From the first time I called to confirm the Reservation an ask questions, to when we arrived and were greeted by the amazing Amy, the most wonderful host and historian of the property. To the hospitality, the breakfast in the morning to the check out, EVERYTHING was 5 stars! The property is absolutely beautiful, amenities, pool, etc..We were in town for the Ringo Starr show and they made everything so easy, so welcoming and so comfortable! THIS is what a B&B experience is supposed to be and we will most certainly be staying here again very soon!!! Recommend 100%. Beautiful Historic home but nicely restored with modern stuff like AC and pool/spa. The staff was super nice and helpful and breakfast as well as snax and drinks were very generous. They have an honor bar and continuous coffee, tea, waters, baked cookies, etc. We live in Tucson and stayed for my wife's birthday. Went to see "Almost Elton John Experience". Walking distance to the Fox Theater, restaurants etc. Show was great and we had a wonderful dinner at Miss Saigon around the corner. read more

I was here for an event that included a tea and tour of the house. While I didn't stay overnight, I would certainly suggest it to visitors. The owner was a great hostess and shared the history of the house which was very interesting. The house is located on south Scott in walking distance to many downtown attractions as well as access to the trolley that can take you to the the University area. The interior has some beautiful wood work. The furnishings are Victorian and quite nice. Some rooms are perfect for a family with children as there is like a smaller area off the bedroom with a bed. We were served tea and the servers were very helpful and pleasant. There were many nice touches like water in the bedrooms in a carafe with glasses, choices of tea and coffee available in dining area with machines to make it, and amenities available. It is a beautiful house that would make for a very comfortable stay I would think. I would recommend it to friends and family. read more

I arrived for my stay on Friday, February 6th, and was warmly greeted by a wonderful young woman named Kasey. Kasey was extremely welcoming and friendly and made a great first impression. While unpacking and exploring the inn, my daughter and I met another employee named Amy, an older woman who seemed off-putting from the start. As time went on, Amy's behavior became increasingly inappropriate and uncomfortable. Amy repeatedly overshared personal information and made several troubling comments. Amy told us that she was a witch and a pagan and described how she disliked a coworker named Shay (whom Amy referred to as "they/them") so much that Amy took a photo of Shay, burned it, and froze it in order to "freeze them away." Amy spoke negatively about Shay, claiming Shay locked Amy out of the office, was passive-aggressive, and was trying to make Amy quit. Amy also made disparaging remarks about the owners of the inn, referring to them as "Bible thumpers," and then commented that my daughter and I did not seem like that type of people. Amy went on to share extremely personal and inappropriate details about her life, including graphic stories about her ex-husband cheating on her with prostitutes, her chronic back pain, and other topics that guests should not be subjected to. Amy told us that she had once been pulled over and attempted to avoid a ticket by telling the police officer that she was having a miscarriage. Amy also stated that she was a 1099 employee and that the owner does not pay insurance or taxes for employees and refuses to fire people. Amy behaved very dramatically at times, including expressing concern that an elderly man who appeared healthy was having a medical emergency when he was simply bending over and stretching. Amy frequently complained about coworkers, including saying that Kasey had made the breakfast casserole incorrectly the night before, then later telling my daughter that Amy herself had made it and that it was good. Amy also incorrectly accused me of using the espresso machine improperly and placing the pod in incorrectly, when Amy was the one who had inserted it incorrectly. The inn itself is absolutely gorgeous, and the history behind it is amazing. I truly would love to stay again, but after how wildly uncomfortable Amy made both me and my daughter, I am unsure how comfortable I would feel returning with amy being there. read more

Love how the house has been kept with most of the old woodwork, and it was decorated for Christmas which was such a nice treat for us. I lucked out in finding this jewel of a hideaway when searching online for a place to stay during University of Arizona's commencement weekend, where we watched our grandson graduate "cum laude" and also saw our granddaughter, who just completed her freshman year here on a full scholarship. Both were lured here from California with generous scholarship offers, and will prove to be good investments by the university. The inn is located withn easy walking distance from very good restaurants, and yet is a quiet retreat from the hubbub downtown. Here guests reserve a particular room. I reserved the Rose Room, where Diane and I had a very pleasant stay, and enjoyed amenities like free almonds, cashews, and a hardboiled egg; and a long dip in the built-in whirlpool spa and large outdoor swimming pool for me. Our richly furnished room included a comfortable double bed and two adjoining enclosed patio areas. I reclined on a lounge in one, and foolishly left my valuable sunglasses there of the same model that Elvis actually wore. Following my return to North Las Vegas, after I inquired if any sunglasses had been found on the premises, a staff member spotted them just outside the Rose Room during a short search. The inn offered to send the sunglasses back to me in Nevada, and after I received them, refused to accept any payment from me for required shipping costs. That is true service beyond all expectations! In fact, the whole time we were at the inn with other family members, the inn's owner and staff were the epitome of gracious hospitality. We will definitely return to Tucson to visit our granddaughter sometime during the next academic year, and will make sure to reserve early enough to book the Rose Room again. read more

