easily reserve a ride a couple of days in advance online. Rather than selecting your own departure time, Groome assigns you a departure time based on your flight departure, allowing for plenty of extra buffer time. If you're the type of person that does not like to spend any extra time waiting for a ride or in the airport, Groome may not be the best for you as they dropped me a good two hours in advance of my flight departure. That being said, if you like having a chance to visit the airport lounge or grab a bite to eat at the terminal, Groome could be perfect for you. I arrived to the pick up spot about 10 minutes before my scheduled departure time and ended up waiting until about 15 minutes or so after the scheduled time. They do have a primitive trailer with air conditioning to escape the Arizona heat. Take note that they have multiple rides every single day so the van already at the pick up spot may not be your ride. Be sure to check with the driver before getting in. When the van finally arrived, they checked everyone in and made sure to do a final head count before departing. The van itself was fairly spacious and comfortable. About an hour and a half later, we were at the airport! Overall, no complaints. I would do this again. read more

I have used the Groome shuttle to PHX from Tucson about 6 times in the last 15 years, most recently last weekend. They are incredibly punctual - our driver on the return trip waited until the exact second they were supposed to depart the terminals. I have had one case where we returned late, but that was because there was a serious accident on I-10 and the driver had no choice but to take a detour around Casa Grande. Most of the drivers have been exceedingly friendly and polite, but I've had one or two that have been a bit "gruff", hence the 4-star rating. If you take a shuttle between PHX and TUS you will likely save time and money over taking a short flight, but that stretch of I-10 can have brutal traffic issues. Delays can happen. read more

This is the alternate to air travel from and to Phoenix , Az. The air travel time is 23 minutes and this is 2 hours if no problems on the 10 freeway. Plus no bathroom breaks. A concern to me. But they will return you to your Airline departure drop. This was my sister n laws choice of travel to visit. Apparently, the price of Air for the same circuit Was too much. I was scheduled for an 1130 pm shuttle. It is midnight. I have no ride here, cannot contact anyone at groome, have received zero notice of any delay to even find out if I am stranded overnight in Phoenix because nothing runs out of Phoenix again until the morning. I don't know how long to keep waiting for a shuttle. HORRIBLE. Update: after two hours, I decided to sit inside the airport and wait for the next scheduled shuttle to arrive and hope they would let me board since my shuttle never showed up. I am a female travelling alone, and just have to stay awake all night in the airport. Hotels aren't available any longer because it's 130 in the morning. Three shuttles with groome marketing arrived, nobody could contact dispatch of any kind to tell me if my shuttle was cancelled, delayed, rebooked, anything. If I'd received ANY communication today about an issue i could have made other arrangements. Instead I am completely stranded with zero communication overnight. It is 221 am. My shuttle was scheduled at 11:30 pm. I sat at the intercity shuttle until 130 am. I spoke to a total of 3 groome shuttle drivers who said they were "sure it was coming". This has been a complete nightmare, I used to regularly use groome and recommend it and I'll now be sure to let people know to NEVER utilize them unless you have no other choice. It's about a 50-50 chance of a positive or negative experience with Groome. I've ridden with them about six or seven times. Sometimes you meet friendly drivers with good energy. They are usually on time, with some delays up to 30 minutes in my experience. Other times the driver seems to be in a bad mood. I recommend hiring drivers who exercise patience and common kindness. Spending hours in a van/shuttle is much better with caring people. More kindness and goodwill can definitely help customer service as well! read more

