You can order wine, beer and cocktails. Hubby ordered a beer and I went for a Bourbon and 7up. We were disappointed that they were not offering the pizza as that was the reason we decided to go there. We ordered the charred Brussel sprouts and the chicken tacos. Dad ordered the Reuben sandwich. The Reuben had a lot of fat in the meat. The Brussels sprouts with the aioli were delicious and the tacos were good. Nice outdoor seating, well made and poured margarita and our server lady was kind and helpful. Sadly, the kitchen dropped the ball as we waited nearly an hour for a burger w fries and some potato skins. We had other things to do and a schedule to stick to and decided to close out the tab before being served our food. The server was totally understanding and apathetic. The Talon Grill has some terrific advantages over the vast majority of restaurants. Their scenery is outstanding. It would be wonderful if that is all it takes to be a great restaurant. The Talon grill has a huge disadvantage: their kitchen is the size of a tiny closet. In good weather, which is often in southern Oregon, they have seating for a sizable number of customers. The dilemma is that the staffing and kitchen size cannot support the number of diners who can come for a nice meal. Tonight Several of us ordered Fish & Chips. The fish was not acceptable for 2 of us and good for 1 of us. The "chips" were frozen shoestring French fries that had been warmed. This is really not a dish to be served at a higher class restaurant. The Cole slaw was made from kale. The waiter attempted to give us a verbal listing of the wine list. He came across as unprepared and was fumbling. A customer should be given a menu, even if it is only for wine. Prices? Not offered. Talon Grill should accept that they are a GRILL and not an upscale restaurant. Or they should make the plunge and expand their kitchen to allow for proper preparation of real quality meals. We live 1 1/2 Mike from Talon Grill and would love to visit this lovely location. But we want quality service and quality food. Over the past several years, that has not happened. read more

The newer ownership has improved on the food quality greatly. The service has always been good and the ambience is excellent being adjacent to the beautiful planted golf course. Large space inside with great views from the spotless large glass panels. Outdoor seating is also excellent. The bar is not large but adequate considering how much inside seating is available. The food portions are large and many times we just get appetizers, or salads, and our drinks of course. If you ever come to Eagle Point and if you enjoy goof, this is the place to come and relax. read more

I've never had a bad experience at Talon Grill. My parents live in Eagle Point near the golf course so it's a great place to take them out when I visit. Wide range of food choices and full bar is helpful when dining with several people with dietary needs and varying palates. Most dishes did not disappoint, like their fantastic Bolognese that I still dream of! I also love the outdoor patio seating option for a beautiful afternoon lunch. My only complaint is the acoustics aren't great especially if you have a group of post golfers enjoying each other's company nearby. So I wouldn't necessarily recommend Talon for an intimate dining experience but perfect for a lovely afternoon lunch or casual dinner! read more

Mothers Day brunch: While the staff were nice and helpful, and the breakfast fare was decent, there was one glaring misstep: not a single green thing or fruit. There were 6 kinds of meat, lots of eggs and taters, tons of carbs, but no sign of fruit or veggies except a couple flakes of spinach in the omelette. Just had the most wonderful meal for my wife's birthday. Eight of us had a great meal and a wonderful evening at the Talon grill. Food was wonderful and service was great. This place has so much POTENTIAL! But....you never know what you are going to get when you get there. The venue is amazing and the deck is gorgeous! They have just blown through a few chefs and tonight was dismal. We went for Taco Tuesday and were told it was now Bottomless Pasta! For $12.95 you get all you can eat pasta. The salad was drenched in Caesar dressing, the sauces on the pasta were really thin, and pasta is all you could order. Maybe the new chef just needs a bit more time, but I am guessing this is a management issue. I don't post many reviews, but I really hope this place gets it's act together! It is the ONLY decent place in Eagle Point to go to and could be AMAZING!! Terrible service today at lunch. Took forever to get menus, water and took forever for a server to come take our order and forever to get our food. No water refills. Server didn't bring to go boxes like we asked and he disappeared. Had to go I side to get them ourselves. AND, they weren't even busy. Also they were out of Flautas, Sliders AND Ranch dressing...seriously. They also need to learn how to make proper Chicken Marsala and Mashed Potatoes. read more

We live close enough that we walk down often, and we came down tonight with relatives visiting. This is the second bad experience in a row here. We ordered simple, two burgers and two salads. One burger wasn't delivered and had tomatoes that were asked to removed when the order finally went in. Neither of the salads had any dressing, my wife's chicken in the chicken cobb was too dry to eat and my sister in-law had ribeye on her salad that was half fat when the ribeye finally showed up. Last week we ordered a "pound " of steamed clams appetizer that was perhaps 8 oz with shells included and the salmon in the salmon piccata was so dry that I could have used it as a fire starter. I wish I could leave a good review since I live in the area, but I'm still shaking my head over the excuse for pasta primavera I had April 13. 2019 For $14, I expected more than noodles, four olives, two artichoke hearts and a handful of tomatoes. Must say the tomatoes were good. The menu stated the dish is made with fettuccine, garlic, herbs, parmesan cheese, butter, and white wine. I tasted none of that. Instead, what I tried to eat tasted like pasta boiled in unsalted water. Oh, and the pasta wasn't fettuccine. Won't be back. read more

I am really disappointed in Talon. We recently moved to the area and depend on decent places to eat. We have been to Talon 4 times now and each time seems to be worse than the other. First experiences were lunch which are beyond my belief in bad service and really poor quality food. I like a fish and chips and ordered them three visits. The first was ok so I tried the next visit and got fish so thick in breading I had to break it off to get to the fish. Hoping it was a blip I tried once more and it was even worse the coating rock hard and thick. Probably the worst experience was dinner last night when we were with friends. Two of us had dinner salads which were just a jumble of brown wilted lettuce and ragged greens. I had a prime rib which even ordered medium was almost raw and with so much fat and gristle was beyond saving. The "seasonal" vegetable was mostly onion in a bath of oil I had to leave on the plate. The other three in our party were victims of food that was barely warm and incomplete orders. It was late and we just wanted to get home so we didn't bother to ask for change I will be able to select better places I hope and stay far away from this place. read more

Have eaten here a few times. Sometimes the menu on line does not match the menu they are serving. I have yet to eat there when the current menu on line is the one you can order off of. But the last time I went was at lest 4 months ago. The food is good. Service can be good or not as good. Prices are a bit high for what they were serving, but portions are generous and it feels good in the restaurant. I'm hoping they will be more consistent in the future and serve the menu they have listed in line. read more

We have been eating at this restaurant for the last 8 years. It has definitely gone up and down in quality and service. When we first moved out to Eagle Point 8 years ago we used to eat here 1-2 nights per week. Due to massive changeover in staff and chefs we began going less and less often. It got to the point where we basically stopped going. I'm happy to say that the Talon is definitely back on the mend. I've eaten there both for lunch and dinner recently and had a fine experience. Quiet setting close to home. Beautiful views and a full bar. The wait staff are friendly and accommodating. They serve pub food in the afternoon but I wish they also served a more "stick to your ribs" menu choices during that time. I understand they have a great menu on certain days.