On a recent visit to Tucson I came across the Blenman Inn and decided to get a tour. The house is magnificent! I was greeted by a very nice lady named Amy. She told me that she is the innkeeper. She told me all about the history of the house and the families and then gave me a tour of several of the rooms that were not occupied. Amy is very knowledgeable about the family's and the history of the house. Amy was also able to answer many of my questions about the area. I appreciate her patience and knowledge very much and hope to stay at the Inn on my next trip to Tucson. There are so many options when you come to a large city. I believe the people are what make the difference when choosing where to stay. Amy definitely made me feel welcome and she became a fast friend. I think the Blenman in chose well when they chose her as their Innkeeper. I have tried to attach photos but I apparently don't use the right format. I guess you'll have to go see it for yourself. What an amazing historic inn located in Tucson, AZ! As a Tucson local, I decided to have a staycation for my partner's birthday. I had walked by The Blenman Inn many times but didn't know much about it. We decided to book the Nichole Elizabeth Luxury Suite for a Friday night and later added an extra night, which was totally worth it. The Inn offers convenient and safe parking, with an easy check-in process. Interaction with the owners was fast and seamless. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and kind. We found a lovely present waiting in our room upon arrival. The inn is beautifully decorated, with lots of history attached to the property. Its location is perfect, situated downtown right next to the Owl's Club--a very unique bar housed in an old mortuary--and a short walk to downtown restaurants, cafes, bars, and theaters. The property boasts many amenities such as a pool/hot tub, grill, and a full kitchen in case you want to cook during your stay. There is an on-site caretaker who is extremely nice and fun to interact with. The inn also offers a nice selection of bar items, complimentary drinks, teas, and coffee. Breakfast items are set up awaiting you in the morning when you wake up. I will definitely be staying here again soon and recommend booking early as they tend to be fully booked in the fall and spring. read more

Dearest Reader, It is with my utmost sincerity when I tell you, the Blenman Inn is the finest accommodation this side of the Mississippi. I hesitate whether to tell you everything, or let you discover the magic of this place on your own... So in the fewest possible words, SUBLIME! In more words, the innkeeper Brenda was fantastic. She greeted us at the door and gave us a remarkable tour, leaving us wanting more! She also did a great job with breakfast in the morning, and was very friendly and immediately responded to our questions. The location couldn't be better, being right next to downtown, but with enough distance to be quiet and peaceful come bedtime. As for the inn itself...it is simply inn-spiring! I'm currently planning to do a hostile take over and live here the rest of my life, but alas not yet.... Only complaint is that an inn-cat would be a purrfect addition to this place! read more

My daughter surprised me for my Birthday last week. She flew in from Indiana. Then, she surprised me with an overnight at the Blenman Inn in Tucson, Arizona! When we walked thru the front door, it was just like stepping into the 1800's! The Host and Owner, Margo greeted us along with her assistant, Brenda! What a beautiful Inn. I could go on and on, but you just need to look it up to find all of the fascinating history!! We will most definitely return to this Inn! Best place ever!! We hated to leave!! Not sure how best to review the Royal Elizabeth. The name is a bit of a misnomer as they no longer provide a breakfast meal "in house". They do provide breakfast vouchers that can be used at either a nearby hotel or a local eatery. So perhaps they should more accurately be called the Royal Elizabeth Bed. :-) They also have a bit of an identity crisis because they are alternately known as the Blenman House. All snarkiness aside....this boutique hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of many of the restaurants in the downtown area. It was built in 1878 (44 years before Arizona statehood) and retains much of the charm from that era. There are seven unique guest rooms and the woodwork and other features of this home are exquisite. We had a few minor hiccups with the room (i.e. non-functioning fireplace), but nothing major. There was one instance where I found management difficult to reach in a timely manner. But that said... I also found management and their innkeeper to be very accommodating when I had misplaced something and also when I was contemplating a last minute change in our reservation. If you're looking for a nice place that's out of the ordinary....you should consider the Royal Elizabeth. read more

An absolute gem! We stayed here while we moved our son into the university and was completely thrilled with everything. Communication was outstanding, property was spacious, clean, comfortable, and very accessible. Rooms were very large, common areas were awesome to have use of and the pool was beautiful. We made a reservation and needed to cancel. They were difficult to reach, first getting a full voice mailbox, then being able to leave a message. When they returned my call, I was told they have a 60-day cancellation policy. This is posted nowhere. They had already billed our credit card for a 3-day stay and would not give us any credit back. We hadn't even made the reservation 60 days out. So we were billed and they collected $675 for nothing. Do not book a stay here if your plans might change. read more

