Pros- hubbie got the chili and salad. I got the vegetable beef soup and bread. Food was tasty. Hubbies chili was warm, not hot, but very tasty and good flavor. Service was great. Our server was a clean-cut young man that was very friendly and eager to please. Atmosphere was good although was seated next to the noisy kitchen. One young man (not our waiter) was bussing tables, filling things for the end of the night and generally kicking butt. Wish I would have gotten his name as he deserves some acknowledgement of his hard work. He had an impressive curly head of hair. So hope this gets back to him. Location was perfect as we just got checked in to our hotel from a long day of driving and it was attached to the hotel. Cons- being seated next to the noisy kitchen although we could have asked to be moved. The young hard-working young man offered to help out a waitress (older lady with brown, kinda frizzy hair) who was giving out a customers order. She was rude to him and basically shoed him off. Not impressed how she treated this hard working young man in front of others. Well, even if it wasn't in front of others. This same entitled waitress (clearly one of the head waitresses) shoed off another gentleman that worked in the kitchen from standing on the walkway between kitchen/dining room. Less than five minutes later her and another older waitress (bleach blond hair) stood in that same passway while gossiping about another waitress. They tried drawing in our waiter and he quickly, but nicely brushed them off and back to work he went. I sure hope someone reads this review about the two older waitresses working there as they need to be aware of their surrounding environment. In addition, is it that hard to be nice to people?! In this generation I find it that it's harder to find young people that have a better work ethic than two older women that should have known better and set a better example. Shame on you. And kudos to the waiter who didn't buy in to the gossip and the 'hair guy' who professionally accepted the rude waitresses behavior and just went on to do his job. read more

The food is really good and worth it. We always get a steak dinner. The comedy club and atmosphere is nice. We enjoy the date night package . It comes with 1 night stay, comedy show, dinner and breakfast . The hotel is hit and miss as far as cleanliness . We stayed in the honeymoon suite with the hot tub. The Hot Tub smelled bad and the bathroom door and walls was dirty and the wallpaper was peeling off. Another time we stayed there from booking. Com and they gave us a room on the bottom floor that was very noisy next to the maid supply room and staffing quarters . I asked for a different room but they said they were full. Very disappointed. I won't stay there again unless I get to see the room first. read more

The Regency Grill is all what you would want for a restaurant in a hotel. I had dinner last night as I arrived late in the afternoon. The beers were ice cold and the food was delicious. I had the Beef Tips Stroganoff. Today I had perhaps the best Chef salad I have had in a long time. Everything was so fresh and the salad was huge. The staff were very pleasant and super attentive. I've been here twice - about a year apart, because I stayed at the hotel next door. Last year - was SO good! I got a burger melt of some sort, and it was awesome! The service was great, as was the wine! Fast forward to this go around... I decided I wanted an entree meal. The offerings were pretty boring. I wanted a steak, but there was just one choice... so I got some buffalo wings and the prime rib meal. The wings looked promising - but they were not great. The skin was chewy, and they tasted soapy. I picked apart several to get the meat - I was hungry after all... I ordered the prime rib medium done, and instead of a starch - got extra vegetables. The vegetables were basically frozen baby carrots and broccoli with some squash slivers thrown in... and the prime rib was DONE, and SUPER fatty. The service was fine - she kept peeking around the corner and kind of 'spying' it was weird. But I guess it IS Medford... I would give my original visit 4 stars and this one 2 - so I settled at 3. So if your a guest you pay just 5 dollars for breakfast... Strange, as most hotels give away breakfast... If your not a guest you pay over 10 dollars and frankly there are better breakfast options in Medford... They are pricey for the location, and ambiance. You can go into the bar, which has TV's and has the sports bar feel. Service is spotty, been here several times and they don't really have that spunky excited hostess you come to expect. The 'bad' experience was at Chadwicks, the Sports Bar next door and I haven't seen the waiter there since then. The Regency Grill itself is very peaceful and quiet, which I love! The food is very tasty and presented in a fine dining style. Good variety and priced fairly, although it's just a tad higher than some other restaurants I've been to. However, the experience makes it worth a few extra dollars in my estimation. Our waitress was very friendly, and kept an eye on our table throughout the evening. So I give this place 4 stars for the quick food service and value for what you pay. Had breakfast as a hotel guest for $5.99 and my plate was full, fast and tasty. Bacon and eggs were fresh and the restaurant was quaint. By no means is this gourmet but it gives Denny's a run for its money. The waitress though was pretty useless. Very nice little hotel coffee shop in the Rogue Regency Inn in Medford, OR. When you stay at the hotel, you get a $11 "Regency Breakfast" with choice of beverage, for only $4.99 per person. The breakfasts are very good, I'd say better than a Denny's and you can't beat the great value. Its good enough so you don't need to go elsewhere for breakfast. If you're not staying at the hotel, my rating would be 3.5. Because of the special offer (saving about $8 per person on breakfast + coffee), my rating is 5 stars. read more

