Needless to say, our meal was so delicious and filling - easily the best seafood we've eaten in the area, and some of the best food we've eaten in Southern Oregon. The clam chowder, steamer clams, crab and artichoke alfredo, and seafood mama (crab, shrimp, scallops, parmesan cream sauce over fettuccine) were incredible. The wait staff was friendly and helped us out with our menu selections. It turns out that you can get both the fresh baked sourdough and ale bread with your meal, and each compliment the food wonderfully. The restaurant itself had a wonderful, lively pub feel to it. As aforementioned, we loved The Laughing Clam and will return at our first opportunity.

Wait for drink wasn't bad for as busy as they were. Ordering food and receiving food took a bit. Again very busy. The chowder was very tasty. Could have been a little warmer. The stuffed mushrooms were not what I thought. I didn't realize they were breaded heavily and deep fried. Then they pile a little bit of seafood then Swiss cheese. The grease from them frying then they sat in the grease made everything mushy. Barely any seafood and they were not fresh it was frozen bagged mushrooms. The clam strips were also frozen bagged. Not fresh. Hardly any taste. The ladies that served us were super friendly and nice. And my cocktail was a nice proper cocktail. I didn't realize really like the service and the ambiance. Very friendly spot even from locals.

Although the pork was kind of dry it tasted OK but I doubt that I would order that again. Wife's steak was great with mashed potatoes. However, the spinach wasn't served with the rest of our dinner and when we asked about it three different people said it was on the way. They finally served cream spinach when we were finishing our dinner! Evidently the waitress that took our order forgot the spinach so it wasn't ready until we were done. Dinner was expensive for a casino I thought and they exhibited a rather cavalier attitude about spinach being served so late. I feel that they should have 'comped' the late order! It seems doubtful that I will return to this Steak House.... 3 out of 5 stars was a generous vote.

We started with the deep-fried pickles, which were a letdown. They tasted like basic bottled pickle slices lightly dipped in flour with minimal seasoning--nothing special. Dinner didn't improve much. The menu items sound really appealing, but once they arrived, the flavors were bland. We ordered the Irish stew, and the meat was very tough. Tried cutting it in really small pieces so I could chew it, but it wasn't worth the effort. Had a few pieces with gristle and fat. I ended up picking the meat out and just eating the carrots and potatoes. We also tried the famous meatloaf, which was the highlight of the meal. I enjoyed it, though the portion could have been a bit larger. The gravy was tasty, and it came with peas and mashed potatoes. Overall, while the service and atmosphere were great, the dishes lacked flavor and felt overpriced for what was served.

The ambiance, was classic pub throughout, and we enjoyed this quite a bit having just returned from Ireland few weeks ago. I ordered the deep fried cheese curds and chicken sandwich and both were pretty good. They had a small back outdoor patio, a pool table, a full bar, and a seating area with just enough for a small crowd. We were impressed that the bartender managed the crowd easily on her own ensuring everyone got their food and drinks from the bar to the tables in the back of the room. Was an easy place to stop for a quick bite while I was in town!

September 5 & 6, 2025 - Gold Beach, OR…read more We were staying at Turtle Rock RV Park when a local suggested we check out the Friday night steak special at Hunter Creek Bar & Grill--$21 for a full dinner. Sounded like a deal, so off we went. Walking in, we were hit with a wall of noise from the lively crowd and a haze of smoke drifting off the grill. To top it off, we got an unexpected dose of "local flavor" when an older lady at the bar fixed her gaze on my husband, asked to take his photo, and then claimed she really just wanted a picture of the door... sure, okay. I was tempted to turn right around, but we stuck it out and found a table. Before long, a server stopped by with menus and got us settled in. We decided to split the steak dinner, and it turned out to be fantastic--tender, flavorful, and more than enough for two. A glass of cabernet on the side rounded it out nicely. The best part, though, was the atmosphere. Once we relaxed into it, it was great fun being in a spot where the locals gather. A friendly couple pulled up to our table and shared stories about the area, even tipping us off to some local happenings. We enjoyed it so much that we went back the very next night. The Saturday special was a shrimp hoagie, and once again it was both a tasty meal and a great deal. We even ran into our new friends from the night before, who invited us to join their table--making it feel like we were part of the neighborhood. Note: no minors allowed.
