Did a quick trip to Grants pass just to get out of nor cal for my bday. I usually like a birthday ribeye and The Twisted Cork did not disappoint. I've lived in many major cities and have been cooking for almost 40 years. I didn't arrive with high expectations but the steak was perfect as was our app (The Kahlua Shrimp.) The husband enjoyed his polenta lasagna as well. He's extremely picky so I was surprised to hear it hahaha. The server was super friendly and fun and the chef also checked in on us and was equally as cool. A lot of Yelp reviews seem to just be people with unrealistic expectations so I take it with a grain of salt. I don't typically leave reviews on account of that but I like to give credit where credit is due. I definitely plan to come back next time we are in town! We did a meet up in Grants Pass. Loads of fun. We needed to get some food and stopped at the twisted cork. Very cute inside, It was relaxed it has a bistro feel. Our server was terrific. Very personable and engaging and also give us enough time to visit with each other. The menu is really nice lots of depending on your appetite And of course it goes without saying they have a terrific wine selection. I was very pleased with my food. I had the Cod sandwich with poblano soup. The soup was delicious, the sandwiches very good too. We had a flatbread as an appetizer and everyone seems to really enjoy that. We had dinner at The Twisted Cork. I always check Yelp before going to a new place to make sure reviews are in line with my likes. The place is in what I think is the downtown area and has a sign outside with a couple small tables & chairs. The only thing I saw I was interested in was the cioppino. I was concerned and asked how strong the fennel was in the fennel tomato broth. The server said not strong so I ordered it. We also got a Caesar salad which was good-though more dressing than I would like. The soup was in a good sized bowl and had a good amount of seafood. The broth, I felt, was so different than the norm that maybe it should be called Tomato Fennel Seafood Stew. I didn't care for the broth but ate some of the seafood. It was not my favorite. Ambiance is nice. Service was good. Just like any restaurant, you may not like everything they do and have to find your fav. It was just not to my taste this time. read more

Here I am writing about this place again almost ten years later! The food is still wonderful and the wait staff still very knowledgeable and helpful. Yes, the prices have gone up, but what restaurant hasn't raised their prices. The ambiance is still great for conversation and no, they don't hurry you along. Perhaps the best meal I have had in GP in the 6 years I have been here. The ambiance is nice and they have done a lot to change an ordinary commercial space into a comfy dining areas that serves both general and those more romantically inclined. Had the absolutely best dinner at The Twisted Cork. Service was impeccable and the food was heavenly. Our waitress was all over it. Not one single mistake and everything was exactly as ordered. She even had a great sense of humor and absolutely take their recommendation for dessert of the sticky toffee pudding. We started with 2 orders of crab cakes for 4 people. Each order only comes with 2, size is 2-3 inches in diameter. Could have eaten both by myself. The buerre blanc sauce was mouth watering. Entrees included a chicken and shrimp Alfredo, the scallops and a PERFECTLY cooked rare NY steak with chili butter that you'll want to put on everything. The dinner side portions of house salad and caesar are just the right size to start your night with as well. Very good dressings. We ended the night we the apple pie cheesecake, vanilla bean creme brulee and the sticky toffee pudding. We ate EVERY bite. Go here and support. While yes previous comments are accurate in the age of most patrons, I was very happy here with food and ambiance in my mid 30s. This review is long over due! We came to this restaurant while on a road trip through Oregon, and I can say without a doubt this was the place we ate at on the trip! Our friend who is a local brought us and had only great things to say about it, and she was absolutely right! We ordered the crab cakes, poblano soup, burger, and the macadamia crusted fish. (Sorry we were too excited and ate everything without pictures!) Everything was fresh and well seasoned. My fish was cooked to perfection and was in a lovely sauce that I ate as if it was a soup! Non left behind. We also ordered the seasonal dessert which was a peach cheesecake. I was obsessed with it! It was like a peach cobbler pie and a New York cheesecake had a baby! The warm sticky toffee pudding was highly recommend by our friend she said it's the best! So I guess we'll just have to come back to try it! The owner stopped by our table and had a lovely conversation with us. He was extremely kind and charismatic. You can see why he has so many regulars! We went to lunch after reading all the great reviews. Big mistake!! We ordered a glass of wine (white) it was served very warm. We ordered the crab cakes they were about the size of a 50 cent piece. We had also ordered the soup which was severed the same time as our meal. Now for the food, I had the cod sandwich the fish was so small it was all bun. My husband had the coco von (excuse spelling) it was all broth one small piece of potato two small carrots as for the chicken it was more like a Cornish Game hen the leg and thigh were so small. We were looking forward to a nice dinner out tonight. My wife ordered the beet salad and the soup de jour. She said it was fine. I had the truffle scallop's capellini, the sauce was delicious but unfortunately the scallops were only seared on one side and were on the edge of under (I prefer that to over though) our waitress was great and I felt she was also the manager, the rest of the staff that we observed seemed to have an attitude and didn't really want to be there. The main concern I have is cleanliness. There were lots of fruit flies in the restaurant that is a given tell that there is an issue with something rotting or being very dirty. With some cleaning and some small tweaking this could be an amazing place. If we're back in the area I would poke my head in to see if it's cleaned up and try it again. read more