You could improve your service by not canceling your shuttles because they only have two people on them. Transferring people to the next shuttle does not always work. You might think it doesn't matter because people going from Phoenix to Tucson aren't USUALLY catching a flight. I guess that makes us dispensable. What you did was extraordinarily inconvenient for me for many reasons that I will not go into now, but one of them was my ground transportation in Tucson, which I no longer had because you put me on a different Shuttle. When you charge over $50 one-way for a shuttle from Tucson to Sky Harbor, it's June and over 90 degrees, turn on your air conditioning to a comfortable setting. There's no reason why passengers should need to suffer the sweltering heat!!! Do better, Groome, do better. I reserved a ride from Phoenix Sky Harbor to a Tucson drop-off location outside of the city. I scheduled and paid an additional fee to be driven between the drop off point and my home. The shuttle was more than 30 minutes late to the Phoenix departure location. The van seating was tighter than airplane seating, and my knees were pushed up against the seat in front of me for two hours. By the time we reached the Tucson location, it was dark. The car that was supposed to take me home was not there. The van driver called the office and from his end of the conversation I gathered that the office scheduler didn't know I had scheduled a ride home. When he hung up he said a driver would be there in 30 minutes. The staff member at the office refused to stay and allow me to wait inside the office. I was stuck outside alone, after dark, in the middle of an empty parking lot, between the freeway and the open desert. I was forced to wait 30 minutes in an unsafe location for a car that I wasn't entirely certain was going to show up. I paid for safe and comfortable transportation. The unsafe conditions, discomfort of the ride, and poor service in general did not live up to the reviews I had read prior to booking the trip or the amount of money I paid. I emailed the company and received a response: "I am sorry you were unhappy with the service you received." Because of the lack of concern for my safety, discomfort of the ride, and the poor service overall, I cannot recommend this company. The company could have gone a long way toward avoiding my one star rating and this review if they had handled their customer service follow up differently. read more

ZERO STARS Nicky couldn't execute changing my reservation ACCURATELY -I made a simple change from 7:45 AM Friday to SAME TIME ON monday. Couldn't handle it. Then I show up 30 minutes early to the Tiffany loop location so plenty of time....and OFFICE IS CLOSED - no way to check in! THEN the shuttle is 30 minutes late!!!!! We made the plans to fly into PHX and take the shuttle to TUS and it seemed easy enough. I paid ahead of time and had it all set up and was great. This was until our flight plans changed and there are no refunds only credits that are good for a year. Well I live in Hawaii so that option wasn't very viable. So we had to suffer and fly a non direct route after all. This was actually the only crappy part of the trip. The van was a little late but that was due to traffic but after that the van driver was good and friendly and got us to Tucson safe. If you need the shuttle make sure you are definitely in need because no refunds. Again unfortunate but what can you do, we would definitely use the service again. read more

Please DO NOT use this company if you absolutely don't have to!! I signed up for a pick-up at my house in Marana, AZ to go to the Phoenix airport. My flight was at 11:30, was told to be ready at 6:45. Finally was picked up at 7:15, only to be told I was going to be dropped off at their nearest office to wait for another van, which would be along in about 20 minutes! Oh, I forgot to mention I had to wait outside because the office didn't open until 10:00!! I guess I wouldn't have minded so much, except it was about 99degrees out & I am a senior. The second van was late, driver got out, never said one word...nothing, but they are so quick to send you texts, to give tips! On my round-trip ride back home turned out to be one more disaster. Was told to go out side, in Phoenix - 116 degrees to wait for the van, which turned out to be 45 minutes late!!! I did get a text saying they were running late due heavy traffic, but when another driver pulled up & I asked him where was my driver, he responded so rude, I actually was a little dumbfounded how lacking in customer service this company has! And there is no communication to the customers to they let them know anything!! Next time I will take an Uber! read more

