My partner said the burger was good but it was more squishy with guacamole than he would have liked. I liked the club sandwich but felt that the proportion of bread to meat was off. There was too much meat and too little bread. And the sourdough bread it was on was so toasted that it was kind of sharp. The bacon also seemed like it had been sitting there and didn't have a crispy texture. We got fry sauce and ranch sauce to go with our tater tots and French fries. We enjoyed our food here but there could be some room for improvement with some of the proportions but overall it's a solid establishment where staff know locals' names. Ended up striking up a conversation with one of the employees, Blade, who was fantastic. We mentioned how much we admired the potted floral arrangements lining the patio, every detail felt so intentional and looked absolutely beautiful. Blade gave credit to one of the owners, Elvie Cartwright. Well Elvie, if you see this: you have an incredible green thumb and an artist's eye for beauty. Kudos. And excellent call on hiring wonderful staff like Blade.

Our seating was in the bar downstairs which was very busy and noisy which was ok for 2 of us unfortunately 2 of our party were deaf and that was an issue for visiting. Our dinners: clam linguine, small clams in butter wine sauce was good, lots of broth and noodles could have had more clams. Dinner salads were great, big, crisp and fresh. Hubby had the meatballs with whipped potatoes, not a big meal but very tasty. I often buy ribeye steaks at the Cartwright's market and they are wonderful. Cartwright's owns Taprock restaurant so I figured that's the steak they'd serve but no it was thin and tough like a top round steak, it was cooked med rare that I ordered. It wasn't cheap, won't order again. Margaritas were very good. Service was excellent and there was lots of hired help in all areas. Our waitress was attentive, personable and we enjoyed her service.

Dont be sneaky and charge a ridiculous random fee just because you think you can. No thanks! Other issue is the bar stools are bolted down... why?! There's free pool while you're waiting to sit at a table. I've been there three times and plan on returning on a regular basis. There has been free BBQ chicken, potato salad, and rolls the last three times. There's a fridge to put your beer/liquor in. Free ice and glasses for the mixed drinks. Several TV's to watch football games and such. They give you donation chips, so instead of the house raking part of the pot, it's suggested that you give the donation chips to the Poker Room to keep the lights on and pay for the cable bills; just like a poker room in the casinos (except better). So if you want some free money, come on nights I play!!
