I don't give negative reviews lightly. Don't trust this Florist to deliver to your someone special. Prepaid orders in advance for multiple delivery dates. Florist fulfilled the first order, and later requested I pay additional delivery fees. Florist also requested I pay higher price for the flowers I had already prepaid, or accept 1/2 order at original price paid. Despite advance purchase, Florist cancelled the remaining order shortly before expected delivery. Bad business. I have been a patron here for years, and this was a disappointing experience. Mills Florist is a gem in the community. Their service is amazing. When I went in they asked me what I was looking for and did amazing.

We placed a Get Well arrangement called "Pink Lemonade " yesterday on their website to be delivered today to Stanford Hospital which is only 10 minutes away from their store. The picture showed on their site was only $75 but we pay $115 for a premium arrangement. What we received is in no way comparable to the $75 one, let alone for $115. Here's the $75 arrangement showed on their site and The $115 arrangement we received 20 minutes ago. If there's a return policy, we would use it right now. We definitely would characterize this as a "hit & run" transaction. They probably though we wouldn't use them again since we live in San Jose so they didn't care enough to put together a quality, as-expected product. We had to give our billing address which is in SJ to pay with a credit card. So sadly, we were utterly disappointed with Mills Florist. Be warned! read more

Stopped by this establishment on a Friday evening. My team just moved to Palo Alto that day and I finally had a glorious window seat.This meant I was in the market to find something cute and green for my desk. On my way to dinner, I saw this nice planter of succulents in the front of the florist shop, but it didn't have a price tag so I wanted to inquire about it. The woman working at the cash register was busy helping another customer with a bouquet of flowers, so I patiently stood behind him waiting for them to finish. Once they finished, she turned around and started fumbling with a cash register and was really absorbed with filing some paperwork from that transaction. About a minute goes by and she doesn't acknowledge me. Thinking maybe she didn't see me earlier, I say a meek hello, to which she responds with a curt "I'll be right with you." I waited another few minutes, but she still doesn't turn around to help me. At this point I have been standing there for 6 to 7 minutes in total, and my interest in the succulents were quickly diminishing. Finally I had enough, so I turned around and left without saying another word. My guess is business must be booming, so she probably didn't need me as a customer anyway. I've made a mental note not to use this business for my company's floral needs in the future. read more

I received a beautiful flower arrangement recently from a friend who used Mills Florist. The arrangement was lovely - see photo - but when hydrangeas are used as a big part of a bouquet, then the woody stems should be cut to allow water to reach the flower head. These were not cut at all, so not surprising that the hydrangea heads were all drooping 2 days after receiving the flowers. read more

After contacting a number of florists in the area for my wedding, I decided to go with Mills given their responsiveness and their proximity to my venue in Menlo Park. It was a tad on the pricey side, but I loved the flowers that I ended up getting. My consultant Nikki was also great to work with; she has a strong vision and certainly does not mince or sugar-coat words, but does a great job in distilling her clients' ideas and executing them to a T. I ordered boutonnieres and bouquets with Mills (while I ordered my centerpieces from Safeway to save some $$). Nikki was very mindful of my budget, and had great suggestions on color and flower types to complement my theme colors and venue. On my big day, my florals turned out to be HUGE with a hint of whimsy, which was a nice surprise. The bouquets also contained massive peonies with a bright shade of pink that actually matched the bridesmaids' dresses really well, which spoke to Nikki's ability to factor in all the details. The bouquet lasted well through the night, and I received so many complements throughout the wedding too. Mills and Nikki both come with high marks for any bride looking to get professional input and execution on their wedding florals; I'm definitely a fan! read more

