FliXBus is a good option for getting to the PHX airport. When you buy a ticket you can hop on at any other scheduled stops on the way (UofA, Downtown). It makes a stop in Tempe and then the 44th Street Station. There is a rail line that takes you right to the terminals. The driver was on time, courteous. He didn't seem to have an issue with the drink and sounded like he encouraged it. My only complaint was that the motorcorach a[ppeared to be ready for a retrofit on the inside. It was not a branded bus and the FlLiXBots (see what I did there) let me know ahed of time. I am not sure what it is like leaving from PHX back to Tucson but worth a try as an affordable solution if the timing works with flights.

I love the idea that the SunLink connects locals to five districts: Mercado, Downtown, 4th Avenue, Main Gate Square & UOfA. After trying to use the Tucson "Modern" Streetcar since its debut, I've concluded that he hours of operation need improvement. Additionally,they don't make it easy to buy a ticket. The machines regularly run out of tickets, or they give you tickets that don't work. This often leads to an embarrassing exchange with the Fare Enforcements officers. To make matters worse, loading them online is even more complicated. Sure.... I'll Drive east to Alvernon to a Frys supermarket to buy a pass. Yep.....That makes a whole lot of sense.

Very clean, often with fare enforcers who will scan your ticket. I don't give it more than 4 stars because when there aren't fare enforcers on the streetcar it is not clear how to scan ticket from the app. Overall very user friendly public transportation. For the gem show I parked near University Blvd & 6th, unrestricted street parking, walking a few blocks to board at the stop near Epic Cafe.

I…read morelove the Mercado, so even though we don't park here to hop on to the streetcar, we always do the loop to get here so we can have a walk through the Mercado. Additionally, the stop is always clean, it looks the most "upscale" (the neighborhood/area is safe, too), it has some cool art at it, and the streetcar usually pauses for a minute or two so you're not likely to just miss it (it's a common place for the driver to get up and stretch). Even though we don't park here to hop onto the streetcar, there's tons of parking around for other streetcar passengers to park at (the parking doesn't say it's for Mercado only, so I assume parking for the streetcar is ok). It's all very close to the stop, so it's super convenient. I love this streetcar stop, it's peaceful and exactly how they all should look in a nice city.

Sun Link is a 3.9 mile streetcar that connects riders to five of Tucson's most unique districts, with hundreds of restaurants, shops, and entertainment. These include: Mercado, Downtown, 4th Avenue, Main Gate, and the University of Arizona. Service is available on weekdays and weekends, with streetcars generally running every 15 minutes, starting at 7 through 10 pm (Check the schedule as there are differences by day of the week, particularly in the early morning or late evening). You can pick up the "Streetcar Destinations Guide & How to Ride" in any of the streetcars. Service is currently free. We boarded the Sun Link near downtown, and rode the full route in both directions, jumping off only at the University / Tyndall Station, which is a bustling area with eateries, students, museums, and more. The streetcar was easy to use and a popular transportation choice, particularly near the university. We noticed that some passengers had parked their cars near the convention center or Mercado, and then used the Sun Link to commute to downtown or the university.

As a former Sun Van driver I am appalled by the way they train their drivers. They train using…read moreintimidation rather than coaching the proper techniques. They are horrible teachers but quite good at intimidation. Then what happens is drivers go out to drive and do what they choose rather than what they have been trained to do, because they were intimidated during training. It is a very immature way of instructing people. And they wonder why they have so many accidents and incidents. The trainers at Sun Van are nothing more than long term drivers with no teaching credentials at all. They were moved to trainer positions through longevity, not competence. BEWARE!!!

To the person generalizing a whole state please go back to California I left there in 2001 to get away from people like you coming on here and judging people. Let me start by saying that I will NEVER use Greyhound again. Never. I had the unfortunate experience of riding Greyhound just after graduating college. My experience was that the facilities and buses were dirty. The facility lacked adequate security. Now I find out that they are targeting the very people that keep them in business by charging those who most need their service HUGE service fees. My latest experience: It was horrible. My sister, who is staying with me while she completes testing and assessments in consideration for a liver transplant, needed to return to Yuma immediately to provide care for another family member. Because my sister does not have checking or lines of credit, she asked me if I could book her ride for her online. She wanted to make sure that she had a spot reserved. I went to Greyhound.com to arrange for a ticket and transportation for my sister. Greyhound quoted a price of $34.32 for a one way ticket. As I completed the forms online and proceeded to checkout, the cost of the ticket had changed to $52.32. As I researched the change further, I realized that Greyhound has a policy of charging an $18.00 fee if you buy the ticket but are not the person using the ticket. Greyhound listed the fee as a "Gift Ticket Fee." I contacted Greyhound customer service. Based upon my conversation and the lack of English spoken by the rep, I am assuming that Greyhound has outsourced its call center function overseas. The CSR I spoke with explained to me that the fee is a policy of Greyhound and it is charged to cover the additional costs and for convenience. I asked him to breakdown what additional costs they were incurring? He was unable or unwilling to justify the fee. He kept reiterating that "this is our policy and you must pay Gift Ticket Fee." My feeling here is the Greyhound has instituted a policy that is direct fee on the poor and indigent. This policy has the DIRECT EFFECT of raising rates on those who can least afford it. In my sisters case, the cost for me to book her bus fare was an INCREDIBLE 52% INCREASE over the advertised fare. Greyhound...it is no wonder your ridership is in continual decline. It is no wonder that your company is on shaky financial grounds. Wake up. Take a look at your reviews online. Read what people are saying about you. Your organization used to be considered an icon in the American transportation system. Now you are looked at with despise.