The Regency Grill used to be a reasonable place to go for dinner. It wasn't great, super fancy or anything extraordinary, but the food was decent, and the prices were reasonable. However, something has changed. We went to the Regency Grill Wednesday night for dinner. It wasn't busy. We were seated right away and our drinks (water and hot tea) were brought immediately. And then we were ignored. For .... longer than 15 minutes. No one ever came back to our table. Eventually we just left. We walked by all the servers standing around at the front counter and they said nothing to us as we left. Not good night, not sorry, not is every thing okay? Nothing. In addition, the Regency Grill has raised their prices significantly and have changed their menu. They have a specials sheet with "higher end" dishes salmon, prime rib, etc., but their main menu reads more like a bar menu: burgers, salads, sandwiches, pasta, all with prices out of line for the restaurant itself, and Medford in general. We left $2.50 on the table for my hot tea (really? $2.50??) and left. This was our last trip to the Regency Grill. read more

The staff here are friendly and attentive, a cut above average. Sadly, the same can not be said for the food. We were seated promptly and given the menu, which describes food which sounds delicious. My husband ordered grilled halibut filet un a bed of julienned vegetables. I ordered the New York steak, medium rare. They were very accommodating of my request to substitute house vegetables for those listed due to a food allergy. The server brought out warm bread, which was fresh and tasty. The salads were a bit sad. The edges of more than half the lettuce were brown and the onion was dried out and chewy. It tasted of sitting a long while. When the main courses arrived they were a mixed bag. My medium rare steak was well done and brown throughout. Our server offered to return it for a new one after agreeing that it was definitely not medium rare. However, by this time my husband had half of it on his plate and was chewing away ravenously on it. The grill flavor was nice but it was a chewy bit of flesh for the money. The halibut suffered a similar fate. It was cooked through and through and on the dry side, but again, the flavor was nice. I believe the chef has a heavy hand on the grill, which might be fine at home on your own grill, but for a restaurant advertising itself as a quality steakhouse- and charging the prices which go with that level cuisine-one should be able to receive properly prepared portions. The vegetables were the best thing about our meal. They were not overdone, which is a tad ironic, and they were deftly seasoned. I was very happy to have them. Perhaps the basics at the Regency Grill fare better and the people at the next table seemed quite happy with their soup and burgers. However, if you are seeking an excellent steak and quality seafood I believe you can do better. read more