I would give 6 stars if I could. I live in Tempe and took a shuttle from Phoenix SkyHarbor Airport to Sedona for a wilderness day trip. I caught the 7:45 AM shuttle on a Saturday and my driver, Tony, picked me up early and dropped me off on time. Tony gave us a bathroom stop at a truck stop, kept it moving, and treated me and the other passenger with dignity, professionalism and respect. He even knew a back route to avoid traffic, as the main thoroughfare into town is "put put" on weekends and sometimes bleeding into Mondays and Thursdays. Thank you Brother Tony! Well done. My second driver, David, picked me up on time after a magical day exploring the Red Rock country wilderness courtesy of Cathedral Rock E-Bike Rentals, located right across the street from the pick-up/drop-off spot. I was the first pickup on the last shuttle back to Phoenix Airport. David told me from the jump that there were multiple crashes on I-17, that other vans were stuck in traffic, and that his dispatcher directed him to take an alternate route to the airport even though google/apple maps would direct us to take I-17. Someone I admire said that when someone does the wrong thing, it shows they just don't know any better. After all, if they knew any better, they wouldn't do the thing lol In this case, another passenger thought it was the right thing to spend the better part of the the ride home telling this experienced veteran of the industry how to do his job in tones usually reserved for noncompliant children and animals. David did his best to not take things personally while navigating the twisty, dark roads with grace, skill, and composure. He did not accept my offer of trail mix, but I don't take it personally. Another passenger told me she uses this service frequently and said they are consistently late. In addition, there was no shade and no bathroom facilities. UNSAFE DRIVERS: I hired a Groome shuttle between Tucson and the Phoenix International Airport, round-trip on 3 and 16 Nov. 2024. During the drive from Tucson to Phoenix, the driver seldom had both hands on the steering wheel. Often he was driving with only his forearms on the wheel. And he spent a lot of time reaching for and slurping an energy drink. On my return trip, the driver (a different person) was better, but not great. He told our group that it is against Groome's policy to drive at speeds exceeding 75mph, which is fine. But in practice, he would try passing trucks driving at 75mph, so he ended up sitting alongside these monster trucks, holding up traffic that wanted to pass. Staying in the lane next to these huge trucks isn't safe. read more

Calling the dispatch twice only to find out the forgot to stop. We almost missed our flight having to find a ride to the airport. No apology, or contact from company. The lady on the phone was polite but the last two times I have taken this shuttle the drivers have both been extremely rude. As a business owner i am shocked that businesses can stay in business with such poor customer service. I prepaid for the tip, I will never do that again. I hope they will try to train their drivers to be polite or let them go if they aren't able to treat people with respect. I would use another service if I could but they seem to have a monopoly on shuttle services. Groome transport runs 21 shuttles a day between PHX Sky Harbor Airport. I have riden with them before when they were AZ Shuttle and since the change to Groome. I was in a pickle on Friday and had caught an early flight to PHX but all the earlier TUS flights were sold out. Translating to a nearly 8hour layover. No Thanks! I remembered Groome and booked a ticket on the 3:40pm shuttle. I landed earlier than scheduled and managed to snag the last spot on the 2:40pm shuttle. The driver did ask me to wait to see if the original passengers made it which I thought was both fair and kind. These shuttles are roomy and seat 12 people fairly comfortably. They also tow a closed trailer for luggage so don't worry about packing light. The driver reminds everyone that calls should be limited to 5 minutes which is so nice for those passengers trying to sleep. I will definitely continue to use them whenever I wind up with an unanticipatedly long layover in PHX. read more

I called at my departing airport to let Groom know that my flight had been delayed, and so I would most likely not make my arranged shuttle at 6:30 at Sky Harbor. They said to call when my flight landed at Sky Harbor and they would book me on the 8:00 shuttle if needed. When I got to Phoenix I did just as they said, but I was told that because another flight was canceled--one that had nothing to do with my flight--they canceled their 8:00 shuttle, so I would have to take the 11:00. They also told me that their records indicated that I had already gotten on the 6:30 shuttle. Solid system all around. Isn't this a pretty straight-forward business model? Check names off a list, drive people to a series of predetermined locations, and hand them their bags? It seems like it should be pretty easy to arrange and get right. I got to hang out at Sky Harbor with no food or drink options for over 3.5 hours waiting for the 11:00. Worst of all, the Groom Transportation phone lady was not apologetic at all. She even got an attitude when I became disappointed at the inconvenience. This shuttle service sure was better a couple of years ago before it changed ownership and name. A deal is a deal. You should not leave customers stranded to save money on a single down-and-back shuttle ride. You should at least apologize and have some basic customer service know-how. I'll be looking elsewhere in the future, even if it means driving and parking in an airport lot. I'd rather pay a little more and not be disrespected. read more