This was our very first time in Tucson as well as staying at a B&B and let me just say that our standards have been set very high for every B&B we might visit in the future. Susan and Glenn are the Innkeepers at The Liz and they are the warmest, most welcoming people we have ever met and I really can't wait to be in their company again. Before we had even departed for Tucson, we received a personalized email from both Glenn and Susan stating their excitement to meet us and asking us if we had any dietary restrictions (I'm a vegetarian so I particularly appreciated this). Upon arriving at The Liz, both Susan and Glenn greeted us at the front door and led us inside the historic and charming Royal Elizabeth. We were explained the history of the home, how it came to be, and the owners throughout the years (I won't give any details about this because I just couldn't do it justice regardless of how hard I try). We were given a tour around the home and shown the other rooms, kitchen, and my personal favorite, the wonderfully peaceful and lush backyard surrounded by all kinds of plants, trees, flowers, and complete with a pool and hot tub. We were shown our room, The Ryan Patrick Suite, then Glenn and Susan personally helped us unload our baggage from the car. Because this was our first time in Tucson, we were pretty clueless about what to do for fun; enter Susan and Glenn's vast and comprehensive knowledge about the city and all the great restaurants, bars, and breweries that lay just a few blocks from The Liz. Our first morning there was a foodie's dream. All of the guests met at the dining table at 8 am for breakfast, this is where we all got to sit together to get to know one another and I honestly really loved this. Susan's culinary skills are out of this world, she can whip up some seriously amazing food and if I could hire her for the rest of my life I would! For the two mornings we were there, our breakfasts consisted of: Morning One: baked grapefruit sprinkled with candied ginger and served on a bed of pomegranate molasses followed by tamales served with pico de gallo and some papaya. This was all served with Susan's custom blended fruit juices. Morning Two: butternut squash soup spiced with a little ginger (and perhaps some cilantro) followed by the most amazing green chile strata baked with locally made tortillas and some mango salsa. Also served with Susan's fantastic juices. I truly cannot express how much Susan and Glenn really made us feel so pampered and so at home. One of the evenings we were in the hot tub, they both came and joined us for a little chit chat and some drinks. It was such a great experience to get to know them! I highly, highly recommend staying here if you find yourself in Tucson. This is definitely an experience I'll be talking about for ages and I can't wait to go back! read more

It's always a joy to return to the Royal Elizabeth. Eric and BJ have turned over the day-to-day management to Jake (who, among other things, has worked as a chef in Tucson), and he seems to be settling in nicely. As always, we got some excellent restaurant recommendations, the room was great (we were back in the Nicole Elizabeth suite for the second straight year), and the evening dips in the sauna were a relaxing treat. Overall, the breakfasts were very good -- especially the banana french toast on the first day, and the scrambled egg w/ herbs in a mushroom "bowl" with some salmon and shredded radish/cucumber slaw on the side. However, the oven seemed to behaving a bit temperamentally, which caused some items to come out a little under done (while other items were perfect). Also, the grounds have gotten a bit weedy, and need more upkeep, although the bougainvillea and other shrubs made a nice comeback from last year's hard frost. Regardless, this is your best bet for any stay in Tuscon. read more

The Blenman Inn, I was in town for the weekend and was so blown away by the beautiful property, the service of the staff and the quaintness of the rooms. There were "special touches" everywhere, from history on the walls, special bowls of fruit, and higher-end toiletries in the rooms. A big coffee bar made my mornings off to a great start. Finally, I felt safe and completely at ease there, given the current COVID-19 situation. Hand sanitizer was at the ready and the staff took great care to keep all areas clean and sanitized. I will ABSOLUTELY stay here again on my next trip!!! And, next time, make time to enjoy the POOL! read more

I have stayed at the Royal Elizabeth twice now. First time 2017 and again this last week. I guess it's my fault that I didn't read current reviews or read the full disclosure on their website about the breakfast. The hosts Eric and Mellisa were prompt and helpful with any questions that I had. .... but, Royal Elizabeth is now just a place to lay your head. Lovely old Tucson mansion, with beautiful interior. Website still touts a gourmet breakfast, NOT! You are given a $10 voucher for a restaurant 1/2 mile away. (I guess I should be grateful that I was able to get my 'steps in' ) the option for breakfast is a place that is noisy, chairs with cracked upholstery and wooden slat tables for dining. They did give me the option for 'free range eggs' that cost $1 extra. two eggs , bacon, toast and coffee $12.50, not including the tip. My $10 voucher did not take the place of the lovely breakfast that I'd had the pleasure of two yrs ago at the Royal Liz. If you are desiring to dip in the hot tub, plan on a 40 min wait while the tub heats up. I love B&Bs, I stay at them for the beautiful surroundings and lovely breakfasts. I'm sad to see this change at the Royal Elizabeth. read more