Today is our first time coming to Chadwick's here at the Rogue Regency. The food was awesome! Our server is Chevone, she took great care of us throughout our evening . When we first got here I was so surprised by the size of the place - it's really big. We were asked if we would like to stay for comedy night- but we weren't prepared to stay that long so we'll try that another night. I ordered the Kobe style rib eye steak cooked mid rare- I took pics it was so perfect. The meat was so tender it didn't need a knife - it had a beautiful nuance of rosemary which was a Rosemary infused butter it was basted with- the seasonings were on point and I didn't have to add a thing. The potatoes were garlic made and then a nice combo of roasted grilled veggies finished it off. Mike had the prime rib French dip and pasta salad - he enjoyed it a lot. We took home a classic Reuben sandwich for mom and she said it was delicious as well . We will definitely be back. This is the first restaurant here in the valley that got my steak cooked absolutely perfect and not overdone. I gave it 4 stars because our waitress seemed to be doing all the work with the young adults just standing around trying to be another wannabe hostess (receipt says "108 Tisia M" and she was the motherly waitress amongst all those kids!). Salmon tasted like it was from a can and the hollandaise was just... bad. Well, they've lost a customer of over 20 years. I have eaten there for the past 20 years at least 2-3 weekends a month and lunches and dinners throughout the year. Often I bring family and friends there. Two Sundays ago, I was there with my son, daughter in law and two young grandchildren. We sat outside. We waited quite a while, then I got up and got our own menus. When they finally brought the children fruit cups, there was no silverware. We asked for some but it never came. Now, over 45 minutes into our time there, I went and got silverware for the table. When our breakfast came, my son and I had ordered Eggs Benedict. (This is a signature dish for them) The eggs were hard boiled. The waitress came by a few minutes later and asked how the meal was. I told her, 'not good'. I let her know my son and I had both gotten eggs the texture of hard boiled. Also the hollandaise was watered down and tasteless. She asked if I wanted them to redo the order, and I told her that there was no way we could wait another 45 minutes, and we had two small children. She shrugged and returned inside. I did not finish mine - they were simply inedible and my son said his were awful. When the waitress brought the bill, I noticed we were charged full price for the Eggs Benedict. I asked the waitress to please take off the the two Eggs Benedict. Looking doubtful, she said she'd have to ask the manager. She returned saying the manager had refused. I was shocked to say the least. The manager knows I've been a loyal customer for so many years. I went up to the hostess station and asked to see the manager. After five minutes, the 'Assistant Manager' came out looking sullen and with an attitude. I was told the regular manager was out that weekend. I said to him, 'I've been a customer for...' And he cut me off saying, 'I know how long you've been a customer.' Then I said, 'then you will understand why I am asking you to take those two breakfasts off the bill. It was awful.' He responded, 'Then, you should have had them redone.' I replied that we had two young children, looked at my watch, and told him we had been there an hour and 20 minutes already. He said, 'Well, I'm not taking them off.' I told him if he ever wanted to see me, my family or my friends again, he'd take it off the bill. He turned his back on me and barked to the waitress, 'Fine, take it off the bill...take it off the bill!' and returned to whatever lair he came out of. I have owned a restaurant and I would NEVER treat a customer like that, especially a loyal one of over 20 years. A week ago, I sent them an e-mail letting them know what happened and that I did not think I could come back. To date, I have had no reply. We make a road trip two times per year from So. Cal to Washington and always stay at the Rogue Regency in Medford. Everyone on staff is always so accommodating and pleasant. For the price, everything is GREAT. We especially enjoy Chadwicks and the restaurant. The kitchen was remodeled at Christmas and when we arrived over the holiday break, the restaurant was closed. I was so disappointed, but the manager comped us two free entrées which we just enjoyed immensely. I am surprised that this place is not packed with locals. Don't let the awkward freeway exit off of Biddle keep you away. If you get lost, turn around and go back, because you will discover a casual, but excellent dining experience. The prices are extremely reasonable and we have never been disappointed during the many times we have been here. I just had the ribeye with chimichuri and it was flavorful and fork tender. They have an excellent wine list as well. My wife graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in Napa; she and I are So Cal food freaks. We make The Rogue and Chadwicks a destination on our biannual road trips. For the price, this can't be beat. And... For those who say that you pay 5 dollars for breakfast when other hotels give away breakfast... Well, I agree. Super 8 gives you a crappy "continental" breakfast or some kind of buffet. You get a REAL breakfast here. I love the Rogue and the restaurant and would highly recommend you check it out. The hotel has always been very reasonably priced, clean and accommodating. One time, my wife left her laptop computer in the room. We called after realizing it was not in the car. The staff retrieved it for us, held on to it at the counter, and on our way back from Washington, we picked it up untouched.