I called to get a shuttle for me, my wife and our tiny dog (she would be boxed). First, the woman on the phone was outright NASTY. She said they didn't pick up on the "South side"-- we're at hipster 5 Points, not exactly a Bad neighborhood. She then said their policy is no dogs, no matter the size, container or good behavior. I asked her for some alternatives, she responded "you can get an Uber (from Tucson to Phoenix??). Beyond the general customer service, Groome's locations for pickup are unsafe and unsupervised. Every occasion of pickup in my area has been a lack of seating, limited shade, and a small sign indicating the bus could be anywhere from on time to 15 minutes late (it is regularily late). I have felt obligated to use Groome due to their availability on last minute reservations, but the airport drop off point didn't have a direct address. We stopped at a bus terminal rather than the pickup location, called to gain clarity on the location, and arrived as the bus was leaving with the supervisor on the phone telling us he couldn't stop the van. This was all within mere minutes of our reserved time of 8:30 am. Ive had my purchases for Groome on hold with them over cancelling with a delayed flight, but I'm already incredibly displeased with the company to even want to reserve that money to involve them later. My PHX-Tucson trip was great. Shuttle came on time. The driver Aaron was super nice and courteous. Despite special requests from a lady who is diabetic for a stop for food and restroom break, we got to our destination in timely manner. On 10/29/23 We were scheduled to take a shuttle from Tucson to PHX at 2:30am to catch our flight to Istanbul, Turkey. Our airport shuttle driver did not show up. We were forced to have our youngest son drive us to PHX. We will NEVER use Groome again. I live in Phoenix and my elderly mom is in Tucson. Groome is a very inexpensive way to travel back and forth for visits. The drivers are always nice and it's great to sit back and relax instead of driving the two hours there and back. The people who work the phones are always pleasant too. read more

I used this service today for the first time in a couple of years, so much better than it used to be. I'm not implying that it used to be terrible, because it wasn't, it's just better now. Professional driver, clean vehicle and it was so nice to just sit in this van and take care of phone calls for work and whatever else while someone else drove. Granted, I had the luxury of being in a not full van, but I would've found a way to get things done even if the van was full. And the price was definitely fair. I always have plenty of work that I can do if someone else is driving. I'm pondering the idea of a long weekend or something like that up in Prescott and use this service to get there and back. I could get a lot of work done going there and coming back and have a nice break in between in Prescott! I will be definitely using this service again and will refer it when asked. read more

We got to the shuttle pick up area at 2:32 and they had already left us. We called at 2:50 and found out then that they had left us. They did not call or give us any warning that they wouldn't wait. However, when Groome picked me up a week ago to take me to Sky Harbor airport they were 20 minutes late picking me up. This shuttle service is expensive and irresponsible. I called this company for a ride to the airport. I'm not from here and did not know that there are 2 airports. They only give you one option for Phoenix. So I picked it. My girlfriend and I are both disabled Vets. 66 years old. They took us to the wrong airport and left us stranded there and told us to find our own way to the other airport.It cost me $100 to take a taxi, then I had to rent a car to get back at 11:00 pm to pick up my car. That was another$150. They said they don't give refunds but the person refunded me for the return trip so they lied about that to. I will see if they have a corporate office. They can not treat older disabled vets this way. This is still America and we dont treat our vets this way. This is'nt over. We will see them in court no matter what the cost.Don't use this company!!! read more

Do NOT use this service! We reserved seats on a shuttle from Tucson to Phoenix five weeks in advance, and tried to cancel two days later when we got a free ride instead. Groome had already charged my card, and refused to give us the $98 refund, insisting that I had "checked the box" by the small print, which said I had to cancel the day before the shuttle. Even though I tried to cancel FIVE WEEKS before, they would only give me a future credit for a service I will never use! This policy is worse than the airlines! Just used Groome for the first time for travel between Tucson and Sky Harbor in Phoenix. Easy to book and easy to reschedule when my return flight changed. On time pickup and dropoff. Polite and safe drivers. Comfortable seats. Had a power outlet to plug in my iPhone on the outbound trip but none on the return trip. All in all, a good service. The only reason that I'm not giving it 5 stars is pricing. At $43 per leg, Groome charges more than FlixBus, which charges $12-$16 per leg for the same trip. read more
