I asked if they could add some wire to the stems to ensure they lasted 3 days and they did just that. I had to plan a funeral in 3 days time and it was very stressful but I was so thankful for May and Liz. I called around to see if anyone would even be able to make the 6 standing sprays and one casket spray in basically 2 days time because I ordered the flowers on Thursday morning for a Saturday service. All the other places I called were either too busy or said they would not be able to order the flowers in time, but May was willing to take the order and even delivered the beautiful flowers more than half an hour before the time we had agreed on! We had the funeral on a Saturday and then the burial on Monday and so we left most of the sprays at the funeral home over the weekend. The beautiful flowers still looked perfect on Monday! We took one of the sprays home and now 3 weeks later it is a little dried but actually still looks pretty good considering how long it's been, altho the cold weather lately probably helps some I'm sure. We also really appreciated that May was able to write some of the ribbons we wanted in Chinese! I sent her a few of the messages late Friday but she still got everything and did a great job! Their prices were a bit higher than the others but for the service and short notice it was the best choice for a flower vendor. I only wish I knew about them a few months ago when I got married but we will keep them in mind for our friends and any future flower needs. read more

Ordered condolence flowers for a friend who has just had a tragedy. The woman on the phone was rude and couldn't wait to get off the phone. We specifically asked florist to leave flowers on the porch, and not to bother the recipient. The florist rang doorbell and wished friend "Happy Mother's Day" in person--the opposite of what would have been appropriate. Very disappointed and will never use this service again. My mom ordered flowers online from Fleur De Lis for my birthday. (Being that she lives in Canada, it's always a little difficult and expensive to send flowers). The flowers were delivered while I was at work, and luckily she had told my boyfriend about them so that we were expecting them because they left the flowers outside, unwrapped, on the ground. Now I realize that it's California, and it's not particularly cold, but had we not come home right after work the temps would have been dropping into the 30s and 40s. We live in an apartment complex with an office, and most florists will leave the flowers in the office. This was not enough to deserve the two star rating however. Upon calling my mom to thank her for the flowers, she was shocked to learn that 1) she had paid $15 for the delivery person to drive or walk half a block, and 2) that there were only 3 gerberas in the bouquet when she had paid to upgrade to the deluxe bouquet (3 was for the standard size). She tried to call the florist to complain, but the person who answered the phone said she had not worked that morning and so my mom needed to call a (1-800) number - I assume a head office. When she spoke to someone there, she was told that the office would consult with the flower designer and email her the next day. The next day they offered their resolution - they would refund her $10. Not exactly a gracious solution seeing that with the exchange rate, that $10 had originally cost her $12 and the refund would be worth $8. At this point, I would have been willing to give a three star review because the flowers were still very lovely, however one died within three days of receiving them. I would have to say I would never use this florist again with so many others to choose from. And I recommended that my mom use Pro Flowers in the future. read more

Fleur De Lis did the a phenomenal job on the flowers for my October 13, 2012 wedding. I worked with May who listened to my descriptions of how I wanted my bouquet, bridesmaids' bouquets, mothers' corsages, boutonnieres, and centerpieces. She would give me feedback on what would look better with the flowers I wanted (primarily irises :)) and was also open to any ideas I had. May even took time to experiment to see if what I wanted for the centerpieces would work (irises in a tall glass submerged in water) and sent me a picture to see if I liked how it turned out. We met several times during my wedding planning process and would go over each element and what I was envisioning. Throughout all this, May was always friendly, welcoming, and helpful. On the day of the wedding, Fleur De Lis delivered on everything and did an incredible job with the flowers. The bridesmaids bouquets were my favorite and were absolutely perfect - they incorporated light blue irises (in a shade I don't really ever see at stores/farmers' markets) which complimented my bridesmaids' blue dresses. The aisle arrangements were enormous and based on the size and quality of the flowers, looked like they cost at least double the amount they really were. The venue had actually put out the arch for our ceremony even though I didn't say we were going to use it (and therefore did not ask May for any arch decorations), but the aisle arrangements were so beautiful that it wasn't at all noticeable that the arch wasn't decorated. Besides that, the centerpieces and other flowers were absolutely gorgeous and looked amazing at our venue. Everything was delivered on time and were ready to go by the time we got to the venue, which was great to not to have to worry about. Fleur De Lis' work far exceeded my expectations. The price was reasonable given the other wedding florists' I spoke to. The flowers ended up being some of my favorite details of the wedding and I couldn't have been happier with how they turned out. read more