I was in town on business and I always try to stay at a local B&B. After a thorough search, I found this establishment and another that would be suitable. The other was booked so luck had it and I was indeed Lucky. This is one of the best B&B's I have been to around the world. The facilities were clean, well appointed, and creatively decorated with original art. The bed was very nice and the room was quiet. The breakfast was first rate chef quality. The gem of the business: the two proprietors. Without a doubt, these are the nicest and most accommodating hosts you would ever hope to lodge you. They were sincerely concerned with my enjoyment and relentlessly positive and upbeat. It was my sincere pleasure to stay at the Royal Elizabeth. I will always stay here when I come to Tucson and I will recommend the establishment to both strangers and friends coming to the city. read more

One of the recent patrons wrote "Can I live here?" in the guestbook and I couldn't agree more. This lovely bed and breakfast was the best I've ever stayed at. The historic inn is magical and full of interesting antiques. Our bedroom was quaint and comfortable. The luxurious robes and fancy bath products were a plus. The inn keepers made us a pot of tea and fresh cookies in the afternoon. This morning they made us a lovely breakfast of fresh coffee, carrot ginger juice, a pear tarte, apple sausage, roasted potatoes, and a scrambled egg stuffed avocado. I was blown away by the fact that they set a full table complete with candles and fancy silverware. Most of all, the inn keepers were caring, honest, and gracious, and take pride in their special inn. I live in Tucson but will definitely make any excuse to come back and stay here! read more

Couldn't have selected a better place to stay in Tucson! Built in 1878 by a railroad executive who had elegant carvings and designer appointments shipped in from San Francisco (no small feat). Living here for 30 years he sold the residence to attorney/judge and Tucson real estate developer, Charles Blenman, whose family lived and worked out of the residence for the next 100 years. That is why the building is on the National Register of Historic Places. Perfectly preserved and remodeled with all the modern conveniences, the bed and breakfast is under the loving stewardship of Joseph and Greg, two of the nicest and most talented guys you will ever meet. They take their responsibilities seriously and attend to every detail. To complete the package, they are both amazing chefs who prepared the most innovative and delicious gourmet breakfasts, fit for royalty! The bed was comfortable, the bathroom spacious, the pool area lush, and although there is free parking, the location is short walking distance to all the great downtown restaurants, shops and events. Took my mom and aunt for Mother's day surprise this year and what a wonderful place to stay even though we live in Tucson. The inn keepers were wonderful coming to the truck as we pulled up welcoming us with warm greetings. The inside is spectacular with original wood entries and pillars, simply amazing! The room was a trip to the 1800's with gorgeous antique style furniture looking polished and clean. The bed was NOT from the 1800's, 21st century quality bed like sleeping on a cloud mattresses (had the 3 person room) While the place is beautiful the gourmet 2-course breakfast was out of this world delicious! Presentation was out of a magazine and the freshness of the food was fabulous. We stayed 2 nights and what a wonderful treat each morning. They have a sparkling pool and spa surrounded by shade but plenty of sun if you wish and bright flowers, herbs and vegetation, what I think heaven will look like. The best part was after breakfast the second day we sat around the table for 2 hours talking to the others guests and the inn keepers, laughing, joking and really having a fun time. This beautiful, historic mansion is Arizona on the outside & San Fran on the inside..with the benefit of the sound-proof adobe walls. The decor is endless eye candy. The rooms are so pretty & comfy, making it easy to feel at home. The Liz is peaceful & serene, especially at the pool & jacuzzi. Location is the best. Walk to everything, restaurants, bars, music venues, shops, public transportation. Susan & Glenn are true professionals who definitely have their craft down, excelling at bringing the personal touch and attentiveness of a B&B, while also being completely un-intrusive. We rented out the entire Royal Elizabeth B&B for the Univ. of Arizona Homecoming weekend! I cannot speak to the breakfasts as when you rent out the house you provide your own breakfast! The pool and jacuzzi area is an oasis! We used the entire property! The entire house is so amazingly historical! Glenn and Susan can help you choose the room to your preference! We were in a suite and it felt like your own apt. All 6 couples were thrilled with the Royal Elizabeth. Glenn and Susan know the neighborhood very well! They can make recommendations for dinner, coffee, cocktails! Downtown Tucson is very vibrant and near campus! We walked to Homecoming activities and home from the football game!