Who is open at 3pm on Christmas Eve AND apologetic for not being able to make a dtpa delivery for my last minute ass? MILLS! Not only was my Mission Impossible completed, but I was not made to feel like the lagger that I was and my needs were properly accommodated, with a smile. The price was fair. I was looking for flowers for my wedding and this company came recommended by a friend of my mom's. We went and the woman was nice, she sat and explained everything and said she would get us a quote. I was nearly ready to book with them even before seeing the quote. Poppy, the woman we met with told us it would be a couple of weeks before she could get us the quote. So we waited. 2 weeks came and went. I called and spoke with Poppy. Apparently she had a wedding and then was sick but said she would get it to me in the next 2-3 days. Another WEEK came and went and no e-mail and phone call. I called one more time nearly 4 weeks after the initial meeting. I wasn't able to speak with Poppy because she had stepped out. The woman who answered the phone took my name and number and explained that she had been sick and she would have her call me back. I never heard from her. I was so frustrated with the situation. They said I would get a quote and never gave one. My mother called her friend to explain our disappointments in her recommendation. Her friend then proceeded to call the florist. The couldn't understand why I was in such a hurry to get a quote when the wedding isn't until Dec. 31! And then Poppy proceeded to lie to them and say we had spoke and she had e-mailed the quote. I never got anything! I would never recommend this company, their customer service is beyond horrendous and they are just plain rude and inconsiderate. Do not go to this florist for anything. read more

I used to work next door and the old man who worked here used to give me a single stem flower all the time just to brighten my day! The flowers are pricier than your Safeway or Costco mixed bouquet but they are beautifully arranged and absolutely perfect! No wilted or bent flowers here! They also have a much larger selection than most other florists and carry truly unique vases. This is my absolute favorite place to get flowers, HINT HINT :) read more

I can't speak for ordering arrangements here, since I haven't done that, but I do regularly drop by to pick up a rose or three for the vase at home. Their older long stem roses are discounted to a dollar once they're past their prime, but that doesn't mean they've gone bad -- these things are still gorgeous and I've had them last up to a week, if not sometimes longer. Everyone I've met here is super friendly too. I love the variety they carry. I've found all sorts of interesting colors of roses here, including a really gorgeous lavendar and a neat antiquey cream with blushy edges. It's a sad day when I don't have at least one rose from Mills kicking around the house somewhere. read more

My very first review and it is on my favorite florist. Mills is by far, the BEST florist in the Bay Area. Their flowers are the best quality and they last for a long time. What makes Mills stand above all other florists is their staff. I have never had bad service and I use them all the time. Rick was very helpful with getting me set up with flowers to make a wedding bouquet. He was very friendly and gave me some great tips on how to make my friend's bouquet beautiful. Molly was purely awesome! She was a breath of fresh air and she left me with a lasting smile after ordering my flowers from her. I cannot say enough of about Mills. Stay away from this flower shop. Poor coustermer service. So I pre ordered 2 dozen Rose's. I wanted to supprise my fiance 4 our anniversary. I was told I could just grab them from the freezer and go. When i got there I rang the bell plenty of times no answer. I was upset because the Rose's looked like crap. If ima spend 150 I want the Rose's to look amazing. Insted they were ugly like if they were in a rush. Every single rose was imperfect. And the filler they used was brown and dry.. I called a man named Shane and he told me to bring them back so he can sell them to some1 else..... ok fine I did that but how do I get a refund. Well it's been over 12 days now and still nothing. Have gone to Mills a few times. The first time was when my girlfriend (now wife) and I just started dating. I walked in a few days before Valentine's Day and was very pleased with the service and the appearance of the flowers. More importantly; the aforementioned 'now wife' loved them. I looked like a rock star! Not that the flowers made me look like a rock star- I always look like that! Blagahaha!! Fast forward ten years and I went back to Mills again (and a few times in between) and I was treated once again to the very best. I needed to pick up a birthday bouquet for my S.O.'s sister in a pinch, walked in around 3PM, gave him some color ideas, a budget and left him to work his magic for 15 minutes. He was kind enough to push out some of the next day's orders in order to squeeze me in and put together a gorgeous arrangement that truly delighted a very particular recipient.