I will have flowers delivered from here any day, for any occasion! ! I have been burned by places that delivered the worst flowers I've ever seen as well as flowers that were in a cup instead of the actual bouquet that I ordered. So naturally I am always skeptical when having flowers delivered. The customer service is outstanding. When I placed the online order, I also called the shop to follow up. I explained to Liz that this was for a very special occasion and requested they send me a picture before the bouquet went out. Liz didn't even hesitate. Everyone in my office gets a potted plant from this shop when they start work. And everyone, whether they are diligent waterers or benignly neglectful, sees their plants die within a few weeks, maybe a month. Maybe they are just giving office workers plants that don't thrive under office lighting conditions. My tag says "diffuse light, keep out of direct sunlight." I don't know. The ladies in waiting had lovely red anemones bouquets and the groomsmen had matching boutonnières . The ring bearer had a lovely wrist corsage (she was 9.) It was the VERY FIRST TIME a "tropical arrangement" I received was exactly as I expected! -- Dendrobium orchids; Hawaiian red ginger; red, white and pink anthuriums, tropical palm leaves, etc. Bouquets I've received in the past described as "tropical" (from other places) would contain several stems of dendrobium orchids with other flowers, but none could compare with the bouquet I received! I reached out to the vendor because the arrangement I purchased died within 2 days and she indicated I could come back in for a refresh if I brought the bouquet back. However, I am a very busy working person and to drive back in the hours they are open is difficult when you work north and they are located in the neighborhood. I am lucky to be home by 6pm any night. The cost for my bouquet was $75. This was for 6 roses, some greenery, a couple of lillies, and a few daisies. Basically NO flowers. For the same amount of flowers and style of flowers, you can buy them at a grocery store for $25. They said it is because the flowers are older and they get only the freshest which will truly last. (2 days). My grocery store: whole foods, nob hill, trader joes will last 7 days or more. This place robs you with cheap quality flowers and the staff working are generally unkind. The store itself is chaotic. It looks like a homeless man's garden rather than an inviting store front. I wanted to support a local business, but I should have made note of how the store looked and linked it to how my bouquet turned out. My opinion? SHOP SOMEPLACE ELSE! read more

There seemed to be a misunderstanding regarding the balloon bouquet I asked them to deliver to my daughters elementary school last June. Ive used Yelp, but have never posted a review of a place. But by far the worst florist I have ever used. I orderd the Lavish Love Bouquet for Valentines Day.. I even upgraded to the premium for $20 more. I was horrified to have received pictures my girlfriend had sent me after recieving them. It had a total of 8 roses and 5 lilies. For $120 + delivery, I expected way more than a dozen roses. The bouquet looked like a 10 year old made it. I called the florist and an female employee answered the phone. I said I wanted a refund. She said the manager, May, would call me back soon. I recieved a phone call from them 5 minutes later, not from May, but from the same female, saying they will refund my money but they have to pick up the flowers from my girlfriend. She works at a big corporation and the embarassement of having to give back the ugly bouquet. I dont know who is more embarassed, my girlfriend or the florist. Luckily my girlfriend is understanding and didnt mind. I wouldve maybe left another half star but picking up the flowers after they have been delivered, is just horrible customer service. They didnt even offer to send new flowers which was a first for me. DO NOT BUY FROM this place... If you must, ask the recipient for picture to make you sure they got what you paid for. read more