Wow! We just ate here today and we are so thoroughly impressed with the food. The vegetable polenta is amazing!! So tasty and a very good amount of vegetables. My husband's salmon was also delicious and we got 2 Alfredo's to try tonight for dinner. Everything is seasoned so well. I hope we can go again this week while we are on vacation. The Twisted Cork used to be my favorite date night place for over 10 years...the last time I visited, they must have run out of salt, the food was completely lacking of all seasoning. It was disappointing to have to eat my scallops bland. Haven't been back since, I would rather pay $35 a plate to have good food elsewhere. No plans to return. read more

I have never been disappointed. Fantastic menu items and staff. My favorite item however is the polenta lasagna.

A friend and I were walking around downtown on a Saturday and decided we wanted a few cocktails with lunch. Twisted Cork looked very inviting from the street. We went in, were seated by the window, waters promptly brought out. Our server was super friendly and helpful. Atmosphere was wonderful and relaxing. We had few delicious cocktails, appetizers and finished it off with a dark chocolate cake. Portions of appetizers were a little small for the price, if they were a bit larger I would have given them a 5. I feel they have a really large menu with awesome sounding dishes, we will be back for another fun afternoon for sure. read more

Great food - Top dishes I have tried are the brisket, macadamia crusted halibut, linguine, prawns, and pomegranate beet salad and all are amazing. I never have any leftovers because the food is just that good! Owner has a great palette to think up the flavor profiles of these dishes. It's the best burger I've ever tasted in the Rogue Valley and I only got one bite because my girlfriend ordered it, not me. With it she had their amazing potato chips with melted blue cheese on top. OMG. I had the delicious Dungeness crab appetizer with a champagne buerre blanc sauce that was delectable. We both had the red of the day and it was exquisite. This is such a lovely little spot. Great for celebrations or a nice meal. The location is perfect and plenty of parking when we went. Plus, shipping downtown. The atmosphere is quaint with twinkle lights and a nice dining area. We had fantastic service. Everyone was lovely. Now, the food!!!! There was not one thing I would change in our food. Our first time eating here and we left very full and satisfied. Service was great and they were very attentive to our needs. I ordered the scallop truffle pasta and added grilled shrimp, but would've been fine without the shrimp overall. I think mine was the tastiest of the 3 dishes ordered, but fiancé had the flat bread and he ate the entire thing! Parents ordered and shared the ribeye, but weren't fond of the brussel sprouts as they were still pretty bitter after being sautéed. We came to this restaurant while we stayed in Grants Pass Oregon. It was one of the only sit down restaurants open close to where our hotel was. I looked at their Yelp page ahead of time and thought this looks good. The wait was a little intense!!! We waited 45 minutes and I normally don't care for waiting but mind you we've been driving hours and we're hungry, sweaty do to the heat and fires happening and all we wanted was to enjoy a good meal and not fast food. Nonetheless, we got seated our hostesses was nice as well as our waitress. It was a full house inside and I believe they were short staffed. There was definitely a vibe in the establishment that I must admit I don't think I fit in.... I didn't care much since again I was HANGRY! You can tell since i don't have pictures to post. But anyways I got the steak, the bf got a bigger steak and his sister ordered a burger. The food was good, we did have to wait a bit.... But being the good patient folks that we are we just appreciated the A/C and cold water. The sticky toffee pudding cake was absolutely the best dessert we have ever had in our life! The wait staff was great friendly and accommodating. I'm happy they had outdoor seating so we could have our dogs with us on a very hot August evening when it was too hot to leave them in the car or back at our trailer in the RV park.
